In this work, we obtain uncharged\charged Kiselev-like black holes as a new class of black hole solutions surrounded by perfect fluid in the context of Rastall theory. Then, we study the specific cases of the uncharged\charged black holes surrounded by regular matter like dust and radiation, or exotic matter like quintessence, cosmological constant and phantom fields. By comparing the Kiselev-like black hole solutions in Rastall theory with the Kiselev black hole solutions in GR, we find an effective perfect fluid behaviour for the black hole's surrounding field. It is shown that the corresponding effective perfect fluid has interesting characteristic features depending on the different ranges of the parameters in Rastall theory. For instance, Kiselev-like black holes surrounded by regular matter in Rastall theory may be considered as Kiselev black holes surrounded by exotic matter in GR, or Kiselev-like black holes surrounded by exotic matter in Rastall theory may be considered as Kiselev black holes surrounded by regular matter in GR., Comment: 15 Paes, 6 Tables

Since Parikh and Wilczek proposed a semiclassical tunneling method to investigate the Hawking radiation of static and spherically symmetric black holes, the method has been extensively developed to study various black holes. However, in almost all of the subsequent papers, there exists a important shortcoming that the geodesic equation of the massive particle is defined inconsistently with that of the massless particle. In this paper, we propose a new idea to reinvestigate the tunneling radiation from the event horizon of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole. In our treatment, by starting from the Lagrangian analysis on the action, we redefine the geodesic equation of the massive and massless particle via tunneling from the event horizon of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, which overcomes the shortcoming mentioned above. The highlight of our work is a new and important development for the Parikh-Wilczek’s semiclassical tunneling method.

The Schwarzschild singularity's resolution has key values in cracking the key mysteries related with black holes, the origin of their horizon entropy and the information missing puzzle involved in their evaporations. We provide in this work the general dynamic inner metric of collapsing stars with horizons and with non-trivial radial mass distributions. We find that static central singularities are not the final state of the system. Instead, the final state of the system is a periodically zero-cross breathing ball. Through 3+1 decomposed general relativity and its quantum formulation, we establish a functional Schr\"odinger equation controlling the micro-state of this breathing ball and show that, the system configuration with all the matter concentrating on the central point is not the unique eigen-energy-density solution. Using a Bohr-Sommerfield like "orbital" quantisation assumption, we show that for each black hole of horizon radius $r_h$, there are about $e^{r_h^2/\ell^2_\mathrm{pl}}$ allowable eigen-energy-density profile. After 50 years of observational studies of black holes, great progress has been achieved in this branch of astrophysics. Several dozen stellar-mass black holes have been discovered in X-ray binaries, and several hundred supermassive black holes in galactic nuclei. The remarkable recent discovery of gravitational waves from merging black holes in a binary system by LIGO marks the beginning of a new stage in black-hole research. It is quite possible that gravitational-wave studies will provide definitive evidence for the existence of event horizons in black holes in the near future. On the other hand, the development of methods for space and ground-based radio-interferometry observations provides hope that it will be possible to obtain images of “shadows” of supermassive black holes in galactic nuclei, and to observe directly processes occurring in the vicinities of the event horizons of supermassive black holes. This is important for tests of general relativity in extremely strong gravitational fields.

Using the Damour-Ruffini method, Hawking radiation of charged particles from squashed charged rotating five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein black holes is investigated extensively. Under the generalized tortoise coordinate transformation, Hawking temperature of the black holes is calculated by using charged scalar particles and Dirac fermions respectively. We find that the obtained Hawking temperature for charged Dirac fermions is the same as for charged scalar particles. What’s more, the spectrum of Hawking radiation contains the information of the size of the extra dimension, which could provide insight for further investigation of large extra dimensions in the future.

We systematically study all supersymmetric solutions of six-dimensional (2,0) supergravity with a null isometry. In particular, every such solution with at least four real supersymmetries is also a supersymmetric solution of a (1,0) theory preserving the same absolute amount of supersymmetry. This implies that no genuinely new solutions of this type can be found in this framework. The microstate geometries associated to supersymmetric black holes within Mathur's proposal are generically supersymmetric solutions of six-dimensional supergravity. In 1981 Unruh proposed that fluid mechanical experiments could be used to probe key aspects of the quantum phenomenology of black holes. In particular, he claimed that an analogue to Hawking radiation could be created within a fluid mechanical `dumb hole', with the event horizon replaced by a sonic horizon. Since then an entire sub-field of `analogue gravity' has been created. In 2016 Steinhauer reported the experimental observation of quantum Hawking radiation and its entanglement in a Bose-Einstein condensate analogue black hole. What can we learn from such analogue experiments? In particular, in what sense can they provide evidence of novel phenomena such as black hole Hawking radiation?

