Objective: to estimate the production price of strawberry "mother" plant of the CP-Jacona variety in both TIS and TS, and to compare these prices with the price of the imported "mother" plant. Design/Methodology/Approach: micropropagation methods have been used as an effective means for the mass production of pathogen-free plants, in small spaces and relatively short periods of time. In particular, in vitro Temporary Immersion Systems (TIS) applied to the production of strawberry "mother" plants have been shown to offer technological and quantitative benefits, as well as a higher proliferation rate, compared to the in vitro Traditional System (TS). Despite the benefits of TIS, these systems have not been evaluated in terms of the price at which the "mother" plant can be produced and whether it is a profitable option to supply strawberry producers. The traditional method of financial analysis was applied. Results: the price of the CP-Jacona variety plant obtained from the third production period through TIS was lower than the price of the imported Festival or Camarosa varieties. Findings/Conclusions: both the high production rate and the low rate of loss from handling in TIS were fundamental aspects to obtain lower prices than those of imported varieties. Objective: To carry out a diagnosis and assess the importance of backyard agriculture and livestock production in rural communities of the XV District in the South Huasteca Region of the State of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, on the social, economic and nutritional context of the population. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was carried out with two blocks of surveys, the first with the local government and the second with peasants, evaluating the socioeconomic status, importance of livestock and agriculture, nutritional status and culture. The method was deductive and descriptive; the information was with multivariate analysis of principal components. Results: Government support does not reduce poverty. Families feel secure with their material goods. The nutritional status of the population is lacking. Raising chickens, turkeys and Creole pigs prioritizes livestock activity. Self-consumption and the commercialization of plant species is a traditional activity. There is a culinary culture. Limitations on study/Implications: The restriction of information by the municipal government; the pandemic problems to generate more information from the surveys. Conclusions: It is necessary to create efficient programs that improve agricultural and livestock production in the region, with the purpose of improving the nutritional status of the population and generating economic resources to reduce poverty.
ABSTRACT The European Union and Mexico have established different approaches to the reduction of regional inequalities and their results have also been different in reducing them. While in the EU, there has been a reduction of these disparities, an example of the success of the implemented regional policy; in Mexico, there have been a number of difficulties in reducing the social and economic differences that exist in the different regions of the country. Considering this scenario, the hypothesis proposed in this research conceives regionalization as a dynamic process in constant evolution, and which must be based on a territorial model that will detonate the potentiality of the territories and thus, gradually eliminate the multiple imbalances that exist among the different regions in Mexico. Given that the regional differences in Mexico are quite considerable, the objective of the present research is to build a territorial model for Mexico that will give the basic elements to understand and articulate mechanisms to promote a regionalization adapted to the current development demands. To corroborate the objective, a methodological process was carried out, with the following stages: Firstly, a revision was made of the evolution of the European regional policy, its instrumentation, and the scenario upon which it is applied (NUTS), where the concept of cohesion is fundamental, since it emphasizes the principle that reducing the differences in gross income and wealth among regions is beneficial for the population in general. Next, the regional policy in Mexico was revised, doing an analysis of the potential elements of inequality and their distribution in the territory, as well as the instruments and different scenarios proposed for its application. A third stage is focused on generating a conceptual model, to finally try to apply it. Through this process can be identified just how much the European and Mexican regional policies give elements for the construction of the model. Among the elements mentioned are principles for the application of policies, institutional architecture, funding, programs, and a regional approach centered on helping the regions with a greater relative lag. The model emphasizes the last element, where the proposition is that the objectives of development should always be regionalized. The basic elements proposed by the regional development model are: the delimitation of a series of layers, taking into account the current administrative divisions, and with a functional regional approach; choosing indicators that will measure the differences in inequality and level of development so that through these, the territory can be divided into different objective regions; a statistical procedure; a techno-political negotiation; and a period of validity. Complementary to these, principles are proposed for the application of the territorial development policy, an institutional architecture, funding, and pilot programs.

