Objective To investigate the effect of intraoperative epileptic seizure on postoperative mood and muscle strength during awake anesthesia (AA) for the resection of gliomas. Methods A total of 90 patients with glioma admitted to Xijing Hospital, Air Force Military Medical University of Chinese PLA from September 2020 to September 2022 were collected and divided into general anesthesia group (GA group, n = 30), awake anesthesia without intraoperative epileptic seizure group (AA group, n = 30), and awake anesthesia with intraoperative epileptic seizure group (AA + IE group, n = 30) according to the anesthesia method and the presence of intraoperative epileptic seizure. Patients' mood and muscle strength changes were assessed preoperatively and one week postoperatively by using Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) and muscle strength division method. Results The differences in HAMD score (F = 9.985, P = 0.000) and muscle strength (F = 4.472, P = 0.014) at one week postoperatively were statistically significant among 3 groups. HAMD score was increased in AA group (q = 3.177, P = 0.014) and AA + IE group (q = 9.468, P = 0.000) when compared with GA group. HAMD scores was increased in AA + IE group (q = 6.290, P = 0.003) when compared with AA group. Postoperative muscle strength of AA group (q = 9.172, P = 0.006) and AA + IE group (q = 5.310, P = 0.000) was increased when compared with GA group. Muscle strength of AA + IE group was decreased compared with AA group (q = 3.862, P = 0.007). Conclusions Awake anesthesia can aggravate postoperative depression, but improve muscle strength. Intraoperative epileptic seizure can aggravate postoperative depression and decrease muscle strength. A reasonable preventive treatment plan needs to be developed in advance to reduce the incidence of intraoperative epileptic seizure.

This paper provides an in‐depth study of the winding mechanical properties in generators under rotor interturn short circuit (RISC) cases. Unlike previous studies, this research investigates not only the influence of RISC degrees, but also the RISC positions and the eccentricity on the winding mechanical properties. The electromagnetic force (EF) formulas as well as the electromagnetic‐structure coupling model are first proposed to derive the mechanical winding response characteristics, such as the vibration, deformation, the strain, and the stress. Subsequently, both finite element analysis (FEA) and experimental investigations are conducted to validate the theoretical findings. The results reveal that RISC introduces additional harmonics to the EF. Furthermore, as the eccentricity/RISC degree or the distance between the short circuit position and the N‐pole increases, the end winding vibrations become more pronounced. When comparing single eccentricity and RISC faults to cases where both faults occur simultaneously, it is observed that the combined faults have a more detrimental impact on the end winding mechanical properties. © 2024 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and Wiley Periodicals LLC. Objective: The pathogenic mechanism underlying the effects of acidic pepsin in laryngeal cancer remains unclear. This study investigated whether acidic pepsin influences Glut‐1 expression and glycolytic activity in laryngeal carcinoma cells and whether it plays a role in the growth and migration of these cells through glycolysis. Study Design: In vitro study. Setting: A university‐affiliated hospital. Methods: Laryngeal carcinoma TU 212 and TU 686 cells were treated with acidic pepsin and 2‐deoxy‐d‐glucose (2‐DG), then transfected with Glut‐1 small interfering RNA (siRNA). Glucose uptake was detected by a radioimmunoassay counter, lactate secretion was detected by a lactic acid kit, and Glut‐1 expression was detected by western blotting. Cell viability, migration and invasion, and clonal formation were assessed using the Cell Counting Kit‐8, Transwell chamber, and clonal formation assays, respectively. Results: Acidic pepsin significantly increased Glut‐1 expression in laryngeal carcinoma cells compared with the control group (P <.01). It also significantly enhanced 18F‐fluorodeoxyglucose (Cin/Cout) uptake, lactate secretion, cell viability, migration, invasion, and clonal formation in laryngeal carcinoma cells compared with the control group (P <.01). The glycolytic inhibitor 2‐DG and Glut‐1 siRNA significantly reversed the effects of acidic pepsin on laryngeal carcinoma cells (P <.01). Conclusion: Acidic pepsin enhances the growth and migration of laryngeal carcinoma cells by upregulating Glut‐1, thus promoting glycolysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Wound infection is a major factor affecting the speed and quality of wound healing. While hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is recognized for its antibacterial capacity and facilitation of wound healing, its administration requires careful dosage differentiation. Inappropriately matched dosages can protract the healing of infected wounds. Herein, a calcium