We conducted measurements of $K^- + {^3{\rm He}} \to \pi \!Y \!N + N'$ reactions using a $1~{\rm GeV}/c$ $K^-$-beam, with the objective of understanding the broad decay width of $\bar{K} \!N \!N$ (approximately twice as broad as that of $\Lambda(1405)$ considered to be the $\bar{K} \!N$ quasi-bound state). We successfully reproduced distributions of the $\pi \! Y \! N$ invariant mass and momentum transfer for $\pi \! Y \! N$ using model fitting functions for $\bar{K} \!N \!N$ formation and quasi-free $\bar{K}$ absorption (${\rm QF}_{\bar{K}-{\rm abs}}$) processes. The model can describe the experimental data quite well, and four $\bar{K} \! N \! N \to \pi \! Y \! N $ cross-sections were obtained. The results indicate that mesonic decay is the dominant decay branch of $\bar{K} \! N \! N$. The results also suggest that $\Gamma_{\pi \Lambda N} \sim \Gamma_{\pi \Sigma N}$, which indicates that the $I_{\bar{K} \! N}=1$ absorption channel, in addition to the $I_{\bar{K} \! N}=0$ absorption channel, substantially contribute to the $\bar{K} \! N \! N$ decay, making the $\bar{K} \! N \! N$ state approximately twice as unstable as $\Lambda$(1405).

We measured a set of $\pi^\pm\Sigma^\mp$, $\pi^0\Sigma^0$, and $\pi^-\Sigma^0$ invariant mass spectra below and above the $\bar{K}N$ mass threshold in $K^-$-induced reactions on deuteron. We deduced the $S$-wave $\bar{K}N\rightarrow\pi\Sigma$ and $\bar{K}N\rightarrow\bar{K}N$ scattering amplitudes in the isospin 0 channel in the framework of a $\bar{K}N$ and $\pi\Sigma$ coupled channel. We find that a resonance pole corresponding to $\Lambda(1405)$ is located at 1417.7$^{+6.0}_{-7.4}$(fitting errors)$^{+1.1}_{-1.0}$(systematic errors) + $[-26.1^{+6.0}_{-7.9}$(fitting errors)$^{+1.7}_{-2.0}$(systematic errors)]$i$ MeV/$c^2$, closer to the $\bar{K}N$ mass threshold than the value determined by the Particle Data Group., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures

$\bar K$-nuclear bound systems, kaonic nuclei, have been widely discussed as products of the strongly attractive $\bar K N$ interaction in $I = 0$ channels. Recently, we demonstrated that kaonic nuclei can be produced via in-flight $(K^-,N)$ reactions using the low-momentum DC kaon beam at the J-PARC E15 experiment. We observed the simplest kaonic nuclei, $K^-pp$, having a much deeper binding energy than normal nuclei. For further studies, we have proposed a series of experimental programs for the systematic investigation of light kaonic nuclei, from $\bar K N$ ($\Lambda(1405)$) to $\bar K NNNN$. We have performed an exclusive measurement of the $K^{-}+\! ~^{3}{\rm He} \to \Lambda pn$ reaction at an incident kaon momentum of $1\ {\rm GeV}/c$.In the $\Lambda p$ invariant mass spectrum, a clear peak was observed below the mass threshold of $\bar{K}\!+\!N\!+\!N$, as a signal of the kaonic nuclear bound state, $\bar{K}NN$.The binding energy, decay width, and $S$-wave Gaussian reaction form-factor of this state were observed to be $B_{K} = 42\pm3({\rm stat.})^{+3}_{-4}({\rm syst.})\ {\rm MeV}$, $\Gamma_{K} = 100\pm7({\rm stat.})^{+19}_{-9}({\rm syst.})\ {\rm MeV}$, and $Q_{K} = 383\pm11({\rm stat.})^{+4}_{-1}({\rm syst.})\ {\rm MeV}/c$, respectively. The total production cross-section of $\bar{K}NN$, determined by its $\Lambda p$ decay mode, was $\sigma^{tot}_{K} \cdot BR_{\Lambda p} = 9.3\pm0.8({\rm stat.})^{+1.4}_{-1.0}({\rm syst.})\ \mu{\rm b}$.We estimated the branching ratio of the $\bar{K}NN$ state to the $\Lambda p$ and $\Sigma^{0}p$ decay modes as $BR_{\Lambda p}/BR_{\Sigma^{0}p} \sim 1.7$, by assuming that the physical processes leading to the $\Sigma N\!N$ final states are analogous to those of $\Lambda pn$., Comment: 13 pages, 12 figures

