1. Shaping terahertz waves using anisotropic shear modes in a van der Waals mineral

Abstract: Naturally occurring van der Waals (vdW) materials are currently attracting significant interest due to their potential as low-cost sources of two-dimensional materials. Valuable information on vdW materials' interlayer interactions is present in their low-frequency rigid-layer phonon spectra, which are experimentally accessible by terahertz spectroscopy techniques. In this work, we have used polarization-sensitive terahertz time-domain spectroscopy to investigate a bulk sample of the naturally abundant, large bandgap vdW mineral clinochlore. We observed a strong and sharp anisotropic resonance in the complex refractive index spectrum near 1.13 THz, consistent with our density functional theory predictions for shear modes. Polarimetry analysis revealed that the shear phonon anisotropy reshapes the polarization state of transmitted THz waves, inducing Faraday rotation and ellipticity. Furthermore, we used Jones formalism to discuss clinochlore phononic symmetries and describe our observations in terms of its eigenstates of polarization. These results highlight the potential of exploring vdW minerals as central building blocks for vdW heterostructures with compelling technological applications.

2. Preparation and Characterization of High Quality Bi1-xSbx Thin Films: A Sputtering Deposition Approach

Abstract: The Bi1-xSbx was the first 3D topological insulator found in nature. It presents a complex electronic structure with topological to trivial transition and a semimetallic to semiconductor transition, both achieved by changing the x fraction of Sb. The complex nature of this system may lead to several electronic and topological phases in matter, making it a promising quantum material. Here, we focused on preparing very high-quality thin films samples of Bi1-xSbx with varying fraction of x using the Co-deposition Magnetron Sputtering technique. Our results demonstrate that high-quality samples, with compact and uniform morphology, presenting a preferential direction of growth, can be obtained over SiO2 substrate. Our findings suggest a dependence between the thin films crystalline texture and the composition of the samples, as well as the deposition temperature., Comment: 6 pages and 6 figures

3. Triply Resonant Microwave to Optical Conversion in Erbium-170 Doped Yttrium Orthosilicate

Abstract: We report microwave to optical upconversion in isotopically purified erbium-doped yttrium orthosilicate in a Fabry-P\'erot resonator at millikelvin temperatures. This follows on from investigations made at higher temperatures and with natural isotopic ratios for the erbium dopants. In these previous investigations the highest efficiency was seen only for moderately strong microwave powers. The removal of the unwanted erbium-167 which has hyperfine structure and provides unwanted background optical absorption, and the lower temperatures has removed this problem. We now see efficiencies still increasing as the microwave power is decreased when we reach the smallest input powers for which we could measure an output. Efficiencies of $2\times10^{-6}$ were observed and we discuss potential improvements, including better optical cavity frequency stability and better thermalisation of the erbium spins., Comment: 8 Pages, 7 Figures

4. The largest fragment in self-similar fragmentation processes of positive index

Abstract: Take a self-similar fragmentation process with dislocation measure $\nu$ and index of self-similarity $\alpha > 0$. Let $e^{-m_t}$ denote the size of the largest fragment in the system at time $t\geq 0$. We prove fine results for the asymptotics of the stochastic process $(s_{t \geq 0}$ for a broad class of dislocation measures. In the case where the process has finite activity (i.e.\ $\nu$ is a finite measure with total mass $\lambda>0$), we show that setting \begin{equation*} g(t) :=\frac{1}{\alpha}\left(\log t - \log \log t + \log(\alpha \lambda)\right), \qquad t\geq 0, \end{equation*} we have $\lim_{t \to \infty} (m_t - g(t)) = 0$ almost-surely. In the case where the process has infinite activity, we impose the mild regularity condition that the dislocation measure satisfies \begin{equation*} \nu(1-s_1 > \delta ) = \delta^{-\theta} \ell(1/\delta), \end{equation*} for some $\theta \in (0,1)$ and $\ell:(0,\infty) \to (0,\infty)$ slowly varying at infinity. 5. Quantum-mechanical description of angular motion of fission fragments at scission

Abstract: The quantum-mechanical description of the collective angular motion in a system of two touching fission fragments is proposed. The main peculiarities of excitation spectrum and the structure of the wave functions are investigated. As found, the angular motion approximately corresponds to independent vibrations of fragments around the pole-to-pole configuration. The model allows us to explain the experimentally observed lack of correlation between the angular momenta of fission fragments. Additionally the correlation between angular momentum and fragment mass is primarily linked to the change of fragments deformation. The saw-tooth behavior of angular momentum distribution with respect to the fragment mass is well explained.

6. Suppression of the Mott insulating phase in the particle-hole asymmetric Hubbard model

Abstract: We explore the phase diagram of the Mott metal-insulator transition (MIT), focusing on the effects of particle-hole asymmetry (PHA) in the single-band Hubbard model. Our dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) study reveals that the introduction of PHA in the model significantly influences the critical temperature ($T_c$) and interaction strength ($U_c$), as well as the size of the co-existence region of metallic and insulating phases at low temperatures. Specifically, as the system is moved away from particle-hole symmetry, $T_c$ decreases and $U_c$ increases, indicating a suppression of the insulating phase and the strengthening of the metallic behavior. Additionally, the first-order transition line between metallic and insulating phases is better defined in the model with PHA, leading to a reduced co-existence region at $T

7. Magnetic quadrupole dichroism in isotropic medium

Abstract: For an isotropic medium, a magnetic field applied in the Voigt geometry affects the optical properties in the second order only, so its effect is much weaker than in the Faraday geometry. In this work, we show that, under resonant excitation well beyond the linear regime, the situation changes drastically: A small magnetic linear anisotropy considerably increases, and an even stronger new quadrupole dichroism emerges. The latter manifests itself as 90{\deg}-periodic azimuthal dependence of transmission and anisotropic rotation of the probe polarization plane. These effects are described microscopically in a toy model and their symmetry analysis is presented. Both are observed experimentally on the D2 resonance of cesium vapor and agree with the theoretical predictions. The large magnitude of the quadrupole dichroism makes it promising for magnetometric applications and for studying the effects of anisotropic bleaching., Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures

Abstract: Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) is a critical task in Natural Language Processing (NLP) that focuses on extracting sentiments related to specific aspects within a text, offering deep insights into customer opinions. Traditional sentiment analysis methods, while useful for determining overall sentiment, often miss the implicit opinions about particular product or service features. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the evolution of ABSA methodologies, from lexicon-based approaches to machine learning and deep learning techniques. We emphasize the recent advancements in Transformer-based models, particularly Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and its variants, which have set new benchmarks in ABSA tasks. We focused on finetuning Llama and Mistral models, building hybrid models using the SetFit framework, and developing our own model by exploiting the strengths of state-of-the-art (SOTA) Transformer-based models for aspect term extraction (ATE) and aspect sentiment classification (ASC). Our hybrid model Instruct - DeBERTa uses SOTA InstructABSA for aspect extraction and DeBERTa-V3-baseabsa-V1 for aspect sentiment classification. We utilize datasets from different domains to evaluate our model's performance. Our experiments indicate that the proposed hybrid model significantly improves the accuracy and reliability of sentiment analysis across all experimented domains. As per our findings, our hybrid model Instruct - DeBERTa is the best-performing model for the joint task of ATE and ASC for both SemEval restaurant 2014 and SemEval laptop 2014 datasets separately. By addressing the limitations of existing methodologies, our approach provides a robust solution for understanding detailed consumer feedback, thus offering valuable insights for businesses aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and product development.

9. Laser-induced fragmentation of coronene cations

Abstract: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are an important component of the interstellar medium of galaxies and photochemistry plays a key role in the evolution of these species in space. Here, we explore the photofragmentation behaviour of the coronene cation (C24H12+) using time of flight mass spectrometry. The experiments show photodissociation fragmentation channels including the formation of bare carbon clusters (Cn+) and hydrocarbon chains (CnHx+). The mass spectrum of coronene is dominated by peaks from C11+ and C7H+. Density functional theory was used to calculate relative energies, potential dissociation pathways, and possible structures for relevant species. We identify 6-6 to 5-7 ring isomerisation as a key step in the formation of both the bare carbon clusters and the hydrocarbon chains observed in this study. 10. Photofragmentation of Corannulene (C20H10) and Sumanene (C21H12) cations in gas phase and its Astrophysical implications

Abstract: The aromatic infrared Bands (AIBs) dominate the mid-infrared spectra of many galactic and extragalactic sources. These AIBs are generally attributed to fluorescent emission from aromatic molecules. Unified efforts from experimentalists and theoreticians to assign these AIB features have recently gotten additional impetus with the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) as the Mid-InfraRed Instrument (MIRI) delivers mid-IR spectrum with greatly increased sensitivity and spectral resolution. PAHs in space can exist in either neutral or ionic forms, absorb UV photons and undergo fragmentation, becoming a rich source of small hydrocarbons. This top-down mechanism of larger PAHs fragmenting into smaller species is of utmost importance in photo-dissociation regions (PDR) in space. In this work, we experimentally and theoretically investigate the photo-fragmentation pathways of two astronomically significant PAH cations - corannulene (C20H10) and sumanene (C21H12) that are structural motifs of fullerene C60, to understand their sequential fragmentation pathways. The photo-fragmentation experiments exhibit channels that are much different from planar PAHs. The breakdown of carbon skeleton is found to have different pathways for C20H10 and C21H12 because of the number and positioning of pentagon rings; yet the most abundant low mass cations produced by these two species are found to be similar. The low mass cations showcased in this work could be of interest for their astronomical detections. For completeness, the qualitative photo fragmentation behaviour of the dicationic corannulene and sumanene have also been experimented, but the potential energy surface of these dications are beyond the scope of this paper., Comment: 17 pages, 12 figures. 11. Flare heating of the chromosphere: Observations of flare continuum from GREGOR and IRIS

Abstract: Context: On 2022 May 4, an M5.7 flare erupted in the active region NOAA 13004, which was the target of a coordinated campaign between GREGOR, IRIS, Hinode, and ground-based instruments at the Ond\v{r}ejov observatory. A flare kernel located at the edge of a pore was co-observed by the IRIS slit and GREGOR HiFI+ imagers. Aims: We investigated the flare continuum enhancement at different wavelength ranges in order to derive the temperature of the chromospheric layer heated during the flare. Methods: All datasets were aligned to IRIS slit-jaw images. We selected a pixel along the IRIS slit where the flare kernel was captured and evaluated multi-wavelength light curves within it. We defined a narrow IRIS near-UV band that comprises only continuum emission. The method, which assumes that the flare continuum enhancement is due to optically thin emission from hydrogen recombination processes, was applied to obtain a lower limit on the temperature in the layer where the continuum enhancement was formed. Results: We determined a lower limit for the temperature and its time evolution in the chromospheric layer heated during the flare in the range of (3-15).10^3 K. The mean electron density in that layer was estimated to be about 1.10^(13) cm^(-3). Conclusions: Multi-wavelength flare co-observations are a rich source of diagnostics. Due to the rapidly evolving nature of flares, the sit-and-stare mode is key to achieving a high temporal cadence that allows one to thoroughly analyse the same flare structure., Comment: 14 pages, 10 figures

Abstract: The gas-phase abundance of carbon, x_C = C/H, and its depletion factors are essential parameters for understanding the gas and solid compositions that are ultimately incorporated into planets. The majority of protoplanetary disks are born in clusters and, as a result, are exposed to external FUV radiation. These FUV photons potentially affect the disk's evolution, chemical composition, and line excitation. We present the first detection of the [CI]609um fine-structure line of neutral carbon (CI), achieved with ALMA, toward one of these disks, d203-506, in the Orion Nebula Cluster. We also report the detection of CI forbidden and permitted lines (from electronically excited states up to 10 eV) observed with JWST in the IR. These lines trace the irradiated outer disk and photo-evaporative wind. Contrary to the common belief that these IR lines are C+ recombination lines, we find that they are dominated by FUV-pumping of CI followed by fluorescence cascades. They trace the transition from atomic to molecular gas, and their intensities scale with G0. The lack of outstanding IR OI fluorescent emission, however, implies a sharper attenuation of external FUV radiation with E > 12 eV (~Lyman-beta). This is related to a lower effective FUV dust absorption cross section compared to that of interstellar grains, implying a more prominent role for FUV shielding by the CI photoionization continuum. The [CI]609um intensity is proportional to N(CI) and can be used to infer x_C. We derive x_C ~ 1.4E-4. This implies that there is no major depletion of volatile carbon compared to x_C measured in the natal cloud, hinting at a young disk. We also show that external FUV radiation impacts the outer disk and wind by vertically shifting the water freeze-out depth, which results in less efficient grain growth and settling. 13. Charged solution with equal metric ansatz in Gauss-Bonnet theory coupled to scalar field

