Recent research on curricular analytics suggests that the structure of a college major may impact major persistence and degree completion. Contributing to this line of research, we propose and test a new measure of the "lived curriculum" that captures the extent to which cohorts within a major take the same exact course-taking path as they advance from matriculation to graduation (or institutional exit). First, we describe variation in path homogeneity across both STEM and non-STEM majors at one public research-intensive institution. Second, we show that a major's level of path homogeneity is correlated with the percentage of "locked" requirements in its stated curriculum, but that the stated curriculum cannot account for all observed differences in path homogeneity. Third, we conduct a correlational analysis of early exposure to path homogeneity and graduation likelihood. Findings show that students with average levels of academic preparation are less likely to graduate if enrolled in path-homogeneous majors compared to more path-heterogeneous (i.e., flexible) majors, and that negative outcomes associated with a path-homogeneous major are exacerbated for students with below-average preparation. Supplemental analyses show that this relationship holds for STEM and non-STEM majors, cannot be explained away by the competitiveness of a major, and that students generally switched from more to less path-homogeneous majors over the course of their college careers. Taken together, these findings urge re-examination of the ways college majors can promote retention.

Multivariate techniques better fit the anatomy of complex neuropsychiatric disorders which are characterized not by alterations in a single region, but rather by variations across distributed brain networks. Here, we used principal component analysis (PCA) to identify patterns of covariance across brain regions and relate them to clinical and demographic variables in a large generalizable dataset of individuals with bipolar disorders and controls. We then compared performance of PCA and clustering on identical sample to identify which methodology was better in capturing links between brain and clinical measures. Using data from the ENIGMA-BD working group, we investigated T1-weighted structural MRI data from 2436 participants with BD and healthy controls, and applied PCA to cortical thickness and surface area measures. We then studied the association of principal components with clinical and demographic variables using mixed regression models. We compared the PCA model with our prior clustering analyses of the same data and also tested it in a replication sample of 327 participants with BD or schizophrenia and healthy controls. The first principal component, which indexed a greater cortical thickness across all 68 cortical regions, was negatively associated with BD, BMI, antipsychotic medications, and age and was positively associated with Li treatment. PCA demonstrated superior goodness of fit to clustering when predicting diagnosis and BMI. Moreover, applying the PCA model to the replication sample yielded significant differences in cortical thickness between healthy controls and individuals with BD or schizophrenia. Cortical thickness in the same widespread regional network as determined by PCA was negatively associated with different clinical and demographic variables, including diagnosis, age, BMI, and treatment with antipsychotic medications or lithium. PCA outperformed clustering and provided an easy-to-use and interpret method to study multivariate associations between brain structure and system-level variables. PRACTITIONER POINTS: In this study of 2770 Individuals, we confirmed that cortical thickness in widespread regional networks as determined by principal component analysis (PCA) was negatively associated with relevant clinical and demographic variables, including diagnosis, age, BMI, and treatment with antipsychotic medications or lithium. Significant associations of many different system-level variables with the same brain network suggest a lack of one-to-one mapping of individual clinical and demographic factors to specific patterns of brain changes. PCA outperformed clustering analysis in the same data set when predicting group or BMI, providing a superior method for studying multivariate associations between brain structure and system-level variables.

Research has established that stereotyping, prejudice and collective self-esteem predict academic performance. Similarly, in Ghana, students' academic achievement could be influenced by stereotyping, prejudice and collective self-esteem, particularly, in relation to their modes of study. Thus, the study compared distance education and regular students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on account of stereotyping, prejudice, collective self-esteem and academic achievement. The study employed the descriptive survey design, and a multi-stage sampling approach to select a sample of 628 comprising 306 and 322 regular and distance education students respectively for the study. Two research instruments that measured stereotyping, prejudice and collective self-esteem of distance and regular students were used to collect data. Data were analysed using multiple linear regression. Results revealed that stereotyping and collective self-esteem predicted the academic achievement of regular students. However, these variables did not predict the academic achievement of distance education students. It was recommended that academic counselling and workshops be organised by the UCC management in order to boost students' confidence and pride in their modes of study.