We observed a distinct peak in the $\Lambda p$ invariant mass spectrum of $^{3}{\rm He}(K^-, \, \Lambda p)n$, well below the mass threshold of $m_K + 2 m_p$. By selecting a relatively large momentum-transfer region $q = 350 \sim 650$ MeV/$c$, one can clearly separate the peak from the quasi-free process, $\overline{K}N \rightarrow \overline{K}N$ followed by the non-resonant absorption by the two spectator-nucleons $\overline{K}NN \rightarrow \Lambda N $. We found that the simplest fit to the observed peak gives us a Breit-Wigner pole position at $B_{\rm {\it Kpp}} = 47 \pm 3 \, (stat.) \,^{+3}_{-6} \,(sys.)$ MeV having a width $\Gamma_{\rm {\it Kpp}} = 115 \pm 7 \, (stat.) \,^{+10}_{-9} \,(sys.)$ MeV, and the $S$-wave Gaussian reaction form-factor parameter $Q_{\rm {\it Kpp}} = 381 \pm 14 \, (stat.)\,^{+57}_{-0} \,(sys.)$ MeV/$c$, as a new form of the nuclear bound system with strangeness -- "$K^-pp$"., Comment: 17 pages, 4 figures

To search for an S= -1 di-baryonic state which decays to $\Lambda p$, the $ {\rm{}^3He}(K^-,\Lambda p)n_{missing}$ reaction was studied at 1.0 GeV/$c$. Unobserved neutrons were kinematically identified from the missing mass $M_X$ of the $ {\rm{}^3He}(K^-,\Lambda p)X$ reaction in order to have a large acceptance for the $\Lambda pn$ final state. The observed $\Lambda p n$ events, distributed widely over the kinematically allowed region of the Dalitz plot, establish that the major component comes from a three nucleon absorption process. A concentration of events at a specific neutron kinetic energy was observed in a region of low momentum transfer to the $\Lambda p$. To account for the observed peak structure, the simplest S-wave pole was assumed to exist in the reaction channel, having Breit-Wigner form in energy and with a Gaussian form-factor. A minimum $\chi^2$ method was applied to deduce its mass $M_X\ =$ 2355 $ ^{+ 6}_{ - 8}$ (stat.) $ \pm 12$ (syst.) MeV/c$^2$, and decay-width $\Gamma_X\ = $ 110 $ ^{+ 19}_{ - 17}$ (stat.) $ \pm 27$ (syst.) MeV/c$^2$, respectively. The form factor parameter $Q_X \sim$ 400 MeV/$c$ implies that the range of interaction is about 0.5, Comment: 12pages, 8 figures

Twelve high schools in Japan (of which six are in Fukushima Prefecture), four in France, eight in Poland and two in Belarus cooperated in the measurement and comparison of individual external doses in 2014. In total 216 high-school students and teachers participated in the study. Each participant wore an electronic personal dosimeter "D-shuttle" for two weeks, and kept a journal of his/her whereabouts and activities. The distributions of annual external doses estimated for each region overlap with each other, demonstrating that the personal external individual doses in locations where residence is currently allowed in Fukushima Prefecture and in Belarus are well within the range of estimated annual doses due to the background radiation level of other regions/countries.

