The rice - maize cropping system is one of the predominant cropping systems in Telangana state, which also produces large quantities of residues, whose disposal is a major problem. A large quantity of paddy straw is burnt on the farm to clear the field for succeeding crop. On the farm, a significant amount of paddy straw is burned to prepare the land for a subsequent crop. Burning crop residue damages the air and results in the loss of a significant amount of biomass plant nutrients and the entire amount of carbon. The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of paddy straw burning on soil biological properties (enzyme activities, microbial population) and to know the amount of green house gas (GHG) emissions released due to burning of residue, under two tillage systems viz., no tillage and conventional tillage. Results indicated that there was a significant decrease in soil microbial population, dehydrogenase activity (41.52% in NT and 40.07% in CT), acid and alkaline phosphatase activity and urease activity in soil due to residue burning. It also indicated that there was a rise in CO2, CH4 and N2O emissions 48 hours after residue burning. It can be concluded that crop residue burning leads to decrease in the enzyme activities and soil microbial population. It also leads to rise in green house gas emissions. The impact of rice straw burning on different microbial genera has to be further studied by researchers.

A study was conducted to identify suitable spectral bands related to soil properties of major soils of Telangana using hyperspectral data. A total of 200 surface soil samples were collected from district of Sangareddy (20 soil samples), Yadadri Bhuvangiri (20 soil samples), Nizamabad (20 soil samples), Adilabad (20 soil samples), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (60 soil samples), Nagar Kurnool (20 soil samples) and Nalgonda (40 soil samples) analyzed for soil properties viz., pH, electric conductivity (EC), organic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, soil texture (percent clay). Soil spectral data (350-2500 nm) was measured using ASD spectroradiometer and correlated with soil properties using Pearson correlation test. Result shows that the soil properties like pH, OC, total N, total K , total Mn, % Clay showed significant negative correlation at 1210-1280 nm (r= -0.345**) for Ph, 610-630 nm (r= -0.415**) for OC, 390-410 nm (r= -0.180*, 0.183*, 0.175*, 0.170*) for total N, 360-390 nm (r= -0.174**,-0.158**,-0.163**,0.160**) for total K , 590-610 nm (r= -0.527** and -0.526**) for clay %.However significant positive correlation was observed with ECand 1110-1130 nm (r= 0.150* and 0.149*). These sensitive bands for soil parameters can be further used for prediction of soil properties.

A Greenhouse experiment was conducted on loamy sand soils of Agricultural College, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during rabi 2021-2022 to find out the influence of crop residues in addition to decomposition enhancers on soil nitrogen transformation and available macronutrients status during growth of maize. The crop residues were incorporated in soil during sowing of maize either alone or in combination with decomposition enhanceres (microbial consortia and single super phosphate). The nitrogen transformation and macronutrients assayed at different intervals of maize were significantly increased by the application of crop residue along with microbial consortia. At 30 DAI, 60 DAI and 90 DAI among the treatments, the highest ammonical and nitrate nitrogen and macronutrient status of were recorded with T9 (T5 + as Microbial consortium @ 1.5%) and it was on par with the treatment T13 (T5 + as Single Super Phosphate @5%). At 120 DAI among the treatments highest ammonical and nitrate nitrogen and macronutrient status of were recorded with T8 (T4+ as Microbial consortium @ 1.5%,) and it was on par with the T6 (T2+ as Microbial consortium @ 1.5 %). At all intervals the lowest ammonical and nitrate nitrogen and macronutrient status were recorded in control (T1). Incorporation of crop residues along with microbial consortium before sowing has significant effect on growth and yield of maize when compared to residue alone.

