Trillium lattices formed by corner-shared triangular units are the platform for magnetic frustration in three dimensions. Herein, we report structural and magnetic properties of the Cr-based double trillium lattice material KBaCr$_2$(PO$_4$)$_3$ studied by x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and $^{31}$P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements complemented by density-functional band-structure calculations. Heat capacity and $^{31}$P NMR measurements reveal the magnetic transition at $T_{\rm N1} \simeq 13.5$ K in zero field followed by another transition at $T_{\rm N2} \simeq 7$ K in weak applied fields. The NMR sublattice magnetization confirms that the transition at $T_{\rm N1}$ is 3D in nature. The $^{31}$P spin-lattice relaxation rate in the ordered state follows the $T^3$ behavior indicative of the two-magnon Raman process. The spin lattice of KBaCr$_2$(PO$_4$)$_3$ comprises two crystallographically nonequivalent ferromagnetic sublattices that are coupled antiferromagnetically, thus eliminating frustration in this trillium network., Comment: 12 pages, 13 figures

We probe the magnetic field-induced Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid (TLL) state in the bond-alternating spin-$1/2$ antiferromagnetic (AFM) chain compound NaVOPO$_4$ using thermodynamic as well as local $\mu$SR and $^{31}$P NMR probes down to milli-K temperatures in magnetic fields up to 14~T. The $\mu$SR and NMR relaxation rates in the gapless TLL regime decay slowly following characteristic power-law behaviour, enabling us to directly determine the interaction parameter $K$ as a function of the magnetic field. These estimates are cross-checked using magnetization and specific heat data. The field-dependent $K$ lies in the range of $0.4 < K < 1$ and indicates repulsive nature of interactions between the spinless fermions, in line with the theoretical predictions. This renders NaVOPO$_4$ the first experimental realization of TLL with repulsive fermionic interactions in hitherto studied $S=1/2$ bond-alternating AFM-AFM chain compounds., Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures, 47 references

The structural and magnetic properties of the geometrically frustrated spin-$1/2$ capped-kagome antiferromagnet (RbCl)Cu$_{5}$P$_{2}$O$_{10}$ are investigated via temperature dependent x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, and $^{31}$P NMR experiments on a polycrystalline sample. It undergoes a structural transition at around $T_{\rm t} \simeq 310$ K from a high temperature trigonal ($P\bar{3}m1$) to a low temperature monoclinic ($C2/c$) unit cell, where the low temperature structure features the capped-kagome geometry of Cu$^{2+}$ ions. Interestingly, it shows the onset of two successive magnetic transitions at $T_{\rm N1} \simeq 20$ K and $T_{\rm N2} \simeq 7$ K. The shape of the $^{31}$P NMR spectra unfold the possible nature of the transitions below $T_{\rm N1}$ and $T_{\rm N2}$ to be of incommensurate and commensurate antiferromagnetic type, respectively. A large value of the Curie-Weiss temperature as compared to $T_{\rm N1}$ sets the frustration parameter $f \simeq 8$, ensuring strong magnetic frustration in the compound. From the $^{31}$P NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate, the leading antiferromagnetic exchange coupling is estimated to be $J/k_{\rm B} \simeq 117$ K. We report a detailed study of the specific heat and magnetic susceptibility of single crystals of a spin liquid candidate: the hyper-honeycomb Cu oxalate framework compound [(C$_2$H$_5$)$_3$NH]$_2$Cu$_2$(C$_2$O$_4$)$_3$. The specific heat shows no anomaly associated with a magnetic transition at low temperatures down to $T\sim$ 180 mK in zero magnetic field. We observe a large linear-in-$T$ contribution to the specific heat $\gamma T$, $\gamma = 98(1)$ mK/mol K$^{2}$, at low temperatures, indicative of the presence of fermionic excitations despite the Mott insulating state. The low-$T$ specific heat is strongly suppressed by applied magnetic fields $H$, which induce an energy gap, $\Delta (H)$, in the spin-excitation spectrum. We use the four-component relativistic density-functional theory (DFT) to calculate the magnetic interactions, including the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya antisymmetric exchange, which causes an effective staggered field acting on one copper sublattice. The magnitude and field dependence of the field-induced gap, $\Delta (H) \propto H^{2/3}$, are accurately predicted by the soliton mass calculated from the sine-Gordon model of weakly coupled antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chains with all parameters determined by our DFT calculations. Thus our experiment and calculations are entirely consistent with a model of [(C$_2$H$_5$)$_3$NH]$_2$Cu$_2$(C$_2$O$_4$)$_3$ in which anisotropic magnetic exchange interactions due to Jahn-Teller distortion cause one copper sublattice to dimerize, leaving a second sublattice of weakly coupled antiferromagnetic chains. We also show that this model quantitatively accounts for the measured temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility. Thus [(C$_2$H$_5$)$_3$NH]$_2$Cu$_2$(C$_2$O$_4$)$_3$ is a canonical example of a one-dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet and not a resonating-valence-bond quantum spin liquid, as previously proposed., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

The interplay between spin-orbit coupling, anisotropic magnetic interaction, frustration-induced quantum fluctuations and spin correlations can lead to novel quantum states with exotic excitations in rare-earth-based quantum magnets. Herein, we present the crystal structure, magnetization, electron spin resonance (ESR), specific heat, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments on the polycrystalline samples of Ba9Yb2Si6O24, in which Yb3+ ions form a perfect honeycomb lattice without detectable anti-site disorder. The magnetization data reveal antiferromagnetically coupled spin-orbit entangled Jeff = 1/2 degrees of freedom of Yb3+ ions in the Kramers doublet state. The ESR measurements reveal that the first excited Kramers doublet is 32.3(7) meV above the ground state. The specific heat results suggest the absence of any long-range magnetic order in the measured temperature range. Furthermore, the 29Si NMR results do not indicate any signature of magnetic ordering down to 1.6 K, and the spin-lattice relaxation rate reveals the presence of a field-induced gap that is attributed to the Zeeman splitting of Kramers doublet state in this quantum material. Our experiments detect neither spin freezing nor long-range magnetic ordering down to 1.6 K. The current results suggest the presence of short-range spin correlations in this spin-orbit entangled Jeff =1/2 rare-earth magnet on a honeycomb lattice.