Abstract: In the course of this research, we employ the Gauss-Bonnet equation of motion alongside the scalar field and potential to acquire a fresh solution for a spherically symmetrical charged black hole. Specifically, we derive this black hole solution by employing a metric potential where the components are equal, that is, $g_{tt}=g_{rr}$. In our research, we achieve several accomplishments, including fixing the characteristics of the scalar field, and the Gauss-Bonnet term. We thoroughly examine the physical properties associated with such black hole and show that we have supplementary terms when compared to the Reissner-Nordstr\"om black hole solution. These additional terms are of the order $O(\frac{1}{r^6})$ and $O(\frac{1}{r^9})$. The presence of these supplementary terms can be attributed to the impact of the scalar function denoted as $\xi$. Such expressions play a crucial role in generating the multi-horizon black hole solution. 14. Higher-derivative four-dimensional sine-Gordon model

Abstract: The phase structure of a higher derivative sine-Gordon model in four dimensions is analysed. It is shown that the inclusion of a relevant two-derivative term in the action significantly modifies some of the results obtained by neglecting this operator, and the final picture is substantially different from the one describing the phase diagram associated with the two-dimensional Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transition. The study is carried out with the help of the Renormalization Group (RG) flow equations, determined for a set of three parameters, and numerically solved both for a truncated series expansion approximation, and for the complete set of equations. In both cases, a continuous line of fixed points, terminating at a particular point presenting universal properties, is found, together with a manifold that separates two phases, roughly characterized by the sign of the coupling $\widetilde z_k$ associated with this newly included operator. While the phase corresponding to $\widetilde z_k>0$ shows some pathologies, the one with $\widetilde z_k<0$ has a well-behaved infrared limit, where the system reduces to a Gaussian-like model. 15. Towards Living Software Architecture Diagrams

Abstract: Software architecture often consists of interconnected components dispersed across source code and other development artifacts, making visualization difficult without costly additional documentation. Although some tools can automatically generate architectural diagrams, these hardly fully reflect the architecture of the system. We propose the value of automatic architecture recovery from multiple software artifacts, combined with the ability to manually adjust recovered models and automate the recovery process. We present a general approach to achieve this and describe a tool that generates architectural diagrams for a software system by analyzing its software artifacts and unifying them into a comprehensive system representation. This representation can be manually modified while ensuring that changes are reintegrated into the diagram when it is regenerated. We argue that adopting a similar approach in other types of documentation tools is possible and can render similar benefits.

16. Revisiting Flat Rotation Curves in Chern-Simons Modified Gravity

Abstract: We revisit slow rotating black hole (BH) solutions in Chern-Simons modified gravity (CSMG) by considering perturbative solution about Schwarzschild BH. In particular, the case when nondynamical CSMG with noncanonical CS scalar is considered. We provide a new solution different from the previously obtained one \cite{Konno:2007ze} which we refer to as KMT model. The present solution accounts for frame dragging effect which includes not only radial dependence as in the KMT. Nevertheless, it reduces to KMT as a particular case. We show that the tidal gravitational force (Kretschmann invariant) associated to the present solution contains a term of order $1/r^3$ additional to Schwarzschild but absent from directional divergence, unlike KMT model which diverges along the axis of symmetry. We derive the corresponding circular velocity of a massive test particle in which the KMT velocity is recovered in addition to an extra term $\propto r$. We investigate possible constraints on KMT and the present solutions from the observed rotation curve of UGC11455 galaxy as an example. Abstract: We present results from a search for X-ray/gamma-ray counterparts of gravitational-wave (GW) candidates from the third observing run (O3) of the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) network using the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (Swift-BAT). The search includes 636 GW candidates received in low latency, 86 of which have been confirmed by the offline analysis and included in the third cumulative Gravitational-Wave Transient Catalogs (GWTC-3). Targeted searches were carried out on the entire GW sample using the maximum--likelihood NITRATES pipeline on the BAT data made available via the GUANO infrastructure. We do not detect any significant electromagnetic emission that is temporally and spatially coincident with any of the GW candidates. We report flux upper limits in the 15-350 keV band as a function of sky position for all the catalog candidates. For GW candidates where the Swift-BAT false alarm rate is less than 10$^{-3}$ Hz, we compute the GW--BAT joint false alarm rate. Finally, the derived Swift-BAT upper limits are used to infer constraints on the putative electromagnetic emission associated with binary black hole mergers., Comment: 50 pages, 10 figures, 4 tables

18. Topological AdS black holes surrounded by Chaplygin dark fluid: from stability to geometrothermodynamic analysis

Abstract: Implementing the concept of Dark Fluid with a Chaplygin-like equation of state within General Relativity, we construct a new higher-dimensional, static, and spherically symmetric anti-de Sitter (AdS) black hole solution. Energy conditions are explored alongside curvature singularity tools. The inspection at the level of the phase structure and $P-v$ critical behavior is carried out in the context of the extended phase space, where the cosmological constant appears as pressure. Our findings disclose non-trivial similarities between the small/large phase transition of AdS black holes surrounded by Chaplygin dark fluid and van der Waals systems' liquid/gas phase transition. This analysis offers insights into the physical interpretation of the $P-v$ diagram and identifies critical exponents that reveal the scaling behavior of thermodynamic quantities close to criticality in a universal manner. We finally deepen our understanding of the thermodynamic properties and microstructure of AdS black holes by leveraging the geometrothermodynamic formalism. Specifically, we employ tools, including Weinhold, Ruppeiner, Hendi-Panahiyan-Eslam-Momennia (HPEM) and Quevedo classes I and II. We show that each class of metrics predicts either the physical limitation point and/or the phase-transition critical points, with HPEM and Quevedo formulations providing richer information about the phase transitions. 19. NICER timing of the X-ray thermal isolated neutron star RX J0806.4--4123