With the discovery of gravitational waves, a new space information channel has become available to scientists, and a new field of science, nonlinear dynamics of curved space–time (geometrodynamics for short) has been given an observational foundation. The observation of gravitational waves is especially interesting for understanding the nature of black holes. The observation of the ring-down stage of a binary black hole merger can provide a profound opportunity to obtain proof of the presence of an event horizon for a newly formed black hole. The discovery of gravitational waves opens up new possibilities for the massive discovery and investigation of new black holes in highly evolved binaries.

We present evidence for the existence of a quantum lower bound on the Bekenstein-Hawking temperature of black holes. The suggested bound is supported by a gedanken experiment in which a charged particle is dropped into a Kerr black hole. It is proved that the temperature of the final Kerr-Newman black-hole configuration is bounded from below by the relation $T_{\text{BH}}\times r_{\text{H}}>(\hbar/r_{\text{H}})^2$, where $r_{\text{H}}$ is the horizon radius of the black hole., 7 pages

It has recently been shown that the Hawking evaporation process of $(3+1)$-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes is characterized by the dimensionless ratio $\eta\equiv\tau_{\text{gap}}/\tau_{\text{emission}}\gg1$, where $\tau_{\text{gap}}$ is the characteristic time gap between the emissions of successive Hawking quanta and $\tau_{\text{emission}}$ is the characteristic timescale required for an individual Hawking quantum to be emitted from the Schwarzschild black hole. This strong inequality implies that the Hawking cascade of gravitons from a $(3+1)$-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole is extremely {\it sparse}. In the present paper we explore the semi-classical Hawking evaporation rates of {\it higher}-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes. We find that the dimensionless ratio $\eta(D)\equiv{{\tau_{\text{gap}}}/{\tau_{\text{emission}}}}$, which characterizes the Hawking emission of gravitons from the $(D+1)$-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes, is a {\it decreasing} function of the spacetime dimension. Where does Hawking radiation originate? A common picture is that it arises from excitations very near or at the horizon, and this viewpoint has supported the "firewall" argument and arguments for a key role for the UV-dependent entanglement entropy in describing the quantum mechanics of black holes. However, closer investigation of both the total emission rate and the stress tensor of Hawking radiation supports the statement that its source is a near-horizon quantum region, or "atmosphere," whose radial extent is set by the horizon radius scale. This is potentially important, since Hawking radiation needs to be modified to restore unitarity, and a natural assumption is that the scales relevant to such modifications are comparable to those governing the Hawking radiation. In this paper, we study the thermodynamics of the Schwarzschild and the Reissner–Nordström black holes surrounded by quintessence. By using the thermodynamical laws of the black holes, we derive the thermodynamic properties of these black holes and we compare the results with each other. We investigate the mass, temperature and heat capacity as functions of entropy for these black holes. We also discuss the equation of state of the Schwarzschild and the Reissner–Nordström black holes surrounded by quintessence.

In completely local settings, we establish that a dynamically evolving spherically symmetric black hole horizon can be assigned a Hawking temperature and with the emission of flux, radius of the horizon shrinks.

I propose first a simple model for quantum black holes based on a harmonic oscillator representing the black hole horizon covered by Planck length sized squares carrying soft hair. Secondly, I redefine the partition function sum over horizon squares by a sum over black hole stretched horizon constituents which are black holes themselves. From this partition function Hawking radiation and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy law have been predicted. Based on this model I propose that the structures of black holes and spacetime atoms are the same. Requiring consistent quantization for both spacetime and matter, black hole structure is considered for matter particles using a composite model for quarks and leptons.

