According to the research on fisheries, there are two main trade‐offs between these sustainability pillars. First, a fisheries industry's developing ecological health diminishes economic gains for fishermen. Second, individual fishermen's financial success undercuts fisheries communities' social goals. This paper aims to investigate the dynamic impact of global competitiveness on the sustainability of the fisheries industry in 27 European countries by considering the production of fisheries, enabling environments, ecosystems for innovation, market size, human capital, and economic growth between 1990 and 2022. At higher quantiles, the findings showed a strong positive association between enabling environment and fisheries sustainability by adopting MMQR with fixed effects, the new method of moments quantile regression. Additionally, in EU27 nations, the impact of human capital was positive and substantial from the first to ninth quantiles. Notably, the findings show that the EU14 developed nations have a greater level of development than the EU13 underdeveloped countries, which considerably benefits fisheries sustainability. Market size and economic growth were also found to condense fisheries sustainability in EU14 developed and EU13 developing countries, supporting the growth hypothesis for fisheries‐producing countries. Innovation ecosystem was found to increase fisheries sustainability across all quantiles. Notably, the findings show that the significant beneficial impact of the innovation ecosystem, market size, and economic development on the sustainability of fisheries is more significant in the emerging nations of the EU13 than in the developed countries of the EU14. With effective and environmentally friendly technology, policymakers may boost market competitiveness in the EU14 and EU13 countries and advance sustainable development objectives. Purpose: is to evaluate the modern role of transport infrastructure as the factor in the development of the regional economy and strengthening competitive positions outside the country using the example of China.Methods: the correlation-regression analysis, traditionally used to solve the task of the identifying influencing factors, was applied to the economic and transportation indicators across 28 Chinese regions for the year 2021. It was supplemented by the analysis of statistical data and the thematic case study of data on Chinese investments into the transport infrastructure projects both domestically, and abroad.Results: the assessment of infrastructure development of the railway and port infrastructure was carried out based on the analysis of the dynamics of the main indicators. The construction of a correlation and regression analysis model made it possible to form an idea of the impact of China's transport infrastructure on the gross regional product of the provinces. The degree of penetration of Chinese influence into other economies of the world through investments in transport infrastructure has been assessed. The tools for promoting infrastructure projects have been identified that characterize Chinese specifics and make it possible to ensure the country's competitiveness at the global level.Conclusions and Relevance: China is the striking example of the widespread construction of ports, railways, and highways, in addition to the creation of direct freight vehicles and dry cargo ships for the distribution of their products. The high importance of transport infrastructure and the number of employed people in this industry for the growth of the regional product of the provinces of China has been revealed. In the external circuit, the PRC is actively using the strategy of lending to other countries for the construction of infrastructure on their territories. The construction of roads, airports, seaports, power plants and transmission lines allow China to create infrastructure enclaves in developing countries to market its goods and export raw materials for subsequent processing. Borrowing the experience of the PRC in terms of mechanisms for granting grants and loans for the implementation of infrastructure projects will allow Russia to create an extensive system of movement of national goods to markets where they are most in demand in the territories of neighboring states.

This study investigates the level of e-readiness of the Sultanate of Oman’s port facilities and industries and explores their preparedness for global competitiveness in logistics and supply chain. The study employed a mixed research design. The study surveyed 286 industry experts from Muscat, Salalah, and Sohar ports. This research carefully examines how port infrastructure, technology, laws, and electronic human resources management (e-HRM) interact with port e-readiness and how it affects the port’s ability to compete internationally. The results show that port facilities, legal and regulatory frameworks, technological infrastructure, and global competitiveness are significantly positively correlated. Interesting to note that, e-HRM positively correlates with global competitiveness whereas it negatively impacts port e-readiness. The study indicates that the existing port infrastructure, legal and regulatory framework and human resources need to be enhanced to improve the country’s global competitiveness. Importers and exporters were facing some challenges with unclear documentation procedures which are detrimental to improving the competitiveness of Oman ports and logistics facilities. The results show that the country has invested a lot of resources in improving the internet connectivity of the major ports and logistics industries which is critical in enhancing the country’s competitiveness. The study used structural equation modelling to highlight the importance of improving port infrastructure, legal and regulatory frameworks, technology adoption, and e-HRM practices to strengthen Oman’s position in the global market. To achieve this, the study recommends the development of an e-readiness strategy, investment in port facilities, review of legal and regulatory frameworks, and optimisation of e-HRM practices.

