Abstract

Positive electrodes for pseudocapacitators are commonly assembled with a pseudocapacitive material, an electrically conductive material, and a binder. Generally, binders present high electrical resistance, shown as losses in the electrode efficiency. Therefore, there is a need to develop new electrode materials with better electrical conduction properties. This paper proposes to replace the classical electrical binder-conductor system, in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) and LaMnO3 (LMO) pseudocapacitive electrodes, with the Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) PEDOT, a polymer with the double function of conductivity and binding. In this work, different LSMO and LMO electrode materials with PEDOT were synthesized by cyclic voltammetry at different ratios (5, 10, 15, 20, 30%wt) of pseudocapacitive material with respect to the conductive polymer. The LSMO/PEDOT type materials with a ratio of 15%wt showed the highest capacitance with a value around 116 F/g. Also, a high stability material was obtained as shown in charge–discharge curves, with efficiencies of 94% at 272 mA/s∙g discharge current cycles. Additionally, a cyclability test was performed with 5000 cycles showing a coulombic efficiency of 87% and only 10% of capacitance loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

28. A solitary myofibroma in the mandibular region: Case report.

Abstract

Solitary myofibroma (SM) is a proliferation of myofibroblasts that primarily develops in children, with a predilection for the head and neck, being uncommon in the jaws and mouth, where clinically it has been described as a variable-sized nodule and imagenologically as a unilocular radiolucent lesion with well-defined borders, with or without erosion of the mandible. An 18-year-old female patient went to the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the General Hospital of León with symptomatic tissue growth of approximately 6 cm in the left mandibular body. A hypodense, well-defined lesion was identified on tomography, and an excisional biopsy was performed. The histopathological study was carried out at the histopathological diagnosis service of ENES Unidad León, as well as an immunohistochemical panel and histochemical stains, determining the diagnosis of SM. The presence of SM in the mandible is rare, as evidenced by limited case reports and is even unusual in adults. Its clinical presentation can vary, and its histopathological appearance is very similar to other spindle cell lesions, which is why the similarities and differences between related lesions are discussed. MF represents a diagnostic challenge and, although rare, should be considered as a differential diagnosis of benign and malignant spindle cell mesenchymal proliferations. The diagnosis of these types of lesions should be based on histomorphology, with the use of immunohistochemistry and histochemistry being important to achieve their correct identification by exclusion and to implement appropriate management. Abstract

Abnormal cytoplasmic accumulation of fused in sarcoma (FUS) protein is the pathological hallmark of some cases of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) with transactive response DNA‐binding protein of 43KDa (TDP‐43)‐negative pathology that lack SOD1 mutations. FUS is an RNA‐binding protein located predominantly in the nucleus and is involved in regulation of transcription, alternative splicing, RNA stability, microRNA biogenesis, apoptosis and cell division. FUS, Ewing's sarcoma (EWS) and TATA‐binding protein‐associated factor 15 (TAF15) proteins constitute the FET (FUS/EWS/TAF15) family, highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed RNA‐binding proteins that shuttle between nucleus and cytoplasm assisted by the nuclear import protein Transportin 1 (Trn1), This study was partially funded by Fundació Marató de TV3 (grant no. 20143810 to RSV, no. 20141610 to EG and no. 201437.10 to RRG) and Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) (PI16/01673 to JG and PI15/01618 to RRG).