Abstract: The X-ray thermal isolated neutron star (XTINS) RX J0806.4--4123 shows interesting multiwavelength properties that seemingly deviate from those of similar neutron stars. An accurate determination of the spin frequency change over time can assist in interpreting RX J0806.4-4123's properties in comparison to those of other XTINSs and the wider pulsar population. From 2019 to 2023 we carried out a tailored X-ray timing campaign of RX J0806.4-4123 with the NICER instrument. We used statistical properties of the Fourier coefficients and the $Z_K^2$ test for phase-connecting separate observations and finding a timing solution for the entire dataset. We also developed a simple and universal method for estimating the uncertainties of frequency $\nu$ and its derivative $\dot{\nu}$ from the empirical dependencies of $Z_K^2$ on trial values of these parameters, with account of all significant harmonics of the frequency. Applying this method, we determined a spin-down rate $\dot{\nu} = -7.3(1.2)\times 10^{-17}\,{\rm Hz\, s}^{-1}$. The resulting spin-down power $\dot{E}=2.6\times 10^{29}$ erg s$^{-1}$ is the lowest among the XTINSs, and it is a factor of 60 lower than the X-ray luminosity of this neutron star. Abstract: (abridged) The third data release of Gaia, has provided stellar parameters, metallicity [M/H], [{\alpha}/Fe], individual abundances, broadening parameter from its RVS spectra for about 5.6 million objects thanks to the GSP-Spec module. The catalogue publishes the radial velocity of 33 million sources. We took advantage of the intersections between Gaia RVS and Gaia-ESO to compare their stellar parameters, abundances and radial and rotational velocities. We aimed at verifying the overall agreement between the two datasets, considering the various calibrations and the quality-control flag system suggested for the Gaia GSP-Spec parameters. For the targets in common between Gaia RVS and Gaia-ESO, we performed several statistical checks on the distributions of their stellar parameters, abundances and velocities of targets in common. For the Gaia surface gravity and metallicity we considered both the uncalibrated and calibrated values. We find an excellent agreement between the Gaia and Gaia-ESO radial velocities given the uncertainties affecting each dataset. Less than 25 of ~2100 Gaia-ESO spectroscopic binaries are flagged as non-single stars by Gaia. The temperature scales are in good agreement. The calibrated GSP-Spec gravity should be preferred. We note that the quality (accuracy, precision) of the GSP-Spec parameters degrades quickly for objects fainter than G~11. We find that the somewhat imprecise GSP-Spec abundances due to its medium-resolution spectroscopy over a short wavelength window and the faint G regime of the sample under study can be counterbalanced by working with averaged quantities. We studied some properties of the open-cluster population: our combined sample traces very well the radial [Fe/H] and [Ca/Fe] gradients, the age-metallicity relations in different radial regions, and it places the clusters in the thin disc., Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy & Astrophysics

Abstract: The objective of this research is to explore compact celestial objects while considering the framework of an extended gravitational theory known as $\mathcal{R}+f(\mathcal{G})$ gravity. The notations $\mathcal{R}$ and $\mathcal{G}$ denote the Ricci scalar and the Gauss-Bonnet invariant, respectively. Radio pulsars, which are neutron stars with masses greater than 1.8 times that of the Sun ($M_\odot$), provide exceptional opportunities for delving into fundamental physics in extraordinary environments unparalleled in the observable universe and surpassing the capabilities of experiments conducted on Earth. Through the utilization of both the linear and quadratic expressions of the function { $f(\mathcal{G}) = \alpha_1 \mathcal{G}^2$, where $\alpha_1$ (with dimensional units of [${\textit length}^6$]) are incorporated}, we have achieved an accurate analytical solution for anisotropic perfect-fluid spheres in a state of hydrostatic equilibrium. By integrating the dimensional parameters $\alpha_1$ and the compactness factor, defined as ${\mathcal C=\frac{2GM}{Rc^2}}$, we showcase our capacity to encompass and depict all physical characteristics within the stellar structure. We illustrate that the model is capable of producing a stable arrangement encompassing its physical and geometric properties. Abstract: Since the dawn of the digitalisation era, customer feedback and online reviews are unequivocally major sources of insights for businesses. Consequently, conducting comparative analyses of such sources has become the de facto modus operandi of any business that wishes to give itself a competitive edge over its peers and improve customer loyalty. Sentiment analysis is one such method instrumental in gauging public interest, exposing market trends, and analysing competitors. While traditional sentiment analysis focuses on overall sentiment, as the needs advance with time, it has become important to explore public opinions and sentiments on various specific subjects, products and services mentioned in the reviews on a finer-granular level. To this end, Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), supported by advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques which have contributed to a paradigm shift from simple word-level analysis to tone and context-aware analyses, focuses on identifying specific aspects within the text and determining the sentiment associated with each aspect. In this study, we compare several deep-NN methods for ABSA on two benchmark datasets (Restaurant14 and Laptop-14) and found that FAST LSA obtains the best overall results of 87.6% and 82.6% accuracy but does not pass LSA+DeBERTa which reports 90.33% and 86.21% accuracy respectively.

23. First results on monolithic CMOS detector with internal gain

Abstract: In this paper we report on a set of characterisations carried out on the first monolithic LGAD prototype integrated in a customised 110 nm CMOS process having a depleted active volume thickness of 48 $\mu$m. This prototype is formed by a pixel array where each pixel has a total size of 100 $\mu$m $\times$ 250 $\mu$m and includes a high-speed front-end amplifier. After describing the sensor and the electronics architecture, both laboratory and in-beam measurements are reported and described. Optical characterisations performed with an IR pulsed laser setup have shown a sensor internal gain of about 2.5. With the same experimental setup, the electronic jitter was found to be between 50 ps and 150 ps, depending on the signal amplitude. Moreover, the analysis of a test beam performed at the Proton Synchrotron (PS) T10 facility of CERN with 10 GeV/c protons and pions indicated that the overall detector time resolution is in the range of 234 ps to 244 ps. Further TCAD investigations, based on the doping profile extracted from $C(V)$ measurements, confirmed the multiplication gain measured on the test devices. Finally, TCAD simulations were used to tune the future doping concentration of the gain layer implant, targeting sensors with a higher avalanche gain. This adjustment is expected to enhance the timing performance of the sensors of the future productions, in order to cope with the high event rate expected in most of the near future high-energy and high-luminosity physics experiments, where the time resolution will be essential to disentangle overlapping events and it will also be crucial for Particle IDentification (PID).

