The advance in seismic acquisition requires more techniques compatible with urban means and environmentally friendly. Accordingly, the horizontal‐to‐vertical spectral ratio (HVSR), is a method that is becoming much more popular and convenient. Used with a lot more frequency to help estimate structures and draw a better model for shallow structures. Following the tested and approved procedures described in the SESAME Project, we acquired 58 measurements in 6 profiles, including fixed and temporary stations. The study site is a strike-slip basin, called Água Bonita, located in the state boundaries of Tocantins with Goiás, in the center-North of Brazil. The deep structure of this basin is well-constrained based on geological and geophysical data. Therefore, we could compare the reliability of our depth estimates. Following the previous acquisitions, we used broadband and short-period seismometers for the acquisition, positioning the profile's location transversal to the basin length.Due to the basin geometry, we searched for a correlation between the HVSR frequency results and the sedimentary thickness, type of sediment, and overall location within the geological context. The inversion of the HVSR frequency peaks was used to estimate the depth of the layers observed. The preliminary results indicate an association between sedimentary thickness and lithology contrast. It obtained frequencies ranging from 0.2Hz at the edges to 11Hz in the basin's center. With the data acquired, we were able to trace a 3d model of the basin and possibly better identify other faults within the basin changing its geometry alongside its length., The 28th IUGG General Assembly (IUGG2023) (Berlin 2023)

Inaugurada em 2006, a Usina Hidrelétrica de Irapé possui a mais alta barragem do país, com 210 m, que vem sendo monitorada pelo Observatório Sismológico da Universidade de Brasília desde o começo do enchimento de seu reservatório. Apresentando sismicidade causada pelo aumento da tensão crustal logo após o início do represamento, a Sismicidade Desencadeada por Reservatório da Usina Hidrelétrica de Irapé permanece como um importante objeto de estudo para o entendimento deste fenômeno. O presente trabalho se propôs a estudar a sismicidade registrada de janeiro a maio de 2006, assim como a caracterizar a geologia ao redor da Usina Hidrelétrica de Irapé com o intuito de identificar e descrever as estruturas que permitam melhor compreender os eventos sísmicos. A orientação espacial dos eventos sísmicos obtidos pela análise das polaridades e da forma de onda condiz com aquelas dos lineamentos de relevo. As estruturas encontradas podem ser associadas a uma maior, de direção principal NE/SW, com dezenas de quilômetros, que seria responsável pela captura dos rios Jequitinhonha e Araçuaí, interpretada neste trabalho como uma estrutura relacionada a uma fase tardia do Evento Brasiliano. O diagrama de solução do mecanismo focal gerado utilizando um método de inversão da forma de onda no domínio do tempo indica que a direção dos possíveis planos de falhas está correlacionada ao principal direcionamento das estruturas rúpteis na área de trabalho. Inaugurated in 2006, the Irapé Hydroelectric Plant has the highest dam in Brazil, with 210 m. The Seismological Observatory of the University of Brasilia is monitoring this structure since the beginning of its reservoir filling. The reservoir triggered seismicity caused by the increase of crustal tension just after the start of the remains like an important object of study for understanding this phenomenon. This paper aims at studying the seismicity recorded from January to May 2006, as well as to characterize the geology around the Hydroelectric Plant Irapé in order to identify and describe the structures that help for better understanding the seismic events. The spatial orientation of the seismic events obtained by analyzing polarity and waveform is consistent with the guidance of prominent relief lineaments. These faults can be found attached to a larger structure with main NE/SW direction and tens of kilometers, which would be responsible for capturing Jequitinhonha and Araçuaí rivers. This great lineament is interpreted herein as a structure related to a late stage of the Brasiliano-Panafrican event. The solution of focal mechanism, created using an inversion method of the waveform in the time domain, indicates that the direction of the possible plans are correlated to main failure of brittle structures targeting the area of work.