139La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements have been performed to investigate the magnetic properties of the itinerant magnet La2Ni7 which shows a series of antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase transitions at $T_{N1}$=61 K, $T_{N2}$=56 K, and $T_{N3}$=42 K under zero magnetic field. Two distinct La NMR signals were observed due to the two crystallographically inequivalent La sites in La2Ni7 (La1 and La2 in the La2Ni4 and the LaNi5 sub-units of the La2Ni7 unit cell, respectively). From the 139La NQR spectrum in the AFM state below $T_{N3}$, the AFM state was revealed to be a commensurate state where Ni ordered moments align along the crystalline c axis. Owing to the two different La sites, we were able to estimate the average values of the Ni ordered moments ($\sim$0.09-0.10 $\mu_{B}$/Ni and $\sim$0.17$\mu_{B}$/Ni around La1 and La2, respectively) from 139La NMR spectrum measurements in the AFM state below $T_{N3}$, suggesting a non-uniform distribution of the Ni-ordered moments in the AFM state. In contrast, a more uniform distribution of the Ni-ordered moments in the saturated paramagnetic state induced by the application of high magnetic fields is observed. The temperature dependence of the sublattice magnetization measured by the internal field at the La2 site in the AFM state was reproduced by a local moment model better than the self-consistent renormalization (SCR) theory for weak itinerant antiferromagnets. Given the small Ni-ordered moments in the magnetically ordered state, our results suggest that La2Ni7 has characteristics of both itinerant and localized natures in its magnetism. With this in mind, it is noteworthy that the temperature dependence of nuclear spin-relaxation rates in the paramagnetic state above $T_{N1}$ measured at zero magnetic field can be explained qualitatively by both the SCR theory and the local-moment model., Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. The sulfur-substituted FeSe, FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x} $, is one of the unique systems that provides an independent tunability of nematicity, antiferromagnetism and superconductivity under pressure ($p$). Recently Rana et al. [Phys. Rev. B 101, 180503(R) (2020)] reported, from $^{77}$Se nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$ under pressure, that there exists a clear role of nematicity on the relationship between antiferromagnetic (AFM) spin fluctuations and superconducting transition temperature ($T_{\rm c}$) where the AFM spin fluctuations are more effective in enhancing $T_{\rm c}$ in the absence of nematicity than with nematicity. Motivated by the work, we carried out $^{77}$Se NMR measurements on FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ with $x$= 0.15 and 0.29 under pressure up to 2.10 GPa to investigate the relationship in a wide range of $x$ in the FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$ system. Based on the new results together with the previously reported data for $x$=0 [P. Wiecki et al., Phys. Rev. B 96, 180502(R) (2017)] and 0.09 [K. Rana et al. Phys. Rev. B 101, 180503(R) (2020)], we established a $p$ - $x$ - temperature ($T$) phase diagram exhibiting the evolution of AFM spin fluctuations. From the systematic analysis of the NMR data, we found that the superconducting (SC) state in nematic state arises from a non Fermi liquid state with strong stripe-type AFM spin fluctuations while the SC state without nematicity comes from a Fermi liquid state with mild stripe-type AFM spin fluctuations. Furthermore, we show that the previously reported impact of nematicity on the relationship between AFM fluctuations and superconductivity holds throughout the wide range of $x$ from $x$ = 0 to 0.29 in FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ under pressure. We discuss the origin of the role of nematicity in terms of the different numbers of hotspots on Fermi surfaces with and without nematicity., Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. The magnetic order for several compositions of CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Mn$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ has been studied by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and neutron diffraction. Our observations for the Mn-doped 1144 compound are consistent with the hedgehog spin vortex crystal (hSVC) order which has previously been found for Ni-doped $\text{Ca}\text{K}\text{Fe}_4\text{As}_4$. The hSVC state is characterized by the stripe-type propagation vectors $(\pi\,0)$ and $(0\,\pi)$ just as in the doped 122 compounds. The hSVC state preserves tetragonal symmetry at the Fe site, and only this SVC motif with simple AFM stacking along $\textbf{c}$ is consistent with all our observations using NMR, M\"ossbauer spectroscopy, and neutron diffraction. We find that the hSVC state in the Mn-doped 1144 compound coexists with superconductivity (SC), and by combining the neutron scattering and M\"ossbauer spectroscopy data we can infer a quantum phase transition, hidden under the superconducting dome, associated with the suppression of the AFM transition temperature ($T_\text{N}$) to zero for $x\approx0.01$. In addition, unlike several 122 compounds and Ni-doped 1144, the ordered magnetic moment is not observed to decrease at temperatures below the superconducting transition temperature ($T_\text{c}$)., Comment: 10 pages and 10 figures

We here study the transfer process of material from one hemisphere to the other (deposition of airfall material) on an active comet nucleus, specifically 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Our goals are to: 1) quantify the thickness of the airfall debris layers and how it depends on the location of the target area, 2) determine the amount of $\mathrm{H_2O}$ and $\mathrm{CO_2}$ ice that are lost from icy dust assemblages of different sizes during transfer through the coma, and 3) estimate the relative amount of vapor loss in airfall material after deposition in order to understand what locations are expected to be more active than others on the following perihelion approach. We use various numerical simulations, that include orbit dynamics, thermophysics of the nucleus and of individual coma aggregates, coma gas kinetics and hydrodynamics, as well as dust dynamics due to gas drag, to address these questions. We find that the thickness of accumulated airfall material varies substantially with location, and typically is of the order $0.1$-$1\,\mathrm{m}$. The airfall material preserves substantial amounts of water ice even in relatively small (cm-sized) coma aggregates after a rather long ($12\,\mathrm{h}$) residence in the coma. However, $\mathrm{CO_2}$ is lost within a couple of hours even in relatively large (dm-sized) aggregates, and is not expected to be an important component in airfall deposits. We introduce reachability and survivability indices to measure the relative