Emission of muonium ($\mu^+e^-$) atoms from a laser-processed aerogel surface into vacuum was studied for the first time. Laser ablation was used to create hole-like regions with diameter of about 270$~\mu$m in a triangular pattern with hole separation in the range of 300--500$~\mu$m. The emission probability for the laser-processed aerogel sample is at least eight times higher than for a uniform one.

Emission of muonium ($\mu^{+}e^{-}$) atoms from silica aerogel into vacuum was observed. Characteristics of muonium emission were established from silica aerogel samples with densities in the range from 29 mg cm$^{-3}$ to 178 mg cm$^{-3}$. Spectra of muonium decay times correlated with distances from the aerogel surfaces, which are sensitive to the speed distributions, follow general features expected from a diffusion process, while small deviations from a simple room-temperature thermal diffusion model are identified. The sectoral synchronization observed for the Japanese business cycle in the Indices of Industrial Production data is an example of synchronization. The stability of this synchronization under a shock, e.g., fluctuation of supply or demand, is a matter of interest in physics and economics. We consider an economic system made up of industry sectors and goods markets in order to analyze the sectoral synchronization observed for the Japanese business cycle. A coupled oscillator model that exhibits synchronization is developed based on the Kuramoto model with inertia by adding goods markets, and analytic solutions of the stationary state and the coupling strength are obtained. We simulate the effects on synchronization of a sectoral shock for systems with different price elasticities and the coupling strengths. Synchronization is reproduced as an equilibrium solution in a nearest neighbor graph. Analysis of the order parameters shows that the synchronization is stable for a finite elasticity, whereas the synchronization is broken and the oscillators behave like a giant oscillator with a certain frequency additional to the common frequency for zero elasticity., Comment: Presented at Econophysics 2011, the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics at Kyoto University. Significant deviation of the anomalous magnetic moment value (g-2) observed by the muon g-2 experiment should be confirmed by the other experiment. This value is experimentally determined by frequency difference observed by the g-2/EDM experiment and muon magnetic moment observed by the muonium hyperfine splitting experiment (MuHFS). Both two experiments are planned to be performed at H-line of the J-PARC/MUSE under construction. We optimized the beamline layout for each experiment with G4beamline. For both experiments, statistics is the most important, thus beamline transmission efficiency should be maximized. Especially for the g-2, the purpose of the present effort is to compromise between small beam size and small leakage field. For the MuHFS, it is crucial to minimize leakage field at around final focus position, and to get all stopped muons within good field region of MuHFS magnet. The response of silicon drift detectors (SDDs), which were mounted together with their preamplifiers inside a vacuum chamber, was studied in a temperature range from 100 K to 200 K. In particular, the energy resolution could be stabilized to about 150 eV at 6 keV between 130 K and 200 K, while the time resolution shows a temperature dependence of T^3 in this temperature range. To keep a variation of the X-ray peak positions within 1 eV, it is necessary to operate the preamplifier within a stability of 1 K around 280 K. A detailed investigation of this temperature influences on SDDs and preamplifiers is presented.

Localized single-particle potentials for all octet baryons, $N$, $\Lambda$, $\Sigma$, and $\Xi$, in finite nuclei, $^{12}$C, $^{16}$O, $^{28}$Si, $^{40}$Ca, $^{56}$Fe, and $^{90}$Zr, are calculated using the quark-model baryon-baryon interactions. $G$-matrices evaluated in symmetric nuclear matter in the lowest order Brueckner theory are applied to finite nuclei in local density approximation. Non-local potentials are localized by a zero-momentum Wigner transformation. Empirical single-particle properties of the nucleon and the $\Lambda$ hyperon in nuclear medium have been known to be explained semi-quantitatively in the LOBT framework. Attention is focused in the present consideration on predictions for the $\Sigma$ and $\Xi$ hyperons. The unified description for the octet baryon-baryon interactions by the SU$_6$ quark-model enables us to obtain less ambiguous extrapolation to the $S=-1$ and $S=-2$ sectors based on the knowledge in the $NN$ sector than other potential models. The $\Sigma$ mean field is shown to be weakly attractive at the surface, but turns to be repulsive inside, which is consistent with the experimental evidence. The $\Xi$ hyperon s.p. potential is also attractive at the nuclear surface region, and inside fluctuates around zero. Hence $\Xi$ hypernuclear bound states are unlikely. We also evaluate energy shifts of the $\Sigma^-$ and $\Xi^-$ atomic levels in $^{28}$Si and $^{56}$Fe, using the calculated s.p. potentials.