T he global economy significantly relies on the air conditioning sector, which has been gaining increased importance worldwide and in Türkiye due to the impact of global warming, climate change, and the diminishing energy resources. As a multifaceted industry encompassing air conditioning, heating, installation, insulation, refrigeration and ventilation sector has been adapting to the growing demand for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions. This study analyzes air conditioning industry of Türkiye and its sub-product groups in terms of its ability to compete internationally, spanning from 2001 to 2021. To assess competitiveness, we employed various analytical tools, including Balassa's Revealed Comparative Advantages Index (RCA), Vollrath Indices (RXA, RMP, RTA, RC), Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantages Index (RSCA), Trade Balance Index (TBI), and Product Mapping method. Notably, there is no research that scrutinize the competitiveness of the Turkish air conditioning industry utilizing the Product Mapping. The study findings emphasize that air conditioning industry of Türkiye has competitiveness. Within the sub-product group, the analysis reveals that Türkiye has competitiveness for 11 products, a near-limit competitiveness for 3 products, and a lack of competitiveness for 10 products. This research explores the strategic directions for the development of the education sector in Ukraine, focusing on enhancing human capital, modernizing educational practices, and increasing global competitiveness. It identifies key priorities, including improving the qualifications of academic personnel, developing labor market-aligned curricula, and providing psychological support for students. The research also emphasizes the importance of modernizing learning environments, expanding remote education, and fostering cooperation between educational institutions and the private sector. Additionally, the study highlights the role of international collaboration and institutional transparency in promoting innovation and long-term growth. The findings underscore the need for a comprehensive approach to education reform, aimed at improving teaching quality, inclusivity, and adaptability in response to evolving global challenges. By focusing on these strategic priorities, Ukraine's education sector can enhance its resilience, competitiveness, and contribution to national economic development.

There is a rising demand to find new patterns for economic growth and development, and improving competitiveness, where the role of logistics should be considered in more detail. The main purpose of the article is to examine and compare the effects of countries’ logistics performance in EU, BRICS, and ASEAN, and to test the role of individual logistics components. The research method is based on panel data using fixed effects regressions for the period 2007-2018. The results confirm the positive impact of logistics on economic growth and competitiveness in the total sample and EU countries, while logistics contributes to rising competitiveness in BRICS countries. Individual contributions of LPI components were also identified, presenting the importance of sub-indices for economic growth and national competitiveness. The research implications emphasize the role of logistics as a factor of economic growth and development and highlight its potential in rising national competitiveness. The main contribution is new evidence on the effects of logistics at the level of selected groups of countries, which highlights the importance of this sector and provides recommendations for economic policymakers.

