Strictly within the standard electro-weak interaction, CP violation in the flavour conserving process $\eta \rightarrow \pi + \pi $ could originate from the mixing of the $\eta$ meson with the virtual scalar Higgs boson $ H^{0}$ via $W$ and top quark exchange. The parity-violation carried by weak gauge bosons makes the mixing possible by quantum effect at two-loop level. Nowhere the Kobayashi-Maskawa (KM) phase mechanism is needed. The phenomenon reveals an unexpected new role of the Higgs boson in the CP symmetry breaking. For the Higgs mass between 100-600 GeV, the $\eta \rightarrow \pi +\pi $ branching ratio is found to be $3.6 \cdot 10^{-26} - 2.4 \cdot 10^{-29}$ , hence CP violation mechanisms beyond the Standard Model are the only ones that could give rise to its observation at existing or near future $\eta$ factories, unless the Higgs mass is improbably as light as 550 $MeV$., Comment: 9 pages (Latex), 3 figures

We propose a phenomenological three component model describing the decay amplitude of the process $D_{s}^{+} \ra 3\pi$. The first component is a constant background, the second one is a Breit-Wigner amplitude associated to a quasi two-body $f_{0}(980) \pi^{+}$ state and the third one another Breit-Wigner amplitude corresponding to a possible quasi two-body $\rho(770) \pi$ state. We show that it is possible to reproduce the observed total rate for $D_{s}^{+} \ra \pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ as well as the two other measured branching ratios for the non resonant part and the resonant $f_{0}\pi^{+}$ one. Implication of the $\rho\pi^{+}$ state, of which an experimental limit has been given, is discussed. An upper bound in the 10 MeV range for the decay constant $f_{\pi'}$ of the $\pi(1300)$ meson is obtained . Predictions are given for the $D_{s}^{+} \ra \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\pi^{+}$ rate as well as for the $\pi^{+}$ and $\pi^{-}$ ($\pi^{0}$ and $\pi^{+}$) energy distributions for these two decay modes $D_{s}^{+} \ra \pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ ($D_{s}^{+} \ra \pi^{0}\pi^{0}\pi^{+}$) respectively., Comment: 23 pages + 8 pages (attached Postscript file of 9 figures), Latex

We show that the factorization assumption in colour-suppressed $B$ meson decays is not ruled out by experimental data on $B \ra K(K^*) + J/\Psi(\Psi^{'})$. The problem previously pointed out might be due to an inadequate choice of hadronic form factors. Within the Isgur-Wise SU(2) heavy flavour symmetry framework, we search for possible $q^2$-dependences of form factors that satisfy both the large longitudinal polarization $\rho_L$ observed in $B \ra K^* + J/\Psi$ and the relatively small ratio of rates $R_{J/\Psi} = \Gamma(B \ra K^* + J/\Psi)/\Gamma(B \ra K + J/\Psi)$. We find out that the puzzle could be essentially understood if the $A_1(q^2)$ form factor is frankly decreasing (instead of being almost constant or increasing as commonly assumed). The large discrepancy recently observed between $B \ra J/\Psi + K (K^*)$ data and commonly used hadronic form factor models might be due to a breakdown of the factorization assumption. By showing that the $B \ra \eta_c + K (K^*)$ rates can be calculated without relying on any form factor model, we propose a test of the factorization hypothesis. This test is free of possible uncertainties caused by final state interactions and $W$-exchange graph contributions. If factorization holds, the measurable ratio $\Gamma(B \ra \eta_c + K^*)/\Gamma(B \ra \eta_c + K )$ is predicted to be in the range from 0.18 to 0.95 when the CLEO II data on $B \ra J/\Psi + K (K^*)$ are used., Comment: Latex 17pages(excluded 2 figures),Preprint PAR/LPTHE/94-32

Using factorization we determine the allowed domains of the ratios of form factors, $x = A_2(0)/A_1(0)$ and $y = V(0)/A_1(0)$, from the experimentally measured ratio $R_h \equiv \Gamma(D_s^+ \ra \phi \rho^+)/\Gamma(D_s^+ \ra \phi \pi^+)$ assuming three different scenarios for the $q^2$-dependence of the form factors. We find that the allowed domains overlap with those obtained by using the experimentally measured ratio $R_{s\ell} = \Gamma(D^+_s \ra \phi \ell^+ \nu_{\ell})/\Gamma(D^+_s \ra \phi \pi^+)$ provided that the phenomenological parameter $a_1$ is $1.23$. Such a comparison presents a genuine test of factorization. We calculate the longitudinal polarization fraction, $\Gamma_L/\Gamma \equiv \Gamma(D_s^+ \ra \phi_L \rho^+_L)/\Gamma(D_s^+ \ra \phi \rho^+)$, in the three scenarios for the $q^2$-dependence of the form factors and emphasize the importance of measuring $\Gamma_L/\Gamma $. Finally we discuss the $q^2$-distribution of the semileptonic decay and find that it is rather insensitive to the scenarios for the $q^2$-dependence of the form factors, and unless very accurate data can be obtained it is unlikely to discriminate between the different scenarios. Useful information on the value of $x$ might be obtained by the magnitude of the $q^2$-distribution near $q^2 = 0$. However the most precise information on $x$ and $y$ would come from the knowledge of the longitudinal and left-right transverse polarizations of the final vector mesons in hadronic and/or semileptonic decays., Comment: Latex 10 pages( 4 figures), PAR/LPTHE/94-30

{}From Class I decays : $B^o \ra \pi^+ ( \rho^+ ) + D^- ( {D^*}^- )$, we determine $a_1$, and from Class III decays : $B^+ \ra \pi^+ ( \rho^+ ) + \ol{D}^o ( {\ol{D}^*}^o )$, we determine an allowed domain in the $( a_1, a_2 )$ plane. We find that within one standard deviation errors, the allowed band of $a_1$ from Class I decays is at least three standard deviations removed from the allowed domain $( a_1, a_2 )$ from Class III decays.If we expand the experimental errors to two standard deviations we do find a small intersection between the $a_1$ band and the allowed $( a_1, a_2 )$ domain. The results usually quoted in the literature lie in this intersection. We suggest : (1) an independent measurement of the branching ratio for the Class III decay, $B^+ \ra \rho^+ \ol{D}^o $, (2) a high-statistics measurement of the branching ratio of the Class I decay, $B \ra \ol{D} ( \ol{D}^* ) + D_s ( D_s^* )$ in both charged states, and (3) a measurement of the longitudinal polarization fraction in the Class III decay $B^+ \ra \rho^+ {\ol{D}^*}^o $ to shed more light on the questions involved ., Comment: 9pages(Latex)+4 figures(PS file appended), PAR/LPTHE/94-22

We establish restrictions on $B \ra K ( K^* )$ form factors imposed by recent data on $B \ra J/\Psi + K ( K^* ) $ decay rates and polarization. We show that these constraints are not satisfied by few commonly used models. Finally, we relate $B \ra K ( K^* )$ form factors to those in $D \ra K ( K^* )$ transitions using the heavy flavour symmetry as proposed by Isgur and Wise and discuss the uncertainties in this procedure.