capacity of different regions to simultaneously collect airfall and to preserve its water ice until the next perihelion passage, thereby grading their potential of contributing to comet activity during the next perihelion passage., Comment: 65 pages, 11 figures. We report the structural and magnetic properties of a new spin-$\frac12$ antiferromagnet NaZnVOPO$_4$(HPO$_4$) studied via x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, high-field magnetization, specific heat, and $^{31}$P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements, as well as density-functional band-structure calculations. While thermodynamic properties of this compound are well described by the $J_1-J_2$ square-lattice model, \textit{ab initio} calculations suggest a significant deformation of the spin lattice. From fits to the magnetic susceptibility we determine the averaged nearest-neighbor and second-neighbor exchange couplings of $\bar J_1\simeq -1.3$ K and $\bar J_2\simeq 5.6$ K, respectively. Experimental saturation field of 15.3\,T is consistent with these estimates if 20\% spatial anisotropy in $J_1$ is taken into account. Specific heat data signal the onset of a magnetic long-range order at $T_{\rm N} \simeq 2.1$ K, which is further supported by a sharp peak in the NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate. The NMR spectra mark the superposition of two P lines due to two noneqivalent P sites where the broad line with the strong hyperfine coupling and short $T_1$ is identified as the P(1) site located within the magnetic planes, while the narrow line with the weak hyperfine coupling and long $T_1$ is designated as the P(2) site located between the planes., Comment: 13 pages, 11 figures

Quantum fluctuations enhanced by frustration and subtle interplay between competing degrees of freedom offer an ideal ground to realize novel states with fractional quantum numbers in quantum materials that defy standard theoretical paradigms. Quantum spin liquid (QSL) is a highly entangled state wherein frustration induced strong quantum fluctuations preclude symmetry breaking phase transitions down to zero temperature without any order parameter. Experimental realizations of QSL in quantum materials with spin dimensionality greater than one is very rare. Here, we present our thermodynamic, nuclear magnetic resonance, muon spin relaxation and inelastic neutron scattering studies of a new rare-earth hyperkagome compound Li3Yb3Te2O12 in which Yb3+ ions constitute a three dimensional spin-lattice without any detectable disorder. Our comprehensive experiments evince neither signature of magnetic ordering nor spin freezing down to 38 mK that suggest the realization of dynamic liquid-like ground state in this antiferromagnet. The ground state of this material is interpreted by a low energy Jeff = 1/2 degrees of freedom with short range spin correlations. The present results demonstrate a viable basis to explore spin-orbit driven enigmatic correlated quantum states in a new class of rare-earth based three dimensional frustrated magnets that may open new avenues in theoretical and experimental search for spin liquids.

The physical properties of itinerant antiferromagnetic (AFM) SrCr$_2$As$_2$ with body-centered tetragonal ThCr$_2$Si$_2$ structure were investigated in single crystalline and polycrystalline forms by electrical resistivity $\rho$, heat capacity $C_{\rm p}$, magnetic susceptibility $\chi$ versus temperature~$T$ and magnetization $M$ versus applied magnetic field $H$ isotherm measurements as well as $^{75}$As and $^{53}$Cr nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements in the wide temperature range $T$ = 1.6--900 K. From the $\chi(T)$ and $^{75}$As NMR measurements, the G-type AFM state below $T_{\rm N}$ = 615(15) K has been determined, consistent with the previous neutron-diffraction measurements. Direct evidence of magnetic ordering of the Cr spins was shown by the observation of the $^{53}$Cr NMR spectrum under $H$ = 0. From the $\chi(T)$ measurements on single-crystal SrCr$_2$As$_2$ under the two different magnetic field directions $H||ab$ and $H||c$ in the AFM state, the Cr ordered moments are shown to align along the $c$ axis in the G-type AFM state. The metallic state is directly evidenced by the $\rho$, $C_{\rm p}$, and NMR measurements, and the density of states at the Fermi energy ${\cal D}(E_{\rm F})$ in the AFM state is estimated to be 7.53 states/eV f.u. for both spin directions which is almost twice the bare ${\cal D}(E_{\rm F})$ estimated from first-principles calculations, suggesting an enhancement of the conduction-carrier mass by a factor of two in the AFM state. The ${\cal D}(E_{\rm F})$ is found to be nearly constant below at least 100 K and is independent of $H$. The $\rho(T)$ is found to show $T$-linear behavior above $T_{\rm N}$ and exhibits positive curvature below $T_{\rm N}$ where significant loss of spin-disorder scattering upon magnetic ordering is observed., Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. We report the results of magnetic susceptibility $\chi$ and $^1$H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on a three-dimensional hyper-honeycomb lattice compound [(C$_2$H$_5$)$_3$NH]$_2$Cu$_2$(C$_2$O$_4$)$_3$ (CCCO). The average value of the antiferromagnetic (AFM) exchange coupling between the Cu$^{2+}$ ($S$ = 1/2) spins was determined to be $J$~$\sim$~50 K from the $\chi$ measurements. No long-range magnetic ordering has been observed down to $T$ = 50 mK, although NMR lines become slightly broader at low temperatures below 1 K. The broadening of the NMR spectrum observed below 1 K reveals that the Cu spin moments remain at this temperature, suggesting a non-spin-singlet ground state. The temperature and magnetic field dependence of 1/$T_1$ at temperatures above 20 K is well explained by paramagnetic thermal spin fluctuations where the fluctuation frequency of Cu$^{2+}$ spins is higher than the NMR frequency of the order of MHz. However, a clear signature of the slowing down of the Cu$^{2+}$ spin fluctuations was observed at low temperatures where 1/$T_1$ shows a thermally-activated behavior. The magnetic field dependence of the magnitude of the spin excitation gap suggests that the magnetic behaviors of CCCO are characterized as an AFM chain at low temperatures., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication as a Letter in Phys. We carried out $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on the trigonal CaMn$_2$As$_2$ and SrMn$_2$As$_2$ insulators exhibiting antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordered states below N\'eel temperatures $T_{\rm N}$ = 62 K and 120 K, respectively. In the paramagnetic state above $T_{\rm N}$, typical quadrupolar-split $^{75}$As-NMR spectra were observed for both systems. The $^{75}$As quadrupolar frequency $\nu_{\rm Q}$ for CaMn$_2$As$_2$ decreases with decreasing temperature, while $\nu_{\rm Q}$ for SrMn$_2$As$_2$ increases, showing an opposite temperature dependence.In the AFM state, the relatively sharp and distinct $^{75}$As NMR lines were observed in SrMn$_2$As$_2$ and the NMR spectra were shifted to lower fields for both magnetic fields $H$ $||$ $c$ axis and $H$ $||$ $ab$ plane, suggesting that the internal fields $B_{\rm int}$ at the As site produced by the Mn ordered moments are nearly perpendicular to the external magnetic field direction. No obvious distribution of $B_{\rm int}$ was observed in SrMn$_2$As$_2$, which clearly indicates a commensurate AFM state. In sharp contrast to SrMn$_2$As$_2$, broad and complex NMR spectra were observed in CaMn$_2$As$_2$ in the AFM state, which clearly shows a distribution of $B_{\rm int}$ at the As site, indicating an incommensurate state. From the analysis of the characteristic shape of the observed spectra, the AFM state of CaMn$_2$As$_2$ was determined to be a two-dimensional incommensurate state where Mn ordered moments are aligned in the $ab$ plane. A possible origin for the different AFM states in the systems was discussed. Both CaMn$_2$As$_2$ and SrMn$_2$As$_2$ show very large anisotropy in the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/$T_1$ in the paramagnetic state. 1/$T_1$ for $H$ $||$ $ab$ is much larger than that for $H$ $|| $c$, indicating strong anisotropic AFM spin fluctuations in both compounds., Comment: 10 pages, 11 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. We report x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity, $^{1}$H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and muon spin relaxation ($\mu$SR) measurements, as well as density-functional band-structure calculations for the frustrated $S=3/2$ triangular lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet (TLHAF) $\alpha$-HCrO$_{2}$ (trigonal, space group: $R\bar{3}m$). This compound undergoes a clear magnetic transition at $T_{\rm N} \simeq 22.5$~K, as seen from the drop in the muon paramagnetic fraction and concurrent anomalies in the magnetic susceptibility and specific heat. Local probes (NMR and $\mu$SR) reveal a broad regime with slow fluctuations down to $0.7\,T_{\rm N}$, this temperature corresponding to the maximum in the $\mu$SR relaxation rate and in the NMR wipe-out. From the comparison with NaCrO$_{2}$ and $\alpha$-KCrO$_{2}$, the fluctuating regime and slow dynamics below $T_{\rm N}$ appear to be hallmarks of the TLHAF with $ABC$ stacking that leads to a frustration of interlayer couplings between the triangular planes. This interlayer frustration is a powerful lever to generate spin states with persistent dynamics and may bear implications to spin-liquid candidates with the triangular geometry., Comment: 14 pages, 11 figures, 2 tables

$^{139}$La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements under pressure ($p = 0-2.64$ GPa) have been carried out to investigate the static and dynamic magnetic properties of the itinerant ferromagnet LaCrGe$_3$. $^{139}$La-NMR spectra for all measured pressures in the ferromagnetically ordered state show a large shift due to the internal field induction $|$$B_{\rm int}$$|$ $\sim$ 4 T at the La site produced by Cr ordered moments. The change in $B_{\rm int}$ by less than 5\% with $p$ up to 2.64~GPa indicates that the Cr 3$d$ moments are robust under pressure. The temperature dependence of NMR shift and $B_{\rm int}$ suggest that the ferromagnetic order develops below $\sim$ 50~K under higher pressures in a magnetic field of $\sim$ 7.2 T. Based on the analysis of NMR data using the self-consistent-renormalization (SCR) theory, the spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic state well above $T_{\rm C}$ are revealed to be three dimensional ferromagnetic throughout the measured $p$ region., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Single crystals of SrMn2P2 and CaMn2P2 were grown using Sn flux and characterized by single-crystal x-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity rho, heat capacity Cp, and magnetic susceptibility chi = M/H measurements versus temperature T and magnetization M versus applied magnetic field H isotherm measurements. The x-ray diffraction results show that both compounds adopt the trigonal CaAl2Si2-type structure. The rho(T) measurements demonstrate insulating ground states for both compounds. The chi(T) and Cp(T) data reveal a weak first-order antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition at the Neel temperature TN = 53(1) K for SrMn2P2 and a strong first-order AFM transition at TN = 69.8(3) K for CaMn2P2. Both compounds show an isotropic and nearly T-independent chi(T < TN). {31}P NMR measurements confirm the strong first-order transition in CaMn2P2 but show critical slowing down near TN for SrMn2P2 thus evidencing second-order character. The NMR measurements also indicate that the AFM structure of CaMn2P2 is commensurate with the lattice whereas that of SrMn2P2 is incommensurate. These first-order AFM transitions are unique among the class of trigonal (Ca, Sr, Ba)Mn2(P, As, Sb, Bi)2 compounds which otherwise exhibit second-order AFM transitions. We present the structural and magnetic properties of KNaCuP$_2$O$_7$ investigated via x-ray diffraction, magnetization, specific heat, and $^{31}$P NMR and $^{23}$Na NMR measurements and complementary electronic structure calculations. The temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility and $^{31}$P NMR shift could be modeled very well by the uniform spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain model with nearest-neighbour interaction $J/k_{\rm B}\simeq 58.7$ K. The corresponding mapping using first principles electronic structure calculations leads to $J^{\rm DFT}/k_{\rm B} \simeq 59$ K with negligibly small inter-chain couplings ($J^{\prime}/k_{\rm B}$, $J^{\prime \prime}/k_{\rm B} < 0.1$ K), further confirming that the system is indeed an one-dimensional uniform spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnet. The temperature-dependent unit cell volume could be described well using the Debye approximation with a Debye temperature of $\Theta_{\rm D} \simeq 294$ K, consistent with the heat capacity data. The diverging trend of the NMR spin-lattice relaxation rates ($^{31}1/T_1$ and $^{23}1/T_1$) imply the onset of a magnetic long-range-ordering at very low temperatures supporting the anticipated $T_{\rm N} \simeq 0.38$ K from the inter-chain couplings. Moreover, the NMR spin-lattice relaxation rates show the dominant contributions from uniform ($q=0$) and staggered ($q = \pm \pi/a$) spin fluctuations in the high and low temperature regimes, respectively mimicking one-dimensionality of the spin-lattice. We have also demonstrated that $^{31}1/T_1$ in high temperatures varies linearly with $1/\sqrt{H}$ reflecting the effect of spin diffusion on the dynamic susceptibility. Further, the inter-chain frustration also substantially impede the magnetic ordering rendering the spin-lattice a perfect one-dimensional uniform spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnet over a wide temperature range., Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures, 1 table

