Beyşehir Lake, located in one of the important karstic discharge basins of the Anatolian Plate, is Turkey's largest freshwater lake with a surface area of 650 km2, and is a very important wetland in terms of bio-ecological, socio-economic, and cultural aspects. Although the first records on Beyşehir Lake fishery date back to the 1910s, the first scientific findings on fisheries began in the 1950s. Although it is challenging to reach reliable data about the fishery of Lake Beyşehir, the main processes that have been effective in fishing from the 1950s to the present are: i) used fishing gear and methods, ii) changes in the trophic structure of the lake, iii) foreign fauna elements entering the lake, iv) the lake water level changes, v) fishermen's socio-economic and awareness level, vi) fisheries management strategies. The lake's catch yield was nearly 3 kg/ha in the 1950s, and it was determined as 13.34 kg/ha in 2021. While there have been significant changes in the fauna in the intervening time, it has been determined that there has been a substantial increase in the number of fishermen with the increasing amount of catch. Today, 23 fish species, 14 of which are endemic, live in the lake, which is at the mesotrophic-eutrophic level in terms of trophic status. The average catch amount between 2010 and 2021 was 669.051 kg/year. 67.41% of this amount was composed of Carassius gibelio (Prussian carp), 20.17% of Sander lucioperca (pike-perch), and 12.42% of Cyprinus carpio (carp). In 2021, the last fishing season, 75.41% of the caught species were Prussian carp, 21.47% pike-perch, and 3.11% carp. 385 fishermen are actively fishing in the lake, and according to the data of 2021, it has been determined that the fishermen have earned 13,970 TL/year in return for 2.252 kg/year of catch. As another result of this study, it has been understood that the most significant factor in the fishing ecosystem of Beyşehir Lake is untimely and excessive fishing., Anadolu plakasının önemli karstik boşalım havzalarından birinde yer alan Beyşehir Gölü 650 km2 yüzey alanı ile Türkiye’nin en büyük tatlısu gölü olmasının yanında; biyo-ekolojik, sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel yönlerden çok önemli bir sulak alandır. Beyşehir Gölü balıkçılığı üzerine tutulmuş ilk kayıtlar 1910’lara dayanmakla birlikte, balıkçılığa ait ilk bilimsel bulgular 1950’li yıllarda başlamıştır. Gölün balıkçılığı hakkında güvenli verilere ulaşmak oldukça zor olmakla beraber, 1950’lerden günümüze kadar olan süreçte balıkçılık üzerine etkin olan başlıca süreçlerin: i) kullanılan avcılık yöntemi ve av araçları, ii) gölün trofik yapısındaki değişimler, iii) yabancı fauna elemanlarının göle girmesi, iv) gölün su seviyesindeki değişimler, v) balıkçıların sosyo-ekonomik ve bilinç düzeyi, vi) balıkçılık yönetim stratejileri olduğu görülmüştür. Gölde 1950’lerde yaklaşık 3 kg/ha olan av verimi 2021 yılında 13,34 kg/ha olarak belirlenmiştir. Aradan geçen zamanda faunada önemli değişimler olurken, artan av miktarı ile birlikte balıkçı sayısında da önemli bir artış olduğu belirlenmiştir. Günümüzde 14’ü endemik olmak üzere 23 balık türünün yaşadığı ve mezotrofik-ötrofik düzeyde olan gölde, 2010-2021 yılları ortalamasına göre avlanan 669.051 kg balığın %67,41’ini Carassius gibelio (gümüşi havuzbalığı) %20,17’sini Sander lucioperca (sudak) ve %12,42’sini Cyprinus carpio (sazan) oluştururken; 2021 yılındaki avcılık dağılımının ise %75,41’ini gümüşi havuzbalığı, %21,47’sini sudak ve %3,11 kadarını ise sazan oluşturmuştur. Gölde 385 adet balıkçı aktif olarak avcılık yapmakta olup, 2021 yılı verilerine göre balıkçı başına 2.252 kg/yıl ava karşılık 13.790 TL/yıl kazanç elde edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın diğer bir sonucu olarak, Beyşehir Gölü balıkçılık ekosistemi üzerindeki en büyük etkenin zamansız ve aşırı avcılık olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

Orta Toroslar karst alanlardan beslenen Göksu Irmağı, Doğu Akdeniz Havzası’nın Akdeniz’e dökülen en büyük akarsuyudur. Bu çalışmada, 2004-2017 yılları arasında farklı tarihlerde yapılan örneklem, gözlem ve literatür ışığında; Göksu Irmağı balık faunasının güncel taksonomik durumu, dağılım alanları, IUCN koruma ölçütleri ve akarsu bölgelerinin ekolojik yapısı değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmamızda akarsuyun acısu bölgesi hariç 8 familyadan; 6’sı endemik olmak üzere 7’si yerli, 3’ü egzotik ve 1’i göçücü (diadrom) toplam 11 takson belirlenmiştir. Akarsuyun yukarı havzalarındaki bu yüksek endemizm oranı oldukça dikkat çekicidir. Irmağın ana kollarını oluşturan, yukarı-orta havza drenaj alanı içerisindeki, Göksu Çayı ve Ermenek Çayı (Gevne Çayı)’nın üzerinde gerçekleşen karayolu, köprü, baraj ve HES yapımı gibi fiziki tahribatların akarsu ekosisteminin doğal yapısını bozduğu, akarsu yatağında kısmi kurumalar ve habitat parçalanmasına neden olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu baskılar sonucunda, Göksu Çayı ve Gevne Çayı’nın baskın balık türü olan endemik Toros sirazı (Capoeta caelestes) popülasyon yoğunluğunun önemli ölçüde azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Aynı olumsuz etkenler nedeniyle Gevne Çayı’nın Beyreli Köyü (Hadim-Konya) ile Dumlugöze (Sarıveliler-Karaman) arasında kalan yaklaşık 45 km’lik üst kesiminde 2004-2009 yılları arsında nadiren örneklenen Kırmızıbenekli Alabalık (Salmo opimus) popülasyonunun yok olduğu belirlenmiştir., The Göksu River, fed by the Central Taurus karst areas, is the largest river of the Eastern Mediterranean Basin flowing into the Mediterranean. In this study, within the scope of the samples and observations we made on different dates between 2004-2017, and in the light of other research findings; The current taxonomic status of the Göksu River fish fauna, distribution areas, IUCN conservation criteria and ecological structure of the river regions were evaluated. In our study, except for the brackish water region of the stream; A total of 11 taxa were identified, belong to 8 families; 7 native (as 6 endemic and 1 widespread), 3 exotic and 1 migratory (diadromous). The high rate of endemism in the upper basins of the river is quite remarkable. There have been physical destructions such as the construction of highways, bridges, dams and HEPPs on Göksu Stream and Ermenek Stream (Gevne Stream) within the upper-middle basin drainage area, which form the main branches of this river. It has been observed that these destructions disrupt the natural structure of the river ecosystem, causing partial drying in the river bed and habitat fragmentation. As a result of these pressures on the stream, it has been determined that the population density of the endemic Taurus cirrus (Capoeta caelestes), which is the dominant fish species of Göksu Stream and Gevne Stream, has decreased significantly. Due to the same negative factors, it was determined that the red spotted trout (Salmo opimus) population, which was rarely sampled between 2004 and 2009, disappeared in the upper part of the Gevne Stream, approximately 45 km between Beyreli Village (Hadim-Konya) and Dumlugöze (Sarıveliler-Karaman).