This study examines the relationship between innovation and global competitiveness in European Union (EU28) member states and the differences between EU13 and EU15 countries categorised by wealth level from 1997 to 2019. The study employs the Parks-Kmenta panel data method considering heteroscedasticity, serial correlation and cross-section dependence to analyse the impact of innovation, income inequality, unemployment and labour force share in national income on global competitiveness. The results reveal that innovation has the highest positive effect on global competitiveness, with a 1% increase in the innovation index leading to 13.4% and 11.1% increases in global competitiveness for the EU28 and EU15-EU13, respectively; a 1% increase in income inequality leads to a 0.53% and 0.55% increase in global competitiveness for the EU28 and EU15-EU13, respectively; a 1% increase in unemployment causes a 0.12% and 0.13% decrease in global competitiveness for the EU28 and EU15-EU13, respectively; a 1% increase in labour's share in national income results in a 0.18% and 0.17% decrease in global competitiveness for the EU28 and EU15-EU13, respectively. The analysis also shows that EU15's global competitiveness is 11.7% higher than EU13. This study concludes that innovation is the primary determinant of global competitiveness; however, it may come at the cost of a decrease in labour's share in national income and income distribution equality. This study is conducted to observe the combined effects of Liner Shipping Connectivity (LSC) and Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) on LP in mediating the Quality of Port and Infrastructure (PORT). We selected 28 Asian economies and 1 special administrative region (Hong Kong) counting the year of 2007–2018. Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Model (PLS–SEM) with an extension of the Importance–Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) was applied. Empirical evidence derived from the path diagram has revealed that LSC and global competitiveness in mediating the PORT have significant effects of accelerating LP, leading to higher competitiveness in terms of strategic development and yielding better connectivity. Due to limited resources, Asian decision-makers need a guidance to focus on how to improve LP. This work also helps to highlight the dimensions of LSC and global competitiveness factors to be concentrated on and the policies to be implemented in this regard.

We quantify, using data from the World Bank's Enterprise Surveys and the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index, the empirical relationship between global competitiveness and R&D investment activity as well as the independent relationship between global competitiveness and R&D investments across geographic regions of economic development. We also explore alternative measures of the effectiveness of R&D investments. Our findings suggest that R&D investments are a possible policy target variable in high-income regions for policy makers to consider for increasing firms' global competitiveness. As a substantially capital-intensive venture, the distribution network of the geothermal business is disproportionately clustered around the project designing phase. The profound geothermal industry is broad, and consequently the geothermal economy differs substantially from one place to another. The primary goal of this study is to analyze the effect of factors relating to global competitiveness along with economic growth on the sustainability of geothermal energy among European 27 countries. Employing auto regressive distributing lag (ARDL), the major findings suggest that a significant rise in the geothermal power production sustainable development can occur in the 14 European Union emerged economies applying global competitiveness criteria than in EU13 developing economies. Among additional criteria, a conducive environment, intellectual capital, market shares, as well as an innovation ecosystem contributes more significantly to the sustainability of geothermal energy among the 14 classed as established in this research than the 13 emerging economies. The results suggest that geothermal power sustainability among the European countries regions could attain a sustainable increased level of geothermal energy generation by putting in place the necessary global competitiveness determinants for the EU 2030 Energy Union goals to be achieved. The attainment of these Energy Union goals will assist in combating climate change and fighting environmental pollution. Three estimators were adopted to confirm that all calculated projections made in the study are said to be valid. The global competitiveness measures should be made better effective by the EU nations and this will help in achieving a pollution-free society and environment. Authorities in charge of policy and law-making in the EU regions should participate more in global competitiveness for geothermal energy production to become sustainable. Cointegrated strategies that will promote sustainability should be stressed by policymakers in the EU. Indian tea exports contribute notably to the economy and reflect the nation's cultural heritage. The complexities of Indian tea exports are shaped by various factors, including auction prices, inflation, exchange rate fluctuations, production patterns, seasonal variations, export quantities, and lending rates. This study comprehensively explores these interconnected influences on export pricing dynamics. The research aims to provide a holistic understanding of the multifaceted determinants of Indian tea export prices, offering valuable insights for strategic decision-making in a competitive global market. By examining historical data from 2015 to 2021 and utilizing regression analysis and automated linear modeling, the study sheds light on the interplay of these factors and their impact on Indian tea's export prices. The main purpose of this study is to identify the dynamics of economic performance and competitiveness in the European Union (EU-28) countries and their convergences over the two periods, 2008-2015 and 2015-2019. The comparative analysis is used to answer the research question with applied the hierarchical cluster analysis, Ward's method, and t-test to test the set hypothesis. Eurostat and World Economic Forum data were used for the period 2008-2019. The empirical results confirmed our hypothesis that there are convergences in the key indicators of trade openness, exports as % of gross domestic product (GDP), market shares as % in world trade, GDP per capita, and global competitiveness index. The study contributes to the empirical analysis on the existence of convergences in a group of indicators of economic performance, trade openness, and global competitiveness of the EU-28 countries. The common clusters were formed, and the set hypothesis was tested regarding the convergences of the EU-28 countries by means of a hierarchical cluster analysis. Trade openness and export market shares in world trade, and competitiveness of EU-28 countries are important for trade policies improving global competitiveness and improving convergences in the heterogeneity among the EU countries.

