Bu böceğin ülkemizde yonca tohumluk üretim alanlarında dikkat edilmesi gereken bir zararlı olduğu kanısına varılmıştır., The alfalfa seed chalcid, Bruchophagus roddi Gussakovskiy, 1933 (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae) is an important pest of alfalfa seeds (Medicago sativa L.). The study was carried out in order to determine the infestation rates of B. roddi on alfalfa seeds in alfalfa seed producing areas of Iğdır, Ağrı, Kars and Van provinces of the Eastern Anatolia Region. Seed sample surveys were performed in 76 alfalfa fields in August and September of 2016 and 2017. For this purpose, 100 seed clusters were collected from each alfalfa field. From the collected seed clusters, 5 seed capsules from each of 20 seed clusters (25 seed capsules in total) were dissected and larval counts were made. As a result, it was determined that the seeds were infested with B. roddi in all locations where the studies were carried out. On average, infestation rates of the seeds in 2016 and 2017 were 34.3% and 17.2% in Iğdır province, 25.1% and 13.6% in Ağrı province, 18.4% and 26.4% in Kars province, and 21% and 11.7% in Van province, respectively. It has been concluded that this insect is an important pest that needs attention in alfalfa seed producing areas in Türkiye.

Hesse sineği, Mayetiola destructor (Say) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta arpa bitkisinin önemli zararlılarındanbiridir. Çalışmada, M. destructor’a karşı bazı sistemik tohum ilaçlarının (İmidacloprid 600 g L-1 (IM), Clothianidin 600 g L-1 (CL) veThiamethoxam 350 g L-1 (TH)) 3 farklı dozu uygulanmıştır. Tohum ilaçlamasının yapıldığı parseller ileilaçlama yapılmayan parseller karşılaştırıldığında dekara % 37.1 oranında (43.5 kg da-1) verim artışı tespit edilmiştir., The Hessian fly, Mayetiola destructor (Say) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) is one of the important pests of barley plant inNorthern Cyprus. In the study, 3 different doses of some systemic insecticide seed (Imidacloprid 600 g L-1 (IM), Clothianidin 600 g L-1(CL) and Thiamethoxam 350 g L-1 (TH)) were applied against M. destructor. Experiments were carried out in 3 replications, in stripplots trial design in randomized blocks, using Athenais variety, in 2 locations (Türkmenköy+Paşaköy and Güzelyurt) for 3 seasons(2013-2016). After the emergence of the barley plant and its 10 cm height, larvae counts were made once a week in 25 randomly takenplants from each plot. The obtained data were analyzed by using the Jmp 13 statistical package program. Obtained values werecompared with chemical-free control plots. As a result of the studies, while the average value of 3.6 individual plant-1 was found in thecontrol plots, this value was found to be 0.8 individual plant-1 with the highest dose applied. Considering the averages of each 3 years, the highest number of siblings was obtained in Güzelyurt (3.25 siblings plant-1) from the CL application. While the test weight was60.96 kg in Güzelyurt, it was 48.82 kg in Paşaköy. Test weights were 55.51 kg in CL, 54.49 kg in IM and 54.66 kg in TH in chemicalaplicated plots. The highest test weight occurred in doses 2 and 3. The highest thousand kernel weight was obtained from the highestdoses of both plant protection products in Paşaköy location. For Hesse fly, the highest yield of pesticide application to seed beforeplanting was obtained from the highest doses of all applied pesticides compared to the control (117.4 kg da-1). However, there was ayield differences in TH 44.7 kg da-1 (162.1 kg da-1), IM 38.5 kg da-1 (155.9 kg da-1) and CL 47.2 kg da-1 (164.6 kg da-1). When theparcels where seed spraying was applied and the parcels that were not sprayed were compared, it was determined that a yield increase of37.1% (43.5 kg da-1) per decare.