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of different soil amendments on plant growth parameters and economics in maize (Zea mays L). Place and Duration of Study: Maize variety 900-M-GOLD was cultivated during rabi 2014-15 at College Farm, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU, Hyderabad, Telangana state, India. Methodology: The Experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 6 treatments replicated four times. Treatments consist of T1- vermicompost @ 5 t ha-1 ,T2-FYM @ 10 t ha-1 , T3-tanksilt @ 50 t ha-1 , T4- biochar @10 t ha-1 ,T5- control (without any fertilizer),T6- RDF (NPK-200, 60, 50 kg ha-1). Recommended Dose of Fertilizers was commonly applied from treatment T1 to T4. Results: There were no significant difference in plant population with the application of all the treatments. At harvest, significantly higher leaf area index recorded with application of tanksilt (1.67) which was on par with vermicompost (1.66), biochar (1.65), FYM (1.65), RDF (1.51) and significantly higher than control (0.80). Maximum gross returns (INR 1,31,283 ha–1), net returns (INR 85,533 ha–1) and BC ratio (2.87) were recorded with the application of tanksilt and minimum gross returns (INR 51,431 ha–1), net returns (INR 24,781 ha–1) and BC ratio (1.93) were recorded in the control. Conclusion: It was determined that growth parameter viz., leaf area, leaf area index recorded significantly higher with tanksilt application which is on par with the application of vermicompost, biochar, FYM. Maximum gross returns (INR 131283 ha–1), net returns (INR 85533 ha–1) and BC ratio (2.87) were recorded with the application of tanksilt.

Second order Rotatable designs have good significance in response surface methodology. In this paper, two new seriesfor the construction the same using Binary Ternary Designs were presented with illustrated examples.

A field study was conducted on clay loam soil at college farm, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India During Rabi 2015-16 and Rabi 2016-17, to investigate the effect of water management strategies and nitrogen sources on rice N-mineralization patterns. The experiment was laid out in a split plot design under two types of water management practices i.e., Continuous flooding (CF) and alternate wetting and drying (AWD) as main treatments with five treatments viz., T1- N0:P2O5 @ 60 kg ha-1: K2O @ 60 kg ha-1 (Control); T2- Nitrogen @ 120 kg ha-1 (Prilled Urea): P2O5 @ 60 kg ha-1: K2O @ 60 kg ha-1 T3- Soil test based Nitrogen fertiliser application (STCR); T4- Nitrogen @ 60 kg ha-1 + 60 kg ha-1 through green manure and T5- Nitrification inhibitor Coated Urea as sub plot treatments. The MTU-1010 variety was grown with the recommended management practices. Continuous flooding plots were kept at a 5cm water level at all times, while alternate wetting and drying plots were irrigated when a hairline fissure emerged on the soil surface. Significantly NH4+-N content increases with time and peaked at 15 DAT under continuous flooding as well as alternate wetting and drying (27.12 mg kg-1 and 28.28 mg kg-1). Green manure treatment resulted in faster NH4+ -N release and accumulation, in the order of Green manure > PU > STCR > coated urea > control treatments. In comparison to STCR and green manure, NO3--N release was low in coated urea, followed by prilled urea. Alternate wetting and drying resulted in 29 per cent greater AE than continuously flooded rice. The treatment which receives nitrogen through STCR (21.30 kg grain yield per kg N applied and 23.94 kg grain yield per kg N applied) followed by nitrification inhibitor coated urea treatment had the highest AE.

Aim: Study was conducted to compare and to identify the best combination of rice crop establishment method and nutrient management in terms of crop growth, development and yield. Study Design: Experiment was laid out in splitplot design. Place and Duration of Study: The field experiments were conducted at the research farm of Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad, Telangana State, India during the kharifand rabiseasons of 2011-12 and 2012-13. Methodology: The treatments consisted of four establishment methods (System of rice intensification (SRI), modified drum seeder, normal drum seeder and normal transplanting) as main plot treatments and four nutrient management practices (100% recommended dosage of nitrogen (RDN) through inorganic, 75% RDN through inorganic+ 25% RDN through organic, 50% RDN through inorganic+50% RDN through organic and 100% RDN through organic) as sub plot treatments with 16 treatment combinations and three replications. The semi dwarf, high yielding Sampada variety was raised during the study period. Results: Growth parameters like plant height, leaf area index (LAI), dry matter accumulation, number of tillers per square meter were observed at 45,75,105 days after transplanting and at harvest stages. The two years experimental results and the pooled mean data revealed that SRI recorded significantly superior growth parameters at all the crop growth stages followed by modified drum seeder. In respect of subplots 50% RDN through inorganic+50% RDN through organic resulted in superior growth parameters and yield. Conclusions:The combination of SRI with nutrient management practice 50% nitrogen through urea and 50% nitrogen through vermiconpost resulted in greater growth parameters and grain yield.

