Most errors in laboratory medicine occur in the pre- and post-analytical phases of the total testing process (TTP). In 2014, the Spanish Society of Laboratory Medicine (SEQCML) started the current Preanalytical Phase EQA Programme, with the objective of providing a tool for the improvement of the preanalytical phase. The aim of this study was to review the evolution of quality indicators (QI) and the comparability of established performance specifications (PS) with other EQA programmes.

The quality of the restaurant service is an essential part to achieve success in the performance of its operations, this is built through the collaborators and materializes in customer service. The research that is presented below was developed in the restaurants of the San Vicente parish - San Vicente canton of the province of Manabí - Ecuador, whose objective was to analyze the quality and customer service for the improvement of the service, considering that the quality it always affects the perception of the service valued by the client in the attention and is decisive in the demand. The research is of a descriptive exploratory nature, the instruments and techniques used in the study were the survey and the unstructured interview. In the field study, the survey was applied to internal and external customers, a representative sample of restaurant customers was taken to investigate expectations and needs. The interview was addressed to the director of the decentralized autonomous government of San Vicente and the president of the Restaurant Association to analyze the experience and attention received by the union, among the main results it was revealed the lack of maintenance of the facilities, Lack of management of the command, ignorance of the inputs used in the menu dishes, there is job dissatisfaction, little attention from the authorities, meager qualified personnel for customer service, based on the problems encountered, an improvement proposal was formulated. Keywords: Restaurants, Collaborators, Customers, Quality of attention., La calidad en el servicio de los restaurantes forma parte esencial para alcanzar el éxito en el desempeño de sus operaciones, esta se construye a través de los colaboradores y se materializa en la atención al cliente. La investigación que a continuación se presenta se desarrolló en los restaurantes de la parroquia San Vicente- cantón San Vicente de la provincia de Manabí - Ecuador, cuyo objetivo fue analizar la calidad y la atención al cliente para el mejoramiento del servicio, considerando que la calidad siempre incide en la percepción del servicio valorado por el cliente en la atención y es determinante en la demanda. La investigación es de carácter exploratoria descriptiva, los instrumentos y técnicas utilizadas en el estudio fueron la encuesta y la entrevista no estructurada. En el estudio de campo se aplicó la encuesta a los clientes internos y externos se tomó una muestra representativa de los clientes de los restaurantes para indagar en las expectativas y necesidades. La entrevista fue dirigida a la directora del Gobierno autónomo descentralizado de San Vicente y al presidente de la Asociación de Restaurantes para sondear la experiencia y la atención que recibe el gremio, entre los principales resultados se situaron la escasez de mantenimiento de las instalaciones, carente manejo de la comanda, desconocimiento de los insumos usados en los platillos del menú, existe insatisfacción laboral, poca atención por las autoridades , exiguo personal calificado para atención al cliente, a partir de las problemáticas encontradas se formuló una propuesta de mejora. A través del presente trabajo de investigación, se pretende abordar la problemática que se ha evidenciado alrededor de la actividad minera de cara al impacto negativo al medio ambiente, así como a las comunidades, su cultura, cosmovisión y sus derechos a la vida, integridad personal, salud, entre otros derechos esenciales para predicar una existencia en condiciones dignas. A su turno, el estudio de la aludida problemática se efectuará de manera integral, tomando la minería como un elemento de desarrollo económico, pero, al mismo tiempo, analizándola como actividad sujeta a un marco constitucional que contiene unas finalidades y obligaciones dentro de la justicia ambiental y social que promueve el Estado Social de Derecho y en virtud de las cuales el desarrollo de la minería no puede realizarse de manera arbitraria, irresponsable o irracional so pena de poner en riesgo valores de interés superior para la humanidad. En tal sentido, se hará especial énfasis en la importancia del derecho y las instituciones creados por el ordenamiento jurídico para materializar los fines del Estado y servir de vehículo para llevar a buen fin la voluntad de la administración y las políticas públicas en torno a la regulación, vigilancia y control de la actividad minera. De esta manera se reflexionará sobre el derecho y el Estado y su necesaria transformación para retomar al ser humano como su centro y esencia. Objectives: Most errors in laboratory medicine occur in the pre- and post-analytical phases of the total testing process (TTP). In 2014, the Spanish Society of Laboratory Medicine (SEQC
ML ) started the current Preanalytical Phase EQA Programme, with the objective of providing a tool for the improvement of the preanalytical phase. The aim of this study was to review the evolution of quality indicators (QI) and the comparability of established performance specifications (PS) with other EQA programmes. Methods: In the SEQCML programme, participants were asked to register rejections of the main specimens and the causes for rejections. Data collected from 2014 to 2017, and then reviewed biennially (2018-2019), was used to calculate the percentiles; p25, p50, p75, and p90 for every round, and their means were set as PS. These PS were compared with the results of other programmes. Results: The evolution of QI results for 2018-2019 period showed general maintenance or improvement, e.g., a significant decrease in the number of serum samples with a haemolytic index =0.5 g/L, except for EDTA and citrate samples handle, maybe for an improvement in detection. The comparison with PS for the QI of the IFCC Working Group "Laboratory Errors and Patient Safety" and the Key Incident Management and Monitoring System (KIMMS) programme of the RCPA showed comparable results, supporting the validity of the established specifications. Conclusions: The PS obtained are a helpful tool for benchmarking and to identify processes of the preanalytical phase whose improvement should be set as a priority. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
