Aims: To determine the effect of the education and counseling intervention given to overweight and obese women according to the theory of planned behavior on their health behaviors. Methods: The study consisted of 78 overweight and obese women in total, between the ages of 18–49. While the women in the intervention group were given a 6‐month training program and 6‐month counseling service structured according to the theory of planned behavior, the women in the control group were given standard obesity training and were put on hold for 6 months. Results: There was a decrease in the post‐test anthropometric measurement values of the intervention group compared to the pretest. While there was no statistically significant change in the activity status of the control group over time, the inactivity rate of the intervention group decreased; however, the minimal activity rate increased over time. The post‐test healthy life style behaviors scale II health responsibility, physical activity, nutrition, stress management and total scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were significant. Conclusion: It has been determined that the education and counseling services applied to overweight and obese women based on the theory of planned behavior are effective in gaining positive health behaviors. Background: Memory impairment may be the first sign of an amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or geriatric depression. Loneliness hurts consciousness and mood in the elderly population. This study aimed to investigate the impact of loneliness on possible MCI and depressive symptoms in older adults with memory impairment. Method: The data of this cross-sectional study was collected from a single center in Sakarya. Standardized Mini Mental Test (SMMT), geriatric depression, and loneliness scales were applied to 120 older adults who met the inclusion criteria. SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis. Logistic regression analysis were used to determine possible risk factors of MCI and depression. p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: MCI was observed in 41.7%, and geriatric depression in 56.7% of participant. The variables of income level, low education status, loneliness were identified as risk factors for depression (p=0.011, p=0.021, p=0.000 respectively). There was no correlation between the loneliness scores and possible MCI (p=0.173). In addition, age and gender variables are risk factors for mild cognitive impairment, and the risk decreases as age decreases (p=0.004, p=0.033 respectively). Social loneliness scores were higher in women than men (p=0.015). Conclusion: Loneliness in multi-cultural aging population is perceived in different ways between genders. There is no clear evidence that loneliness has a potential impact on MCI. In geriatric depression, social and emotional loneliness; may be considered risk factors. Healthcare providers should consider incorporating depression screening and management into routine care for lonely older adults especially woman subgroup. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: This study was conducted to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the "Home Care Nursing Quality Scale". Material and Methods: The population of the study, which is of methodological type, consists of the relatives of the patients who receive health care services from a state hospital's home care services unit. The study sample consisted of 225 participants who received home care services between March and June 2021 and agreed to participate in the research. "Participants Information Form", "Patient Experience Questionnaire" and "Home Care Nursing Quality Scale" were used in data collection. Results: The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the 22-item scale is 0.98. The chi-square value degrees of freedom regarding the model's goodness of fit is 4.710 (p<0.05). The KMO value was 0.957, and the Bartlett Sphericity test result was statistically significant at the 0.000 level (p<0.05). It was determined that the three factors in the scale explained 92.28% of the total variance. Test and re-test correlation was found as r:0.88, p≤0.001. Conclusion: The "Home Care Nursing Quality Scale" has been determined to be a reliable and valid scale based on the results of the analyses. In order to increase the quality of home care services, it is recommended to use this measurement tool at regular intervals to evaluate and compare the quality of nursing services. Introduction: The prevalence of obesity has become a remarkable public health concern in a global extent. This study aimed to examine the difference between the healthy lifestyle behaviors of women with normal weight and those who are obese. Method: This comparative descriptive study included a total of 302 women aged 18–49 years. Results: According to regression analysis; duration of education (β = −0.154), (age (β = 0.376), presence of obese individuals in the family (β = 0.177) and HLSBS II scores (β = −0.115) were the factors that affected the BMI. The predictive value of these variables was 34.1%. Discussion: A significant difference was found between women with normal weight and obese women in terms of several sub-dimensions and overall HLSBS II score. We recommend that healthcare staff should design training and counseling services to improve the health behaviors of overweight and obese women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to determine the preferences and expectations of healthy individuals in case they were diagnosed with a fatal disease. The study was carried out qualitatively with 27 academicians. After the qualitative data were analyzed, three themes were formed which were "It is necessary to know the truth", "There is a reason of ignoring the truth", "The truths affect the expectations". According to the results of our study, it was determined that there was different personal reasons between individuals who want to know the truth and who want to ignore the truth, and the state of knowing death also differentiate the expectations.
