In this research article, we present the results of a qualitative study aimed at highlighting how the reports described in the work Através da Bahia, by the German naturalists Spix and Martius can contribute to the science teaching and teacher training that is sensitive to cultural diversity. The methodology used was documentary research, and the data analysis employed content analysis methods. The analysis indicates that there are excerpts in the mentioned work focused on ethnobiological and ethnoecological knowledge that open up possibilities for dialogue with school science content in biology, chemistry, and ecology (e.g., scientific classification, animal fossils, biological evolution, environmental sustainability, socio-environmental development, slavery, and racism). These excerpts could also draw teachers' attention towards considering and respecting cultural diversity from a historical and social perspective, contributing to teacher training that is sensitive to cultural diversity. The purpose of this article is to assess the effect of a writing framework model for pedagogical reflection in a sample of elementary school teachers who took part in a lifelong learning program. To do so, a combined research design was carried out, implementing, on the one hand, inferential and multivariable statistical techniques to determine the tempering effect of feedback on the performance of written reflection and, on the other hand, content analysis of the teachers' written production to identify their development of pedagogical reflection. He results reveal that encouraging this reflection in teachers' writing allows them to develop a more in-depth assessment and analysis of their own practices, which is evidenced by the use of more detailed explanations and arguments and the precision of the terminological use of specific concepts. El presente estudio tuvo como propósito dar cuenta de la producción científica actual en torno a las capacidades perceptivo-motrices (CPM) presentes en el contexto escolar y deportivo, entre los años 2015-2023. A nivel metodológico, se retomó el enfoque cualitativo, desde una revisión bibliométrica, que contó con la búsqueda de artículos de investigación en la base de datos Scopus, empleando el resumen analítico de investigación (RAI); posteriormente, se trasladó la información a una base de datos en el programa Microsoft Excel 2016 para presentar datos descriptivos; se empleó el Software Atlas ti v.24 para el análisis categórico y, por otro lado, la herramienta de software VOSviewer para la observación y construcción de redes de coocurrencia de términos relacionados a las CPM. En cuanto a los resultados, el refuerzo de las CPM trasciende los beneficios a nivel motor en otras áreas de conocimiento, como es el caso de la lectoescritura; por tal razón, se hace imperativa la estimulación a temprana edad desde la clase de educación física. Finalmente, se encuentran, en las categorías, asociaciones de las CPM con el rendimiento motor, las habilidades motrices básicas y déficits modulares, tanto en los procesos de lenguaje como en la motricidad humana.

A pesar de los avances legales y de respeto hacia las personas LGTBI, su situación en el sistema educativo es todavía problemática, pues sufren discriminaciones de diversa índole. Este clima escolar homofóbico es todavía más intenso en Educación Física, dadas las peculiaridades de esta asignatura, sobre todo por su orientación técnica y afinidad por los contenidos deportivos con alta carga hacia la masculinidad hegemónica. Este estudio tuvo, por ello, el objetivo de recoger datos sobre el recuerdo de las experiencias del alumnado atendiendo especialmente al acoso recibido en el contexto escolar, la participación en la asignatura de Educación Física y sus preferencias de contenido. Para este fin se usó un cuestionario online, mediante el que se recogieron datos de 989 personas, de las que un 47.5 % eran gais, un 21.3 % lesbianas, un 18.6 % bisexuales y el resto, un 12.5 %, heterosexuales. Los resultados constataron una percepción de acoso mayor para el alumnado LGB que para el heterosexual (mayormente de tipo verbal), sobre todo entre los gais, quienes presentaron resultados muy desfavorables en prácticamente todos los ítems analizados. Asimismo, los alumnos gais manifestaban no ser elegidos en actividades ni utilizar los vestuarios al finalizar las sesiones de clase, en comparación con sus compañeras lesbianas o el alumnado heterosexual. Ante estos resultados, se concluye la necesidad de atender todas las vejaciones, además de reorientar la asignatura para dar cabida a la manifiesta diversidad del alumnado. Una postura crítica ante las decisiones del profesorado y más formación docente parecen hoy pertinentes.