Heterogeneity of economic agents is emphasized in a new trend of macroeconomics. Accordingly the new emerging discipline requires one to replace the production function, one of key ideas in the conventional economics, by an alternative which can take an explicit account of distribution of firms' production activities. In this paper we propose a new idea referred to as production copula; a copula is an analytic means for modeling dependence among variables. Such a production copula predicts value added yielded by firms with given capital and labor in a probabilistic way. It is thereby in sharp contrast to the production function where the output of firms is completely deterministic. We demonstrate empirical construction of a production copula using financial data of listed firms in Japan. Analysis of the data shows that there are significant correlations among their capital, labor and value added and confirms that the values added are too widely scattered to be represented by a production function. We employ four models for the production copula, that is, trivariate versions of Frank, Gumbel and survival Clayton and non-exchangeable trivariate Gumbel; the last one works best., Comment: 27pages, including 15 figures and 4 tables. An analysis of the Japanese credit market in 2004 between banks and quoted firms is done in this paper using the tools of the networks theory. It can be pointed out that: (i) a backbone of the credit channel emerges, where some links play a crucial role; (ii) big banks privilege long-term contracts; the "minimal spanning trees" (iii) disclose a highly hierarchical backbone, where the central positions are occupied by the largest banks, and emphasize (iv) a strong geographical characterization, while (v) the clusters of firms do not have specific common properties. We reexamine the spin-orbit splitting of 9 Lambda Be excited states in terms of the SU_6 quark-model baryon-baryon interaction. The previous folding procedure to generate the Lambda alpha spin-orbit potential from the quark-model Lambda N LS interaction kernel predicted three to five times larger values for Delta E_{ell s}=E_x(3/2^+)-E_x(5/2^+) in the model FSS and fss2. This time, we calculate Lambda alpha LS Born kernel, starting from the LS components of the nuclear-matter G-matrix for the Lambda hyperon. This framework makes it possible to take full account of an important P-wave Lambda N - Sigma N coupling through the antisymmetric LS^{(-)} force involved in the Fermi-Breit interaction. We find that the experimental value, Delta E^{exp}_{ell s}=43 pm 5 keV, is reproduced by the quark-model G-matrix LS interaction with a Fermi-momentum around k_F=1.0 fm^{-1}, when the model FSS is used in the energy-independent renormalized RGM formalism., Comment: 5 pages, no figures

Equivalent interactions in a low-momentum space for the $\Lambda N$, $\Sigma N$ and $\Xi N$ interactions are calculated, using the SU$_6$ quark model potential as well as the Nijmegen OBEP model as the input bare interaction. Because the two-body scattering data has not been accumulated sufficiently to determine the hyperon-nucleon interactions unambiguously, the construction of the potential even in low-energy regions has to rely on a theoretical model. The equivalent interaction after removing high-momentum components is still model dependent. Because this model dependence reflects the character of the underlying potential model, it is instructive for better understanding of baryon-baryon interactions in the strangeness sector to study the low-momentum space $YN$ interactions., Comment: 9 pages, 13 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Previously we calculated the binding energies of the triton and hypertriton, using an SU_6 quark-model interaction derived from a resonating-group method of two baryon clusters. In contrast to the previous calculations employing the energy-dependent interaction kernel, we present new results using a renormalized interaction, which is now energy independent and reserves all the two-baryon data. The new binding energies are slightly smaller than the previous values. In particular the triton binding energy turns out to be 8.14 MeV with a charge-dependence correction of the two-nucleon force, 190 keV, being included. This indicates that about 350 keV is left for the energy which is to be accounted for by three-body forces., Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure

We calculate n alpha phase-shifts and scattering observables in the resonating-group method, using the nuclear-matter G-matrix of an SU_6 quark-model NN interaction. The G-matrix is generated in the recent energy-independent procedure of the quark-model NN interaction with the continuous prescription for intermediate spectra, by assuming an appropriate Fermi momentum k_F=1.2 fm^-1. The n alpha RGM interaction kernels are evaluated with explicit treatments of the nonlocality and momentum dependence of partial-wave G-matrix components. The momentum dependence of the G-matrix components is different for each of the nucleon-exchange and interaction types. Without introducing any artificial parameters except for k_F, the central and spin-orbit components of the n alpha Born kernel are found to have reasonable strengths under the assumption of a rigid translationally invariant shell-model wave function of the alpha-cluster. The characteristic behaviors of three different exchange terms, corresponding to knockout, heavy-particle pickup and nucleon-rearrangement processes, are essentially the same between the case of previous local effective NN forces and the case of nonlocal G-matrix NN interactions., Comment: 26 pages, 8 figures

Local $\alpha \alpha$ potentials fail to describe $^{12}$C as a $3\alpha$ system. Nonlocal $\alpha \alpha$ potentials that renormalize the energy-dependent kernel of the resonating group method allow interpreting simultaneously the ground state and $0^+_2$ resonance of $^{12}$C as $3\alpha$ states. A comparison with fully microscopic calculations provides a measure of the importance of three-cluster exchanges in those states., Comment: The tar.gz file has 1 tex file and 1 eps file

$(\pi^-,K^+)$ hyperon production inclusive spectra with $p_\pi =1.2$ GeV/c measured at KEK on $^{12}$C and $^{28}$Si are analyzed by the semiclassical distorted wave model. Single-particle wave functions of the target nucleus are treated using Wigner transformation. This method is able to account for the energy and angular dependences of the elementary process in nuclear medium without introducing the factorization approximation frequently employed. Calculations of the $(\pi^+,K^+)$ $\Lambda$ formation process, for which there is no free parameter since the $\Lambda$ s.p. potential is known, demonstrate that the present model is useful to describe inclusive spectra. It is shown that in order to account for the experimental data of the $\Sigma^-$ formation spectra a repulsive $\Sigma$-nucleus potential is necessary whose magnitude is not so strong as around 100 MeV previously suggested., Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, accepted in Phys. We calculate Lambda alpha, Sigma alpha and Xi alpha potentials from the nuclear-matter G-matrices of the SU6 quark-model baryon-baryon interaction. The alpha-cluster wave function is assumed to be a simple harmonic-oscillator shell-model wave function. A new method is proposed to derive the direct and knock-on terms of the interaction Born kernel from the hyperon-nucleon G-matrices, with explicit treatments of the nonlocality and the center-of-mass motion between the hyperon and alpha. We find that the SU6 quark-model baryon-baryon interactions, FSS and fss2, yield a reasonable bound-state energy for 5 He Lambda, -3.18 -- -3.62 MeV, in spite of the fact that they give relatively large depths for the Lambda single-particle potentials, 46 -- 48 MeV, in symmetric nuclear matter. An equivalent local potential derived from the Wigner transform of the nonlocal Lambda alpha kernel shows a strong energy dependence for the incident Lambda-particle, indicating the importance of the strangeness-exchange process in the original hyperon-nucleon interaction. The Sigma alpha and Xi alpha potentials are repulsive with the attractive isospin I=1/2 (Sigma alpha) and I=0 (Xi alpha) components and the repulsive I=3/2 (Sigma alpha) and I=1 (Xi alpha) components., Comment: 34 pages, 16 figures