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The Tucunduba Dam, is west of Fortaleza, Ceará State. The seismic monitoring of the area, with an analogical station and seven digital stations, had beginning on June 11, 1997. The digital stations, operated from June to November 1997. The data collected in the period of digital monitoring was analyzed for determination of hypocenters, focal mechanisms, and shear-wave anisotropy analysis. For determination of hypocenters, it was possible to find an active zone of nearly 1 km in length, with depth between 4.5 and 5.2 km. A 60AZ/88SE fault plane was determined using the least-squares method and hypocenters of a selected set of 16 earthquakes recorded. Focal mechanisms were determined, in the composite fault plane solution, a strike-slip fault, trending nearly E-W, was found. Single fault plane solutions were obteined to some earthquakes presented mean values of 65 (azimuth), and 80 (dip). Shear-wave anisotropy was found in the data. Polarization directions and travel time delays, between S spliting waves, were determined. It was not possible to obtain any conclusion on the cause of the observed anisotropy. It is not clear if there is correlation between seismicity and mapped faults in the area, although the directions obtained starting from the hipocentros and focal mechanism are they are consistent with directions, observed in the area, photo, topographic and fractures directions observed in the area o Açude Tucunduba está localizado no município de Senador Sá, a aproximadamente 290 km a oeste de Fortaleza - CE. O monitorarnento sísmico da região, por meio de urna rede sismográfica local, teve início em 11 de junho de 1997, logo após a ocorrência de um evento com magnitude 3,2 mb, no dia 09 de junho de 1997. O monitorarnento foi realizado com uma estação analógica (utilizada na determinação da magnitude com a duração e na contagem do número de eventos por dia), e sete estações digitais. As estações digitais, com três componentes cada, operaram no período de junho a novembro de 1997. Neste trabalho foram analisados os dados coletados pelas estações digitais objetivando a determinação de hipocentros, mecanismos focais e análise de anisotropia sísmica. Na determinação hipocentral utilizou-se o programa HYPO71, com o modelo de semiespaço, de parâmetros iguais a 5,95, para a velocidade da onda P, e 1,69, para a razão Entre as velocidades das ondas P e S. Dessa forma, foi possível detectar urna zona ativa, de aproximadamente 1 km de extensão e profundidade variando de 4,5 a 5,2 km. Com um conjunto de 16 sismos, registrados na mesmas seis estações, foi determinado um plano de falha a partir dos hipocentros, pelo método dos mínimos quadrados, obtendo-se os valores de 60° para o azimute e 88° para o mergulho. A determinação de mecanismos focais foi feita de duas formas distintas, utilizando-se os programas FPFIT e FOCMEC. Na solução do mecanismo composto (FPFIT), encontrou-se uma falha de direção aproximadamente E-W (265° para o azimute, 88° para o mergulho), transcorrente, sinistral, com componente normal.Foram determinados vários mecanismos individuais (FOCMEC), tendo-se obtido um valor médio de 65° para o azimute e 80° para o mergulho. Estimativas preliminares do esforço horizontal máximo, a partir da direção do eixo P, não são concordantes com valores anteriormente obtidos para sismos ao sul do Açude Tucunduba. Na região também foi feito um estudo de anisotropia, onde se verificou a presença de anisotropia na propagação da onda S, possibilitando a obtenção das direções de polarizações e dos tempos de atraso entre as ondas S divididas, para duas estações. A dificuldade de se ter uma boa estimativa para o esforço horizontal máximo, na região, impossibilitou qualquer conclusão sobre a causa da anisotropia observada. Não se pode concluir, de forma clara, que a atividade sísmica possa estar associada diretamente a falhas mapeadas na região. As direções do plano de falha pelo ajuste por mínimos quadrados, FPFIT e FOCMEC (valor médio) estão no intervalo de NE e EW. Estes valores são consistentes com as direções de fotolineamentos, lineamentos topográficos, positivos e negativos, e de fraturas secas, observadas na região.
