A közelmúltban lezajlott egy országos felmérés a magyar, állami fenntartású kórházakban a dolgozói teljesítményértékelés gyakorlatáról. Ennek a kutatásnak a részeredményeként, jelen tanulmányunkban bemutatjuk a betegek szerepét a teljesítményértékelési rendszerekben. Feltérképeztük mindemellett – a nem célzottan a teljesítményértékeléshez kapcsolódó – a betegek véleményét tükröző, a betegelégedettségi felmérés észrevételeinek, eredményeinek a beépítését is az értékelésbe. Vizsgáltuk továbbá a minőségmenedzsment kapcsán, hogy a különböző intézményekben van-e minőségirányítási rendszer. A kérdőívet a kórházak főigazgatóinak az állami fenntartó küldte ki papír alapon. A válaszadás önkéntes és anonim volt. A kitöltött kérdőíveket közvetlenül a kutatásban résztvevők kapták vissza, nem pedig a fenntartó. A kérdőívet összesen 31 kórház küldte vissza, a válaszadási arány 27% volt, megállapítható, hogy a teljes népesség 1/4-ét lefedte. A felmérés során megállapítás nyert, hogy a betegek általi teljesítményértékelés nem számottevő mértékű a magyar kórházakban, bár véleményüket fontosabbnak tartják, mint az értékelttel azonos munkakörben dolgozó munkatársak véleményét. A teljesítményértékelést végző résztvevő intézmények csupán 3%-nál működött a 360°-os értékelés, noha a felső vezetők több mint 60%-a szükségesnek tartja, hogy ténylegesen és ne csak formálisan működtessék a 360°-os értékelést. Ugyanakkor a betegelégedettségi vizsgálatok a kórházi működés szerves részei.

A társadalomtudományok hazai oktatói-kutatói teljesítményértékelésében meghatározó szerepet töltenek be az akadémiai bizottságok MTA doktori eljárások habitusvizsgálatához kialakított folyóiratlistái. A nemzetközi felsőoktatási piac felé nyitni szándékozó intézmények rangsorokban elfoglalt helyét ugyanakkor a nemzetközi indexált adatbázisok folyóiratlistái alapján mért kumulált publikációs teljesítményekre alapozva számítják. A tanulmány az MTMT2 adatbázisán azt tárja fel, hogy mekkora különbségek adódnak az egyéni publikációs és idézettségi teljesítmények megítélésében e kétféle lista alapján való értékelésében és az eltérés bemutatásán túl elemzi azok valószínűsíthető követelményeit – mind egyéni, mind intézményi szinten. Végül lehetséges megoldási alternatívákat is megfogalmaz a kialakult helyzet feloldására.

Jelen tanulmany a kutatasi mintazatokat es előmeneteli utakat vizsgalja a hazai egyetemi tanarok koreben. Magyarorszagon az ugynevezett „soklepcsős” formalizalt előmeneteli rendszer terjedt el, amely pontosan meghatarozza, hogy milyen kovetelmenyek menten nyerhető el az egyetemi tanari kinevezes. Az evek szama az egyetemi tanari kinevezesig jol lathatoan kozelit egymashoz az egyes tudomanyteruleteken. = The paper aims to investigate the Hungarian university full professors’ research patterns and career pathways in the various disciplines. Hungary has a so-called ‘multi-stage’ formalized hier archy that clearly defines the steps how to achieve the highest full professor rank. After a theoretical section where the different career scripts – such as Top Researcher, Top Lecturer and Top Manager are presented, an empirical analysis is carried out. The sample consists of 327 professors. Results point out that there are different research patterns and a significant division between disciplines rather preferring the international (SJR) publication or the publishing of monographs. Concerning the career paths, we found the number of years until the PhD degree ranging between 6–13 years, while the habilitation is between 15.5–22 years and full professorship ranging between 22–27 years. The gap in the number of years among disciplines blurs for full professorship.