- Abstract

Objective: To identify the factors affecting the demand for berries in Mexican households, as well as the behavior in face of variations in economic income. Design/Methodology/Approach: In order to analyze the demand, microdata were used from the National Income-Expenditure Survey of Households 2018 (Encuesta Nacional Ingreso Gasto de los Hogares, ENIGH) from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Geografía e Informática, INEGI), and for its modelling the Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS) model was used. Results: Because of their Marshallian elasticity, berries are an elastic good (-1.0316), and because of their expenditure elasticity they are a luxury good (1.0691). In terms of crossed Marshallian elasticities, sweet fruits and sugary beverages were identified as substitute goods with elasticity of 0.0013 and 0.0380, respectively, while semi-acid fruits and melons would be complementary goods, with elasticities of -0.0191 and -0.0184, respectively. Study Limitations/Implications: Given that most of the time series of the berries lack disaggregation and sufficient information, it is difficult to analyze each component of the group separately; therefore, it was decided to analyze the group of berries and its relationship with other goods; in addition, the ENIGH database was selected, which provides more information. Conclusions: There are state differences in the response to changes in prices and income with regard to the demand for berries, so that facing a generalized increase in household income consumption would increase much more in the center of the country than in the south-southeast.

- Abstract
This article, derived from a quantitative research, of a quasi-experimental type, proposed studying the use of time with the simulation of the industrial robotics system in the cleaning and selection of fruits. The population consisted of the daily quantity of mango (900) and pineapple (700) units processed in a period of 26 working weeks. The information came from the statistics managed and maintained by Agrocalidad, the data unified and consolidated by the National Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (SINAGAP) and the information provided by the simulation of industrial robotics, implemented with software of ABB Robotics. Once the information package was obtained, the statistical package R 3.2.x. Group G1 consisted of 55 days of work by an average packing house. While group G2 was designated by the time records used in the two (2) parts of the cleaning process in the 55 days. It is concluded that the traditional manual process of cleaning and selection of fruits increases the amount of time used per unit; while in the automated process with industrial robotics, it maintains a tendency to stability between 3.2 minutes for the handle and 2.7 minutes for the pineapple., Este artículo derivado de una investigación cuantitativa, de tipo cuasi experimental, planteó estudiar el uso del tiempo con la simulación del sistema de robótica industrial en la limpieza y selección de frutas.

BOX-Jenkins forecasting , *STATISTICS , *EGGS , *DECISION making , *STATISTICAL models , *DIETARY proteins - Abstract
The chicken egg is one of the most highly demanded foods in Mexico, since it is an accessible source of protein, it is easy to prepare, versatile and widely available in the market. In 2016 the consumption per capita in Mexico was 23.1 kg; in addition, it accounted for the highest consumption in the world, compared to other protein sources. The aim of this study was to develop a method to forecast monthly nominal prices for white eggs paid to the producer in México (PPHBP). The data were from the period between 2000 and 2016 and we used the Box-Jenkins method for Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA). The parameters of the models were estimated using the maximum likelihood model with the Statistical Analysis System software. A model based on the PPHBP series was adapted for the period between 2000 and 2016, and it was validated with the data for January to December 2017. The best model estimated was SARIMA (0, 1, 1) X (1, 0, 1)s=12 and it indicated that the PPHBPs are explained by the prices recorded in the past two and twelve months. The values forecasted for 2017 were near to the values observed. The SARIMA model represented with accuracy the PPHBP in the following year, and it provided information to help planning and making decisions in the poultry sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Given the water restriction in the Valley of Mexico, where population groups do not have access to water distribution networks or access is restricted, a market for water supplied by tank cars (pipes) is generated. The objective was to analyze the marketing and supply chain of the water distributed by pipes in the East of the Valley of Mexico with data obtained in 2017, as well as the participating agents. The direct method of the marketing channel was used following the product since it is extracted from the well, sold to the “piperos", who transport it and sell it to the final consumer. The owner of a well was interviewed and fifty interviews were conducted with piperos, with the information the costs incurred by each agent, as well as the respective profit margins and rates, were calculated. It was found that the highest absolute margin per m³ is obtained by piperos ($52.63) while the pocero is smaller ($14.75). However, when weighting the margins for the respective costs, the highest profit rate (1 180%) is obtained by the pocero, while that of the piperos is lower (206%). It is concluded that the water market supplied by pipes is extremely profitable, because it is not a regulated market, and that if public policies were established through regulation, liquid prices could be reduced in favor of consumers. - Abstract
The implementation of the Bologna Process has drastically changed the higher educational system, changing it to a model based on skills or competences that students must acquire during their university education. Moreover, this change has also introduced a periodical evaluation process of new degrees. This evaluation process requires the gathering of evidence during the different academic terms where the degree is offered. Among all the evidence that needs to be collected, the different day-to-day activities related to the learning goals and competences, as well as the coordination between professors who teach the degrees are highlighted. The DALGS system has been created as a support tool to design degree curricula by taking into account the learning goals and the different activities implemented by the students that help to gather the coordination activities conducted by professors. This report describes the design and functionality of the DALGS system, highlighting the assistance provided by this tool to gather evidence needed to demonstrate the quality of education during an external evaluation process.