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different drip irrigation and fertigation levels on yield and economics of high-density cotton at College of Agriculture, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad, during kharif 2019 and 2020. The experiment consisted of twelve treatments laid out in Factorial randomised block design (FRBD) replicated thrice. Three irrigation levels (irrigation scheduled at 0.6 [I1], 0.8 [I2] and 1.0 [I3] Epan throughout the crop growth period) and four fertigation levels (application of 100% RDNK in differential dosage as per recommendation [F1], application of 100% RDNK in differential dosage as per crop coefficient curve [F2], application of 125% RDNK in differential dosage as per recommendation [F3], and application of 125% RDNK in differential dosage as per crop coefficient curve [F4],) were included as treatments in this study. Irrigation levels did not show any significant influence on yield and economics during 2020 and 2021. While among the four fertigation levels, application of 125% RDNK in differential dosage as per crop coefficient curve (F4) recorded significantly higher gross returns, net returns and B:C ratio which were on par with application of 125% RDNK in differential dosage as per recommendation (F3). Lower gross returns, net returns and B:C ratio were obtained with the application of 100% RDNK in differential dosage as per recommendation (F1) which were on par with application of 100% RDNK in differential dosage as per crop coefficient curve during both the seasons (F2). Further the gross returns and net returns produced under F3 was also on par with F2.

Reducing properties are investigated for the minimum energy conformers of selected thiacrown systems with redox-responsive disulfide linkage. The adiabatic electron affinity values of the investigated host systems in the gas phase lie in a range that makes them capable to undergo reversible redox reactions. In water, these show a high propensity to get reduced. Their binding energy with different alkali metal ions (Li+, Na+, and K+) is also determined under gas and aqueous phase conditions. The computational analysis reveals the weak metal binding interactions of disulfide systems than the parent thiacrown ethers. Such weak interaction energies in host-guest complexes indicate the possibility of reversible complexation-decomplexation. This assumably assists the fast release of guest molecules from the disulfide systems in response to the redox stimuli. Possibilities of incorporating such disulfide incorporated moieties in thiacalixarenes are also discussed. The results discussed in the present work are valuable for further development in the practical applications of crown ether–based host materials.

The current study primarily involves the investigation of reducing properties of dithia-substituted bicyclic hydrocarbons. Adiabatic electron affinities (AEA) of the selected dithiabicyclic systems were investigated under gas and aqueous phase conditions. Calculated AEA values suggest the neutral-anion radical of the systems to be a perfect redox couple similar to cystines. Higher affinity to capture an electron is obtained in the aqueous environment. Natural bond orbital and atoms in molecule analyses were performed to obtain insight into the S–S bonding properties. One electron added radicals with elongated disulfide linkage indicates the viability of the systems towards rupturing upon reduction making it more suitable in drug carrier designing. The current investigation is also extended to biologically important dithiolopyrrolone (DTP) class of compounds and compared with dithiabicyclic hydrocarbons. The AEA range for neutral DTPs is found to be higher indicating more tendency of these systems to get reduced.

Continuous use of fertilizers decreasing the biological activity of the soil. Fertile soils teem with microorganisms, which directly contribute to the biological fertility of the soil. Microorganisms are responsible for the availability of nutrients to the plants which are already exist in the soil. Hence, the present study focused on to investigate the effect of natural farming on soil microorganisms and enzymes activity of maize rhizospherein comparison with inorganic and organic farming during the autumn season of 2016-17 at Agricultural College, Jagtial. The results of the investigation revealed that the population of microbes (bacteria and fungi) at 30, 60 Days After Sowing (DAS) and harvest was unaffected by variety (Aswini) or hybrid (DHM 117). But, among the different farming methods, organic farming recorded higher bacterial (19, 29 and 22.5 x 10-7 CFU{Colony Forming Unit} g-1 dry soil) and fungi (8.25, 14.67 and 10.25 x 10-5 CFU g-1 dry soil) population at 30, 60 DAS and harvest stage respectively and significantly superior to inorganic and natural methods. The microbial population in inorganic method was inferior to that in absolute control similar to microbial population, highest urease activity was recorded in organic method at 30, 60 DAS and harvest (52.92, 68.33 and 33.25 µg NH4+ g-1 2 h-1, respectively) and it was superior to inorganic and natural farming which were at a par with each other. Significantly higher activity of dehydrogenase was observed with organic farming at 30, 60 DAS and harvest (1.65, 2.29 and 1.72 µg TPF g-1 day-1) compared to natural farming and inorganic farming. The activity of urease and dehydrogenase remained similar with DHM 117 or Aswini.