The need for a consistent quantum evolution for black holes has led to proposals that their semiclassical description is modified not just near the singularity, but at horizon or larger scales. If such modifications extend beyond the horizon, they influence regions accessible to distant observeration. Natural candidates for these modifications behave like metric fluctuations, with characteristic length and time scales set by the horizon radius. We investigate the possibility of using the Event Horizon Telescope to observe these effects, if they have a strength sufficient to make quantum evolution consistent with unitarity. We find that such quantum fluctuations can introduce a strong time dependence for the shape and size of the shadow that a black hole casts on its surrounding emission. For the black hole in the center of the Milky Way, detecting the rapid time variability of its shadow will require non-imaging timing techniques. However, for the much larger black hole in the center of the M87 galaxy, a variable black-hole shadow, if present with these parameters, would be readily observable in the individual snapshots that will be obtained by the Event Horizon Telescope., Comment: To appear in Phys. There appears to be a duality between elementary particles, which span the mass range below the Planck scale, and black holes, which span the mass range range above it. In particular, the Black Hole Uncertainty Principle correspondence posits a smooth transition between the Compton and Schwarzschild scales as a function of mass. This suggests that all black holes are in some sense quantum, that elementary particles can be interpreted as sub-Planckian black holes, and that there is a subtle connection between quantum and classical physics.

By using dimensional reduction and consistent anomaly method, we calculate the Hawking flux of the spin- 3/2 field in the Kerr black hole background. The results confirm that the Hawking radiation doesn’t depends on the detail of the fields living near the horizon, at least at the semi-classical level. The Hawking temperature is an universality character of black hole which only depends on the information of the horizon. Our calculation agrees with earlier results obtained by the WKB/tunneling method (Yale and Mann, Phys. Lett. B 673(2), 168–172, 2009).

It appears that having our own brane somehow interact with other branes would give rise to quite an interesting system and that interaction could lead to formation of a horizon in extra dimensions. We consider the question, whether or not, the signature of this appeared horizon can be observed near Ads black holes at Large Hadron Collider (LHC). To this end , we find the information loss for QCD matter in interaction potential between different branes near mini black holes at LHC by extending the Gottesman and Preskill method to higher dimensional Ads black holes and calculate the information transformation from the collapsing matter to the state of outgoing Hawking radiation for quarks and gluons. We notice that for all finite values of quark and gluon energies, all information from all emission processes experiences some degree of loss in appeared horizon.

Living in a middle ground between the light fundamental entities of particle physics and the massive black holes of astrophysics are objects that trap light but don’t obey classical rules.

A black hole is essentially a relativistic as well as a quantum object. Therefore the information paradox of black holes is a consequence of the clash between these two most fundamental theories of modern physics. It is logical to conclude that a resolution of the problem requires some form of a quantum gravity theory. The present work proposes such a resolution using set theory and pointless spacetime geometry.

The phenomenological model proposed in this note indicates that the black hole radiation consists of two components: the standard thermal Hawking radiation and an additional non-thermal baryonic/leptonic component due to quantum number neutralization by the no-hair theorem. The particle radiation grows relatively stronger than the Hawking radiation with increasing black hole mass, and it can be tested in principle.

Black Holes absorb matter and because matter has structure in space and time, Black Holes absorb the grid points of space and time. It is this property that creates a void for the remaining visible space-time to expand into. This expansion is roughly proportional to the density of the black holes in space and this, because also time is expanding, leads to an apparent exponential expansion for the observer, who is unaware of this. Further the Quantum Mechanical effects: the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and the Tunnelling of particles lead to a flow of matter from the present time into the past. The red-shift is thus not just a sign of an expanding universe but also (and perhaps all of it) that of matter hurling down into the black holes.

We introduce three approaches to generate curvature invariants that transform covariantly under a conformal transformation of a four dimensional spacetime. For any black hole conformally related to a stationary black hole, we show how a set of conformally covariant invariants can be combined to produce a conformally covariant invariant that detects the event horizon of the conformally related black hole. As an application we consider the rotating dynamical black holes conformally related to the Kerr-NUT-(Anti)-de Sitter spacetimes and construct an invariant that detects the conformal Killing horizon along with a second invariant that detects the conformal stationary limit surface. In addition, we present necessary conditions for a dynamical black hole to be conformally related to a stationary black hole and apply these conditions to the ingoing Kerr-Vaidya and Vaidya black hole solutions to determine if they are conformally related to stationary black holes for particular choices of the mass function. While two of the three approaches cannot be generalized to higher dimensions, we discuss the existence of a conformally covariant invariant that will detect the event horizon for any higher dimensional black hole conformally related to a stationary black hole which admits at least two conformally covariant invariants, including all vacuum spacetimes., Comment: 9 pages