PURPOSE: Epistasis, the interaction between two or more genes, is integral to the study of genetics and is present throughout nature. Yet, it is seldom fully explored as most approaches primarily focus on single-locus effects, partly because analyzing all pairwise and higher-order interactions requires significant computational resources. Furthermore, existing methods for epistasis detection only consider a Cartesian (multiplicative) model for interaction terms. This is likely limiting as epistatic interactions can evolve to produce varied relationships between genetic loci, some complex and not linearly separable. METHODS: We present new algorithms for the interaction coefficients for standard regression models for epistasis that permit many varied models for the interaction terms for loci and efficient memory usage. The algorithms are given for two-way and three-way epistasis and may be generalized to higher order epistasis. Statistical tests for the interaction coefficients are also provided. We also present an efficient matrix based algorithm for permutation testing for two-way epistasis. We offer a proof and experimental evidence that methods that look for epistasis only at loci that have main effects may not be justified. Given the computational efficiency of the algorithm, we applied the method to a rat data set and mouse data set, with at least 10,000 loci and 1,000 samples each, using the standard Cartesian model and the XOR model to explore body mass index. RESULTS: This study reveals that although many of the loci found to exhibit significant statistical epistasis overlap between models in rats, the pairs are mostly distinct. Further, the XOR model found greater evidence for statistical epistasis in many more pairs of loci in both data sets with almost all significant epistasis in mice identified using XOR. In the rat data set, loci involved in epistasis under the XOR model are enriched for biologically relevant pathways. CONCLUSION: Our results in both species show that many biologically relevant epistatic relationships would have been undetected if only one interaction model was applied, providing evidence that varied interaction models should be implemented to explore epistatic interactions that occur in living systems.

BackgroundThe additive model of inheritance assumes that heterozygotes (Aa) are exactly intermediate in respect to homozygotes (AA and aa). While this model is commonly used in single-locus genetic association studies, significant deviations from additivity are well-documented and contribute to phenotypic variance across many traits and systems. This assumption can introduce type I and type II errors by overestimating or underestimating the effects of variants that deviate from additivity. Alternative genotype encoding strategies have been explored to account for different inheritance patterns, but they often incur significant computational or methodological costs. To address these challenges, we introduce PAGER (Phenotype Adjusted Genotype Encoding and Ranking), an efficient pre-processing method that encodes each genetic variant based on normalized mean phenotypic differences between diallelic genotype classes (AA, Aa, and aa). This approach more accurately reflects each variant's true inheritance model, improving model precision while minimizing the costs associated with alternative encoding strategies.ResultsThrough extensive benchmarking on SNPs simulated with both binary and continuous phenotypes, we demonstrate that PAGER accurately represents various inheritance patterns (including additive, dominant, recessive, and heterosis), achieves levels of statistical power that meet or exceed other encoding strategies, and attains computation speeds up to 55 times faster than a similar method, EDGE. We also apply PAGER to publicly available real-world data and identify a novel, relevant putative QTL associated with body mass index in rats (Rattus norvegicus) that is not detected with the additive model.ConclusionsOverall, we show that PAGER is an efficient genotype encoding approach that can uncover sources of missing heritability and reveal novel insights in the study of complex traits while incurring minimal costs.

Abstract: Background: Therapeutic climbing (TC) has been increasingly implemented in the context of mental health care, with promising effects. While most evaluation studies focus on symptom reduction, the specific elements and mechanisms that make climbing effective compared to other therapeutic sports remain unclear. This study explores the subjective experiences of participants of a climbing therapy program in order to explore the underlying processes and the subjectively perceived effects. Method: The study took place at an inpatient rehabilitation facility in southern Germany, where a weekly group TC program was part of the treatment for individuals with mental disorders. Data from 265 participants with ICD-10 mental disorders collected between 2010 and 2022 was analyzed via questionnaires quantitatively assessing physical, psychological, and social improvements with rating items. Additionally open answers on subjectively relevant psychological experiences were analyzed using a qualitative content analysis. Results: Climbing therapy was generally perceived as relevant to their rehabilitation and rated as influential in terms of improving physical and psychological condition as well as sociability. The qualitative analysis identified five main categories being “Successful coping and positive mood”, “Challenge and coping strategies”, “Self-reflection and self-perception”, “Social experiences and belaying” and “Letting go of worries and being in the moment”. Conclusion: The results support previous findings on the benefits of TC and highlight its relevance as a therapeutic tool. Participants with mental disorders reported various positive experiences, emphasizing the unique demands, motivational aspects and social context of climbing. Further high-quality research is needed to compare climbing’s potential with other therapeutic sports across different target groups.