Pyrazolone derivatives play a significant role in the treatment of cancer. The synergic effect which emerges from the combination of pyrazolone moiety with hydrazone functionality was investigated. The objective of this study was to explore the antiproliferative potential of copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) metal chelates synthesized from pyrazolone based hydrazone derivative. The ligand and the metal chelates were characterized by various spectroscopic and analytical studies. The ligand was characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.The results were in line with the spectroscopic methods. The geometry optimization of ligand and metal chelates were performed using density functional theory (DFT). The invitro cytotoxicity of ligand and metal chelates against different cancer cell lines was investigated by MTT assay. The cell-viability experiments showed that copper(II) complex is an efficient cytotoxic agent against HeLa cell line. Moreover, possible inhibition mechanism of synthesized compounds was evaluated in silico against HPV16-E6 receptor. Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma

A triazene derivative and its transition metal complexes were prepared and characterized using molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, UV–visible, NMR spectral studies wherever possible and applicable. The structure of the ligand and metal complexes was further confirmed using DFT calculations with the help of B97d method with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The antidiabetic and antioxidant activities of the ligand and the metal complexes were studied. The ligand showed potential biological activities which increased on chelation with metal ion. Apart from this, the molecular docking studies were carried out in order to understand the binding interaction of the ligand and its metal complexes with active sites of the target proteins.

The Excited State Intramolecular Proton Transfer (ESIPT) phenomenon involving photo-induced keto-enol tautomerization is known to cause significant variations in the excited state structures and photophysical properties of certain molecules. Here, the dual emission exhibited by 3,6-dihydroxybenzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid tetraethyl ester has been studied both experimentally and theoretically and it is concluded that the second emission is due to ESIPT in polar protic solvents, while it is due to dianion formation in solvents like DMSO and DMF.

Geometry and energy calibration studies are done for arriving at a proper ECP for tellurium containing compounds. Among the various d-function included ECPs cc-pwCVTZ-PP and def2-TZVP give more reliable results. Non-catalytic and base/radical initiated hydrotelluration reactions are computationally studied using the calibrated def2-TZVP, with a special focus on the regio-and stereoselective formation of vinyl tellurides. The explored gas phase reaction mechanism indicates the addition of tellurol to unsaturated carbon-carbon triple bond via a concerted transition structure. Regioselectivity has been noticeably realized in presence of both base and radical mediated hydrotelluration leading to Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov product respectively.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are generally set out in a remote workplace, since the sensor nodes are tiny in size, cost-proficient, low-power gadgets, and have restricted battery supply. Due to the constrained availability of power sources, energy utilization has been considered as the most crucial factor for proposing network routing protocols. The fundamental concern is to improve the lifetime of the network based on the energy constraints. Several homogenous cluster-based routing protocols have been proposed in literature for lifetime improvement of the sensor network but many of them fail to function effectively in heterogeneous environment and moreover, these protocols have not considered any other awareness parameters than lifetime and energy consumption. In this work, a Multi Aware Multi-Levels Heterogeneous Routing (MAMHR) protocol, focusing on the principle of multi-level heterogeneity by considering multiple awareness parameters of the network such as Quality of Service (QoS), shortest path estimation and suitable localization technique, is proposed. Scoped Bellman Ford Routing (SBFR) algorithm is used for shortest path estimation, Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) factors are considered for QoS awareness and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technique is used for location estimation. Lifetime awareness parameters of the proposed scheme were compared with already existing prominent protocols LEACH, SEP and ZSEP and a significant improvement in lifetime of entire network was obtained. Simulation results corresponding to the respective multiple awareness parameters also shows that these parameters can be incorporated into the selected heterogeneous environment without affecting the energy consumption constraints of the proposed scheme.

Field experiment was conducted on aerobic rice at Agricultural Research institute Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, during 2012 kharif to evaluate the effect of different nitrogen levels and times of application growth parameters of aerobic rice. The results revealed that application of nitrogen 180 kg ha-1 with 4 splits given the better plant height, tiller number m-2; dry matter production, root volume and root dry weight that contributed for higher grain yield.