El acompañamiento pedagógico en la labor educativa es una estrategia de formación continua que tiene como propósito la mejora de los procesos pedagógicos en el desempeño de los docentes y los aprendizajes de los estudiantes. La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las experiencias del acompañamiento pedagógico en los Liceos Onésimo Jiménez y Politécnico Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes de Santiago de los Caballeros, año 2022-2023 para determinar el tipo de acompañamiento docente, identificar los cambios que genera y el nivel de satisfacción. La metodología utilizada responde al enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental de corte básico. La técnica e instrumento utilizado para la recolección de los datos fue el cuestionario ad hoc. Los programas de formación del profesorado universitario incluyen la enseñanza de la reflexión como medio para comprender y gestionar las situaciones de la propia práctica en el aula. Si bien el estudio de la enseñanza de la reflexión ha sido abordado ampliamente en la literatura, todavía resulta poco conocido cómo los formadores de dichos programas enseñan a reflexionar al mismo tiempo que abordan contenidos psico educativos sobre la enseñanza y aprendizaje en educación superior. En este estudio se aborda esta problemática centrando el análisis en las representaciones que los formadores del profesorado universitario tienen sobre la enseñanza de la reflexión, sus finalidades y características. Se entrevistó a 12 formadores de programas implementados en universidades chilenas de diferente composición y distribuidas a lo largo de todo el país. El análisis de contenido de las entrevistas mostró diversidad de enfoques y propuestas de implementación de la enseñanza de la reflexión por parte de los formadores. Se identificaron dos grandes finalidades en la enseñanza de la reflexión: mejorar la comprensión de la práctica e innovarla. Aunque en ambos casos los formadores utilizaron la experiencia de los docentes como punto central para la enseñanza de la reflexión; también se identificaron algunas diferencias en el uso del conocimiento académico. Además, los formadores se enfocaron mayoritariamente en el cuestionamiento, problematización y resolución de la práctica en análisis de casos, más que en la comprensión en profundidad de situaciones de la práctica. En suma, el estudio aporta resultados para la comprensión y mejora de la formación de la reflexión en la educación superior.

Los docentes son profesionales expertos en continua evolución. Por ello, es crucial evaluar su preparación desde el comienzo de su carrera profesional, por lo que el análisis de su formación inicial es esencial con vistas a ajustar los procesos educativos a las nuevas demandas históricas y sociales. En esta investigación, nos centramos en la inteligencia emocional como elemento clave a considerar en la docencia universitaria. Así, mediante el análisis de las guías docentes de los Grados de Maestro en Educación Infantil y Educación Primaria de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), se ha pretendido analizar cómo se incluye la inteligencia emocional en la planificación docente. Para tal fin, se ha realizado un juicio de expertos con 15 participantes y también se han revisado las Memorias Verificadas de los Grado de Maestro en la UCLM. Todo ello ha permitido establecer la conexión entre las habilidades requeridas en el Grado de Maestro y los aspectos emocionales. También, se ha logrado identificar las áreas y menciones que están más y menos relacionadas con la inteligencia emocional, organizándose en categorías y grupos. Por último, se propone una propuesta de actuación en conformidad con las leyes educativas vigentes ya que, a modo de conclusión, se hace evidente la necesidad de hacer algunos ajustes en la capacitación de los profesores en lo que respecta a inteligencia emocional.

