Cancer is one of the main socio-health problems in the world. The ageing of the Spanish population together with the high survival rates of cancer patients means that the number of centenarians in our country is increasing. The diagnosis and the evolutionary process of the disease generates situations of disability and dependence in the sick patient that affect him or herself, but also the family dynamics. The family is one of the main caregivers of the sick patient, and the role of main caregiver commonly falls on the female gender in the first degree of consanguinity, as is supported by this research. These careers may have and objective and subjective burden in caring for the sick patient. The Dependency Law is insufficient in its application and late in granting aid. The discipline of Social Work must be a guarantor of difnity for the sick patient and the main caregiver, anticipating future events of social needs derived from the oncological disease., La enfermedad de cáncer es uno de los principales problemas sociosanitarios en el mundo. El envejecimiento de la población española unido a las altas tasas de supervivencia de pacientes con cáncer hacen que el número de cententarios en nuestro país aumente. El diagnóstico y el proceso evolutivo de la enfermedad genera situaciones de discapacidad y dependencia en el paciente enfermo que afectan a este mismo, pero también a la dinámica familiar. La familia es uno de los principales sustentadores de cuidado del paciente enfermo, el rol del cuidador principal recae comúnmente en género femenino en primer grado de consanguinidad como así lo avala la presente investigación. Estos cuidadores pueden presentar carga obejtiva y subjetiva en el cuidado del paciente enfermo. La Ley de Dependencia resulta insuficiente en su aplicación y tardía en la concesión de ayudas. La disciplina de Trabajo Social debe ser garante de dignidad en el paciente enfermo y en el cuidador principal, adelantándose a futuros acontecimietnos de necesidades sociales derivadas de la enfermedad oncológica.

The dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 transmission are influenced by a variety of factors, including social restrictions and the emergence of distinct variants. In this study, we delve into the origins and dissemination of the Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants of concern in Galicia, northwest Spain. For this, we leveraged genomic data collected by the EPICOVIGAL Consortium and from the GISAID database, along with mobility information from other Spanish regions and foreign countries. Our analysis indicates that initial introductions during the Alpha phase were predominantly from other Spanish regions and France. However, as the pandemic progressed, introductions from Portugal and the USA became increasingly significant. Notably, Galicia’s major coastal cities emerged as critical hubs for viral transmission, highlighting their role in sustaining and spreading the virus. This research emphasizes the critical role of regional connectivity in the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and offers essential insights for enhancing public health strategies and surveillance measures.

La conocida como doctrina Parot fue una interpretación jurisprudencial llevada a cabo por el Tribunal Supremo en su STS 197/2006, de 28 de febrero, que implicó que los condenados en régimen de concurso real de delitos (en particular, etarras y otros condenados a delitos especialmente graves) conforme a las reglas del Código Penal de 1973 cumpliesen de una manera íntegra y efectiva los 30 años de prisión que el artículo 70.2 del mencionado texto legal establecía como límite legal de cumplimiento. Esta interpretación jurisprudencial se basaba en la aplicación de los beneficios penitenciarios no sobre el límite legal de 30 años de prisión anteriormente mencionado, sino sobre cada una de las penas impuestas al reo. Muchos de los sujetos afectados por la aplicación de esta doctrina interpusieron recurso de amparo ante el Tribunal Constitucional, la gran mayoría de ellos sin reconocimiento alguno. No obstante, la sentencia del Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos de 2013 en el caso Inés del Río Prada rechaza la aplicación retroactiva de esta doctrina, generando una serie de consecuencias entre las que destaca la excarcelación de aquellos sujetos a los que se les hubiese aplicado esta doctrina cuando en el momento en el que cometieron los hechos delictivos estuviese vigente el Código Penal de 1973, o directamente se les hubiese aplicado este texto legal (estos sujetos debían haber cumplido los 30 años de prisión establecidos como límite legal de cumplimiento máximo). Este hecho inició un debate interno en la sociedad española, caracterizado por la crispación y la desaprobación ante tal decisión. Actualmente, para el cumplimiento íntegro de la condena contamos con el artículo 78 del Código Penal, que a pesar de diferenciarse en muchos aspectos respecto de la doctrina Parot, tienen un claro punto de conexión: que el reo cumpla de una manera íntegra y efectiva la pena, implicando la inoperancia de los beneficios penitenciarios., The so-called Parot doctrine was a jurisprudential interpretation carried out by the Supreme Court in its STS 197/2006, of February 28, 2006, which implied that those convicted that were under the rules of the Criminal Code of 1973 would serve the full and effective 30 years of imprisonment that Article 70.2 of the aforementioned legal text established as the legal limit of compliance. Producción Científica, This study focuses on the analysis of the distribution, both spatial and temporal, of the PM10 (particulate matter with a diameter of 10 µm or less) concentrations recorded in nine EMEP (European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme) background stations distributed throughout mainland Spain between 2001 and 2019. A study of hierarchical clusters was used to classify the stations into three main groups with similarities in yearly concentrations: GC (coastal location), GNC (north–central location), and GSE (southeastern location). The highest PM10 concentrations were registered in summer. Annual evolution showed statistically significant decreasing trends in PM10 concentration in all the stations covering a range from −0.21 to −0.50 µg m−3/year for Barcarrota and Víznar, respectively. Through the Lamb classification, the weather types were defined during the study period, and those associated with high levels of pollution were identified. 156 p., La Enfermedad de Alzheimer es una enfermedad neurodegenerativa crónica que se caracteriza principalmente por una perdida gradual de memoria. Actualmente, no dispone de tratamiento y su etiopatogenia es desconocida, siendo la cascada amiloide una de hipótesis más aceptadas. En esta hipótesis, se sugiere una fase inicial en la que se produce la acumulación del péptido amiloide en losespacios interneuronales que posteriormente conlleva la formación de ovillos neurofibrilares y lesiones a nivel neuronal. En la fase preclínica, los individuos afectados no muestran sintomatología más allá de manifestaciones a nivel bioquímico. Más adelante, comienzan los primeros síntomas y se desarrollará la fase clínica con un deterioro progresivo del paciente. La Enfermedad de Alzheimer se considera una patología con origen multifactorial. Aunque algunos de estos factores no son modificables, como la edad,el gen APOE y el sexo femenino, otros si son modificables, como los factores asociados al riesgo cardiovascular. Este estudio se centra en la fase preclínica de la enfermedad, y su objetivo principal es determinar la asociación de las características sociodemográficas y el estado de salud en una muestra de personas adultas cognitivamente sanas con la evolución de los biomarcadores de la Enfermedad de Alzheimer en el líquido cefalorraquídeo.Para ello, se desarrolló un estudio prospectivo longitudinal enmarcado dentro del Proyecto Gipuzkoa Alzheimer, en el que se reclutaron 180 hombres y mujeres cognitivamente sanos. Todos ellos dieron su consentimiento para participar en dos fases del estudio (PGA1 y PGA2) y para la recogida de líquido cefalorraquídeo.
