In this study, it was aimed to develop a measurement tool that can measure the earthquake fear levels of middle and high school adolescents who experienced an earthquake. The study conducted with the descriptive survey model. The sample consisted of adolescents studying in middle and high schools. Factor analyses were applied to test the construct validity of the scale. First, exploratory factor analysis was conducted. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that the scale consisted of two factors (worry and physical symptoms), and explained 65.52% of the total variance. First and second level confirmatory factor analysis were applied to confirm the structure obtained as a result of exploratory factor analyses. Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the model structure of the scale. For the reliability research, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was calculated, the lowest 27% group was compared with the highest 27% group, and the correlation between the two measurements was examined by applying the test-retest procedure. At the end of the study it was determined that the scale was reliable based on the values obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to develop a valid, reliable, and convenient data collection tool to measure the level of faculty members’ adoption of the holacracy model in university administration. The data of this study were obtained from faculty members working in the faculties of education of state universities in Türkiye in the 2020-2021 academic year. Participation in the study was completely voluntary. The data were collected from a sample of 268 people. Within the scope of the research, the Higher Education Holacracy Scale (HEHS) was used as a data collection tool. The researcher developed the draft form of the HEHS in line with the literature on holacracy. The draft form was presented to 14 experts, one of whom was an expert in measurement and evaluation. Thus, the content validity of the research was ensured. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the variance explained was 63.228%, the structure consisted of three components, and the fit index values were at a good level. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were conducted for the validity of the scale, and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was calculated for reliability. Item-total correlations examined the discrimination of the scale items. After the analyses, it was determined that this 25-item scale, which is in harmony with its theoretical foundations, is a valid and reliable scale suitable for measuring faculty members’ opinions.

EXPLORATORY factor analysis , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *CRONBACH'S alpha , *PEOPLE with disabilities , *SOCIAL integration - Abstract
The aim of this study is the adaptation of the "Attitudes and Perspectives Toward Persons with Disabilities" scale, developed in the study titled "To Develop and Validate a Scale to Assess People’s Attitudes and Perspectives Toward Persons with Disabilities" by Myong et al. (2021), into Turkish. The sample of the research consists of a total of 387 individuals, including faculty members working and students studying at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa (IUC) during the 2023- 2024 academic year. The scale, which consists of 14 items and four sub-dimensions—Social Inclusion, Discomfort with Persons with Disabilities, Helpfulness, and Viewing Persons with Disabilities as a Burden—is evaluated using a 5-point Likert-type scale. The preliminary test analysis showed a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.74 and a validity level with a KMO value of 0.69. The scale, considered to have reached its final form by following the scientific steps mentioned in the literature, explains 60.61% of the total variance according to the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The correlation analysis between the original English version and the Turkish version of the scale indicated a high level of positive and significant relationship (ranging from r=0.86 to 0.60, p<0.01). The Turkish scale's Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.79, and the KMO value as 0.79. According to the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) results, the indices were calculated as CFI=0.93, GFI=0.94, TLI=0.90, IFI=0.93, NFI=0.88, RFI=0.85, RMSEA=0.06, and SRMR=0.04. The goodness-of-fit indices from the CFA were consistent with the model. Convergent and discriminant validities of the scale were assessed through the Average Variance Extracted (AVE), Maximum Shared Squared Variance (MSV), Average Shared Squared Variance (ASV), and Composite Reliability (CR) values. According to the CFA results, the factor loadings of the items belonging to the sub-dimensions of the scale ranged as follows: Social Inclusion 0.71-0.80, Discomfort with Persons with Disabilities 0.60-0.71, Helpfulness 0.73-0.81, and Viewing Persons with Disabilities as a Burden 0.79-0.86, indicating good fit indices. The MSV, ASV, and AVE values support the scale’s convergent and discriminant validity, and the CR coefficient supports its reliability. In conclusion, the Turkish adaptation of the Attitudes and Perspectives Toward Persons with Disabilities Scale can be used as a current, valid, and reliable measurement tool to assess attitudes and perspectives toward persons with disabilities. RELIGIOUS psychology , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *RELIGIOUS education , *NUCLEAR families , *CRONBACH'S alpha , *KINSHIP - Abstract