In order to determine the factors that affect the pork market in Mexico, a model of simultaneous equations was used, made up of one equation for supply, one for demand, three for price transmissions and one for foreign trade balance identity. Elasticities were calculated for periods of closed (1960-1985) and open (1986-2002) economy. The results indicate that in the last period, pork production responded elastically to technology, and inelastically to product and balanced food prices, since the elasticities obtained were 1.65, 0.58, and -0.29, respectively. In the same period, demand responded inelastically to the factors that determine it, obtaining elasticities of -0.33 for pork price, 0.16 for beef, 0.18 for the private consumption budget, and 0.30 for the urbanization process. The foreign trade balance responded elastically to all the mentioned factors as determinants of supply and demand. Finally, the results indicate that external conditions have a reduced impact upon the main variables of the market, since the elasticities that relate international price to supply, demand, and foreign trade balance were only 0.07, -0.04, and -0.76, respectively.

- Abstract
In the middle of the last decade, two plants to clean and to classified black bean began operation in Sombrerete and Calera, Zacatecas. To place both plants, communication access routes were considered; however, while Sombrerete takes first place in the bean state production, Calera generates between 1 and 2%. In value aggregation projects it is important the adequate location of plants, because this allows to diminish the transportation costs of raw material. To know if the plants were located optimally, a linear programming model that minimizes cost of distribution and production was used. The results indicate that the lowest costs of transportation of raw material correspond to Juan Aldama-Sombrerete, Fresnillo-Sombrerete, RÃo Grande -Sombrerete and Miguel Auza-Sombrerete with 543,000, 621,000, 655,000 and 671,000 pesos; this indicates that the plant in Sombrerete was optimally located while the municipalities of Juan Aldama, Fresnillo, RÃo Grande and Miguel Auza would have been better options than the municipality of Calera., Con la finalidad de limpiar y clasificar el frijol negro producido en Zacatecas, a mediados de la década pasada entraron en operación dos plantas de beneficio en los municipios de Sombrerete y Calera.