Teacher training is directly related to the quality of the educational process. In recent years, the contributions of pedagogical support have begun to be valued as an important element to improve students' skills. The objective of this study is to measure the effectiveness of a system of pedagogical support actions through the improvement of three key competencies: reading, mathematics, and socio-emotional in sixth grade students of the “Zoila Ugarte de Landívar” General Basic School, in Ecuador. A quasi-experimental study was carried out for four months, in which two groups were worked, one experimental and one control, with 52 students from the school under study. After performing a repeated measures ANOVA, the results show a significant effect of the intervention between the experimental and control groups on reading competence, mathematical competence and attitude towards studying (socio-emotional competence). These discoveries suggest the importance of pedagogical support in schools, with an impact on educational policies, teacher training and school activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The digital competences of teachers are a key variable for integrating ICT into the teaching-learning process. Their development has become one of the main training problems affecting the educational field in general, and even more so in the training of Health Science professionals. The purpose of the study was to find out the main barriers to technological training encountered by secondary school teachers who teach health education subjects in Seville (Spain) and its province. The research design is based on a descriptive ethnographic research perspective, where 60 interviews were analysed. Among the conclusions we can highlight that the main barriers that hinder the implementation of technological training activities in health science teachers are determined primarily by economic factors, time and attitude of teachers. The study analyzes the construction of teaching knowledge and its relationship with individual experience through a critical-collaborative action research approach, focusing on sensitive listening. Conducted in a primary school within the municipal network of Santa Maria/RS, the research involved eight teachers. The theoretical reflection is based on Maturana and Varela (2001) and Tardif (2014). The results indicate that the teacher's attitude and the way they conduct their pedagogical practice are strongly linked to lived experiences and highlight the importance of continuous in-school training as a powerful moment for teachers to interact with peers, share concerns, face challenges, and reframe their knowledge and practices. One of the main challenges in teacher education is the integration of the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and adaptive capacities necessary to handle the complexities of teaching. Research in practice-based teacher education --focusing on 'pedagogies of practice' (representation, decomposition, and approximation)-- offers a framework for achieving this integration. This approach identifies the practices that every novice teacher should master by the end of their initial training, along with the methodologies to develop them during their education. This special issue, Towards Practice-Based Teacher Education, presents seven empirical studies conducted in Latin America (6) and Europe (1), addressing this training from diverse perspectives and methodologies. The studies focus on phenomena such as modeling by teacher educators, the development of the skill of 'noticing', video observation, simulations, tele-immersion, and the university-school relationship. Teacher Education Programs (TEPs) face the issue of how to support preservice teachers in developing teaching skills that link theory and practice. The core practices approach offers a relevant alternative, including the definition of focal teaching practices and pedagogies of practice to promote them. One such pedagogy consists of approximations, through which preservice teachers can try out practices in low-stakes settings. These pedagogies are usually time intensive and can require substantive course restructuring. This raises the question of whether teaching simulations can be productively used in less intensive settings, and how these are perceived by students. We present the results of a quasi-experimental study conducted with preservice secondary teachers in Germany. The study assesses a novel teaching simulation and compares it with an established video-based analysis learning setting. Both conditions were implemented as part of a university-based seminar accompanying a five-month field experience focused on fostering productive classroom dialogue. The research aim was to assess the new simulation where a preservice teacher was meant to practice conducting productive classroom dialogue, which was videoed and then analyzed collectively (n=180 students). We compared this setting with a video-based analysis of classroom dialogue (n=100 students). The research questions focus on students' learning perceptions and self-efficacy perceptions around dialogic teaching, which we addressed using pre-post surveys. Our main results show that preservice teachers in the simulation condition had significantly more positive perceptions of the learning setting, including reported knowledge gains and intention to apply. Meanwhile, both groups had equally high levels of self-efficacy regarding classroom dialogue from pre to post-test with no significant interaction effect in favor of the IG. We discuss the results, which offer support for the proposed intervention, considering previous research on learning to teach in a teaching practicum. The diversity of circumstances that occur in classrooms requires teachers to be capable of exercising professional judgment when assessing and addressing students' needs. A qualitative approach study was carried out between 2018 and 2023 to analyze how future teachers perceive the development of these critical skills through didactic discussions based on the analysis of classroom videos. This study examined multiple cases (n =5) based on discussions from the observation of videos of three lessons in a training course in teaching English as a foreign language at a private institution located in Montevideo, Uruguay. Using surveys (n=33) and semi-structured interviews with the participants (n=8), we investigated, using discourse analysis techniques, how they conceive the discussions of lesson videos to develop skills linked to the perception and implementation of pedagogical aspects. The two aspects perceived to be most important about video selection were authenticity and variety. We found the instances significant for the student teachers since they noted the importance of flexibly relating the theories learned with emerging needs. The findings of this research show that didactic discussions based on the use of videos of educational cases in teacher training contribute to developing skills linked to the perception of needs so that informed pedagogical decisions can be made considering the complex teaching and learning processes. This work deals with images of nature, their possible meanings and uses, within the framework of teacher training. For this, first the images included in the texts of the Moravian theologian and pedagogue Juan Amós Comenio (1592-1670) and the place of nature - divine creation - as a pedagogical model are analyzed. Then, the work of the Brazilian artist and educator Rosana Paulino (1967) is presented, whose production questions the nature/humanity relationship in the West and calls for subverting the dichotomies of colonialist modernity. The counterpoint between both authors is an invitation to re-look at the images that come to us from tradition and to create, collectively, other/new/more images and imaginaries for education. This article shares some reflections built from a series of ongoing studies, aimed at investigating teaching practices and training experiences from a (self) biographical-narrative approach. The line of research that brings them together seeks to dispute pedagogical meanings, promote processes of co-training and professional development among peers, and intervene in the educational debate through discursive practices and pedagogical works written by teachers and teachers in training. The notion of bio-library allows us to investigate the processes of identity construction and the formation of a textual corpus that collects and mobilizes the voices of those who find in the narrative records a peculiar way of investigating and enriching the pedagogical field, highlighting its historical character, dynamic, contingent and localized. This study deals with teacher training and the teaching-learning process of literacy in the Elementary and Middle School Sublevels of the Aníbal González Álava Educational Unit. The research arises from the identification of academic difficulties in students who do not master the literacy process and the training of teachers, sometimes separated from Educational Sciences. Research questions were formulated from the problem: What is the theory related to teacher training and the teaching-learning process of literacy? What is the level of academic training of the teachers? What is the teacher training plan for the development of the teaching-learning process of literacy? The objective is to specify a teacher training plan for the development of the process described above. Methods from the theoretical level were used to approach the object-field of research, empirically a survey, mathematically processed, was used. The results reflected that several teachers do not have training in Educational Sciences and are unaware of the management of the teachinglearning process of literacy. La historia reciente de la educación sexual en la Argentina tuvo un giro importante desde el retorno democrático, a fines de 1983. De ser un tema silenciado, privativo únicamente de la educación familiar o bien reservado a ciertas voces “expertas”, la educación de la sexualidad en la postdictadura formó parte de las agendas de las gestiones educativas, y tuvo desarrollos de iniciativas estatales como en el caso de la provincia de Buenos Aires. Este trabajo se interesa por conocer las políticas, las acciones y el enfoque educativo que se difundieron en torno a la educación sexual desde la Dirección General de Escuelas y Cultura de la provincia, entre 1984 y 1987. Se explora, para ello, la proyección del Plan provincial de Educación Sexual (1984), los fundamentos y acciones de la Comisión Especial de Educación Sexual (1985-1987) y el material educativo Una educación para SER (1986). El enfoque pedagógico propuesto fue el integral, que pretendió renovar la definición misma de sexualidad, y que coexistió también con discursos sanitario-preventivos. Finalmente, desde la política educativa provincial, la educación sexual fue significada en esos años como un compromiso educativo colectivo, que debía debatirse y desarrollarse desde los principios de la participación democrática.

