Cavernous hemangioma is a congenital, benign vascular tumor that occurs in the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Testicular cavernous hemangioma is extremely rare, mostly occurring during childhood or adolescence. Testicular cavernous hemangioma is a benign tumor that appears as a slowly growing painless mass. In rare cases, it may be associated with acute testicular infarction or torsion with acute onset. We herein report the case of a patient with an atypical presentation of testicular cavernous hemangioma, characterized by acute painful testicular enlargement triggered by minor injury. The patient underwent right radical orchiectomy, and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of testicular cavernous hemangioma. Although this is a rare tumor, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of testicular tumors.

The aim of the study was to assess the association between total flavonoids/flavonoid subclasses intake and prostate cancer risk. Several databases were searched to select eligible studies with predefined criteria. Risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used as the effect size. Publication bias and sensitivity analysis were performed. A total of five studies including four prospective cohort studies and one case-control study were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled result demonstrated a significantly increased risk of prostate cancer with higher intake of total flavonoids (RR = 1.12, 95% CI: 1.02-1.23, P = 0.013). However, sensitivity analysis indicated that there lacked a significant association after removing the study of Wang et al. (RR = 1.17, 95% CI: 0.94-1.46). Subgroup analysis stratified by flavonoids subclasses found that higher intake of anthocyanidins and flavan-3-ols were significantly associated with increased prostate cancer risk (RR = 1.12, 95% CI: 1.03-1.21, P = 0.011; RR = 1.21, 95% CI: 1.10-1.32, P

To screen for marker genes associated with to the metastasis of prostate cancer (PCa), in silico analysis of the Gene Expression Omnibus dataset GSE27616, which included 4 metastatic and 5 localized PCa tissue samples, was performed. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified. Their potential functions were identified by Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Gene Genomes pathway enrichment analyses. Furthermore, protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks for DEGs were constructed using Cytoscape. Module analysis of the PPI networks was performed with Cluster ONE. A total of 561 DEGs were screened, including 208 upregulated and 353 downregulated genes. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and cluster of differentiation 4 (CD4) exhibited the highest degrees of connectivity in the PPI networks for up- and down-regulated DEGs, respectively. The DEGs in module A, including CD58, 2, 4 and major histocompatibility complex, class II DP-β1 were enriched in 'cell adhesion molecules'. Anaphase promoting complex subunit 4, cell division cycle 20 and cell division cycle 16 in module B were primarily enriched in 'cell cycle'. The DEGs, including CD4, PCNA and baculoviral IAP repeat containing 5, may have critical roles in PCa metastasis and could thus be used as novel biomarker candidates for metastatic PCa. However, further studies are required to verify these results.

The clock synchronization technologies applied to controlling layer and primary equipment like intelligent switchgear of processing layer in intelligent substation are analyzed in this paper. IEEE1588 message timing mode, which can be accurate to nanosecond, is used as the mode of substation system, in order to fulfill the real-time and accuracy requirements of intelligent switchgears and remote control part, meanwhile it provides technical support for high precision real-time data acquisition. A synchronization scheme that uses ARM series STM32F407 chip with hardware assistance of PHY chip DP83640 is also proposed. A precision test on the scheme is conducted, it is corrected and testified.

This paper proposes an improved method to measure vacuum online which includes signal processing circuit and control algorithm. Firstly, the equivalent capacitance, between vacuum circuit breaker contacts and the shielding cover, is analyzed by Ansoft software. The differences of equivalent capacitance between the condition of separation of contacts and the condition of contacts closure, are researched at the same time. Secondly, The signal processing circuit is built in TINA software, and the feasibility of the signal processing circuit is proved by experiments. Thirdly, using the measurement method to build online vacuum monitoring platform, the results are compared by controlling each part of the circuit and algorithm. It verifies the necessity of each part in the design. Finally, The stability test shows that in the range of the degree of vacuum 9 × 10−3 Pa to 2 Pa, compared with the direct measurement result, the signal processing method can increase the measuring accuracy, so as to meet the requirements of measuring vacuum circuit breakers' inner vacuum pressure on-line.

Mesoporous silica-coated superparamagnetic particles were prepared via pseudomorphic transformation of pre-made amorphous silica-coated Fe3O4–polymer composite particles using n-cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene (MES) as template. The mesoporous particles presented almost the same size, shape, and magnetic property as the original amorphous particles but an ordered mesoporous shell with wormhole-like pore structure. The pore size of the shells increased from 2.4 to 3.1 and 4.2 nm as the molar ratio of MES/CTAB increased from 0 to 1.0 and 1.5. DNA extraction experiments showed the mesoporous particles were qualified for purification of plasmid DNA from bacterial lysate.