Objetive: To determine the socioeconomic factors that affect the yield of the cocoa crop (Theobroma cacao L.) in Nicaragua. This research will contribute to provide information, precise and necessary to the design of projects and research focused to the needs and reality of cocoa crops smolholders. Methodology: A multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) and multinomial logistic regression (MLR) were performed. 28 social and economic variables were used. A survey in 2018 with a sample of 140 farms, from a universe of 923, was conducted, 23 communities located in the municipalities of Rancho Grande, Río Blanco and Matiguás in the North center of Nicaragua Results: The MCA results indicate that the correlated variables with the greatest impact were the change in yield and the support received by the producers. The decrease in yields is due to the lack of of support, but also to formal support, represented mainly as a acces to credit, the increase in yields occurs when informal support is received. Conclusions: The yield of cocoa changes according to the support received. Limitations: The research shows that cocoa production in the área of study is affected according to the type of support received. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Animal protein is basic in the Mexicans diet and the mains sources are the meat of chicken, beef and pig. In 2011, 60 kilograms per person were consumed, and 16.5 kilos was of bovine. To establish and quantify the effect on the Mexican beef market and its main determinants variables an econometric model was designed and estimated with two stages least squares with secondary information for the period 1970-2011. A context of open economy for the beef market was considered, with increasing production cost and loss of participation in the national market. The supply is inelastic to the producer price and the demand is elastic to the consumer price, the import price of meat and grains affects the supply, demand and the foreign trade of balance. - Abstract
Since its appearance in late 2019, COVID-19 has become a global pandemic, having negative mental health consequences in the society. Here we aim at correlating high anxiety with negative thoughts, as a consequence of COVID-19. We analyzed the impacts of COVID19 in the society as well as the different anxiety levels and severity in a sample of 266 participants, who completed the STAI questionnaire and the Covid Scale questionnaire online, both implemented for this study. The main takeaway is a direct correlation between anxiety (trait and state) and the mental health factor risk. In addition, we found a high correlation between loss of social contact, less leisure activities and mental health. Gender differences were also observed when maintaining a good mental health. The results have been found to be consistent with previous studies, and it is recommended to continue investigating the relationship between anxiety and the perception of the consequences of COVID-19. Key words: COVID-19, SARS-Cov-2, trait anxiety, state anxiety, mental health.

The present study aimed to clarify the relationships between vulnerability to eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia nervosa) and personality factors (narcissistic disorder, borderline personality disorder, perfectionism) and BMI. For this purpose, a sample of 210 university students (82.3% female) who voluntarily and anonymously completed the MPS (perfectionism), SCID-II (personality disorders) and EDI-2 (ED) questionnaires were studied. Intersex differences were found for vulnerability to ED, with females being more prone to ED. The findings highlight that no single factor is a unique predictor for ED vulnerability. However, the set of variables mentioned above proved to be of interest, as each of them explained a percentage of the variance of the EDI-2 questionnaire, which measures ED. It is proposed for future research to study the relationship of the variables mentioned above with other socio-demographic variables (socio-economic factor and social status), as well as the relationship of self-perception, BMI limitations and the differences between the study branches.

Emotional Intelligence (EI), defined as the ability to perceive and express emotions, has been quantified as a trait and as a competence. The purpose of this study was to systematically review the available evidence on the relationship between EI and measures of EI. PsychInfo, Cochrane, and PuntoQ were searched for relevant articles in English and Spanish, and 104 eligible studies were identified. Together, these studies provide strong evidence that trait EI and competency EI are used to measure EI but it is trait EI that is used more frequently. The most studied variables that have been related to EI have been clinical, personality and emotional.

The present study aimed to assess the Dark Triad in the subclinical population and the analysis of its relationship with temperament (neuroticism, cordiality, responsibility and aggressiveness), personality disorders and emotional and metacognitive abilities, hence the reason for including transdiagnosis in this research. A sample composed of 141 subjects was obtained, who completed an online questionnaire composed of the following instruments: SD3, NEO-PI-R, ZKA-PQ/SF, IPDE, MAI and TMMS-24. For statistical analysis, the SPSS program was used. Among the results found, significant intersex differences between various factors, significant correlations between the Dark Triad and the variables studied and even very significant predictions between facets and some factors stand out. Consistent results were observed with similar studies, but it should be noted that it would be relevant to continue collecting information due to the novelty of these studies.