Abstract Background In Ghana, the use of illegal drugs and alcohol has been classified as endemic. To manage this menace, the Therapeutic Community model for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) was introduced in Ghana about a decade ago as an alternative to other existing strategies. However, the effectiveness of this treatment modality for substance use disorders in Pantang Mental Hospital and Accra Psychiatric Hospital has not been scientifically studied. Objective This study, therefore, sought to explore the experiences of substance users or residents enrolled in the Therapeutic Community programme toward recovery from substance use disorders. Method This research employed an explorative-descriptive design. Participants (N = 20) were enrolled purposively sampled and recruited into the study. Face-to-face interviews were conducted using a semi-structured guide and data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s descriptive phenomenology data analysis process. Results Two main themes emerged from the data: “Why I stayed” (Motivation), and “All things are new” (Life transformation). The study pointed out that residents or participants mainly expressed positive experiences in the programme, including experiencing a sense of belongingness, enhanced self-esteem/self-worth, and most importantly, developing hope of a life free of addiction. Conclusion In conclusion, the study found that participants in the Therapeutic Community (TC) program generally had positive experiences and believed in its effectiveness for recovery. Factors such as a relaxed environment, supportive staff, and interactions with other residents contributed to their positive experience. The study discovered that motivation, a conducive environment for care, structured program activities, and relationships among residents were key factors that motivated participants to stay and actively participate in the therapeutic community program. These factors fostered hope and a sense of belonging, ultimately contributing to their recovery journey. However, participants expressed the need for self-actualization, which they hoped to achieve after completing the program and reintegrating into the community.

Abstract Background Epistasis, the interaction between genetic loci where the effect of one locus is influenced by one or more other loci, plays a crucial role in the genetic architecture of complex traits. However, as the number of loci considered increases, the investigation of epistasis becomes exponentially more complex, making the selection of key features vital for effective downstream analyses. Relief-Based Algorithms (RBAs) are often employed for this purpose due to their reputation as “interaction-sensitive” algorithms and uniquely non-exhaustive approach. However, the limitations of RBAs in detecting interactions, particularly those involving multiple loci, have not been thoroughly defined. This study seeks to address this gap by evaluating the efficiency of RBAs in detecting higher-order epistatic interactions. Motivated by previous findings that suggest some RBAs may rank predictive features involved in higher-order epistasis negatively, we explore the potential of absolute value ranking of RBA feature weights as an alternative approach for capturing complex interactions. In this study, we assess the performance of ReliefF, MultiSURF, and MultiSURFstar on simulated genetic datasets that model various patterns of genotype-phenotype associations, including 2-way to 5-way genetic interactions, and compare their performance to two control methods: a random shuffle and mutual information. Results Our findings indicate that while RBAs effectively identify lower-order (2 to 3-way) interactions, their capability to detect higher-order interactions is significantly limited, primarily by large feature count but also by signal noise. Specifically, we observe that RBAs are successful in detecting fully penetrant 4-way XOR interactions using an absolute value ranking approach, but this is restricted to datasets with only 20 total features. Conclusions These results highlight the inherent limitations of current RBAs and underscore the need for the development of Relief-based approaches with enhanced detection capabilities for the investigation of epistasis, particularly in datasets with large feature counts and complex higher-order interactions.

Purpose: This work aligns with two of the following NAPDS Essentials: Clinical Preparation and Learning and Leading. The authors collaborated with district partners to determine how to best meet their needs. Additionally, our institution continues to develop a reciprocal relationship; pre-service teachers can hone skills during the clinical field experience, and the university will better support the professional development initiatives of districts with whom we partner. Clinical field assignments are designed with intentionality to align with the needs of our districts. Consequently, pre-service teachers will be better equipped to immerse themselves in the field experiences and effectively address the diverse needs of students. The authors will continue to engage our preservice and in-service teachers and personalize supports. Design/methodology/approach: A needs assessment was conducted to determine the most appropriate supports for our district partners. A survey was disseminated, and individuals ranked their area for support. The authors followed up with in-service teachers and district leaders to discuss specific strategies that could strengthen academic achievement and social emotional development. Additionally, the data were used to determine how to better equip teacher candidates to serve in the partner districts. Findings: Two programs that have been highly successful have been the Teacher Assistant to Teaching Professional program which is a specialized grow your own and bringing high school students to campus that are interested in becoming educators their junior year, lastly, the use of Mixed Reality Simulations to strengthen educator preparation. Creating diverse partnerships is not a one-size-fits-all approach in every district. Needs assessment and ongoing conversations are needed to ensure both the district and the Educator Preparation Program are able to support pre-service and in-service teachers along with the needs of PreK-12 students. Originality/value: This paper highlights diverse approaches to strengthening partnerships and the teacher pipeline.