A tudománymetria a kutatók, a tudományos intézmények és a tudományos kiadványok, mint folyóiratok és konferenciakötetek stb. teljesítményének mérése és annak módszertana. A Vezetéstudomány ez évi második tematikus száma a tudománymetria gazdaságtudományi oktatókra-kutatókra való alkalmazásának bemutatását tűzi zászlajára. A tematikus szám öt tanulmányt tartalmaz a gazdaságtudományok különböző területeiről, de kiemelten a gazdálkodástudományból.

Az egyik tárgyalófél erős alkupozíciója egy tárgyalás során nagyobb értékelsajátítás lehetőségét teremti meg számára. Az erős alkupozíció két alappilléren nyugszik: erős BATNA és a másik fél rezisztenciapontjára vonatkozó megalapozott becslés. Előbbi a felosztható torta egy részét teszi a másik fél számára hozzáférhetetlenné, utóbbi csökkenti a kemény nyitó ajánlat kockázatait. Az alkupozíció egyértelműen erős, ha mindkét pillér erős, és egyértelműen gyenge, ha mindkettő gyenge. Az egyik-erős-másik-gyenge (közép-erős) helyzetek eltérő tárgyalási taktikákat igényelnek. A Global Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (GLOBE) kutatási program kivételes lehetőséget kínál arra, hogy egyfelől a jelenleg észlelt, másfelől a jövőbeli kívánatos kultúráról képet kaphassunk, és összevethessük a kettőt. A kettő közötti különbség elemzése lehetőséget kínálhat arra, hogy a változások és a sikeres tanulás lehetőségeiről, illetve korlátairól tisztább képet nyerjünk. A szerző tanulmányának célja a kultúraváltozók észlelt és kívánatos értékei között kimutatható – általa „ingahatásnak” elnevezett – jelenség felmutatása és egyszerű statisztikai módszerekkel történő első leíró elemzése.

Az MTA Vezetés- és Szervezéstudományi Bizottsága 2007. március 9-én emlékülést szervezett a vezetésszervezés diszciplína hazai nagyjai emlékére. Az emlékülés visszaemlékezéseit, méltatásait a szerzők egy cikksorozatban örökítették meg. A Vezetéstudomány márciusi számában Szabó Lászlóról, Harsányi Istvánról és Máriás Antalról olvashattak, most pedig Susánszky Jánosra, Kovács Sándorra és a közelmúltban elhunyt Ladó Lászlóra emlékeznek a szerzők.

The eastern European cluster consists of Albania, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, and Slovenia. It has a population of 232 million and a gross domestic product (GDP) of U.S.$772 billion. The cluster’s distinctive cultural practices are high power distance and high family and group collectivism. The region is facing significant challenges during its period of transition from communist philosophy to market-based economies. The participating managers value a much greater degree of future and performance orientation, but are strongly attached to their cultural heritage of deep family and group cohesion. They are also highly value charismatic and team-oriented leadership. The challenges and complexities facing the region are explored in the paper.

Different cultural groups may have different conceptions of what leadership should entail, i.e. different leadership prototypes. Several earlier studies revealed that within Europe various cultural clusters can be distinguished (Hofstede, 1991; Ronen & Shenkar, 1985). Using recent data from the GLOBE project, this article discusses similarities and differences on culture and leadership dimensions among 21 European countries. The results show that two broad clusters or patterns of cultural values can be distinguished, contrasting the North-Western and South-Eastern part of Europe. Within these clusters, differences in leadership prototypes to a certain extent mirror differences in culture. On the basis of these results it is hardly possible to speak of a single typically European culture or one distinct European management style. However, on some dimensions European scores are different from at least some other regions in the world.

This study focuses on culturally endorsed implicit theories of leadership (CLTs). Although cross-cultural research emphasizes that different cultural groups likely have different conceptions of what leadership should entail, a controversial position is argued here: namely that attributes associated with charismatic/transformational leadership will be universally endorsed as contributing to outstanding leadership. This hypothesis was tested in 62 cultures as part of the Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness (GLOBE) Research Program. Universally endorsed leader attributes, as well as attributes that are universally seen as impediments to outstanding leadership and culturally contingent attributes are presented here. The results support the hypothesis that specific aspects of charismatic/transformational leadership are strongly and universally endorsed across cultures.