We report synthesis and magnetic properties of quasi-one-dimensional spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain compound BaNa$_2$Cu(VO$_4$)$_2$. This orthovanadate has a centrosymmetric crystal structure, $C2/c$, where the magnetic Cu$^{2+}$ ions form spin chains. These chains are arranged in layers, with the chain direction changing by 62$^0$ between the two successive layers. Alternatively, the spin lattice can be viewed as anisotropic triangular layers upon taking the inter-chain interactions into consideration. Despite this potential structural complexity, temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity, ESR intensity, and NMR shift agree well with the uniform spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg chain model with an intrachain coupling of $J/k_{\rm B} \simeq 5.6$ K. The saturation field obtained from the magnetic isotherm measurement consistently reproduces the value of $J/k_{\rm B}$. Further, the $^{51}$V NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate mimics the 1D character in the intermediate temperature range, whereas magnetic long-range order sets in below $T_{\rm N} \simeq 0.25$ K. The effective interchain coupling is estimated to be $J_{\perp}/k_{\rm B} \simeq 0.1$ K. The theoretical estimation of exchange couplings using band-structure calculations reciprocate our experimental findings and unambiguously establish the 1D character of the compound. Finally, the spin lattice of BaNa$_2$Cu(VO$_4$)$_2$ is compared with the chemically similar but not isostructural compound BaAg$_2$Cu(VO$_4)_2$., Comment: 12 pages, 11 figures, 1 table, Phys. Rev. In the nematic state of iron-based superconductors, twin formation often obscures the intrinsic, anisotropic, in-plane physical properties.Relatively high in-plane external magnetic fields $H_{\rm ext}$ greater than the typical lab-scale magnetic fields 10--15 T are usually required to completely detwin a sample. However, recently a very small in-plane $H_{\rm ext} \sim$ 0.1 T was found to be sufficient for detwinning the nematic domains in EuFe$_2$As$_2$. To explain this behavior, a microscopic theory based on biquadratic magnetic interactions between the Eu and Fe spins has been proposed. Here, using $^{153}$Eu nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements below the Eu$^{2+}$ ordering temperature, we show experimental evidence of the detwinning under small in-plane $H_{\rm ext}$. The spin-liquid candidate $\kappa$-(ET)$_2$Cu$_2$(CN)$_3$ [ET: bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene] does not exhibit magnetic ordering down to a very low temperature, but shows a mysterious anomaly at 6 K. The origin of the so-called 6 K anomaly is still under debate. We carried out nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements on the copper sites of the insulating layers, which are sensitive to the charge dynamics unlike the conventional spin-1/2 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The main finding of this study is that the observation of a sharp peak behavior in the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate $T_1^{-1}$ of $^{63}$Cu NQR at 6 K while $T_1^{-1}$ of both $^{13}$C and $^{1}$H NMR show no clear anomaly. Filled skutterudite compound EuFe$_4$As$_{12}$ shows the highest magnetic ordering temperature of $T_{\rm C}$ = 154 K among Eu-based skutterudite compounds, but its magnetic ground state has not been determined yet. Here, we performed $^{153}$Eu nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and $^{75}$As nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements on EuFe$_4$As$_{12}$ to reveal its magnetic ground state as well as the physical properties from a microscopic point of view. From the temperature and magnetic field dependence of $^{153}$Eu NMR spectrum in the magnetically ordered state, we found that the Eu ions are in Eu$^{2+}$ state with a nearly 7 $\mu_{\rm B}$ corresponding to $S$ = 7/2 spins. Combined with the magnetization measurements which show the reduced saturation moments of 4.5 $\mu_{\rm B}$/f.u., we determined the ground magnetic structure in EuFe$_4$As$_{12}$ to be ferrimagnetic where the Eu$^{2+}$ 4$f$ and the Fe 3$d$ ordered moments are ferromagnetically aligned in each sublattice but the moments between the sublattices are antiferromagnetically aligned. We also found the local distortion at the Eu site from the cubic symmetry in the magnetically ordered state. The relationship between the rattling motion of Eu atoms and the local symmetry of the Eu ions is discussed. From the $^{75}$As NQR nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time measurements as well as $^{153}$Eu NMR measurements, we found that the 4$f$ electrons of the Eu ions are well described by the local moment picture in both the magnetic and paramagnetic metallic states., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. The sulfur substituted FeSe system, FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$, provides a versatile platform for studying the relationship between nematicity, antiferromagnetism, and superconductivity. Here, by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and resistivity measurements up to 4.73 GPa on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$, we established the pressure($p$)-temperature($T$) phase diagram in which the nematic state is suppressed with pressure showing a nematic quantum phase transition (QPT) around $p$ = 0.5 GPa, two SC regions, separated by the QPT, appear and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase emerges above $\sim$3.3 GPa. From the NMR results up to 2.1 GPa, AFM fluctuations are revealed to be characterized by the stripe-type wavevector which remains the same for the two SC regions. Furthermore, the electronic state is found to change in character from non-Fermi liquid to Fermi liquid around the nematic QPT and persists up to $\sim$ 2.1 GPa. In addition, although the AFM fluctuations correlate with $T_{\rm c}$ in both SC states, demonstrating the importance of the AFM fluctuations for the appearance of SC in the system, we found that, when nematic order is absent, $T_{\rm c}$ is strongly correlated with the AFM fluctuations, whereas $T_{\rm c}$ weakly depends on the AFM fluctuations when nematic order is present. Our findings on FeSe$_{0.91}$S$_{0.09}$ were shown to be applied to the whole FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_{x}$ system and also provide a new insight into the relationship between AFM fluctuations and SC in Fe-based superconductors., Comment: 10 pages, 10 figures including 4 pages and 6 figures of Supplementary Material, accepted for publication in Phys. Structural and magnetic properties of a quasi-one-dimensional spin-$1/2$ compound