Hawking radiation is generally derived using a non-interacting field theory. Some time ago, Leahy and Unruh showed that, in two dimensions with a Schwarzschild geometry, a scalar field theory with a quartic interaction gets the coupling switched off near the horizon of the black hole. This would imply that interaction has no effect on Hawking radiation and free theory for particles can be used. Recently, a set of exact classical solutions for the quartic scalar field theory has been obtained. These solutions display a massive dispersion relation even if the starting theory is massless. When one considers the corresponding quantum field theory, this mass gap becomes a tower of massive excitations and, at the leading order, the theory is trivial. We apply these results to Hawking radiation for a Kerr geometry and prove that the Leahy-Unruh effect is at work. Approaching the horizon the scalar field theory has the mass gap going to zero. We devise a technique to study the interacting scalar theory very near the horizon increasing the coupling. As these solutions are represented by a Fourier series of plane waves, Hawking radiation can be immediately obtained with well-known techniques. These results open a question about the behavior of the Standard Model of particles very near the horizon of a black hole where the interactions turn out to be switched off and the electroweak symmetry could be restored., Comment: 12 pages, 1 figure. We provide the first explicit proposal for all microstates of generic black holes in three dimensions (of Ba\~nados-Teitelboim-Zanelli type): black hole microstates, termed ``horizon fluff,'' are a particular class of near horizon soft hairs which have zero energy as measured by the horizon observer and cannot be distinguished by observers at a finite distance from the horizon. These states are arranged in orbits of the two-dimensional conformal algebra associated with the asymptotic black hole geometry. We count these microstates using the Hardy-Ramanujan formula for the number of partitions of a given integer into non-negative integers, recovering the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. We discuss possible extensions of our black hole microstate construction to astrophysical Kerr-type black holes.

We derive the Hawking radiation power equations for black holes in asymptotically flat, asymptotically Anti-de Sitter (AdS) and asymptotically de Sitter (dS) black holes, This is done by using the greybody factor for these black holes. We observe that the radiation power equation for asymptotically flat black holes, corresponding to greybody factor at low frequency, depends on both the Hawking temperature and the horizon radius. However, for the greybody factors at asymptotic frequency, it only depends on the Hawking temperature. We also obtain the power equation for asymptotically AdS black holes both below and above the critical frequency. The radiation power equation for at asymptotic frequency is same for both Schwarzschild AdS and Reissner-Nordstr\"om AdS solutions and only depends on the Hawking temperature. In this paper, the linearly charged three-dimensional Einstein's theory coupled to a dilatonic field has been considered. It has been shown that the dilatonic potential must be considered in a form of generalized Liouville-type potential. Two new classes of charged dilatonic black hole solutions, as the exact solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton (EMd) gravity, have been obtained and their properties have been studied. The conserved charge and mass related to both of the new EMd black holes have been calculated. Through comparison of the thermodynamical extensive quantities (i.e., temperature and entropy) obtained from both, the geometrical and the thermodynamical methods, the validity of first law of black hole thermodynamics has been investigated for both of the new black holes we just obtained. At the final stage, making use of the canonical ensemble method and regarding the black hole heat capacity, the thermal stability or phase transition of the new black hole solutions have been analyzed. It has been shown that there is a specific range for the horizon radius in such a way that the black holes with the horizon radius in that range are locally stable. Otherwise, they are unstable and may undergo type one or type two phase transitions to be stabilized.

In this study, we investigate the Hawking radiation from three-dimensional New-type black hole and Warped-AdS3 black hole by using the quantum tunnelling properties of a massive spin-1 particle, i.e. a massive vector boson. Using the Hamilton-Jacobi method, we calculate the tunnelling probabilities and the Hawking temperature of the escaping massive spin-1 vector particle from the black holes. From these results, we see that the massive vector boson tunnels the same as a scalar and a Dirac particle from these black holes.

In [1] the horizon fluffs proposal is put forward to identify microstates of generic nonextremal three-dimensional Ba\~nados--Teitelboim--Zanelli (BTZ) black holes. The proposal is that black hole microstates, the horizon fluffs, are certain near horizon soft hairs which are not in the coadjoint orbits of the asymptotic Virasoro algebra associated with the BTZ black holes. It is also known that ${\mathrm{AdS}}_{3}$ Einstein gravity has more general black hole solutions than the BTZ family which are generically described by two periodic, but otherwise arbitrary, holomorphic and antiholomorphic functions. We show that these general ${\mathrm{AdS}}_{3}$ black holes which are typically conformal descendants of the BTZ black holes and are characterized by the associated Virasoro coadjoint orbits, appear as coherent states in the asymptotic symmetry algebra corresponding to the black hole family. We apply the horizon fluffs proposal to these generic ${\mathrm{AdS}}_{3}$ black holes and identify the corresponding microstates. We then perform microstate counting and compute the entropy. The entropy appears to be an orbit invariant quantity, providing an important check for the horizon fluffs proposal.