This study aimed to identify the prevalence of current smoking and examine the association between meeting combinations of the 24-h movement guidelines and current smoking in autistic adults. This cross-sectional study administered an electronic survey to a national sample of autistic adults in the United States. The study outcome was current smoking. Independent variables included the 24-h movement behaviors. Multivariable statistical modeling was used to assess the study aims. The study sample (n = 259) had a mean age of 31.05 years (standard deviation = 7.70), 58.7% were male, 11.2% were fully independent, and 35.5% were current smokers. Current smokers met significantly fewer 24-h movement guidelines than non-smokers (mean = 1.52 (standard deviation = 0.73) vs mean= 1.93 (standard deviation = 0.88), respectively, t = 3.77, p < 0.01). Autistic adults with high levels of sedentary behavior were almost three times more likely (odds ratio = 2.784, 95% confidence interval = 1.490, 5.237) to be a current smoker than those who did not meet these guidelines. Autistic adults not meeting sleep and sedentary behavior recommendations had a 1.581 increased odds (odds ratio = 1.581 95% confidence interval = 1.25, 2.001) of being a smoker as compared to those meeting these recommendations. Current smoking was highly prevalent in this sample. Improving sleep health and reducing sedentary time may be viable intervention targets to help promote smoking cessation in autistic adults.

Purpose: Phonological awareness and alphabet knowledge are fundamental building blocks for literacy development. We identified preschoolers with persistent delays in these skills and evaluated the efficacy of a supplemental curriculum to remediate deficits in early literacy skills. Method: Using a cluster design, 21 classrooms were randomly assigned to early literacy versus language intervention conditions. Sixty children identified through fall semester assessments of phonological awareness and alphabet knowledge were enrolled in small-group instruction. Teachers completed eLearning modules, used a digital platform to enter data and facilitate data-based decision making, received practice-based coaching, and delivered 12 weekly units of an early literacy curriculum. Comparison teachers delivered similarly administered small-group language instruction. Results: Large effects were evident for letter sounds, phoneme segmentation, first sound, and first sound fluency measures (d= 0.92, 4.77, 1.15, and 1.50, respectively), and nonsignificant, small effects for letter naming and blending measures (d = 0.26 and 0.27). Discussion: This early literacy intervention package had practical benefits, with 90% of experimental group preschoolers exceeding the phonemic awareness benchmark for beginning kindergarten compared to 45% in the comparison group, for example. Providing preschool teachers with tools and support for implementing a tiered approach to early literacy intervention holds promise for producing impressive gains in skills required for children to succeed in later schooling.

This article explores the experiences of the use of the "Regional Health and Social Care Hospital Passport" ("Regional Hospital Passport") in Northern Ireland from the perspectives of adults with intellectual disabilities, family carers and health professionals. From semi-structured interviews three themes emerged: usefulness; facilitators; and barriers to the use of the "Regional Hospital Passport". There were clear benefits of the Hospital Passport when used across hospital services and clinical practice settings such as dental and General Practices. There was participant agreement that communication and the person-centred care experiences were enhanced. Findings suggest that providers of health and social care services need to take greater responsibility and accountability for ensuring "Regional Hospital Passports" are promoted and used across all settings. There is a requirement to develop the wider use and uptake of hospital passports to support adults with intellectual disabilities, with potential for use with other patient groups.