NaVOPO$_4$ are explored by x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, high-field magnetization, specific heat, electron spin resonance, and $^{31}$P nuclear magnetic resonance measurements, as well as complementary \textit{ab initio} calculations. Whereas magnetic susceptibility of NaVOPO$_4$ may be compatible with the gapless uniform spin chain model, detailed examination of the crystal structure reveals a weak alternation of the exchange couplings with the alternation ratio $\alpha\simeq 0.98$ and the ensuing zero-field spin gap $\Delta_{0}/k_{\rm B} \simeq 2.4$~K directly probed by field-dependent magnetization measurements. No long-range order is observed down to 50\,mK in zero field. However, applied fields above the critical field $H_{c1}\simeq 1.6$\,T give rise to a magnetic ordering transition with the phase boundary $T_{\rm N} \propto {(H - H_{\rm c1})^{\frac{1}{\phi}}}$, where $\phi \simeq 1.8$ is close to the value expected for Bose-Einstein condensation of triplons. With its weak alternation of the exchange couplings and small spin gap, NaVOPO$_4$ lies close to the quantum critical point., Comment: 15 pages, 15 figures, 2 tables

Motivated by the recent observation of ferromagnetic spin correlations in the filled skutterudite SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$ [Ding et al., Phys. Rev. B 98, 155149 (2018)], we have carried out $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements to investigate the role of magnetic fluctuations in a newly discovered isostructural superconductor SrOs$_4$As$_{12}$ with a superconducting transition temperature of $T_{\rm c}$ $\sim$ 4.8 K. Knight shift $K$ determined by the NQR spectrum under a small magnetic field ($\le$ 0.5 T) is nearly independent of temperature, consistent with the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, 1/$T_1T$, is nearly independent of temperature above $\sim$ 50 K and increases slightly with decreasing temperature below the temperature. The temperature dependence is reasonably explained by a simple model where a flat band structure with a small ledge near the Fermi energy is assumed. By comparing the present NMR data with those in SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$, we found that the values of $|K|$ and $1/T_1T$ in SrOs$_4$As$_{12}$ are smaller than those in SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$, indicating no obvious ferromagnetic spin correlations in SrOs$_4$As$_{12}$. Whereas magnetic frustration is typically associated with local-moment magnets in special geometric arrangements, here we show that SrCo$_{2}$As$_{2}$ is a candidate for frustrated itinerant magnetism. Using inelastic neutron scattering (INS), we find that antiferromagnetic (AF) spin fluctuations develop in the square Co layers of SrCo$_{2}$As$_{2}$ below $T\approx100$ K centered at the stripe-type AF propagation vector of $(\frac{1}{2},~\frac{1}{2})$, and that their development is concomitant with a suppression of the uniform magnetic susceptibility determined via magnetization measurements. We interpret this switch in spectral weight as signaling a temperature-induced crossover from an instability towards FM ordering to an instability towards stripe-type AF ordering on cooling, and show results from Monte-Carlo simulations for a $J_{1}$-$J_{2}$ Heisenberg model that illustrate how the crossover develops as a function of the frustration ratio $-J_1/(2J_2)$. By putting our INS data on an absolute scale, we quantitatively compare them and our magnetization data to exact-diagonalization calculations for the $J_{1}$-$J_{2}$ model [N. Shannon et al., Eur. Phys. J. B 38, 599 (2004)], and show that the calculations predict a lower level of magnetic frustration than indicated by experiment. We trace this discrepancy to the large energy scale of the fluctuations ($J_{\text{avg}}\gtrsim75$ meV), which, in addition to the steep dispersion, is more characteristic of itinerant magnetism., Comment: To appear in Phys. LaCrGe$_3$ is an itinerant ferromagnet with a Curie temperature of $T_{\rm c}$ = 85 K and exhibits an avoided ferromagnetic quantum critical point under pressure through a modulated antiferromagnetic phase as well as tri-critical wing structure in its temperature-pressure-magnetic field ($T$-$p$-$H$) phase diagram. In order to understand the static and dynamical magnetic properties of LaCrGe$_3$, we carried out $^{139}$La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. Based on the analysis of NMR data, using the self-consistent-renomalization (SCR) theory, the spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic state are revealed to be isotropic ferromagnetic and three dimensional (3D) in nature. Moreover, the system is found to follow the generalized Rhodes-Wohfarth relation which is expected in 3D itinerant ferromagnetic systems. As compared to other similar itinerant ferromagnets, the Cr 3$d$ electrons and their spin fluctuations are characterized to have a relatively high degree of localization in real space., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. We present neutron diffraction data for the cubic-heavy-fermion YbBiPt that show broad magnetic diffraction peaks due to the fragile short-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) order persist under an applied magnetic-field $\mathbf{H}$. Our results for $\mathbf{H}\perp[\bar{1}~1~0]$ and a temperature of $T=0.14(1)$ K show that the $(\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2},\frac{3}{2})$ magnetic diffraction peak can be described by the same two-peak lineshape found for $\mu_{0}H=0$ T below the N\'{e}el temperature of $T_{\text{N}}=0.4$ K. Both components of the peak exist for $\mu_{0}H\lesssim1.4 T$, which is well past the AFM phase boundary determined from our new resistivity data. Using neutron diffraction data taken at $T=0.13(2)$ K for $\mathbf{H}\parallel[0~0~1]$ or $[1~1~0]$, we show that domains of short-range AFM order change size throughout the previously determined AFM and non-Fermi liquid regions of the phase diagram, and that the appearance of a magnetic diffraction peak at $(\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2})$ at $\mu_{0}H\approx0.4$ T signals canting of the ordered magnetic moment away from $[1~1~1]$. The continued broadness of the magnetic diffraction peaks under a magnetic field and their persistence across the AFM phase boundary established by detailed transport and thermodynamic experiments present an interesting quandary concerning the nature of YbBiPt's electronic ground state., Comment: 12 pages, 15 figures