Recently researchers (A. Sepehri et al., Astrophys. Space Sci. 344, 79 (2013)) have considered the signature of superstring balls near mini black holes at LHC and calculate the information loss for these types of strings. Motivated by their work, we consider the evolution of events in high energy experiments from lower energies for which the Rindler horizon is formed to higher energies in which mini black holes and string balls are emerged. Extending the Gottesman and Preskill method to string theory, we find the information loss for excited strings “string balls” in mini black holes at LHC and calculate the information transformation from the collapsing matter to the state of outgoing Hawking radiation for strings. We come to the conclusion that information transformation for high energy strings is complete. Then the thermal distribution of excited strings near mini black holes at LHC is calculated. In order to obtain the total string cross section near black holes produced in proton-proton collision, we multiply the black hole production cross section by the thermal distribution of strings. It is observed that many high energy excited strings are produced near the event horizon of TeV black holes. These excited strings evaporate to standard model particles like Higgs boson and top quark at Hagedorn temperature. We derive the production cross section for these particles due to string ball decay at LHC and consider their decay to light particles like bottom quarks and gluons.

The question of whether Hawking evaporation violates unitarity, and therefore results in the loss of information, remains unresolved since Hawking's seminal discovery. So far the investigations remain mostly theoretical since it is almost impossible to settle this paradox through direct astrophysical black hole observations. Here we point out that relativistic plasma mirrors can be accelerated drastically and stopped abruptly by impinging ultra intense x-ray pulses on solid plasma targets with a density gradient. This is analogous to the late time evolution of black hole Hawking evaporation. A conception of such an experiment is proposed and a self-consistent set of physical parameters is presented. Ever since the discovery of black hole evaporation, the region of origin of the radiated quanta has been a topic of debate. Recently it was argued by Giddings that the Hawking quanta originate from a region well outside the black hole horizon by calculating the effective radius of a radiating body via the Stefan--Boltzmann law. In this paper we try to further explore this issue and end up corroborating this claim, using both a heuristic argument and a detailed study of the stress energy tensor. We show that the Hawking quanta originate from what might be called a quantum atmosphere around the black hole with energy density and fluxes of particles peaked at about $4M$, running contrary to the popular belief that these originate from the ultra high energy excitations very close to the horizon. Motivated by low energy effective action of string theory and large applications of BTZ black holes, we will consider minimal coupling between dilaton and nonlinear electromagnetic fields in three dimensions. The main goal is studying thermodynamical structure of black holes in this set up. Temperature and heat capacity of these black holes are investigated and a picture regarding their phase transitions is given. In addition, the role and importance of studying the mass of black holes is highlighted. We will see how different parameters modify thermodynamical quantities, hence thermodynamical structure of these black holes. In addition, geometrical thermodynamics is used to investigate thermodynamical properties of these black holes. We review (anti)evaporation phenomena within the context of quantum gravity and extended theories of gravity. The (anti)evaporation effect is an instability of the black hole horizon discovered in many different scenarios: quantum dilaton-gravity, $f(R)$-gravity, $f(T)$-gravity, string inspired black holes and brane-world cosmology. Evaporating and antievaporating black holes seem to have completely different thermodynamical features compared to standard semiclassical black holes. It has been proposed that a black hole horizon should generate Hawking radiation. In order to test this theory, we have created a narrow, low density, very low temperature atomic Bose-Einstein condensate, containing an analog black hole horizon and an inner horizon, as in a charged black hole. We observe Hawking radiation emitted by the black hole. This is the output of the black hole laser. We also observe the exponential growth of a standing wave between the horizons. The latter results from interference between the negative energy partners of the Hawking radiation and the negative energy particles reflected from the inner horizon. Article history: In this Letter, we analytically explore the effect of the Hawking radiation on the quantum correlation and Bell non-locality for Dirac particles in the background of Schwarzschild black hole. It is shown that when the Hawking effect is almost nonexistent, corresponding to the case of an almost extreme black hole, the quantum properties of physically accessible state are the same for the initial situation. For finite Hawk- ing temperature T , the accessible quantum correlation monotonously decreases along with increasing T owing to the thermal fields generated by the Hawking effect, and the accessible quantum non-locality will be disappeared when the Hawking temperature is more than a fixed value which increases with the parameter r of Werner state growing. Then we analyze the redistribution of quantum correlation, and find that for the case of the Hawking temperature being infinite, corresponding to the case of the black hole evaporating completely, the quantum correlation of physically accessible state is equal to the one of the inaccessible states. Moreover, due to the Pauli exclusion principle and the differences between Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics, for the Dirac fields the accessible classical correlation decreases with increase of the Hawking temperature, which is different for the scalar fields. For Bell non-locality, we also find that the quantum non-locality is always extinct for physically inaccessible states, and the strength of the non-locality decreases with enlarging intensity of Hawking effect when the non-locality is existent in physically accessible state. © 2014 The Authors. In four space-time dimensions black holes of Einstein-Maxwell theory satisfy a number of theorems. In more than four space-time dimensions, however, some of the properties of black holes can change. In particular, uniqueness of black holes no longer holds. In five and more dimensions black rings arise. Thus in a certain region of the phase diagram there are three black objects with the same global charges present. Here we discuss properties of higher-dimensional vacuum and charged black holes, which possess a spherical horizon topology, and of vacuum and charged black rings, which have a ringlike horizon topology.