Interactions between the octet-baryons (B8) in the spin-flavor SU6 quark model are investigated in a unified coupled-channels framework of the resonating-group method (RGM). The interaction Hamiltonian for quarks consists of the phenomenological confinement potential, the color Fermi-Breit interaction with explicit flavor-symmetry breaking (FSB), and effective-meson exchange potentials of scalar-, pseudoscalar- and vector-meson types. The model parameters are determined to reproduce the properties of the nucleon-nucleon (NN) system and the low-energy cross section data for the hyperon-nucleon (YN) interactions. The NN phase shifts and many observables for the NN and YN interactions are nicely reproduced. Properties of these B8 B8 interactions are analyzed through the G-matrix calculations. The B8 B8 interactions are then applied to some of few-baryon systems and light Lambda-hypernuclei in a three-cluster Faddeev formalism using two-cluster RGM kernels. An application to the three-nucleon system shows that the quark-model NN interaction can give a sufficient triton binding energy with little room for the three-nucleon force. The hypertriton Faddeev calculation indicates that the attraction of the Lambda N interaction in the 1S0 state is only slightly more attractive than that in the 3S1 state. In the application to the alpha alpha Lambda system, the energy spectrum of 9 Lambda Be is well reproduced using the alpha alpha RGM kernel. The very small spin-orbit splitting of the 9 Lambda Be excited states is also discussed. In the Lambda Lambda alpha Faddeev calculation, the NAGARA event for 6 Lambda Lambda He is found to be consistent with the quark-model Lambda Lambda interaction., Comment: 77 pages, 33 figures, review article to be published in Prog. The ground and excited 0$^+$ states of $^{12}$C are investigated in a 3$\alpha$ macroscopic model using the deep potential of Buck, Friedrich and Wheatley. The elimination of forbidden states is performed either by constructing the allowed state space explicitly or by using the orthogonalizing pseudopotential. The well-known enigmatic behavior of the latter approach is resolved. It is safe to define the forbidden states referring to the underlying microscopic model., Comment: 18pages, 2figures

Semiclassical distorted wave model is developed to describe $(\pi^-,K^+)$ inclusive spectra related to $\Sigma^-$-formation measured at KEK with $p_\pi =1.2$ GeV/c. The shape and magnitude of the spectrum on $^{28}$Si target are satisfactorily reproduced by a repulsive $\Sigma$-nucleus potential, the strength of which is of the order of 30$\sim$50 MeV. This strength is not so strong as more than 100 MeV suggested by the estimation presented in the report of the experiment., Comment: 6 pages, to be published in Prog. Theor. Phys

The previous Faddeev calculation of the two-alpha plus Lambda system for 9 Lambda Be is extended to incorporate the spin-orbit components of the SU_6 quark-model baryon-baryon interactions. We employ the Born kernel of the quark-model Lambda N LS interaction, and generate the spin-orbit component of the Lambda alpha potential by the alpha-cluster folding. The Faddeev calculation in the jj-coupling scheme implies that the direct use of the quark-model Born kernel for the Lambda N LS component is not good enough to reproduce the small experimental value Delta E^exp_{ls}=43 +- 5 keV for the 5/2^+ - 3/2^+ splitting. This procedure predicts three to five times larger values in the model FSS and fss2. The spin-orbit contribution from the effective meson-exchange potentials in fss2 is argued to be unfavorable to the small ls splitting, through the analysis of the Scheerbaum factors for the single-particle spin-orbit potentials calculated in the G-matrix formalism., Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure

Quark-model hyperon-nucleon and hyperon-hyperon interactions by the Kyoto-Niigata group are applied to the two-Lambda plus alpha system in a new three-cluster Faddeev formalism using two-cluster resonating-group method kernels. The model fss2 gives a reasonable two-Lambda separation energy Delta B_{Lambda Lambda}=1.41 MeV, which is consistent with the recent empirical value, Delta B^{exp}_{Lambda Lambda}=1.01 +/- 0.20 MeV, deduced from the Nagara event. We carry out Faddeev calculations of three-alpha (3 alpha) and two-alpha plus Lambda (alpha alpha Lambda) systems, using two-cluster resonating-group method kernels. The input includes an effective two-nucleon force for the alpha alpha resonating-group method and a new effective Lambda N force for the Lambda alpha interaction. The latter force is a simple two-range Gaussian potential for each spin-singlet and triplet state, generated from the phase-shift behavior of the quark-model hyperon-nucleon interaction, fss2, by using an inversion method based on supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Owing to the exact treatment of the Pauli-forbidden states between the clusters, the present three-cluster Faddeev formalism can describe the mutually related, alpha alpha, 3 alpha and alpha alpha Lambda systems, in terms of a unique set of the baryon-baryon interactions. For the three-range Minnesota force which describes the alpha alpha phase shifts quite accurately, the ground-state and excitation energies of 9Be Lambda are reproduced within 100 - 200 keV accuracy., Comment: 23 pages, one figure, submitted to Phys. The quark-model baryon-baryon interaction fss2, proposed by the Kyoto-Niigata group, is a unified model for the complete baryon octet (B_8=N, Lambda, Sigma and Xi), which is formulated in a framework of the (3q)-(3q) resonating-group method (RGM) using the spin-flavor SU_6 quark-model wave functions and effective meson-exchange potentials at the quark level. Model parameters are determined to reproduce properties of the nucleon-nucleon system and the low-energy cross section data for the hyperon-nucleon scattering. Due to the several improvements including the introduction of vector-meson exchange potentials, fss2 has achieved very accurate description of the NN and YN interactions, comparable to various one-boson exchange potentials. We review the essential features of fss2 and our previous model FSS, and their predictions to few-body systems in confrontation with the available experimental data. Some characteristic features of the B_8 B_8 interactions with the higher strangeness, S=-2, -3, -4, predicted by fss2 are discussed. These quark-model interactions are now applied to realistic calculations of few-body systems in a new three-cluster Faddeev formalism which uses two-cluster RGM kernels. Two different types of orthogonality condition models (OCM) are equivalently formulated in the Faddeev formalism. One is the OCM which uses pairwise orthogonality conditions for the relative motion of clusters, and the other is the one which uses the orthogonalizing pseudo-potential method. By constructing a redundancy-free T-matrix, one can exactly eliminate the redundant components of the total wave function for the harmonic-oscillator Pauli-forbidden states, without introducing any limiting procedure. Rearrangement effects in light hypernuclei are investigated in the framework of the Brueckner theory. We can estimate without detailed numerical calculations that the energy of the $\alpha$-core is reduced by more than 2.5 MeV when the $\Lambda$ adheres to $^4$He to form $^5_\Lambda$He. Similar assessment of rearrangement contributions is essential to deduce the strength of $\Lambda\Lambda$ interaction from experimentally observed $\Delta B_{\Lambda\Lambda}$. The recently observed experimental value of $\sim$ 1 MeV for the $\Delta B_{\Lambda\Lambda}$ of \hll suggests that the matrix element of $<\Lambda \Lambda |v|\Lambda \Lambda>$ in \hll is around -2 MeV., Comment: 7 pages, to appear in Phys. Properties of the three-nucleon bound state are examined in the Faddeev formalism, in which the quark-model nucleon-nucleon interaction is explicitly incorporated to calculate the off-shell T-matrix. The most recent version, fss2, of the Kyoto-Niigata quark-model potential yields the ground-state energy ^3H=-8.514 MeV in the 34 channel calculation, when the np interaction is used for the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The charge root mean square radii of the ^3H and ^3He are 1.72 fm and 1.90 fm, respectively, including the finite size correction of the nucleons. These values are the closest to the experiments among many results obtained by detailed Faddeev calculations employing modern realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction models., Comment: 10 pages, no figures

The 3 alpha Faddeev equation using 2 alpha RGM kernel involves redundant components whose contribution to the total wave function completely cancels out. We propose a practical method to solve this Faddeev equation, by eliminating the admixture of such redundant components. A complete equivalence between the present Faddeev approach and a variational approach using the translationally invariant harmonic-oscillator basis is numerically shown with respect to the 3 alpha bound state corresponding to the ground state of 12C., Comment: 8 pages, no figure