In this study, the effects of essential oils obtained from above-ground parts of Salvia hydrangea DC. ex Bentham, Salvia verticillata L. subsp. amasiaca (Freyn. & Bornm.) Bornm. and Salvia nemorosa L. belonging to the Lamiaceae family collected from Iğdır province against important pests of stored products, Rhyzopertha dominica (Fabricius, 1792), Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L., 1758), Cryptolestes ferrugineus (Stephens, 1831), Tribolium confusum Jacquelin du Val, 1861, and Callosobruchus maculatus (Fabricius, 1775), were investigated. The obtained essential oils of these plants were prepared in three replications at 5, 10, and 15 μl Petri-1 doses under 25 ± 1 °C temperature and 65 ± 5% relative humidity conditions. LC50 and LC90 values were determined by looking at the mortality rates at 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours at different times. As a result of the studies, the toxicity levels of essential oils derived from Salvia species changed depending on the type of insect and plant, the concentration applied and the time after application, and the highest effect was obtained from the essential oil of S. hydrangea. This study was carried out to determine the Eurygaster (Laporte, 1832) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) species and their damage in the cereal cultivation areas of Iğdır province in 2015-2016. Sweeping net method was used for identification of Sunn pest species from 57 cereal cultivation fields in Aralık, Karakoyunlu, Merkez and Tuzluca districts between the periods from april to august. Overwintered adult Sunn pests and the nymphs were counted on 12 different points of each of the 24 wheat fields randomly using a ¼ m2 frame. The sucking rates (%) were identified through collection of average two kilograms of spikes from each field during the harvesting period of wheat. Sunn pest density at the wheat fields were identified as 4.69 and 2.97 nymph and OAS/m2 and the average sucking rates for grain were identified as 1.3% and 1.1% respectively for the years 2015 and 2016. However, it was observed that the sucking rates of the Sunn pests collected from the fields during the dough period of wheat cultivated in mountain villages of Tuzluca district were 3.3 % and 7.7 % for both years., Bu çalışma, 2015-2016 yıllarında Iğdır ili hububat ekiliş alanlarında Eurygaster (Laporte, 1832) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) türleri ve zarar durumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür.

Distribution: Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (Slamka, 2019). Remarks: S. campicolellla was described by Erschoff (1874) based on the female specimen from Turkestan. The genitalia of sample has not been dissected before (Sergey Sinev (Russia) pers. com.). However, Sinev (1994) synonymized Salebria melanochreella Ragonot, 1887 with Sciota campicolella and illustrated only male genitalia of. S. melanochreella. Likewise, Slamka (2019) gave only the male genitalia of the species. In this study, female genitalia of S. campicolella is dissected and described for the first time. Female Genitalia: Papillae anales triangular. Apophysis posterior about equal length with apophysis anterior, but the latter a little thicker. 8th tergite sclerotised. Antrum membranous, ductus bursae slightly sclerotised. Connection part of ductus bursae to bursa copulatrix granulated in front-terminally with numerous very small, distinct spines, and not granulated in back-terminally with numerous very small, sparse spines. Bursa copulatrix eliptical. A bump, roundish sclerotised plate in the nearly center of bursa copulatrix and in line with ductus seminalis. And, with numerous very small, sparse spines below the sclerotised plate area., Published as part of Akin, Kesran, Gözüaçik, Celalettin, Seven, Erdem & Türkoğlu, Mete, 2021, New species and new records of Pyraloid moths (Lepidoptera: Pyraloidea) from Turkey, pp. 529-540 in Zootaxa 4951 (3) on page 536, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4951.3.6, http://zenodo.org/record/4668411, {"references":["Erschoff, N. The material is deposited in the laboratory of Bitlis Eren Uni- versity, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology. Description: Adult morphology. Forewing length 13 mm. Lateral parts of frons beige and middle part white. Tegulae and patagia covered whitish and beige color. Antennae filiform, cilia yellowish-white and as long as 5/6 of segment width. Labial palps upturned and same with color of tegulae, end of segments whitish, segment 2 about 9 X length of segment 3. Forewing narrow, nearly triangular, apex slightly pointed, length about 3.25 X of width. Ground coloration grayish beige and