Information about the collapsed matter in black holes will be lost with thermal Hawking radiations. Recently, it has been proved that information is conserved in Hawking radiation from stationary black holes with the nonthermal spectrum discovered by Parikh and Wilczek. In this paper, we study the information loss problem for spherically symmetric nonstationary black holes. We prove that information can be recovered even with Hawking radiations from dynamical horizons.

We investigate the Hawking radiation of a GMGHS charged black hole from the heterotic string scenario by the massive particles tunneling method. We consider the spacetime background to be dynamical, incorporate the self-gravitation effect of the emitted particles and show that the tunneling rate is related to the change of Bekenstein–Hawking entropy and the derived emission spectrum does not deviate from the pure thermal spectrum of Schwrzschild's black hole.

The Hawking radiation of black hole in Einstein-Proca theory is discussed in this paper. The Einstein-Proca black hole is more general than Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, because Proca field is massive vector field. We calculate several quantum perturbations in this spacetime, and obtain the Hawking radiation at the horizon in Einstein-Proca theory.

The information paradox first surfaced in the early 1970s when Stephen Hawking of Cambridge University suggested that black holes are not totally black. Hawking showed that particle-antiparticle pairs generated at the event horizon—the outer periphery of a black hole—would be separated. One particle would fall into the black hole while the other would escape, making the black hole a radiating body. Characteristics of the emission and absorption of usual substance by a black hole can be described by information models. Estimation of the volume of information in black holes is necessary for generation of restrictions for their formation, development and interconversion. Information is an integral part of the Universe. By its physical essence information is heterogeneity of matter and energy. Therefore information is inseparably connected with matter and energy. An information approach along with a physical one allows to obtain new, sometimes more general data in relation to data obtained on the ground of physical rules only. The author’s works, testify about the practicality of information laws usage simultaneously with physical rules for cognition of the Universe. The results presented in this paper show the effectiveness of informational approach for studying the black holes. We investigate the stability of highly charged Reissner-Nordstr\"om black holes to charged scalar perturbations. We show that the near-horizon region exhibits a transient instability which becomes the Aretakis instability in the extremal limit. The rates we obtain match the enhanced rates for nonaxisymmetric perturbations of the near-extremal and extremal Kerr solutions. We apply the null-geodesic method to investigate tunneling radiation of charged and magnetized massive particles from Taub-NUT-Reissner-Nordstrom black holes endowed with electric as well as magnetic charges in Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spaces. The geodesics of charged massive particle tunneling from the black hole is not lightlike, but can be determined by the phase velocity. We find that the tunneling rate is related to the difference of Bekenstein-Hawking entropies of the black hole before and after the emission of particles. The entropy differs from just a quarter area at the horizon of black holes with NUT parameter. The emission spectrum is not precisely thermal anymore and the deviation from the precisely thermal spectrum can bring some information out, which can be treated as an explanation to the information loss paradox. The result can also be treated as a quantum-corrected radiation temperature, which is dependent on the black hole background and the radiation particle’s energy and charges.

We construct a general family of exact non-extremal 4-dimensional black holes in AdS gravity with U ( 1 ) gauge fields non-minimally coupled to a dilaton and a non-trivial dilaton potential. These black holes can have spherical, toroidal, and hyperbolic horizon topologies. We use the entropy function formalism to obtain the near horizon data in the extremal limit. Due to the non-trivial self-interaction of the scalar field, the zero temperature black holes can have a finite horizon area even if only the electric field is turned on.