Converging evidence suggests that schizophrenia (SZ) with primary, enduring negative symptoms (i.e., Deficit SZ (DSZ)) represents a distinct entity within the SZ spectrum while the neurobiological underpinnings remain undetermined. In the largest dataset of DSZ and Non-Deficit (NDSZ), we conducted a meta-analysis of data from 1560 individuals (168 DSZ, 373 NDSZ, 1019 Healthy Controls (HC)) and a mega-analysis of a subsampled data from 944 individuals (115 DSZ, 254 NDSZ, 575 HC) collected across 9 worldwide research centers of the ENIGMA SZ Working Group (8 in the mega-analysis), to clarify whether they differ in terms of cortical morphology. In the meta-analysis, sites computed effect sizes for differences in cortical thickness and surface area between SZ and control groups using a harmonized pipeline. In the mega-analysis, cortical values of individuals with schizophrenia and control participants were analyzed across sites using mixed-model ANCOVAs. The meta-analysis of cortical thickness showed a converging pattern of widespread thinner cortex in fronto-parietal regions of the left hemisphere in both DSZ and NDSZ, when compared to HC. However, DSZ have more pronounced thickness abnormalities than NDSZ, mostly involving the right fronto-parietal cortices. As for surface area, NDSZ showed differences in fronto-parietal-temporo-occipital cortices as compared to HC, and in temporo-occipital cortices as compared to DSZ. Although DSZ and NDSZ show widespread overlapping regions of thinner cortex as compared to HC, cortical thinning seems to better typify DSZ, being more extensive and bilateral, while surface area alterations are more evident in NDSZ. Our findings demonstrate for the first time that DSZ and NDSZ are characterized by different neuroimaging phenotypes, supporting a nosological distinction between DSZ and NDSZ and point toward the separate disease hypothesis.

Abstract Background Relationships and sexuality education (RSE) programmes are widely taught in schools, however for children and young people with intellectual disabilities, these programmes appear to be limited regarding information on relationships, informed choices and decision making. The purpose of this study was to seek the views and understanding of children and young people with intellectual disabilities, and those involved in their care and education, to identify best practice and approaches to the delivery on relationships and sexuality education. Methods This study used a qualitative design with 37 pupils from five special schools from across the United Kingdom (UK) participating. In-depth semi-structured interviews were held online, or in person. All interviews were recorded and transcribed verbatim. Transcripts were anonymised, assigned a pseudonym and subjected to inductive thematic analysis. Findings Four themes emerged from the data: (i) enthusiasm and inquisitiveness to acquire knowledge; (ii) dynamics of positive friendships; (iii) experiences and understanding of supportive relationships and sexuality; and (iv) valuing the exchange of knowledge and information. The findings highlight that children and young people with intellectual disabilities want education, support and information on matters relating to their relationships and sexuality. Conclusions This is the largest study to date providing a voice to children and young people with intellectual disabilities regarding their relationships and sexuality. While special schools provide relationships and sexuality education, there is a requirement for a programme and resources specific to the needs of pupils with intellectual disabilities to be developed and evaluated. Such education should continue beyond school and be embedded in adult services.

What concepts do people use to construct narratives about how to get ahead in contemporary society? To what extent do these narratives reflect distinctive constellations of beliefs? What are these constellations and is their usage contingent on social position? With these questions in mind, we used the qualitative data associated with the American Voices Project to systematically explore and map constellations of beliefs. Adopting a natural language analysis, we identify linguistic patterns that signal the relative importance of different get-ahead outlooks as cultural frames. These outlooks include not only traditional meritocratic factors, but also a range of nonmeritocratic influences, including nonrational factors such as luck and religion. Our analysis identifies three distinctive versions of meritocracy—frustrated, complex, and detached—in how people describe their life trajectories. Our findings suggest that the idea of meritocracy hides meaningful variations and nuances in the ways people construct visions of what meritocracy means and how it is constituted.

Emotional dysregulation involving anger can have severe consequences on the individual’s psychosocial and emotional functioning. This study aimed to investigate the role that the companion animal bond and the personality dimension of trait anger play in explaining affective dysregulation. A cross-sectional online survey was administered to 365 participants. Using the PROCESS macro for SPSS, a moderated model was tested to analyze the hypothesis that affective dysregulation depends on trait anger and that the companion animal bond moderates the relationship between trait anger and affective dysregulation. The results showed that the effect of trait anger on affective dysregulation increases especially when the degree of bonding to an animal companion is low, suggesting that a strong bond to a companion animal may protect individuals with trait anger from the likelihood of experiencing affective regulation problems. The psychological, health-related, and educational implications of the current anthrozoological study include the potential of the human–animal bond in acting as a facilitator of adaptive affective regulation processes, which can reduce the levels of uncontrolled anger-related emotions and the subsequent risk of out-of-control behaviors.