Abstract: In this work, the Ginzburg-Landau theory is represented on a symplectic manifold with a phase space content. The order parameter is defined by a quasi-probability amplitude, which gives rise to a quasi-probability distribution function, i.e., a Wigner-type function. The starting point is the thermal group representation of Euclidean symmetries and gauge symmetry. Well-known basic results on the behavior of a superconductor are re-derived, providing the consistency of representation. The critical superconducting current density is determined and its usual behavior is inferred. Abstract: A novel method to reconstruct the energy of hadronic showers in the CMS High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) is presented. The HGCAL is a sampling calorimeter with very fine transverse and longitudinal granularity. The active media are silicon sensors and scintillator tiles readout by SiPMs and the absorbers are a combination of lead and Cu/CuW in the electromagnetic section, and steel in the hadronic section. The shower reconstruction method is based on graph neural networks and it makes use of a dynamic reduction network architecture. It is shown that the algorithm is able to capture and mitigate the main effects that normally hinder the reconstruction of hadronic showers using classical reconstruction methods, by compensating for fluctuations in the multiplicity, energy, and spatial distributions of the shower's constituents. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated using test beam data collected in 2018 prototype of the CMS HGCAL accompanied by a section of the CALICE AHCAL prototype. Abstract: In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $\gamma$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. 27. On the Interpretation of Mid-Infrared Absorption Lines of Gas-Phase H$_2$O as Observed by JWST/MIRI

Abstract: Ro-vibrational absorption lines of H$_2$O in the 5-8 $\mu$m wavelength range selectively probe gas against the mid-infrared continuum emitting background of the inner regions of YSOs and AGN and deliver important information about these warm, dust-obscured environments. JWST/MIRI detects these lines in many lines of sight at a moderate spectral resolving power of $R\sim3500$ (FWHM of 85 km/s). Based on our analysis of high-resolution SOFIA/EXES observations, we find that the interpretation of JWST/MIRI absorption spectra can be severely hampered by the blending of individual transitions and the lost information on the intrinsic line width or the partial coverage of the background continuum source. In this paper, we point out problems such as degeneracy that arise in deriving physical properties from an insufficiently resolved spectrum. This can lead to differences in the column density by two orders of magnitude. We emphasize the importance of weighting optically thin and weak lines in spectral analyses and provide recipes for breaking down the coupled parameters. 28. A compact stellarator-tokamak hybrid

Abstract: Tokamaks and stellarators are the leading two magnetic confinement devices for producing fusion energy, begging the question of whether the strengths of the two could be merged into a single concept. To meet this challenge, we propose a first-of-its kind optimized stellarator-tokamak hybrid. Compared to a typical tokamak coil set, only a single simple type of stellarator coil has to be added which leads to a compact, volume- and transport-preserving magnetic field, with an added rotational transform that reaches levels thought to enhance stability.

29. Low energy alpha-nucleus optical potential studied via (a,n) cross section measurements on Te isotopes

Abstract: In several processes of stellar nucleosynthesis, like the astrophysical gamma-process, nuclear reactions involving alpha particles play an important role. The description of these reactions necessitates the knowledge of the alpha-nucleus optical model potential (AOMP) which is highly ambiguous at low, astrophysical energies. This ambiguity introduces a substantial uncertainty in the stellar models for predicting elemental and isotopic abundances. The experimental study of the AOMP is thus necessary which can be implemented by measuring the cross section of alpha-induced nuclear reactions. At low energies, (a,n) reactions are suitable for such a purpose. Therefore, in the present work, the (a,n) cross sections of four Te isotopes have been measured, mostly for the first time, and compared with theoretical predictions. The (a,n) cross sections of 120,122,124,130Te have been measured in the energy range between about 10 and 17 MeV using the activation method. The detection of the gamma radiation following the decay of the radioactive reaction products were used to determine the cross sections. The measured cross sections are compared with statistical model calculations obtained from the widely used TALYS nuclear reaction simulation code. Predictions using various available AOMPs are investigated. It is found that the recently developed Atomki-V2 AOMP provides the best description for all studied reactions and this potential also reproduces well the total reaction cross sections from elastic scattering experiments, when they are available in literature. We recommend therefore to use the astrophysical reaction rates based on this potential for nucleosynthesis models of heavy elements., Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev. C

Abstract: Quantum field theory predicts a nonlinear response of the vacuum to strong electromagnetic fields of macroscopic extent. This fundamental tenet has remained experimentally challenging and is yet to be tested in the laboratory. A particularly distinct signature of the resulting optical activity of the quantum vacuum is vacuum birefringence. This offers an excellent opportunity for a precision test of nonlinear quantum electrodynamics in an uncharted parameter regime. Recently, the operation of the high-intensity laser ReLaX provided by the Helmholtz International Beamline for Extreme Fields (HIBEF) has been inaugurated at the High Energy Density (HED) scientific instrument of the European XFEL. We make the case that this worldwide unique combination of an x-ray free-electron laser and an ultra-intense near-infrared laser together with recent advances in high-precision x-ray polarimetry, refinements of prospective discovery scenarios, and progress in their accurate theoretical modelling have set the stage for performing an actual discovery experiment of quantum vacuum nonlinearity., Comment: 34 pages, 21 figures

Abstract: In this work we introduce partial and global actions of inverse categories on posets in two variants, fibred actions and actions by symmetries. We study in detail actions of an inverse category $\mathcal{C}$ on specific subposets of the poset of finite subsets of $\mathcal{C}$, the Bernoulli actions. We show that to each fibred action of an inverse category on a poset there corresponds another inverse category, the semidirect product associated to the action. The Bernoulli actions give rise to the Szendrei expansions of $\mathcal{C}$, which define a endofunctor of the category of inverse categories. We extend the concept of enlargement from inverse semigroup theory to, and we show that if $\mathcal{D}$ is an enlargement of $\mathcal{C}$ then their Cauchy completions are equivalent categories; in particular, some pairs corresponding to partial and global Bernoulli actions are enlargements. We conclude by studying convolution algebras of finite inverse categories and showing that if $\mathcal{D}$ is an enlargement of $\mathcal{C}$ then their convolution algebras are Morita equivalent. Furthermore, using Kan extensions we also analyze the infinite case.