This article presents the findings of the reliability and validity analysis of the "Kinship, Comradeship and Friendship Ties (KFF) Scale". The scale was developed to determine whether a person has social ties and, if so, the strength of these ties through people's perceptions of these ties. It is known that a person's social relationships with his/her close and distant environment, starting with his/her family, interact with his/her psychological state. On the other hand, Islam requires social duties such as maintaining kinship ties, responding to friends' invitations, helping them in times of need, not sulking with them, and getting along well with neighbors as religious duties. It is believed that the ADAB scale will make a valuable contribution to the scale literature by having items that cover the social environment that is likely to affect the person psycho-socially outside the nuclear family. It is foreseen that the scale will be used in sub-fields of Psychology, particularly Social and Clinical Psychology in the social sciences, Sociology and Sociology of Religion and Religious Education, which are religious sciences under the umbrella of theology, as well as The Psychology of Religion, which is also a sub-branch of Psychology. The scale was developed as a result of two consecutive field studies conducted in December 2023. As a result of the statistical analyses performed on the data obtained from the first sample of 632 people over 18 years of age, a scale structure of 30 items and 8 factors was obtained. In the second study carried out on a sample of 341 participants for confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the scale had good compatibility values (CMIN/DF= 1.923; RMSEA = .053; RMR= .048; CFI= .914; GFI= .92; AGFI= .89; IFI= 92; TLI= .90). In the analysis of the reliability of the scale, the Cronbach's Alpha value was determined as .90. In addition, each of the 8 factors had good or acceptable reliability coefficients. Although each of the sub-dimensions has reliability and validity coefficients that can measure its own subject, it is recommended that the scale be used as a whole in studies. In future studies, the ADADS scale can be safely used in studies to be conducted with samples from all socio-economic segments of the society, from all educational levels, regardless of gender, provided that they are over 18 years of age. EXPLORATORY factor analysis , *FACTOR structure , *MIDDLE school students , *CRONBACH'S alpha , *FACTOR analysis - Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine the motivation of middle school students towards grammar. The study group consists of a total of 500 7th-grade students, including 264 girls and 236 boys, studying in various middle schools in the city center of Kars. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was initially conducted on the data collected to determine the factorial structure and validity study of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis, it was observed that the scale has a twofactor structure. Therefore, the scale data were limited to two factors and analyzed using the principal components method. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) statistic value of the scale was found to be 0.919, and the Bartlett's Test of Sphericity statistic value was χ2=6310.22; df=1081, p=0.000, indicating that it was significant and suitable for factor analysis. Item-total test correlations were calculated as evidence of item validity. It was determined that the item-test correlations ranged from 0.308 to 0.710. The Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient calculated to determine the reliability of the scale was found to be 0.948 for the total scale. The internal consistency coefficient of the high motivation factor of the scale was found to be 0.946, and the internal consistency coefficient of the low motivation factor was found to be 0.874, indicating high internal consistency. In light of these findings, it was concluded that the grammar motivation scale is valid and reliable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT:The topic of developing measuring instruments by using scientific methods is becoming increasingly important in the field of social science because accurate information can only be obtained by using valid, reliable, and useable measurement and assessment techniques developed by using scientific methods. The way to obtain accurate information in scale development research and field application studies that aim to acquire detailed information using advanced scales is to gather data that is error-free or with a margin of error that has been reduced as much as possible. Scale development is the process of developing items by revealing the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors that are intended to be measured. Several fundamental stages need to be considered to develop a robust scale, adapt it, and make it work, particularly when the topic is social science. With this important point in mind, this study aims to reveal in detail the stages of developing valid, reliable, and useable measuring instrument. The study will discuss the stages that need to be considered when developing a scale, how sampling and implementation are conducted, and how the validity and reliability process works when developing a scale. It is thought that the study will help increase studies on the development of qualified and unique scales and constitute a competent guide for researchers who are going to make such studies and provide a methodological roadmap by providing information about the stages that need to be considered when developing scale.

ABSTRACT:This study aims to adapt a scale that evaluates the causes of violence in dating relationships with the couple's self-report. In this context, the psychometric properties of the Reasons for Intimate Partner Violence Scale were examined. A total of 289 university students, 157 female and 132 male, with an average age of 22.34 (SD = 1.80) participated in the study. The scale's factor structure was examined by exploratory factor analysis, and the two-factor structure (internalized and externalized reasons) was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. Acceptance of Couples Violence Scale was used for criterion-related validity. The scale's Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficients were calculated to determine internal consistency. The results showed that the validity and reliability of the scale were sufficient. However, it was found that men and women show violence for different reasons in the study The relationships between causes of violence, acceptance of violence, and dating violence are also examined. As the rate of reasons for violence shown in close relationships increases, acceptance of violence and exposure to dating violence also increases. Also, it was found that internalized causes of violence, externalized causes of violence, acceptance of violence, and some dating violence sub-dimensions differ by gender. It is thought that the study's results will contribute to understanding the reasons for violence reported by an intimate partner and for valuable areas of intervention aimed at preventing dating violence.