$^{59}$Co and $^{31}$P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements in external magnetic and zero magnetic fields have been performed to investigate the magnetic properties of the A-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) CaCo$_2$P$_2$. NMR data, especially, the nuclear spin lattice relaxation rates 1/$T_1$ exhibiting a clear peak, provide clear evidence for the AFM transition at a N\'eel temperature of $T_{\rm N}\sim$110~K. The magnetic fluctuations in the paramagnetic state were found to be three-dimensional ferromagnetic, suggesting ferromagnetic interaction between Co spins in the ${\it ab}$ plane characterize the spin correlations in the paramagnetic state. In the AFM state below $T_{\rm N}$, we have observed $^{59}$Co and $^{31}$P NMR signals under zero magnetic field. From $^{59}$Co NMR data, the ordered magnetic moments of Co are found to be in $ab$ plane and are estimated to be 0.35 $\mu_{\rm B}$ at 4.2 K. Furthermore, the external field dependence of $^{59}$Co NMR spectrum in the AFM state suggests a very weak magnetic anisotropy of the Co ions and also provides microscopic evidence of canting the Co ordered moments along the external magnetic field directions. The magnetic state of the Co ions in CaCo$_2$P$_2$ is well explained by the local moment picture in the AFM state, although the system is metallic as seen by $1/T_1T$ = constant behavior., Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements have been carried out to investigate the magnetic and electronic properties of the filled skutterudite metallic compound SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$. The temperature dependence of Knight shift $K$ determined by the NQR spectrum under a small magnetic field ($\le$ 0.5 T) shows the similar temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility $\chi$ which exhibits a broad maximum at $T^\ast$ $\sim$ 50 K. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, 1/$T_1T$, increases with decreasing temperature and exhibits a broad maximum at $T$ $\sim$ 70 K, similar to the case of $\chi$. The temperature dependence of $K$ and $1/T_1T$ is reasonably explained by a simple model where we assume a concave-shaped band structure near the Fermi energy. Based on a Korringa ratio analysis using the $T_1$ and $K$ data, ferromagnetic spin fluctuations are found to exist in SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$. These results indicate that SrFe$_4$As$_{12}$ can be characterized to be a metal with ferromagnetic correlations and also the peculiar band structure responsible for the suppression of $1/T_1T$ and $K$ at low temperatures., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Two ordering states, antiferromagnetism and nematicity, have been observed in most iron-based superconductors (SCs). In contrast to those SCs, the newly discovered SC CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ exhibits an antiferromagnetic (AFM) state, called hedgehog spin-vortex crystal structure, without nematic order, providing the opportunity for the investigation into the relationship between spin fluctuations and SC without any effects of nematic fluctuations. Our $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance studies on CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ (0$\le x\le$ 0.049) revealed that CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ is located close to a hidden hedgehog SVC AFM quantum-critical point (QCP). The magnetic QCP without nematicity in CaK(Fe$_{1-x}$Ni$_x$)$_4$As$_4$ highlights the close connection of spin fluctuations and superconductivity in iron-based SCs. The advantage of stoichiometric composition also makes CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ an ideal platform for further detailed investigation of the relationship between magnetic QCP and superconductivity in iron-based SCs without disorder effects., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. We present $^{77}$Se-NMR measurements on FeSe$_{1-x}$S$_x$ samples with sulfur content $x=0,9,15$ and $29\%$. Twinned nematic domains are observed in the NMR spectrum for all samples except $x=29\%$. The NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate shows that magnetic fluctuations are initially enhanced between $x=0\%$ and $x=9\%$, but are strongly suppressed for higher $x$ values. The observed behavior of the magnetic fluctuations parallels the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ in these materials, providing strong evidence for the primary importance of magnetic fluctuations for superconductivity, despite the presence of nematic quantum criticality in this system., Comment: 10 pages and 12 figures including 4 pages and 7 figures of Supplementary Material

We present the results of $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR), and resistivity measurements in KFe$_2$As$_2$ under pressure ($p$). The temperature dependence of the NMR shift, nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time ($T_1$) and resistivity show a crossover between a high-temperature incoherent, local-moment behavior and a low-temperature coherent behavior at a crossover temperature ($T^*$). $T^*$ is found to increase monotonically with pressure, consistent with increasing hybridization between localized $3d$ orbital-derived bands with the itinerant electron bands. No anomaly in $T^*$ is seen at the critical pressure $p_{\rm c}=1.8$ GPa where a change of slope of the superconducting (SC) transition temperature $T_{\rm c}(p)$ has been observed. In contrast, $T_{\rm c}(p)$ seems to correlate with antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the normal state as measured by the NQR $1/T_1$ data, although such a correlation cannot be seen in the replacement effects of A in the AFe$_2$As$_2$ (A= K, Rb, Cs) family. In the superconducting state, two $T_1$ components are observed at low temperatures, suggesting the existence of two distinct local electronic environments. The temperature dependence of the short $T_{\rm 1s}$ indicates nearly gapless state below $T_{\rm c}$. On the other hand, the temperature dependence of the long component 1/$T_{\rm 1L}$ implies a large reduction in the density of states at the Fermi level due to the SC gap formation. These results suggest a real-space modulation of the local SC gap structure in KFe$_2$As$_2$ under pressure., Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, accepted for publication in Phys.Rev. B