Abstract: We discuss spherically symmetric dynamical systems in the framework of a general model of $f({\cal R})$ gravity, i.e. $f({\cal R})={\cal R}e^{\zeta {\cal R}}$, where $\zeta$ is a dimensional quantity in squared length units [L$^2$]. By employing astrophysical observations obtained from the pulsar {\textit SAX J1748.9-2021}, derived from bursting X-ray binaries located within globular clusters, we determine that $\zeta$ is approximately equal to $\pm 5$ km$^2$. In particular, the model can create a stable configuration for {\textit SAX J1748.9-2021}, encompassing its geometric and physical characteristics. In $f({\cal R})$ gravity, the Krori-Barua approach links $p_r$ and $p_t$, which represent the components of the pressures, to ($\rho$), representing the density, semi-analytically. These relations are described as $p_r\approx v_r^2 (\rho-\rho_{I})$ and $p_t\approx v_t^2 (\rho-\rho_{II})$. Here, the expression $v_r$ and $v_t$ represent the radial and tangential sound speeds, respectively. Meanwhile, $\rho_I$ pertains to the surface density and $\rho_{II}$ is derived using the parameters of the model. Notably, within the frame of $f({\cal R})$ gravity where $\zeta$ is negative, the maximum compactness, denoted as $C$, is inherently limited to values that do not exceed the Buchdahl limit. This contrasts with general relativity or with $f({\cal R})$ with positive $\zeta$, where $C$ has the potential to reach the limit of the black hole asymptotically. The predictions of such model suggest a central energy density which largely exceeds the saturation of nuclear density, which has the value $\rho_{\text{nuc}} = 3\times 10^{14}$ g/cm$^3$. Abstract: The first source catalog of Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory reported the detection of a very-high-energy gamma ray source, 1LHAASO J1219+2915. In this paper a further detailed study of the spectral and temporal behavior of this point-like source have been carried. The best-fit position of the TeV source ($\rm{RA}=185.05^{\circ}\pm0.04^{\circ}$, $\rm{Dec}=29.25^{\circ}\pm0.03^{\circ}$) is compatible with NGC 4278 within $\sim0.03$ degree. Variation analysis shows an indication of the variability at a few months level in the TeV band, which is consistent with low frequency observations. Based on these observations, we report the detection of TeV $\gamma$-ray emissions from this low-luminosity AGN NGC 4278. The observations by LHAASO-WCDA during active period has a significance level of 8.8\,$\sigma$ with best-fit photon spectral index $\varGamma=2.56\pm0.14$ and a flux $f_{1-10\,\rm{TeV}}=(7.0\pm1.1_{\rm{sta}}\pm0.35_{\rm{syst}})\times10^{-13}\,\rm{photons\,cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$, or approximately $5\%$ of the Crab Nebula. Abstract: The properties of nanoparticles are determined by their size and structure. When exposed to external pressure P, their structural properties can change. The improvement or degradation of the properties of the samples depending on time is particularly interesting. The knowledge of the influence of structural-size effect, aging time, and pressure on the behavior of the compounds is essential for fundamental and applied purposes.Therefore, the first attempts have been made to shed light on how the functional properties of the Mn-containing perovskites change depending on them. The nanoparticles of different sizes, from 20 to 70 nm, have been obtained. After 3 years, their structural properties underwent significant changes, including an increase in particle size, bandwidth, and microstrains, as well as a reduction in dislocation density.The greatest change in the structure is observed for the smallest nanoparticles. The phase transition temperatures increase with nanoparticle size, time, and pressure. The aging time has the strongest influence on the changing Curie temperature for the smallest and most magnetically inhomogeneous nanoparticles with dTc/dP = 100 K / GPa. Conversely, the structural-size effect and external pressure have the greatest influence on the biggest and most magnetically uniform nanoparticles with dTc/dP = 91 and 16 K / GPa, respectively. After 3 years, the biggest nanoparticles demonstrate the most stable phase transition temperatures with improved magnetocaloric parameters near room temperature. These structural-size effect, aging time, and pressure are powerful instruments to tune the phase transition temperatures and magnetocaloric effect of the nanoparticles. Abstract: The resistivity of two-dimensional (2D) metals generally exhibits insensitivity to electron-electron scattering. However, it's worth noting that Galilean invariance may not hold true in systems characterized by a spectrum containing multiple electronic branches or in scenarios involving electron-hole plasma. In the context of our study, we focus on 2D electrons confined within a triple quantum well (TQW) based on HgTe. This system displays a coexistence of energy bands featuring both linear and parabolic-like spectra at low energy and, therefore, lacks the Galilean invariance. This research employs a combined theoretical and experimental approach to investigate the transport properties of this two-component system across various regimes. By manipulating carrier density and temperature, we tune our system from a fully degenerate regime, where resistance follows a temperature-dependent behavior proportional to $T^2$, to a regime where both types of electrons adhere to Boltzmann statistics. In the non-degenerate regime, electron interactions lead to resistance that is weakly dependent on temperature. Notably, our experimental observations closely align with the theoretical predictions derived in this study. Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the gravitational collapse to form the black hole in the acceleratingly expanding universe in the frame of Einstein--Gauss-Bonnet theory having two scalar fields and we study the propagation of the gravitational wave (GW). This may describe the creation of the primordial black holes in the early stages of the universe and the impact of their creation on the propagation of primordial gravitational waves. The collapsing spacetime can be obtained by using the formulation of the ``reconstruction'', that is, we find a model that realises the desired or given geometry. In the reconstructed models, ghosts often appear, which could be eliminated by imposing constraints. We show that the standard cosmological solutions or self-gravitating objects such as a planet, the Sun, various types of stars, etc., in Einstein's gravity, are also solutions in this model. Using the dynamical value of the Gauss-Bonnet coupling, the propagation of the high-frequency GW is investigated. The propagating speed changes due to the coupling during the period of the black hole formation. 38. Multiline observations of hydrogen, helium, and carbon radio-recombination lines toward Orion A: A detailed dynamical study and direct determination of physical conditions

Abstract: We present a study of hydrogen, helium, and carbon millimeter-wave radio-recombination lines (RRLs) toward ten representative positions throughout the Orion Nebula complex, using the Yebes 40m telescope in the Q band (31.3 GHz to 50.6 GHz) at an angular resolution of about $45\arcsec$ ($\sim$0.09\,pc). The observed positions include the Orion Nebula (M42) with the Orion Molecular Core 1, M43, and the Orion Molecular Core 3 bordering on NGC 1973, 1975, and 1977. While hydrogen and helium RRLs arise in the ionized gas surrounding the massive stars in the Orion Nebula complex, carbon RRLs stem from the neutral gas of the adjacent photo-dissociation regions (PDRs). The high velocity resolution ($0.3\,\mathrm{km\,s^{-1}}$) enables us to discern the detailed dynamics of the RRL emitting neutral and ionized gas. We compare the carbon RRLs with SOFIA/upGREAT observations of the [CII] $158\,\mu\mathrm{m}$ line and IRAM 30m observations of the $^{13}$CO (J=2-1) line. Using the [CII] and [$^{13}$CII] intensities with the carbon RRL intensities, we can infer physical conditions (electron temperature and electron density) in the PDR gas using non-LTE excitation models. Our observations are sensitive enough to detect faint lines toward two positions in OMC1, that may be attributed to RRLs of C$^+$ or O$^+$. In general, the RRL line widths of both the ionized and neutral gas, as well as the [CII] and $^{13}$CO line widths, are broader than thermal, indicating significant turbulence in the interstellar medium, which transitions from super-Alfv\'enic and subsonic in the ionized gas to sub-Alfv\'enic and supersonic in the molecular gas. At the scales probed by our observations, the turbulent pressure dominates the pressure balance in the neutral and molecular gas, while in the ionized gas the turbulent pressure is much smaller than the thermal pressure.