some parts rusty (mostly the middle part of the wing from basal to postmedial line). Costal area interspersed with black and whitish scales. Antemedial line black, oblique, approximately middle part of the line interrupted. Postmedial line black, nearly starting R3 and running obliquely towards dorsum, curving at about CU2 and ending in dorsum as parallel to thorax. Discal spots black, almost reniform. Fringes creamy proximally and dark grey distally. Hindwing grayish and cilia whitish. Male genitalia: Uncus triangular, pointy at the tip, length about 2 X of width. The anal tube about 3/4 of the uncus. Gnathos almost 0.45 X length of uncus, and the inverted part of the tip of it sharped. Tegumen a bean shaped. Anellus U-shaped, and tip of lateral arms tongue-shaped. Valvae near to elongate, costal edge convex, cucullus nar- rowing roundish or roundish. Sclerotised structure on the valvae towards amidst from the proximal of valvae, and its last part tongue-shaped. Costal bar seclerotised, ending before reaching the tip of the valvae. Sacculus nearly half of valvae and tapering distally. Vinculum ventricle of the heart-shaped, and the base slightly concave. Aedeagus cylindrical and dorsal of ductus ejaculatorius slightly curved. Culcita with a pair of scale tufts on the sides. Female and biology unknown. Habitat: Mountainous steppe area with close agricultural lands. Remarks: Ancylosis igdirensis sp. nov. is characterised by the shape of processes on the valvae in all other known species of Ancylosis. Adults of A. igdirensis sp. nov. similar to A. validella (Christoph, 1877), which is known from Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia (Roesler, 1973). In order to compare A. igdirensis sp. nov. with A. validella, the studies of Roesler (1973) and Leraut (2014) were used. Diagnosis: The new species can be distinguished from A. validella by the mainly differences stated following: In A. validella, apex of the forewing rounded, uncus pointed, clasper pointed and long, costal bar reached tip of valvae, vinculum tapering proximally, culcita with 2 pair of scale tufts on the sides. But, in A. igdirensis sp. nov., apex of the forewing and uncus slightly pointed, clasper towards amidst from the proximal of valvae, and tongueshaped in last part, costal bar ending before reaching the tip, the base of the vinculum slightly concave, culcita with pair of scale tufts on the sides. Etymology: This species is named after Iğdır province, where specimens were collected.

The adults of Sitona humeralis Stephens, 1831 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) cause serious damages by feeding on the leaf and shoot parts of the clover plant (Medicago sativa L.), and the larvae on the capillary root and nodocytes. This article was carried out in the clover fields and laboratory in Iğdır province in 2019-2020 in order to determine the morphology and biology of S. humeralis. In the studies, in order to determine the egg stages of S. humeralis, a 1-4 cm deep topsoil containing clover plants in 5 different parts of the field, a soil plant with a depth of 20 cm and a surface area of 20 x 20 cm to determine the larva, pupa and adult stages were taken with the root with a shovel and examined in the laboratory. As a result of the studies, it was determined that S. humeralis overwinters in egg, larva and adult stages. Female insects lay some of their eggs in October and November in the autumn, pause their egg laying with the decrease of the air temperature, and continue to lay eggs until the end of March and early May as the weather gets warmer. The eggs were laid on the soil surface in the root zone of the clover plant. While the larvae emerging from the eggs laid in early October are active in the soil until the beginning of November, they spend the winter without feeding until the end of March to the beginning of April as the weather gets colder, and the larvae that come out of the eggs laid in the late April-early May and enter the pupa stage in the late May-June. Natural deaths start in April-May in adults who spend the winter, a new generation of adults start to emerge from June and the emergence continues until mid-July. From August to mid-October, the new generation adults spend their rest in the soil around the plant roots. In the studies, it was understood that S. humeralis produce a generation a year., Sitona humeralis Stephens, 1831 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)’in erginleri yonca bitkisinin (Medicago sativa L.) yaprak ve sürgün kısımlarında, larvaları ise kılcal kök ve nodozitelerde beslenerek ciddi zararlar oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmalarda S. humeralis’in yılda bir nesil verdikleri anlaşılmıştır.