This research aims to achieve early standardization for battery swapping in line with domestic capabilities and global standards, and to protect Indonesian battery swap stakeholders. By distributing questionnaires to 190 respondents, the Framework for Analysis, Comparison, and Testing of Standards (FACTS) approach was used to analyze stakeholder needs, compare global standards regarding battery swaps, and validate the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) framework. An open innovation approach was considered to integrate a FACTS approach with open participation, mutual understanding, and consensus to generate parameters. Therefore, characteristics of open participation, mutual understanding, and consensus were identified using FACTS to catalyze market needs as well as stakeholder needs. The relationship between SNI implementation variables, national uniqueness, and stakeholder needs was predicted using structural equation modeling (SEM). We found that the proposed constructs—i.e., electromagnetic compatibility, equipment construction requirements, marking and instruction, and protection against electric shock—positively affect SNI implementation. Meanwhile, the SNI implementation, national uniqueness, and stakeholder protection positively affect SNI acceptance. Therefore, SNI acceptance can be obtained by considering SNI implementation, national uniqueness, and stakeholder protection. The findings of this study can be used to develop an SNI battery swap test that is globally competitive, has national characteristics, and considers domestic capabilities when developing the SNI documentation. The main objective of this study is to shed light on the effects of Chinese investments on the global competitiveness of Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana. The study employs a qualitative technique based on depth semi-structured interviews. In the in-depth interviews with field professionals and experts, four questions were asked to one participant from each country. The depth interviews show that Ghana and Ethiopia have the most competitive potential respectively. On the other hand, Chad has no chance of competing due to limited resources. While Chad is characterized by poor governance and limited economic freedom, Ghana and Ethiopia have relatively a large capacity to attract foreign investment. China, as a strong competitor, uses various strategies to beat local rivals in Chad, Ethiopia, and Ghana. In this regard, it offers a wide range of products of average quality at affordable prices to customers in Chad and Ethiopia, while benefiting from large-scale production, economies of scale, and tax breaks in Ghana. This is the first article of a series, devoted to a comprehensive problem of economic and geopolitical rivalry of the leading global powers in energy sector. It is dedicated to a number of topical issues of world economy and Russian economic environment. A systematic analysis of long-term world energy economy development trends is performed. For this purpose, a cause-and-effect relationship between international supply chains and energy procurement, on one hand, and revolutionary changes of international economic relations, caused by USA - China and Russia - USA, EU sanctions exchange, on the other, is derived. It is concluded that a developed gas industry is to play a decisive role in insuring global energy leadership of the major global powers on a mid- and long-term basis. A scenario analysis of further European gas market developments is provided. The external effects of developing gas industry are contemplated for Russian economic environment. In this framework most efficient options of action by Russian state are observed.

This article analyses educational programs for preparing a generation with global competitiveness in the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Jambi University using a qualitative approach and critical analysis. Furthermore, the data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is the Miles and Huberman model, including reduction, presentation, and verification. The results showed that there are several programs to prepare a generation of global competitiveness, including 1) Organizing training and workshops to prepare a generation with global competitiveness, 2) Reframing for Global Competitiveness, 3) Organizing Focus Group Discussions (FGD), 4) Implementation of Student Extracurricular Activities, 5) Socialization of Student Achievement Improvement.