39. Extension of Hayward black hole in $f(R)$ gravity coupled with a scalar field

Abstract: This study looks into regular solutions in a theory of gravity called $f(R)$ gravity, which also involves a scalar field. The $f(R)$ theory changes Einstein's ideas by adding a new function related to something called the Ricci scalar. This lets us tweak the equations that describe how gravity works. Adding a scalar field makes the theory more interesting, giving us more ways to investigate and understand it. { The main goal of this research is to create regular black holes using a combination of $f(R)$ gravitational theory and a scalar field.} Regular solutions don't have any singularities, which are points where certain physical quantities, like invariants, become really big or undefined. { In this context, we find two regular black hole solutions by using a spherical space with either an equal or unequal approach.} For the solutions where we use the equal approach, we figure out the shape of $f(R)$ and how it changes, along with its first and second derivatives. We demonstrate that Hayward's solution in this theory stays steady because all the shapes of $f(R)$ and their first and second derivatives are positive. Next, we focus on the case where the metric isn't equal and figure out the black hole solution. We also find out what $f(R)$ and the scalar field look like in this situation. We demonstrate that the solution in this case is a broader version of the Hayward solution. When certain conditions are met, we end up back at the scenario where the metrics are equal. We also prove that this model is stable because $f(R)$, along with its first and second derivatives, are all positive. { We analyze the trajectories of these black hole solutions and determine the forms of their conserved quantities that remain same along those trajectories., Comment: 23 pages, four figures

41. Tunneling magnetoresistance in MgO tunnel junctions with Fe-based leads in empirically corrected density functional theory

Abstract: The minority-spin Fe/MgO interface states are at the Fermi level in density functional theory (DFT), but experimental evidence and GW calculations place them slightly higher in energy. This small shift can strongly influence tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) in junctions with a thin MgO barrier and its dependence on the concentration of Co in the electrodes. Here, an empirical potential correction to DFT is introduced to shift the interface states up to match the tunnel spectroscopy data. With this shift, TMR in Fe/MgO/Fe junctions exceeds 800% and 3000% at 3 and 4 monolayers (ML) of MgO, respectively. We further consider the effect of alloying of the Fe electrodes with up to 30% Co or 10% V, treating them in the coherent potential approximation (CPA). Alloying with Co broadens the interface states and brings a large incoherent minority-spin spectral weight to the Fermi level. Alloying with V brings the minority-spin resonant states close to the Fermi level. However, in both cases the minority-spin spectral weight at the Fermi level resides primarily at the periphery of the Brillouin zone, which is favorable for spin filtering. Using convolutions of $\mathbf{k}_\parallel$-resolved barrier densities of states calculated in CPA, it is found that TMR is strongly reduced by alloying with Co or V but still remains above 500% at 4 ML of MgO up to 30% of Co or 5% V. At 5 ML, the TMR increases above 1000% in all systems considered. On the other hand, while TMR declines sharply with increasing bias up to 0.2 eV in the MTJ with pure Fe leads, it remains almost constant up to 0.5 eV if leads are alloyed with Co., Comment: 10 pages, 14 figures

42. Field-induced Peierls phase in $S=1$ Heisenberg spins coupled to quantum phonons

Abstract: Spin-Peierls transition occurs in a one-dimensional $S=1$ Heisenberg antiferromagnetic model with single-ion anisotropy, coupled to finite frequency bond phonons, in a magnetic field. Our results indicate that for the pure Heisenberg model, any Peierls transition is suppressed by quantum fluctuations of the phonon field. However, a novel magnetic field-induced Spin-Peierls phase is realized in the presence of strong single-ion anisotropy. Contrary to the standard Peierls state, the periodicity of bond strength modulation in this field-induced Spin-Peierls state is variable and depends on the strength of the applied field. The nature of the ground state in this new phase and the associated field-driven transitions to and out of this phase are explored using extensive numerical simulations. In particular, we explore the spin and bond correlations and the evolution of bond order modulation with varying magnetic field.

43. Energetic bounds on gyrokinetic instabilities. Part 4. Bounce-averaged electrons

Abstract: Upper bounds on the growth of instabilities in gyrokinetic systems have recently been derived by considering the optimal perturbations that maximise the growth of a chosen energy norm. This technique has previously been applied to two-species gyrokinetic systems with fully kinetic ions and electrons. However, in tokamaks and stellarators, the expectation from linear instability analyses is that the most important kinetic-electron contribution to ion-scale modes comes from the trapped electrons, which bounce faster than the timescale upon which instabilities evolve. As a result, a fully-kinetic electron response is not required to describe unstable modes in most cases. Here, we apply the optimal mode analysis to a reduced two-species system that consists of fully gyrokinetic ions and bounce-averaged electrons with the aim of finding a tighter bound on ion-scale instabilities in toroidal geometry. This analysis yields bounds that are greatly reduced in comparison to the earlier two-species result. Moreover, if the energy norm is properly chosen, wave-particle resonance effects can be captured, reproducing the stabilisation of density-gradient-driven instabilities in maximum-$J$ devices. The optimal mode analysis also reveals that the maximum-$J$ property has an additional stabilising effect on ion-temperature-gradient-driven instabilities, even in the absence of an electron-free energy source. This effect is explained in terms of the concept of mode inertia, making it distinct from other mechanisms.

Abstract: KM2A is one of the main sub-arrays of LHAASO, working on gamma ray astronomy and cosmic ray physics at energies above 10 TeV. Detector simulation is the important foundation for estimating detector performance and data analysis. It is a big challenge to simulate the KM2A detector in the framework of Geant4 due to the need to track numerous photons from a large number of detector units (>6000) with large altitude difference (30 m) and huge coverage (1.3 km^2). In this paper, the design of the KM2A simulation code G4KM2A based on Geant4 is introduced. The process of G4KM2A is optimized mainly in memory consumption to avoid memory overffow. Some simpliffcations are used to signiffcantly speed up the execution of G4KM2A. The running time is reduced by at least 30 times compared to full detector simulation. The particle distributions and the core/angle resolution comparison between simulation and experimental data of the full KM2A array are also presented, which show good agreement.