Abstract Short, disturbed, and irregular sleep may contribute to blunted nocturnal blood pressure (BP) dipping, a predictor of cardiovascular disease. Black women (BLW) demonstrate less BP dipping and poorer sleep health than White women (WHW). However, it remains unclear whether device‐estimated sleep health metrics mediate the relation between race and BP dipping in young women. We hypothesized that the relation between race and BP dipping would be partly mediated by sleep health metrics of sleep duration, sleep efficiency, and sleep regularity. Participants (20 BLW, 17 WHW) were 18–29 years old, normotensive, nonobese, and without evidence of sleep disorders. Systolic and diastolic BP dipping were derived from 24‐h ambulatory BP monitoring. Habitual sleep duration and sleep efficiency were estimated via 14 days of wrist actigraphy. Sleep duration regularity was calculated as the standard deviation (SD) of nightly sleep duration (SDSD). Sleep timing regularity metrics were calculated as the SD of sleep onset and sleep midpoint (SMSD). Mediation analysis tested the mediating effect of each sleep metric on the relation between race and BP dipping. BLW experienced less systolic (P = .02) and diastolic (P = .01) BP dipping. Sleep duration (P = .14) was not different between groups. BLW had lower sleep efficiency (P .38). In conclusion, mediation pathways of sleep health metrics do not explain racial differences in nocturnal BP dipping between young BLW and WHW.

This study examined the relationships between first-year university students' academic motivation, retrospective evaluation of school experiences, subjective well-being, engagement and intention to drop out. Self-determination theory, the SInAPSi model of academic engagement, the hedonic approach, and the retrospective judgment process were used to frame the study. A final sample of 565 first-year Italian students enrolled in Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM) courses (Biology, Biotechnologies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics) was included. Three mediation models based on structural equations were tested to analyse the relationships between the proposed variables: motivation as an antecedent of dropout intention with only commitment as a mediator (model 1); model 1 + subjective well-being as a second mediator (model 2); model 2 + retrospective judgement as an antecedent (model 3). The results showed that in all models the more autonomous motivational styles predicted students' engagement, which in turn directly and indirectly influenced their intention to drop out. In model 2, subjective well-being acted as a mediator of the relationships between motivation, engagement and dropout intentions. In model 3, we found that subjective well-being also fully mediated the relationships between retrospective judgement and engagement. Overall, our findings provide new insights into the mechanisms underlying student engagement and dropout at university and may inform university policy.

Purpose: Child and caregiver sleep occurs in a family system, with socioeconomically disadvantaged families experiencing disproportionately worse sleep health than more advantaged families. The extent to which objectively measured sleep health metrics (i.e., sleep duration, midpoint, regularity, efficiency) are concordant within disadvantaged family systems, including caregiver-child dyads, is not clear. To address this gap, this study aimed to: (1) characterize sleep health metrics and (2) identify levels of sleep health concordance among caregiver-child dyads living in families experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage. Design and methods: We enrolled 20 caregivers and 26 children in this micro-longitudinal study. Eligible primary caregivers slept in the same house as the child [greater than or equal to]4 nights/week and had no sleep disorders. Eligible children were aged 6-14 years and reported no medical problems. Dyads wore an actigraphy device continuously for 14 consecutive days. Sleep duration, bedtime, midpoint, and efficiency were estimated, and concordance evaluated using linear mixed modeling (R v.3.5.2). Results: Most caregivers were female (85%), Non-Hispanic Black (80%), and aged 40.45 years (SD=11.82). On average, caregivers were not meeting national recommendations for sleep duration and efficiency. Similarly, sleep duration recommendations were not met by child participants. Bivariate results showed that bedtime ??=0.19, p<0.001), sleep efficiency (??=0.24, p<0.001), and sleep midpoint (??=0.39, p<0.001), were concordant between child and caregiver. Multivariable models showed that caregiver bedtime was predictive of child sleep midpoint (b=0.16, p<0.05), and caregiver sleep midpoint was predictive of child bedtime (b=0.29, p<0.01) and child sleep midpoint (b=0.31, p<0.001). Conclusion: Objectively estimated caregiver sleep may be connected to the sleep timing of their children. Improving child sleep may require addressing caregiver sleep habits too. Practice Implications: Results highlight the importance of providers considering caregiver sleep health when assessing child sleep health during well child visits.
