We have searched for high Pt (>40 GeV/c) jet events in ppbar collisions at the Fermilab TEVATRON (S**1/2 = 1800 GeV/c2) which have large pseudo-rapidity differences between the jets and are consistent with zero particle production from the underlying event. Preliminary analysis indicates that a significant fraction of these events with "voids" are present. - Abstract
Inclusive production of (D0, D̄0) and D± mesons have been observed in e+e- annihilation at 29 GeV. The signals correspond to R values of R(D0+D̄0)=3.25±1.2 and R(D++D-)=1.35±0.6. D*± production is also observed via the process D*+→D0π+ and its charge conjugate. The D and D* production rates are compared. © 1983 The American Physical Society.

- Abstract
We have measured the process e+e-→μ+μ- at s =29 GeV using the High Resolution Spectrometer at SLAC PEP. The forward-backward charge asymmetry is Aμμ=-(4.9±1.5±0.5)% based on 5057 events. A subsample of 3488 μ+μ- events in the angular range cosθ170 GeV and Λ->146 GeV at 95% C.L. © 1985 The American Physical Society.

- Abstract
Data from the high-resolution spectrometer at PEP have been used to study the inclusive production of mesons and F mesons decaying into . Fragmentation functions and cross sections are presented and compared to existing data. The total cross section at 29 GeV is 406 pb. The observed F signal in the region z>0.4, given the assumption that R(F)[R(F)+R(D)]=0.15, corresponds to an F branching ratio of (3.31.1)%. The measured F mass is 196333 MeV/c2. © 1985 The American Physical Society.

- Abstract
We have observed inclusive production of D0 and D+ mesons, and their charge conjugates, in e+e- annihilation at 29 GeV on the basis of a data sample of 106 pb-1. These signals correspond to R values of R (D0+D0)=1.8±0.5 and R (D++D-)=1.2±0.4. Taking the D+ and D0 data together, we measure a charge asymmetry of A=-0.08±0.12 for charmed quarks. A comparison of R (D+D) with R (D*+D*) obtained via the process D*+D0+ gives a DD* ratio of 1.0-0.2+0.3, indicating that direct D* production dominates over direct D production. © 1984 The American Physical Society.

- Abstract
Data from the High Resolution Spectrometer at the SLAC storage ring PEP have been used to study the inclusive production of baryons and mesons. Time-of-flight measurements are used to identify the charged hadrons. Neutral hadrons are identified from effective-mass peaks associated with their decay into two charged particles. Cross sections and other inclusive production characteristics are presented for , K, and K0 (K0) mesons, and for the baryons (antibaryons) p (p) and (). The ratio of the inclusive cross section to the point cross section for the K0 and K0 mesons is R(K0,K0)=6.150.130.25, and for and , R()=0.8460.0360.085. The neutral-hadron differential cross sections are compared with the predictions of the Lund string model. © 1987 The American Physical Society.

We report on a search for the trilepton decay signature from the associated production of supersymmetric gaugino pairs, {tilde {chi}}{sup {plus_minus}}{sub 1}{tilde {chi}}{sub 2}{sup 0}, within the context of minimal supersymmetric models that conserve R parity. This search uses 95 pb{sup {minus}1} of p{bar p} data taken at {radical}(s)=1.8 TeV with the D0 detector. No evidence of a trilepton signature has been found, and a limit on the product of cross section times branching fraction to trileptons is given as a function of {tilde {chi}}{sup {plus_minus}}{sub 1} mass. {copyright} {ital 1998} {ital The American Physical Society}

We report on a search for second generation leptoquarks (LQ) produced in pp̄ collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab. Second generation leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay to either μ or ν and either a strange or a charm quark (q). Limits are placed on σ(pp̄ → LQLQ → μν + jets) as a function of the mass of the leptoquark. For equal branching ratios to μq and νq, second generation scalar leptoquarks with a mass below 160 GeV/c2, vector leptoquarks with anomalous minimal vector couplings with a mass below 240 GeV/c2, and vector leptoquarks with Yang-Mills couplings with a mass below 290 GeV/c2, are excluded at the 95% confidence level. © 1999 The American Physical Society.

We have studied tt̄ production using multijet final states in pp̄ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.8 TeV, with an integrated luminosity of 110.3 pb-1. Each of the top quarks with these final states decays exclusively to a bottom quark and a W boson, with the W bosons decaying into quark-antiquark pairs. The analysis has been optimized using neural networks to achieve the smallest expected fractional uncertainty on the tt̄ production cross section, and yields a cross section of 7.1±2.8 (stat)±1.5 (syst) pb, assuming a top quark mass of 172.1 GeV/c2. Combining this result with previous DØ measurements, where one or both of the W bosons decay leptonically, gives a tt̄ production cross section of 5.9±1.2 (stat)±1.1 (syst) pb. ©1999 The American Physical Society.

This paper presents the first measurement of inclusive J/ψ production cross section in the forward pseudorapidity region 2.5 ≤ |ηJ/ψ| ≤ 3.7 in pp̄ collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV. The results are based on 9.8 pb-1 of data collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The inclusive J/ψ cross section for transverse momenta between 1 and 16 GeV/c is compared with theoretical models of charmonium production.

A measurement of the mass of the W boson is presented which is based on a sample of 5982 W → eν decays observed in pp̄ collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV with the D∅ detector during the 1992-1993 run. From a fit to the transverse mass spectrum, combined with measurements of the Z boson mass, the W boson mass is measured to be MW = 80.350±0.140(stat)±0.165(syst)±0.160(scale) GeV/c2. Detailed discussions of the determination of the absolute energy scale, the measured efficiencies, and all systematic uncertainties are presented.

We have searched for first generation scalar leptoquark (LQ) pairs in the ev + jets channel using pp̄ collider data (∫ L dt ≈ 115 pb-1) collected by the DO experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron during 1992-1996. The analysis yields no candidate events. We combine the results with those from the ee + jets and vv + jets channels to obtain 95% confidence level (C.L.) upper limits on the LQ pair production cross section as a function of mass and of β, the branching fraction to a charged lepton. Comparing with the next-to-leading order theory, we set 95% C.L. lower limits on the LQ mass of 225, 204, and 79 GeV/c2 for β= 1, 1/2, and 0, respectively.