- Abstract
Objective: Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is defined in the DSM-5 as "consuming more food than most people can eat in a given period of time with an accompanying feeling of loss of control". Although BED has only recently been defined as a distinct diagnostic category, studies show that it is the most common eating disorder in adults. Therefore, the measurement tools that can be used in the assessment of BED gain importance at this point. The aim of this study was to determine the psychometric properties of the Binge Eating Scale, which was developed by Gormally et al.(44) and used in the assessment of BED, by adapting it into Turkish. Method: The study was conducted on two separate samples of individuals between the ages of 18-65/68. The second sample was used only for confirmatory factor analysis. The Eating Attitudes Test, Brief Symptom Inventory and Brief Self-Control Scale were used as criterion-related validity criteria. Results: As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, it was seen that the scale had a single-factor structure. This single-factor structure explained 32.69% of the variance. The goodness of fit values obtained from confirmatory factor analysis were also found to be excellent and acceptable (e.g., 2/sd= 2.93). The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be .85, and the Spearman Brown two-half reliability coefficient was found to be .76 (p<.001). Discussion: The results of the statistical analysis show that the Turkish adaptation of the scale is valid and reliable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study is to adapt the workplace cyber incivility scale, which consists of 14 statements and 2 dimensions developed by Lim and Teo (2009), to both today and Turkish, and to study its validity and reliability. In the scale adaptation study, data were obtained from 2 separate samples. The first of these groups consists of academics (n=183), and the second consists of people working in three different sectors (n=202). For the validity of the scale, construct validity, convergent and divergent validities were performed. As a result of the validity analysis, 1 statement from the 14-statement scale was removed from the scale as a result of exploratory factor analysis. For criterion-related validity, the relationship between the total and dimensions of the scale and life satisfaction was examined and all relationships were found to be negative. For reliability analysis, the Cronbach Alpha (CA) coefficient of the first group and the Cronbach Alpha and Combined Reliability (CR) coefficients of the second group were examined. As a result of the reliability analysis of the scale, it was determined that it was a reliable scale in both groups. As a result of the study, it was determined that the cyber incivility scale at work is a scale compatible with the Turkish business world, consisting of 13 items and 2 dimensions. - Abstract
The purpose of this study is to adapt and examine the psychometric properties of Turkish form of Extended Self Scale. The original scale was developed in the contex of "mountain biking". This adaptation study set the contex of extended self as "aoutomobile owning"; in order to lead to other Turkish studies on self and consumption relations that might study extended self with other consumption materials. The study was conducted on 311 automobile owners over 18 years old. Scale was studied in general survey method and translation method used was translationback translation method. The psychometric properties of the scale were examined by internal consistency, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and item analysis methods with SPSS and AMOS programmes. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis determined the scale structure with 3 factors. The model's and CFA's compatibility was examined through index values; and index values of the scale were determined as "acceptable" and "excellent". The Chi- Square per Degrees of Freedom Ratio was found to be 2.758, the Comparative Fit Index (CFI) was 0.93, and the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) was 0.075. The reliability of the Extended Self Scale was assessed using the internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) method, and the internal consistency coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.928. As the analysis of the research regarded; on self and consumption based field studies; Extended Self Scale can be defined as a scale which can be used in determining the self extension tendency. - Abstract
Masculine Gender Role Stress refers to men's stress felt in individual, social, and societal situations where they think they transgress the norms of idealized masculinity. The majority of research conducted to examine men's stress rooted in masculinity norms has been using the 40-item and five-factor Male Gender Role Stress (MGRS) Scale of Eisler and Skidmore (1987). However, there are very few research focusing on the adaptation of MGRS scale in different cultures. Thus, this study aimed to adapt the MGRS scale into Turkish and present its validity and reliability. 395 men participated in this study by convenience sampling method. Participants filled out the MGRS scale together with anxiety, anger, gender attitudes, life satisfaction and psychological well-being scales. After the Exploratory Factor Analysis, the scale showed a 28-item three-factor structure in the Turkish sample: Performance inadequacy, subordination, and confrontation with emotional situations. In addition, Confirmatory Factor Analysis revealed that this threefactor structure fits the data better than the one-factor model. MGRS was positively correlated with anxiety, anger, and gender attitudes, while it was negatively correlated with life satisfaction and well-being. In light of the findings, the MGRS scale can be used as a reliable scale with construct and criterion validity in Türkiye. The results are discussed considering the adverse effects of ECRS on men's individual (physical and mental) and public health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of this study is to conduct a validity and reliability of the Online Grooming Risk Scale (OGR) within a Turkish adolescent population. The study included 324 adolescents, ranging in ages from 13 to 18 years. Confirmatory factor analysis, average variance explained (AVE), combined reliability (CR), and criterion-related validity studies were conducted to establish construct validity. Reliability assessments included Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's Omega for internal consistency, Spearman-Brown split-half reliability, and comparisons between the upper and lower 27% groups. Results indicated that the 8 items, 2-dimensional OGR had acceptable goodness-of-fit indices. Negative relationships were found between OGR and self-esteem and family support. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of the scale was found to be, McDonald's Omega was .91 and split-half reliability was .79. Statistically significant differences were determined between the upper and lower 27% groups. In conclusion, the OGR appears to be a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the risk of online grooming among adolescents in Türkiye. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