Abstract: We report the observation of a coalescing compact binary with component masses $2.5\text{-}4.5~M_\odot$ and $1.2\text{-}2.0~M_\odot$ (all measurements quoted at the 90% credible level). The gravitational-wave signal GW230529_181500 was observed during the fourth observing run of the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA detector network on 2023 May 29 by the LIGO Livingston Observatory. The primary component of the source has a mass less than $5~M_\odot$ at 99% credibility. We cannot definitively determine from gravitational-wave data alone whether either component of the source is a neutron star or a black hole. However, given existing estimates of the maximum neutron star mass, we find the most probable interpretation of the source to be the coalescence of a neutron star with a black hole that has a mass between the most massive neutron stars and the least massive black holes observed in the Galaxy. We provisionally estimate a merger rate density of $55^{+127}_{-47}~\text{Gpc}^{-3}\,\text{yr}^{-1}$ for compact binary coalescences with properties similar to the source of GW230529_181500; assuming that the source is a neutron star-black hole merger, GW230529_181500-like sources constitute about 60% of the total merger rate inferred for neutron star-black hole coalescences. The discovery of this system implies an increase in the expected rate of neutron star-black hole mergers with electromagnetic counterparts and provides further evidence for compact objects existing within the purported lower mass gap., Comment: 45 pages (10 pages author list, 13 pages main text, 1 page acknowledgements, 13 pages appendices, 8 pages bibliography), 17 figures, 16 tables. Abstract: Mid-infrared emission features probe the properties of ionized gas, and hot or warm molecular gas. The Orion Bar is a frequently studied photodissociation region (PDR) containing large amounts of gas under these conditions, and was observed with the MIRI IFU aboard JWST as part of the "PDRs4All" program. The resulting IR spectroscopic images of high angular resolution (0.2") reveal a rich observational inventory of mid-IR emission lines, and spatially resolve the substructure of the PDR, with a mosaic cutting perpendicularly across the ionization front and three dissociation fronts. We extracted five spectra that represent the ionized, atomic, and molecular gas layers, and measured the most prominent gas emission lines. An initial analysis summarizes the physical conditions of the gas and the potential of these data. We identified around 100 lines, report an additional 18 lines that remain unidentified, and measured the line intensities and central wavelengths. The H I recombination lines originating from the ionized gas layer bordering the PDR, have intensity ratios that are well matched by emissivity coefficients from H recombination theory, but deviate up to 10% due contamination by He I lines. We report the observed emission lines of various ionization stages of Ne, P, S, Cl, Ar, Fe, and Ni, and show how certain line ratios vary between the five regions. We observe the pure-rotational H$_2$ lines in the vibrational ground state from 0-0 S(1) to 0-0 S(8), and in the first vibrationally excited state from 1-1 S(5) to 1-1 S(9). We derive H$_2$ excitation diagrams, and approximate the excitation with one thermal (~700 K) component representative of an average gas temperature, and one non-thermal component (~2700 K) probing the effect of UV pumping. We compare these results to an existing model for the Orion Bar PDR and highlight the differences with the observations., Comment: 26 pages, 12 figures, 3 tables. 47. Magnetic, charge, and bond order in the two-dimensional Su-Schrieffer-Heeger-Holstein model

Abstract: Most nonperturbative numerical studies of electron-phonon interactions focus on model Hamiltonians where the electrons interact with a phonon branch via a single type of microscopic mechanism. Two commonly explored couplings in this context are the Holstein and Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) interactions, which describe phonons modulating the on-site energy and intersite electron hopping, respectively. Many materials, however, have multiple phonon branches that can each interact with electronic degrees of freedom in different ways. We present here a determinant quantum Monte Carlo study of the half-filled two-dimensional (bond) SSH-Holstein Hamiltonian, where electrons couple to different phonon branches via either the Holstein or SSH mechanism. We map the model's phase diagram and determine the nature of the transitions between charge-density wave, bond order wave, and antiferromagnetic order.

Abstract: We present the measurements of all-particle energy spectrum and mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays in the energy range of 0.3-30 PeV using data collected from LHAASO-KM2A between September 2021 and December 2022, which is based on a nearly composition-independent energy reconstruction method, achieving unprecedented accuracy. Our analysis reveals the position of the knee at $3.67 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.15$ PeV. Below the knee, the spectral index is found to be -$2.7413 \pm 0.0004 \pm 0.0050$, while above the knee, it is -$3.128 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.027$, with the sharpness of the transition measured with a statistical error of 2%. The mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays is almost heavier than helium in the whole measured energy range. It decreases from 1.7 at 0.3 PeV to 1.3 at 3 PeV, representing a 24% decline following a power law with an index of -$0.1200 \pm 0.0003 \pm 0.0341$. This is equivalent to an increase in abundance of light components. Above the knee, the mean logarithmic mass exhibits a power law trend towards heavier components, which is reversal to the behavior observed in the all-particle energy spectrum. Additionally, the knee position and the change in power-law index are approximately the same. These findings suggest that the knee observed in the all-particle spectrum corresponds to the knee of the light component, rather than the medium-heavy components., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: We consider error correction, based on the theory of non-commutative graphs, for a model of a qubit interacting with quantum oscillator. The dynamics of the composite system is governed by the Schr\"odinger equation which generates positive operator-valued measure (POVM) for the system dynamics. We construct a quantum channel generating the non-commutative graph as a linear envelope of the POVM. The idea is based on applying a generalized version of a quantum channel using the apparatus of von Neumann algebras. The results are analyzes for a non-commutative graph generated by a qubit interacting with quantum oscillator. 50. Pressure-enhanced $f$-electron orbital weighting in UTe2 mapped by quantum interferometry

Abstract: The phase landscape of UTe$_2$ features a remarkable diversity of superconducting phases under applied pressure and magnetic field. Recent quantum oscillation studies at ambient pressure have revealed the quasi-2D Fermi surface of this material. However, the pressure-dependence of the Fermi surface remains an open question. Here we track the evolution of the UTe$_2$ Fermi surface as a function of pressure up to 19.5 kbar by measuring quantum interference oscillations. We find that in sufficient magnetic field to suppress both superconductivity at low pressures and incommensurate antiferromagnetism at higher pressures, the quasi-2D Fermi surface found at ambient pressure smoothly connects to that at 19.5 kbar, with no signs of a reconstruction over this pressure interval. The warping of the cylindrical Fermi sheets continuously increases with pressure, which is consistent with increased $f$-orbital contribution at the Fermi level, up to and beyond the critical pressure at which superconductivity is truncated. These findings highlight the value of high pressure quantum interference measurements as a new probe of the electronic structure in heavy fermion materials.