Las nuevas realidades culturales por las cuales atraviesa la escuela precisan que el educador revise su propia formación. El surgimiento de una nueva racionalidad impone novedosas formas de organizar el contenido escolar y de repensar cada vez más el equipamiento cognitivo que constituye el saber pedagógico. En un mundo marcado por la incertidumbre y el caos social, encontrar puntos de encuentros en las instituciones responsables de formar a las presentes y futuras generaciones de docentes constituye un tema vital. Es necesario explorar y construir otros horizontes de comprensión dentro de una realidad humana y social compleja y difusa. En atención a lo expuesto, resulta imperioso indagar, dialogar y reflexionar sobre el cometido social de la educación que corresponde asumir a la pedagogía de estos tiempos.

En este artículo se presenta una indagación sobre las prácticas cotidianas de lectura de estudiantes de Profesorado en Educación Primaria. Buscando discutir sentidos estigmatizantes sobre la cantidad y calidad de lecturas que realiza esta población estudiantil se analizan las prácticas cotidianas de lectura de tres mujeres estudiantes de este profesorado. Los principales resultados de la investigación permiten sostener que las/os estudiantes de magisterio realizan múltiples prácticas cotidianas de lectura, que éstas se encuentran asociadas a sentidos y relaciones sociales diversas y que resultan culturalmente valiosas en el marco de las condiciones concretas de vida de los sujetos.

El presente artículo constituye un ejercicio de des-recomposición de la experiencia de cursada inaugural del espacio curricular Práctica Profesional, correspondiente al quinto año del profesorado en Ciencias de la Educación de la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. Se ofrece como un relato del desarrollo de la propuesta, reponiendo condiciones contextuales, definiciones y criterios que orientaron el movimiento que significó la puesta en marcha de la materia que oficia de corolario de la carrera. En el devenir del relato, el escrito caracteriza la asignatura en el marco del plan de estudios del profesorado, explicita los fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos que sustentan la propuesta y describe los dispositivos de formación que se diseñaron, atendiendo las condiciones contextuales en las que se llevó adelante la cursada.

Este artigo objetiva identificar a expressão das categorias da didática histórico-crítica nos registros reflexivos de residentes do Programa Residência Pedagógica do curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). O estudo caracteriza teoricamente a Pedagogia Histórico Crítica, explora sua unidade com a psicologia histórico-cultural e discute o papel dos registros reflexivos na prática docente. Para tanto, foram analisados os registros reflexivos de quatro residentes participantes do Programa Residência Pedagógica, do curso de Pedagogia, modalidade presencial. A análise dos registros indicou uma aproximação com a Pedagogia Histórico Crítica, evidenciando a dimensão ontológica do fenômeno educativo, a transmissão de conhecimentos e a dialética das relações de ensino-aprendizagem. Os resultados indicam a aproximação da RP nº1/2020 UFLA com as categorias para uma didática histórico-crítica, apontando assim caminhos para a promoção de práticas educativas alinhadas aos pressupostos histórico-críticos. As ações de estudos e práticas empreendidas no contexto da Residência Pedagógica Pedagogia evidenciadas, a partir dos registros reflexivos realizados pelas residentes, denotam a preocupação com a dimensão crítica na aprendizagem da docência e a construção de bases sólidas para o desenvolvimento do ensino na educação básica, reafirmando as premissas da PHC como perspectiva teórico-metodológica que impulsiona práticas de ensino críticas e comprometidas com a realidade escolar e com todos que dela fazem parte.