The uncatalyzed gas phase study of the addition reaction between selenol and alkyne confirms a concerted pathway for the reaction. Reduced natural charge study substantiates that substituents on reactants that stabilize the charges computed on the transition structure facilitate the reaction. Regio- and stereoselectivity in the hydroselenation reactions under radical and base conditions are also investigated in detail and the results are compared with the experimental and the computed uncatalyzed gas phase reactions. While the radical and base catalyzed pathways are pronounced for its high degree of regio- and stereoselectivity leading to E- anti -Markovnikov product, the uncatalyzed reaction prefers Markovnikov product.

Influence of different phosphorus concentrations was studied in four rice varieties (Akhanphou, MTU1010, RP BIO 226, and Swarna) differing in their tolerance to low phosphorus. There was an increase in shoot and root dry mass with the increase in phosphorus concentration. At the low phosphorus concentration at both tillering and reproductive stages, Swarna, followed by Akhanphou, recorded maximum biomass for both roots and shoots, while the minimum was observed in RP BIO 226. Reduction in photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, and internal CO2 concentration at low phosphorus concentrations were observed at both tillering and reproductive stages in all the genotypes. In low phosphorus, maximum photosynthetic rate was found in Swarna followed by Akhanphou. Phosphorus deficiency did not alter the maximum efficiency of PSII photochemistry, however, there was a reduction in effective PSII quantum yield, electron transport rate, and coefficient of photochemical quenching, while the coefficient of nonphotochemical quenching was higher in the low phosphorus-treated plants. Prolonged exposure to excessive energy and failure to utilize the energy in carbon-reduction cycle induced the generation of reactive oxygen species, which affected PSII as indicated by the fluorescence traits. The reduction was less severe in case of Swarna and Akhanphou. The activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and catalase increased in roots under low phosphorus concentration indicating that photoprotective mechanisms have been initiated in rice plants in response to phosphorus deficiency. Comparatively, Swarna and Akhanphou exhibited a higher biomass, higher photosynthetic rate, and better reactive oxygen species-scavenging ability which conferred tolerance under low phosphorus conditions.

The present work provides a deep insight into the mechanistic and energetic aspects of alkyne hydrothiolation reaction. This work can be regarded as the first ever computational attempt to unravel the reaction pathway under transition metal free conditions. The results confirmed a concerted pathway for uncatalyzed gas phase reactions. Reduced natural charge analysis pointed out that the characterized transition structures could be envisaged as a hypothetical ion pair, the stabilization of which led to reduced energy barriers. Hydroxyl radical catalyzed pathway was unraveled for the reaction which was then compared with the uncatalyzed reactions in terms of energy barrier and the feasibility of the mode of addition. The catalyzed reaction was also marked for its high degree of regioselectivity, leading to an unselective mixture of (E/Z) anti-Markovnikov products.

Density functional theory calculations were employed to quantify the effect of hydrogen bonding interactions in the reactions involving cleavage of dichalcogenides in cystines and selenocystines. The computed gas phase reaction has a multistep mechanism involving hydrogen bond transfers from one heteroatom to another across the reaction coordinate along with the anionic charge transfer from the nucleophile to the product. The solution phase mechanism, however, is simple SN2 irrespective of the nature of the reaction centre or hydrogen bonding interaction at the reaction site, or the nucleophile. When compared to similar reactions without any hydrogen bonding interactions at the reaction centre, these were found to be very facile both in gas phase as well as in aqueous solution.

The base-catalyzed reaction of 1,5-diphenyl-pentane-1,3,5-trione with aromatic/heteroaromatic 1,2-diones leading to the synthesis of 2,5-diaroyl-4-hydroxycyclopent-2-enones and its conversion to 2,5-diaroylcyclopentadienones is reported here. 2,5-Dibenzoyl-4-hydroxycyclopent-2-enone and 2,5-dithenoyl-4-hydroxycyclopent-2-enone are valuable compounds which act as chemosensors for selective detection of Fe3+ and Cu2+, respectively.