Adenomatoid tumors (AT) are the most common paratesticular neoplasms and account for approximately 30% of all paratesticular masses. Most of them occur in the third or fourth decade and present as well-defined firm and painless masses. We report here a case of adenomatoid tumor from tunica albuginea. This patient is a 12-year-old boy with left testicular pain for 6 months. Scrotal ultrasonography revealed a solid mass of paratesticular origin. The histology and immunohistochemistry confirmed the final diagnosis. A right tumor resection was performed. Because of its rarity, the clinical and histopathologic appearance is seldom illustrated. Here we present a case report and a comprehensive literature review with the objective of providing useful information on this entity.

Aphallia is a rare urogenital anomaly with an estimated incidence of 1 in 10-30 million. We report a case of aphallia in a male, who had two well-developed testicles, but lacked a penis. Digital rectal examination revealed the urethral meatus was opening to the anterior wall of the rectum posterior to the sphincter. Magnetic resonance imaging showed complete absence of penile development with normal testis and scrotum, as well as the urethra running posterior to the prostatic apex and corpus spongiosum in sagittal and coronal T2-weighted images. Chromosome karyotype confirmed 46,XY, and the polymerase chain reaction method tested no azoospermic factor (AZF) or sex-determining region Y (SRY) gene deletion. Taking into account the physical and psychosocial conditions, seeking a female without sexual desire as his wife was recommended.

Spermatocytic seminoma (SS) is a rare testicular neoplasm characterized by a palpable, painless, slowly enlarging mass in the testis. Even more rare is a synchronous bilateral presentation. Only eight cases of bilateral SS have been reported in the literature, of which three cases were present with synchronous testis enlargement, and five were sequential. Here, we report an additional case of synchronous bilateral SS and present a comprehensive relevant literature review concerning clinical features, histopathology, and treatment.

The crystal structure and microstructure of Sm 2 (Fe 1 − x Ga x ) 17 ( x = 0−0.12) have been studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analysis techniques. Results indicate that the alloys have a single phase with Th 2 Zn 17 -type structure for x ⩽ 0.02; when x = 0.05−0.12, two phases, namely Sm 2 (Fe, Ga) 17 and (Ga, Fe)Sm, exist and, the higher the gallium substitution the more (Ga, Fe)Sm phase occurs. The lattice parameters increase with Ga addition. The Curie temperature and saturation magnetization of the nitrides decrease with increasing gallium substitution; however, the anisotropy field reaches a maximum value of 18.4 T for x = 0.02 at room temperature. The hard magnetic properties of the nitrides decrease also except for x = 0.02. The optimum hard magnetic properties obtained are B r = 12.3 kG, i H c = 10.0 kOe and ( BH ) max = 26.2 MG Oe with x = 0.02. The thermomagnetic curves measured of all the nitrides have shown that the onset decomposition temperatures are 760–780 K, which are slightly affected by gallium substitution.

High coercivity, high remanence, and high energy product (NdDy)2(FeNb)14B–α–Fe nanocrystalline alloys containing 0 to 30 wt % α–Fe have been prepared by melt spinning and subsequent annealing. The best magnetic properties of remanence (Br), coercivity (Hci), and maximum energy product [(BH)max] are 1.02 T, 702 kA/m, and 134 kJ/m3, respectively, for Nd8.16Dy1Fe85.26Nb1B4.58. The microstructure consists of a two phase nanocomposite of hard magnetic (NdDy)2(FeNb)14B and soft magnetic α–Fe with an average size of about 30 nm. These small dimensions allow effective exchange coupling between hard and soft magnetic grains and result in the simultaneous enhancement of Br, Hci, and (BH)max. A systematic study on the effect of annealing temperature and time on the microstructure and magnetic properties has been carried out.

The intrinsic and hard magnetic properties of Sm 2 (Fe 1 − x Al x ) 17 nitrides were investigated. The Curie temperature and saturation magnetization decrease linearly with increasing Al concentration, as also does the anisotropy field at room temperature. The X-ray diffraction patterns have shown that all the samples exist in a nearly single phase with Th 2 Zn 17 -type structure for x up to 0.12. The lattice parameters increase with the substitution of Al for Fe atoms. The hard magnetic properties of the nitrides obtained indicate that the addition of Al has an unfavorable effect. The onset decomposition temperature of all nitrides derived from the thermomagnetic curves is around 750 K, implying that Al substitution could not improve the thermal stability of 2:17 nitrides.