The article examines the concept of investment strategies in the conditions of global competitiveness and defines their types. The main forms of psychotypes of investors are highlighted. The behavior of investors during 2014–2022 and the Kearney Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index 2022 were analyzed. It is emphasized that the war between Russia and Ukraine did not greatly affect the behavior of investors, who are still relatively optimistic about the prospects of Europe and Eurasia. In the financial world, a wide range of factors affect the prices of certain assetsSince the trend of deglobalization is accelerating, against the background of the coronavirus and the escalation of trade conflicts, it is impossible to bypass macro factors when analyzing and choosing a company for investment. Each company conducts business in a certain industry and its development depends on the macroclimate in the country and the world in general. Indicators such as the level of interest rates, inflation, employment, unemployment, etc. are taken into account to determine investment directions. The global pandemic of covid-19 has caused significant human and economic losses. The global economy contracted in 2020. However, if we analyze the investment activity, the years 2021 and 2022 were quite active. If you compare the total value of the global stock market in 2020 and before the covid-19 pandemic, it is almost unchanged. The reason for this may be the following factors: a gradual increase in the production of goods and services, an increase in the employment rate of the population, significant progress in the creation of a vaccine against covid-19, etc. The recovery of the world's economies is accelerating and does not foresee a further decline. Therefore, creating new opportunities for business strategies will require a comprehensive solution to both old and new problems. The recovery can and should be used to invest in sustainable companies and infrastructure. Increasing exports, integration into global value-added chains, setting up the production of environmentally friendly products and promoting IT startups will create opportunities for economic development. The article discusses a study on the intellectual structure of global competitiveness (GC) research. Topics mentioned include the differences between the overall GC publications and marketing and international business GC articles, and the theoretical perspectives that have impacted the GC domain including the resource-based view of the firm, market orientation, industrial organization, and transaction cost economics. Also provided are the implications and limitations of the study.

The study is devoted to the investigation of the educational determinants as components in shaping the level of socio-economic development of countries around the world, including assessment of the impact of national higher education system development indicators on the determinants of economic development, in particular macroeconomic, innovation, and technology determinants.Based on the grouping of 50 countries, a matrix of relationships between the Universitas 21 index and global competitiveness index was constructed. It is determined that despite the close correlation between the indices as a whole (0.96), there is a certain differentiation of influence in groups. The high impact of education on global competitiveness (0.76) was found in the group of countries with a medium level of competitiveness, moderate impact (0.54) – in the group of highly competitive countries, weak impact (0.38) – in the group of countries with a low level of competitiveness. Based on the correlation-regression analysis, the study proposes a structural-logical graph of the relationship between educational and economic indicators and quantifies it accordingly. The results show that the level of higher education competitiveness is closely correlated with such indicators as the level of global innovation development (0.8 over the period 2012-2020), the level of the knowledge intensity of GDP (0.73), and the level of socio-economic development (0.75). The results will allow changes in education indicators to be taken into account in the context of their impact on economic development and global development strategies.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of communication management development for the development of religious harmony with community outputs that can be globally competitive. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive analysis approach. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis of research results was carried out using qualitative methods. The sustainability of the enterprise seen in contemporary society is based on the assumption that the economy and the environment must be reconciled and connected through a new and complex approach. In a similar perspective, this article reflects the activity of apparel producers from the Republic of Moldova, mainly oriented towards foreign markets. Thus, the development models of apparel producers must focus on the integration of environmental aspects, based on sustainable growth. In this article, the authors propose to empower producers to adopt the environmental commitment by establishing environmental policy and strategies within an environmental management system. Therefore, these commitments should among the priorities of long-term development business strategies to ensure increased efficiency, nature protection and the achievement of sustainability goals. Environmental actions are essential in creating the image of a responsible producer concerned with the quality of life of future generations.