peroxide‐based hydrogel (CPO‐Alg hydrogel) is fabricated to enable a biphasic tapered release of H2O2, ensuring robust initial antimicrobial activity followed by sustained promotion of cellular proliferation of wound healing. The design of the hydrogel allowed for the calcium peroxide nanoparticles (CPO NPs) being in two spatial niches within the gel framework. When applied to infectious wounds, CPO NPs with weak constraints are promptly released out of the gel, penetrating into infected regions to serve as antibacterial agents that eliminate bacteria and biofilms at high concentrations. Conversely, the entrapped CPO NPs structurally integrated into the gel remain confined, thus gradually degrading and allowing a mild release of H2O2 through hydrolysis in a moist environment that contributes to the cell growth in the later stage. The CPO‐Alg hydrogel represents an innovative and practical solution for the antimicrobial protection of chronic wounds, offering promising prospects for advancing wound healing. A wideband transmitarray antenna (TA) incorporating a polarization conversion metasurface (PCM) is proposed. Four PCM elements with annular metallic polarizers are utilized to provide 2‐bit phase compensation without altering the geometric parameters of the elements, resulting in a wideband TA with a bandwidth comparable to that of the individual elements. A prototype of the proposed TA is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured 1‐ and 3‐dB gain bandwidths of the proposed TA are found to be 10–13.6 GHz (30%) and 9.2–15 GHz (48.3%), respectively, while the effective 1‐dB transmission band of the individual elements is 7.8–14.6 GHz. The similarity between the bandwidth of the proposed TA and that of elements used in our design demonstrates less wastage of element bandwidth by the proposed approach. A measured peak gain of 27.2 dBi and a peak aperture efficiency (AE) of 48.7% highlight the promising potential of the proposed TA for long‐distance communication, point‐to‐point communication, and other applications. To evaluate the reporting quality of randomized controlled trials (RCT) of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis and explore factors associated with the reporting. Study Design and Setting: Eight databases were searched from inception to August 2024 to assess the quality of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis RCTs based on the CONSORT, the STRICTA, and the CONSORT-Outcomes. We performed regression analyses on pre-specified study characteristics to explore factors associated with reporting quality. Results: One hundred and seventy-four RCTs were evaluated by 69 items from 3 checklists. Seventeen of 37 items on the CONSORT were under-reported (reported in less than 20% of RCTs), and the weakest reported item was why the trial ended or was stopped (0%). Four of 17 items on the STRICTA were under-reported, and the weakest reported item was the number of needle insertions per subject per session (9.2%). Eight of 17 items on the CONSORT-Outcomes were under-reported, and the weakest reported item was identifying any outcomes that were not pre-specified in a trial registry or trial protocol (0.6%). RCT locations include countries other than China, published in English, or funded were more likely to have better reporting. Conclusion: RCTs of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis need to focus more on reporting details of acupuncture interventions, the reporting of protocol amendment, and the complete reporting of outcome-related content. Journals should encourage authors to adhere strictly to reporting guidelines, which is necessary to improve the quality of reporting, which is very important for Chinese journals. The goal of network representation learning(NRL) is embedding network nodes into low-dimensional vector space,for effective feature representation of the downstream tasks.Due to the difficulty of information collection in the real-world scene-ries,large-scale networks often meet missing links between nodes.However,the most existing NRL models are designed on the foundation of complete information networks and that causes the poor robustness in incomplete networks.To solve this problem,a deep network representation learning(DNRL) method based on incomplete information networks is proposed.Firstly,a transfer probability matrix is used to dynamically mix the structural information and attribute information to cover the excessive loss caused by incomplete structural information.Then,a deep generative model variational autoencoder with powerful feature extraction capability is used to learn low-dimensional representation of nodes,and capture the potential high nonlinear features of nodes.Compared with the commonly used network representation learning methods,the experimental results on three real attri-bute networks show that the proposed model obviously improve effect in the node classification task with different degrees of link missing,visualization results clearly demonstrate the cluster relationship of nodes.
