Cervical cancer remains a significant public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to screening and vaccination is limited. It is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with approximately 570,000 new cases and 311,000 deaths in 2018 alone [1]. Persistent infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly HPV-16 and HPV-18, is the leading cause of cervical cancer, responsible for nearly all cases [2]. The introduction of HPV vaccination and improved cervical screening methods have significantly reduced the incidence of cervical cancer in many developed countries [3].However, the global burden of this disease remains high, especially in regions with limited access to these preventive measures. Impression materials are crucial in restorative and prosthetic dentistry for obtaining accurate replicas of teeth and surrounding tissues. The accuracy and stability of these impressions directly impact the fit and function of dental restorations. This comparative study focuses on two commonly used impression materials: vinyl polysiloxane (VPS), an addition silicone, and alginate, a hydrocolloid, and evaluates their physical and chemical properties to determine their suitability for various clinical applications. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparison between VPS and alginate, focusing on the key physical and chemical properties that influence their performance, such as dimensional stability, setting time, hydrophilicity, elastic recovery, and tear strength. Keeping the pulp’s vitality must be the dentist’s first priority. The purpose of this study is to compare two types of dental materials frequently used in the dental office for non exposed pulp healing (indirect capping): calcium hydroxide and MTA. We compared radiological and clinical findings of the dentine bridge formed after six months of indirect capping. Material and Method: 13 patients were treated in the Department of Caryology and Restorative Odontology of the Dental Faculty, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Gr. T. Popa” Iasi for the conservative treatment of multiple decays. They had pulp dressing by indirect pulp capping technique.Results: MTA dressing (indirect pulp capping technique) is associated with 55% of the success meanwhile the use of calcium hydroxide is associated with 60% succes rate. Conclusions: Choosing indirect pulp capping techique was based on a careful pulp diagnosis, which was supported by the history of pain and clinical and radiographic findings. This study showed the efficacy of the mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and calcium hydroxide for maintaining the pulp vitality, compying with a good technique and with good cooperation of the patient.

Two new series of hybrid quinoline-sulfonamide complexes (M 2+ : Zn 2+ , Cu 2+ , Co 2+ and Cd 2+ ) derivatives ( QSC ) were designed, synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial activity. The synthesis is straightforward and efficient, involving two steps: acylation of aminoquinoline followed by complexation with metal acetate (Cu 2+ , Co 2+ and Cd 2+ ) or chloride (Zn 2+ ). The synthesized QSC compounds were characterized by FTIR and NMR spectroscopy and by X-ray diffraction on single crystal. The QSC compounds were preliminary screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity and the obtained results are very promising. In this respect, the hybrid N -(quinolin-8-yl)-4-chloro-benzenesulfonamide cadmium (II), considered as leading structure for further studies, has an excellent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923 (with a diameters of inhibition zones of 21 mm and a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 19.04 × 10 -5 mg/mL), a very good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC25922 (with a diameters of inhibition zones of 19 mm and a MIC of 609 × 10 -5 mg/mL), and again an excellent antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC10231 (with a diameters of inhibition zones of 25 mm and a MIC of 19.04 × 10 -5 mg/mL).