Thione-thiol tautomerization is biologically and synthetically significant proton transfer reaction. Current study analyses the effect of protic solvents on this reaction involving heterocyclic thiocarbonyl compounds having potent bioactivities such as 1,3-dihydroimidazole-2-thione, 2-thiohydantoin and 2-thiouracil. The computed catalytic effect of polar protic solvents water and methanol is explained by the favorable lone pair – antibonding orbital interactions which facilitates the required proton transfer. Microhydration study up to six water molecules has been carried out to get more insight into the explicit water-solute interaction. It has been concluded that four water molecules are enough to model explicit water-solute interaction that favorably affects the tautomerism of heterocyclic thiocarbonyl compounds. Moreover, the thione formation step of the equilibrium gets relatively more facilitated by the polar protic solvents. The results are further validated by considering a reported thiol-thione conversion in enzymatic decarboxylation reaction of 4′-phosphopantothenoylcysteine.

MANETs are infrastructure less networks consisting of mobile nodes which are self-configuring and self-organizing. However, they are subjected to various constraints like unreliability, limited resources, latency, etc. Henceforth, location aided routing protocols have emerged as a potential solution for routing in ad hoc networks. The major advantage of these routing protocols is that they perform route discovery in a small restricted region named as request zone. Thus it is evident that the shape and size of the request zone play a major role in enhancing the protocol’s performance. This paper focuses on obtaining optimal shape for request zone by varying node density. Comparison of different shapes of request zones in term of routing overhead, the end to end delay is made. Further, our simulation results show that directional antennas outperform Omni-directional antennas in reducing the interference, redundant packet collisions, etc.

Ionic and ion pair methylation of enethiolate anion and dienedithiolate dianion of 2,4-pentanedithione are investigated for the feasibility of C–C and C–S bond formation. Among the possible nucleophilic carbon atoms, the terminal carbon is found to be more favorable for methylation reaction in both mono and dianions. Further methylation of methylated dienedithiolate anion is comparable with that of monoenethiolate anion in energetics, whereas it is less facile as compared to first methylation of dienedithiolate dianion. Ion pair C- and S-methylation via cyclic transition structure have high-energy barriers in comparison with ionic methylation. Gas phase and solvent phase (THF and water) studies reveal that C–S bond formation by S-methylation is more feasible than C–C bond formation by C-methylation. To validate these results, energetics of biologically significant methylation of dihydroholomycin is analyzed and compared with the experimental reports.

The fundamental concern is to improve the lifetime of the network based on the energy constraints. But, in areas like geophysical and environmental monitoring, localization of nodes is also critical for proper data processing. Several homogenous cluster based routing protocols have been proposed in literature for lifetime improvement of the sensor network but many of them fail to function effectively in heterogeneous environment and moreover, these protocols have not considered a proper localization technique for evaluating the location estimates of nodes in the network. In this paper, a Horizontal Multi-Level Heterogeneous Routing (HMHR) protocol that mainly focuses on lifetime improvement of nodes, and also incorporates a TDOA localization technique, for accurate estimation of node locations, is proposed. Performance parameters of the proposed scheme are compared with other three already existing prominent protocols named LEACH, SEP and Z-SEP and a significant improvement in lifetime of the network is obtained. The accuracy of the localization technique used is evaluated by plotting the corresponding Mean Square Error (MSE) curve.

An experiment was conducted for two consecutive years at College Farm, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during kharif 2009 and 2010 to study the response of hybrid rice to organic sources and fertilizer levels. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with three replications. The treatments included organic sources (No organic manuring control, subabul incorporation @ 5 t ha-1, rice straw incorporation @ 2.5 t ha-1) as main plot treatments and fertilizer levels comprising of N:K2O kg ha -1 (150:75, 175:50, 175:25, 200:50, 200:25, 225:0) as sub plot treatments. Among the organic sources, incorporation of subabul @ 5 t ha-1 recorded the highest dry matter production, grain yield and phosphorus uptake. Among the fertilizer levels tested, 200:50 N:K2O kg ha -1 was found the best fertilizer level in recording the highest dry matter production, grain yield and phosphorus uptake and was found significantly superior to remaining fertilizer levels. Interaction effect between organic sources and fertilizer levels was found significant on dry matter production, grain yield, phosphorus uptake at tillering, 50% flowering, panicle initiation stage and phosphorus uptake by grain. Subabul incorporation @ 5 t ha-1 + 200:50 N:K2O kg ha -1 recorded the highest dry matter production, grain yield, phosphorus uptake at tillering, 50% flowering, panicle initiation stage and phosphorus uptake by grain and remained on par with subabul incorporation @ 5 t ha-1 + 200:25 N:K2O kg ha
