Microsatellite markers succeeded to reveal different population genetic parameters. The present work aimed to investigate the genetic assignment and structure of the Tunisian meat sheep breeds. (Barbarin (BB), Western Thin Tail (WTT), and Black Thibar (BT)).The current study also opted for testing different methods of assignment implemented in several programs for genetic identification and traceability purposes of these breeds and for assessing whether these markers could be useful for an efficient genetic assignment of these ovine breeds. The genotypes of 90 animals (30 samples per breed) were typed for 22 microsatellite markers. All the loci displayed a high polymorphic content (between 0.561 and 0.884). The GENECLASS2 and the WHICHLOCI programs were used to choose the most powerful markers (17 microsatellites). The FLOCK program was more efficient with 22 markers. Genetic differentiation tests (FST = 0.0127) and assignment of individuals to populations revealed the highest level of misassignment in BB and WTT breeds, while the BT breed revealed the highest percentage of individuals assigned to itself. The reduction of the number of microsatellites (from 22 to 17) does not affect the assessment of the genetic structure of Tunisian sheep breeds. This result shed the light on the importance of the shift towards lambs with thin tails imposed by the butchers. As part of the characterization and identification of varieties of chickpeas, we have undertaken prospecting and collection of plant material through the Wilaya of Tlemcen.In the present work two landrace Garbaansa and Bled, were used where the goal was to characterize and analyze the effect of the genotype environment interaction. The analysis of the morphometric data showed that the height of the plant depends in its expression of the genotype × environment interaction, the total number of pods per plant is unique to the genetics of the species and its expression is dependent on the genotype × environment interaction. The number of seeds per pod is a genotype-specific trait that is influenced by the environment and is the result of interaction between the latter two. The size of the chickpea grain is related to the environment, the genotype and the expression of which comes from the interaction of the medium × genotype

The Barbary sheep (Ammotragus lervia) is a hoofed animal ranked globally as a vulnerable species. The Tlemcen hunting reserve is one of the structures that aims to protect, preserve and develop this species in ex-situ, but the problem is that the reserve does not have the history of its provenance; On the basis of this observation, we have highlighted our study, which is divided into two parts. The first part focus on a morphometric study targeting 42 adult individuals, 18 of which were imported from the United Arab Emirates and 24 developed in Algeria; this study focused on 18 variables including 15 quantitative and 3 qualitative. The data collected were subjected to a statistical analysis by the software R which; the principal component analysis (PCA) and the ascending hierarchical classification that the two populations are distinct from each other without significant separation since the work has was conducted on the same species. In addition, we have been able to identify specific subjects of each population that can be used as breeders. As for the second part, it is a phylogenetic study targeting the population of Algeria only, in which a molecular analysis of 6 collected samples has allowed us to obtain a partial DNA sequence of cytochrome b. We subsequently retrieved the nucleotide sequences of cytochrome b from the same taxonomy from the GenBank database and processed all the sequences by the MEGA software, after alignment by the ClustalW method. The aim of this study was the morphometric characterization of 8 bean accessions (vicia faba L) in different localities in the wilaya of Tlemcen, we studied 8 agromorphological characters, were the objects of a statistical study by the software R. Phenotypic diversity was determined by the Shannon-Weaver diversity index (H ') at different levels. The estimated H showed high phenotypic variability for different traits with an average H of 0.63. The results of the Multiple Correspondence Analysis (PCA) and the Hierarchical Classification (CAH) showed a clear distinction between the accessions.

The seafood products are part of the animal protein resources and a wide variety of mineral salts, among which is produced sardine (Sardina pilchardus) which has a very important commercial and economic interest in the world. In Algeria, although its coastline covers a large area, it has generally apear a decrease in the amount of sardine landed in recent years especially in the west coast. The sardine does not have the same economic value, according to its origin, this species can have prices and or a frequency of sale different, it is the case of our two studied population or the sardine of the Béni-Saf bay is appreciate more than of the region of Ghazaouet. Indeed, we made morphometric measurements of five parameters (weight (W), total languor (LT), length of muzzle to fork (LM), length between anal fin and muzzle ( LA), the length between the anal fin and the pelvic fin (LP)) after two samplings at the edge of a sardine boat at two stations, one located at Ghazaouet and the other at the level of Béni-saf with a total number of samples equal to 199 individuals. It appears from the analysis of the results that the weight has a highly significant correlation with the total length at the level of the Béni-saf. The same observation was made in Ghazaouet but with less intensity. The parameter (weight) analyzed showed a clear superiority of the Béni-Saf population to that of the population of Ghazaouet. This work also proved to us that the population of Béni-saf and Ghazaouet are well individualized and therefore justifies their own identity on the market. For more scientific precision blood sampling (50 samples for each population) was carried out for subsequent molecular characterization studies.