- Abstract
The cereal leafminer, Syringopais temperatella Lederer (Lepidoptera: Scythridae) is an important pest in barley and wheat in Northern Cyprus. This study was carried out to identify the larval parasitoids and to determine the parasitism rate of S. temperatella. These studies were conducted in 42 cereal fields of 18 villages in Lefkoşa, Girne, Güzelyurt, Gazimağusa and İskele townships in 2012-2013 years, and 1567 and 862 larvae were collected in the two years, respectively. Larvae were kept inside boxes covered with nets in the laboratory at 25±1◦C and 65±5% r.h. Following pupation, adult moths and parasitoids were obtained and percentage of parasitized larvae was determined. At the end of the study, Bracon (Habrobracon) stabilis (Wesmael) (Braconidae) and Agathis gracilenta Tobias (Braconidae) species from Hymenoptera order were obtained. Bracon stabilis (93.4%) was determined as widespread and in higher level. A. gracilenta was identified for the first time as larval parasitoid of S. temperatella and also for Northern Cyprus and Cyprus Island. The average parasitism rate in cereal fields was 34.8-18.1% in Güzelyurt, 31.8-12.2% in İskele, 21.0-8.4% in Girne, 16.2-5.4% in Lefkoşa and, 9.5-1.8% in Gazimağusa townships in 2012-2013 years, respectively [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The host preferences of Trissolcus semistriatus Nees, an egg parasitoid of Sunnpest, Eurygaster integriceps Puton (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) were studied under laboratory conditions (25±1 ºC & 65±5% RH) in accordance with “free-choice” experimental design. For this purpose eggs of E. integriceps, Dolycoris baccarum (L.),Holcostethus vernalis (Wollf) and, Eurydema ornata (L.) and Piezedorus lituratus (Fabr.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) were exposed to T. semistriatus adults for 8 days. T. semistriatus parasitized eggs of E. integriceps and above mentioned Pentatomidae species with the averages of 45.1±7.3%, 29.0±2.6%, 15.6±2.8%, 5.7±6.3% and 4.6±1.9%, respectively. According to the results, it was concluded that E. integriceps was the most preferred species, followed by D. baccarum. It was also emphasized that taking environmental precautions to maintain natural populations of these species, H. vernalis, E. ornata and P. lituratus would be in favor of sustaining bio-control of Sunn pest., Deneme laboratuar şartlarında (25 ± 1 ºC ve % 65 ± 5 orantılı nem) “çoklu tercih” düzeninde kurulmuş, bu amaçla Süne, Eurygaster integriceps Puton (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) yumurta parazitoiti, Trissolcus semistriatus Nees (Hymenoptera, Scelionidae)’un E. integriceps, Dolycoris baccarum (L.), Holcostethus vernalis (Wollf), Eurydema ornata (L.) ve Piezedorus lituratus (F.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) türlerinin yumurtalarını parazitlemede 8 gün süresince tercihleri (%) belirlenmiştir.

The aim of this study was to determine damage state, and larvae parasitoids of N. noctuella found at alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) fields of Iğdır province in the years 2014-2015. For this aim, a survey was performed every 3-7 days in April-June and September-December months. In the survey, each field was monitored and the larvae were collected from alfalfa fields and kept in boxes covered with nets in the laboratory at 25±1ºC and 65±5% RH. and following pupation, adult moths and larvae parasitoids were obtained. During the survey conducted at alfalfa fields, the larvae of the pest preferred alfalfa fields planted in April month and damaged the plantation at changing rates by cutting-eating them from 3-5 cm upper part of root of alfalfa plants at the height of 7-10 cm. Of larvae cultivated in the laboratory, Chelonus oculator (Fabricius, 1775) C. inanitus (Linnaeus, 1767) parasitoids belonging to Braconidae (Hymenoptera) family were also obtained in the study. As a result, the present study revealed that Rush Veneer, N. noctuella for alfalfa plants was a new pest recorded for the first time in Turkey. N. noctuella is the new host of C. oculator and C. inanitus in the world.
