In the present era of advanced medical technology, there has been a significant increase in the utilization of wireless-based implantable medical devices (IMDs) in various biomedical applications, including health diagnosis, monitoring, recording, treatment, and other clinical concerns. It is essential to closely examine the research trends in wireless IMD topics to understand their growth trajectory. This can be achieved through the utilization of bibliometric reviews. While there are numerous experimental studies and survey papers on the topic, there is a dearth of review papers that utilize a bibliometric approach. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to identify emerging research trends in wireless IMDs for biomedical applications for the first time. An analysis was conducted on 1,650 articles retrieved from the Scopus database from its inception until September 2023. The study used tools such as VOS Viewer to measure performance and science map parameters, and Tableau Cloud to visually enhance the analysis process. This research endeavor allowed us to analyze historical trends, influential papers, top journals, institutions, countries, and authors within this field. The top three influential journals in this field are IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Antenna and Propagation, and IEEE access. The National University of Singapore is the most productive institution in terms of overall publications. The United States, China, and India make significant contributions to overall publications. Implantable medical devices (IMDs) play a crucial role in improving individuals' well-being and ensuring their safety by providing real-time health data monitoring for recovery. The use of energy harvesting (EH) technology has become increasingly popular among researchers because it offers the potential to extend the battery life of IMDs and reduce their weight. This study successfully examined the expansion of EH in the field of IMDs, the distribution of publications across different countries, and the identification of the most influential authors for potential research collaborations. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to evaluate two metrics: performance and science mapping. Data was collected from the Scopus database from the initial publications until October 2023, encompassing 250 articles published in Englishlanguage journals. The titles, keywords, and abstracts of these publications were analyzed and interpreted using VOS Viewer (version 1.6.19). Furthermore, network analysis using VOS Viewer enabled the identification of key research clusters. The findings reveal a continuous increase in EH for research on infectious and parasitic diseases over the 15-year period from 2008 to 2023. The United States and the University of Bern are recognized as the leading contributors to this field, based on their country and institutional contributions, respectively. The author with the most published papers and citations hails from China. Additionally, this study identifies several opportunities for collaboration with countries, institutions, authors, and research hotspots in EH for IMDs that benefit the reader. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to examine research on in-body communication. This study aimed to assess the research growth in different countries, identify influential authors for potential international collaboration, investigate research challenges, and explore future prospects for in-body communication. A total of 148 articles written in English from journals and conference proceedings were gathered from the Scopus database. These articles cover the period from 2006 until August 2023. VOS Viewer 1.6.19 and Tableau Cloud were used to analyze the data. The analysis reveals that research on in-body communication has shown fluctuations but overall tends to increase. The United States, Finland, and Japan were identified as the leading countries (top three) in terms of publication quantity, while researchers from Norway, Finland, and Morocco received the highest number of citations. The University of Oulu in Finland has emerged as a productive institution in this field. Collaborative research opportunities exist with the countries mentioned above or with authors who have expertise in this topic. The dominant research topic within this field pertains to ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. One of the future challenges in this field is the exploration of optical wireless communication (OWC) as a potential communication medium for in-body devices, such as electronic devices implanted in the human body. This includes improving performance to meet the requirements for in-body communication devices. This study was conducted to identify the level of Sternberg's thinking skills based on the perceptions of vocational college students along with students' demographic factors. The research design employed in this study is quantitative, utilizing a survey method. A total of 193 vocational college students from Likas and Miri Vocational Colleges were randomly selected as the study sample. A questionnaire in the form of a 'google form' was used for data collection and served as the research instrument. The data was analysed using SPSS software. Based on the analytical dimensions of creativity and practicality, the findings of the study indicate that the majority of students perceive themselves to have a high level of Sternberg's Thinking Skills. Overall, students demonstrate mastery of Sternberg's thinking skills by actively controlling cognitive regulation and possessing cognitive knowledge in problem-solving methods to achieve better learning goals. The summary of the findings from this study indicates that the level of Sternberg's thinking skills based on the perceptions of vocational college students is high across all elements, namely analytical, practical, and creative. Meanwhile, concerning demographic differences, significant variations were found in terms of gender, field of study, and academic achievement of individual students. This suggests that technical students are highly suitable for applying these Sternberg's Thinking Skills in the teaching and learning process. The information obtained from the findings of this study is crucial for educators to gain a deeper understanding of students and to choose suitable teaching approaches in conducting effective teaching and learning processes. It is undeniable that educators are one of the critical factors in determining the success of students, especially in mastering Sternberg's thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. Smart home manufacturers widely produce Wireless Lamp Socket and Power Plug devices, which offer various features ranging from basic on/off control to more complex functionalities such as monitoring energy consumption, power losses, and harmonics. However, these devices tend to be expensive, as indicated by market surveys. To address this issue, the current study aimed to develop low-cost wireless control nodes for smart homes that operate using relays. The two nodes consisted of lamp socket and power plug built with lowcost electronic components, including a Wi-Fi built-in Microcontroller ESP8266 (Wemos D1 mini model) as the backbone to create ESP-Mesh wireless network and to provide control ports for high/low logic, a relay module, an AC-to-DC converter module, and terminals (E27 screw for lamp socket node and C-type plug for the power plug node). This paper primarily focuses on the hardware aspects. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the nodes, the following tests are conducted: (1) product demonstration to assess the product functions, (2) power measurement in idle and active conditions, (3) ESP-Mesh connection testing, and (4) RSSI measurement. Functional testing is done using a smartphone with the UPISmartHome version 2.0 Android application, which successfully controlled the nodes wirelessly. In idle conditions, power plug and lamp socket nodes consume 426.36 mWatt and 418.275 mWatt of power, respectively. Further, in active conditions, power plug and lamp socket nodes consume 435.704 mWatt and 440.583 mWatt of power, respectively. RSSI testing results show that both nodes can be controlled within an optimal range of 60 meters (with reference to RSSI below -85 dBm) without the Internet, utilizing the ESP-Mesh feature of ESP8266. This range is deemed reasonable for smart homes of 21, 36, or 45 square meters. Both nodes could be controlled under the ESP-Mesh network that gets build. Thinking style is one thing that can help students in solving problems by knowing the students' own style. The style of thinking is not an ability but more towards how to use the existing abilities of each individual. Similarly, thinking skills can help students to solve problems and can make students smart in thinking about things. Thinking skills can be formulated as the process of using the mind to find a solution or understanding of something. Thinking skills also allow students to integrate each newly experienced experience into each individual's mind box. The aim of this study was to identify the thinking style patterns and the level of thinking skills between the demographic factors among technical students. The design of this study was descriptive and inferential with a quantitative approach. A total of 273 technical students from the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) were randomly selected as a sample. They consist of Building Construction (BBB), Catering (BBC), Welding and Metal Fabrication (BBD), Electrical and Electronics (BBE), Creative Multimedia (BBF) and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (BBG). A set of modified questionnaires from past studies were used as research instruments. Majority of technical students have a balanced thinking style and follow by critical and creative thinking style. Among the three types of skills, majority technical students have high level of practical thinking skills, followed by creative thinking skills and analytical thinking skills. It is hoped that this study can provide guidance to students, lecturers and institutions to improve teachers' teaching and learning methods and techniques based on students' thinking style and thinking skills.