Coexistence of a new-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) state, the so-called hedgehog spin-vortex crystal (SVC), and superconductivity (SC) is evidenced by $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance study on single-crystalline CaK(Fe$_{0.951}$Ni$_{0.049}$)$_4$As$_4$. The hedgehog SVC order is clearly demonstrated by the direct observation of the internal magnetic induction along the $c$ axis at the As1 site (close to K) and a zero net internal magnetic induction at the As2 site (close to Ca) below an AFM ordering temperature $T_{\rm N}$ $\sim$ 52 K. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/$T_1$ shows a distinct decrease below $T_{\rm c}$ $\sim$ 10 K, providing also unambiguous evidence for the microscopic coexistence. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the 1/$T_1$ data, the hedgehog SVC-type spin correlations are found to be enhanced below $T$ $\sim$ 150 K in the paramagnetic state. We present $^{77}$Se-NMR measurements on single-crystalline FeSe under pressures up to 2 GPa. Based on the observation of the splitting and broadening of the NMR spectrum due to structural twin domains, we discovered that static, local nematic ordering exists well above the bulk nematic ordering temperature, $T_{\rm s}$. The static, local nematic order and the low-energy stripe-type antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations, as revealed by NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate measurements, are both insensitive to pressure application. We report $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies on a new iron-based superconductor CaKFe$_4$As$_4$ with $T_{\rm c}$ = 35 K. $^{75}$As NMR spectra show two distinct lines corresponding to the As(1) and As(2) sites close to the K and Ca layers, respectively, revealing that K and Ca layers are well ordered without site inversions. We found that nuclear quadrupole frequencies $\nu_{\rm Q}$ of the As(1) and As(2) sites show an opposite temperature ($T$) dependence. Nearly $T$ independent behavior of the Knight shifts $K$ are observed in the normal state, and a sudden decrease in $K$ in the superconducting (SC) state clearly evidences spin-singlet Cooper pairs. $^{75}$As spin-lattice relaxation rates 1/$T_1$ show a power law $T$ dependence with different exponents for the two As sites. The isotropic antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations characterized by the wavevector ${\bf q}$ = ($\pi$, 0) or (0, $\pi$) in the single-iron Brillouin zone notation are revealed by 1/$T_1T$ and $K$ measurements. Such magnetic fluctuations are necessary to explain the observed temperature dependence of the $^{75}$As quadrupole frequencies, as evidenced by our first-principles calculations. Magnetism is widely considered to be a key ingredient of unconventional superconductivity. In contrast to cuprate high-temperature superconductors, antiferromagnetism in Fe-based superconductors (FeSCs) is characterized by a pair of magnetic propagation vectors. Consequently, three different types of magnetic order are possible. Of theses, only stripe-type spin-density wave (SSDW) and spin-charge-density wave (SCDW) orders have been observed. A realization of the proposed spin-vortex crystal (SVC) order is noticeably absent. We report a magnetic phase consistent with the hedgehog variation of SVC order in Ni- and Co-doped CaKFe4As4 based on thermodynamic, transport, structural and local magnetic probes combined with symmetry analysis. The exotic SVC phase is stabilized by the reduced symmetry of the CaKFe4As4 structure. Our results suggest that the possible magnetic ground states in FeSCs have very similar energies, providing an enlarged configuration space for magnetic fluctuations to promote high-temperature superconductivity., Comment: Updated version including supplemental material

We report $^{153}$Eu, $^{75}$As and $^{59}$Co nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) results on EuCo$_2$As$_2$ single crystal. Observations of $^{153}$Eu and $^{75}$As NMR spectra in zero magnetic field at 4.3 K below an antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering temperature $T_{\rm N}$ = 45 K and its external magnetic field dependence clearly evidence an incommensurate helical AFM structure in EuCo$_2$As$_2$. Furthermore, based on $^{59}$Co NMR data in both the paramagnetic and the incommensurate AFM states, we have determined the model-independent value of the AFM propagation vector ${\bf k}$ = (0, 0, 0.73 $\pm$ 0.07)2$\pi$/$c$ where $c$ is the $c$ lattice parameter. Thus the incommensurate helical AFM state was characterized by only NMR data with model-independent analyses, showing NMR to be a unique tool for determination of the spin structure in incommensurate helical AFMs., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Phys.Rev. Recent nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements revealed the coexistence of stripe-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) spin correlations in both the hole- and electron-doped BaFe$_2$As$_2$ families of iron-pnictide superconductors by a Korringa ratio analysis. Motivated by the NMR work, we investigate the possible existence of FM fluctuations in another iron pnictide superconducting family, Ca(Fe$_{1-x}$Co$_x$)$_2$As$_2$. We re-analyzed our previously reported data in terms of the Korringa ratio and found clear evidence for the coexistence of stripe-type AFM and FM spin correlations in the electron-doped CaFe$_2$As$_2$ system. These NMR data indicate that FM fluctuations exist in general in iron-pnictide superconducting families and thus must be included to capture the phenomenology of the iron pnictides., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys. We have carried out $^{125}$Te nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in a wide temperature range of 1.5 -- 300 K to investigate electronic properties of Ge$_{50}$Te$_{50}$, Ag$_{2}$Ge$_{48}$Te$_{50}$ and Sb$_{2}$Ge$_{48}$Te$_{50}$ from a microscopic point of view. From the temperature dependence of NMR shift ($K$) and nuclear spin lattice relaxation rate (1/$T_1$), we found that two bands contribute to the physical properties of the materials. One band overlaps the Fermi level providing the metallic state where no strong electron correlations are revealed by Korringa analysis. The other band is separated from the Fermi level by an energy gap of $E_{\rm g}/k_{\rm B}$ $\sim$ 67 K, which gives rise to the semiconductor-like properties. First principle calculation revealed that the metallic band originates from the Ge vacancy while the semiconductor-like band may be related to the fine structure of the density of states near the Fermi level. Low temperature $^{125}$Te NMR data for the materials studied here clearly show that the Ag substitution increases hole concentration while Sb substitution decreases it., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Phys. The electronic and magnetic properties of the collapsed-tetragonal CaPd$_2$As$_2$ superconductor (SC) with a transition temperature of 1.27 K have been investigated by $^{75}$As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements. The temperature ($T$) dependence of the nuclear spin lattice relaxation rates (1/$T_1$) and the Knight shifts indicate the absence of magnetic correlations in the normal state. In the SC state, 1/$T_1$ measured by $^{75}$As NQR shows a clear Hebel-Slichter (HS) peak just below $T_{\rm c}$ and decreases exponentially at lower $T$, confirming a conventional $s$-wave SC. In addition, the Volovik effect, also known as Doppler shift effect, has been clearly evidenced by the observation of the suppression of the HS peak with applied magnetic field., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, submitted to Phys.
