This article focuses on growing importance of press in France after liberation. The author says that the pre-war press failed in its mission to inform people. The author provides with information that before the war anyone could start a newspaper, so the rich people started the press with ties to big financial institutions. As a result, the pre-press France was less involved in national news and got closely involved with Germans which was so prevalent in big-business circles. The post-war press is a purely informative press.