This paper describes and discusses consolidated cultural variables computed by factor analysis from 9 original GLOBE variables of societal paracices, societal values, and differentiation scales.

A type of organizational reward system based on personal power is described and partially tested. The theory, developed from observations of Hungarian organizations, is grounded in theories of procedural justice and learned helplessness. Person-based organizational reward systems are characterized by highly valued rewards combined with personalistic criteria for reward distribution. Such organizational reward systems were hypothesized to lead to employee perceptions of organizational unfairness; negative evaluations of others; anxiety; and perceptions of self, collegial and organizational inefficacy. These hypotheses were supported in tests in a sample of three Hungarian state-owned organizations classified as having person-based systems and five non-person-based organizations (two Hungarian privately-owned companies, one American state-owned and two American privately-owned organizations). In addition, several behavioral effects of person-based reward systems were proposed: they foster bargaining behavior, withholding of information, avoidance of collaborative tasks, ingratiation and noncompliance with rules.

The political changes that have swept Hungary in the past few years have been truly revolutionary. However, its newly elected govemment has not begun comparably sweeping economic transformations through privatization. When the state has played such a dominating role in the economy, privatization of state-owned companies must be the centerpiece to any substantial economic reform (Komai, forthcoming; Stark, 1990; Tardos, 1989), and yet govemmental privatization programs have not moved rapidly in any of the formerly communist countries. Cultura organizationala constituie un domeniu relativ nou si deosebit de incitant al abordarilor moderne privitoare la management, aspect reliefat de intensele preocupari teoretice si pragmatice manifestate în ultimele decenii. Principalul sau merit este acela ca reliefeaza, odata în plus, importanta factorului uman în succesul oricarei activitati si necesitatea reconsiderarii rolului acestuia, nu doar ca un simplu element al costului produselor, lucrarilor sau serviciilor realizate, ci drept cea mai pretioasa resursa a unei organizatii, ca un veritabil capital, menit sa-i confere un adevarat atu concurential. Desi considerata “invizibila” de numerosi specialisti sau neglijata de o serie de manageri, cultura organizationala exercita un impact major asupra functionalitatii si performantelor întreprinderii moderne.

A tanulmány arra keresi a választ, hogy a kultúra illetve annak jellegzetes mintázatai mennyiben befolyásolják a gazdasági fejlettséget, fejlődőképességet. A kultúra mérése a GLOBE 62 országra kiterjedő adatbázisára alapozódik, a GLOBE kultúraváltozók és a társadalmi-gazdasági fejlettség különböző mutatószámai közötti kapcsolatokat (korrelációkat) mutatjuk be. Részletes elemzés mutatja ki a World Competitiveness Index (WCI) és a kultúra változók közötti kapcsolatot. A kutatási eredmények szerint a teljesítményorientáció, a jövőorientáció és a bizonytalanságkerülés a gazdasági fejlettség és a versenyképesség legmegbízhatóbb előrejelzői, emellett az intézményi kollektivizmus is pozitív korrelációt mutat több fejlettség mutatóval. A kutatási eredmények szerint ugyanakkor az erős csoport kollekvizmus és a nagy hatalmi távolság negatív prediktorai a gazdasági fejlettségnek és versenyképességnek.

This study sets out to test the assumption that concepts of leadership differ as a function of cultural differences in Europe and to identify dimensions which describe differences in leadership concepts across European countries. Middle‐level managers (N = 6052) from 22 European countries rated 112 questionnaire items containing descriptions of leadership traits and behaviours. For each attribute respondents rated how well it fits their concept of an outstanding business leader. The findings support the assumption that leadership concepts are culturally endorsed. Specifically, clusters of European countries which share similar cultural values according to prior cross‐cultural research (Ronen & Shenkar, 1985), also share similar leadership concepts. The leadership prototypicality dimensions found are highly correlated with cultural dimensions reported in a comprehensive cross‐cultural study of contemporary Europe (Smith, Dugan, & Trompenaars, 1996). The ordering of countries on the leadership dimensions is considered a useful tool with which to model differences between leadership concepts of different cultural origin in Europe. Practical implications for cross‐cultural management, both in European and non‐European settings, are discussed.
