The DAΦNE LINAC could produce bunches of electrons and positrons for the Beam Test Facility. The BTF is used usually for single particle test of detectors but is able to receive up to 10¹⁰ particles per second for irradiation test. The DAΦNE LINAC working point could be deeply changed to obtain low energy beam up to 160 MeV with a primary electron beam with enough pulse charge that fulfills irradiation test requirements. A current monitor was installed in the BTF to provide the particle charge per bunch at the users and a flag with the image acquisition system is in operation too, in order to provide a more precise characterization of the beam delivered for the experiments. The Singularity project, led by National Laboratories of Frascati of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN-LNF), aim to develop automated machine-independent middle-layer to control accelerator operation through machine learning (ML) algorithms like Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Cluster integrated with accelerator���s sub-systems. In this work we will present architecture and of the middle-layer made with main purpose to drive user requests through the control framework backend and allow users to enjoy a better User Experience (UX) handling system performances without facing problems due to the interaction with control system. We will report the strategy to develop autonomous operation control with RL algorithms together with the fault detection capability improved by Clustering approach as breakdown and waveguide and RF cavity thermal stability monitor. DAΦNE, the Frascati lepton collider, has completed the preparatory phase in order to deliver luminosity to the SIDDHARTA-2 detector. DAΦNE colliding rings rely on a new interaction region, which implements the well-established Crab-Waist collision scheme, and includes a low-beta section equipped with newly designed permanent magnet quadrupoles, and vacuum components. Diagnostics tools have been improved, especially the ones used to keep under control the beam-beam interaction. The horizontal feedback in the positron ring has been potentiated in order to achieve a higher positron current. Luminosity diagnostics have been also updated so to be compatible with the new detector design. The commissioning was initially focused on recovering the optimal dynamical vacuum conditions, outlining alignment errors, and optimizing ring optics. For this reason, a detuned optics, featured by relaxed low-b condition at the interaction point and Crab-Waist Sestupoles off, has been applied. In a second stage a low-b optics has been implemented to test collisions with a preliminary setup of the experiment detector. In 2020 the INFN-LNF LINAC and BTF have performed long-term runs for test beams and fixed-target experiments. The scientific needs of these items have been leading our groups to continuous improvements of the LINAC operative range both in pulse time at maximum energy and on the minimum transported energy, until the reset to DAΦNE injections at the beginning of 2021. Personnel safety system for particle accelerator facility involves different devices to monitor gates, shielding doors, dosimetry stations, search and emergency buttons. In order to achieve the proper reliability, these systems are developed compliant with functional safety standards involving stable technologies like relays and, recently, PLC. This work will report benchmark of a new FPGA-based system, developed at INFN-LNF, from the design to the validation phase of the prototype currently operating inside the linac bunker of Dafne. In order to achieve the compliance with functional safety standard (IEC-61508), NCRP report 88 on "Radiation Alarms and Access Control Systems" and ANSI report 43 on "Radiation Safety for the Design and Operation of Particle Accelerator", this novel instrument has been designed capable of: devices monitoring in real-time, dual modular redundancy, fail-safe, fool-proof and multi-node architecture on optical link. In March 2018 DAΦNE, the Italian electron-positron Phi-factory based on the Crab Waist collision concept, has successfully completed the challenging experimental run for the KLOE-2 detector. At present, installation of the SIDDHARTA-2 detector is underway in order to start data acquisition with the new experimental apparatus in the year 2019. In this paper we review the collider performances during the KLOE-2 run in terms of the achieved beam currents, the peak and integrated luminosity and encountered beam dynamics challenges. Dafne, the Italian lepton collider, is running since more than a decade thanks to a radical revision of the approach used to deal with the beam-beam interaction: the Crab-Waist collision scheme. In this context, the collider has recently completed a long term activity program aimed at providing an unprecedented sample of data to the KLOE-2 detector, a large experimental apparatus including a high intensity solenoidal field strongly perturbing ring optics and beam dynamics. The KLOE-2 run has been undertaken with the twofold intend of collecting data for rare decay flavor physics studies, and testing the effectiveness of the new collision scheme in the presence of a strongly perturbing experimental apparatus. DAΦNE, the Frascati lepton collider working at the c.m. energy of the F resonance, continues to be a very suitable infrastructure to realize experiments aimed at studying elementary particles and nuclear physics. The DAΦNE Beam Test Facility (BTF) is operational in Frascati since 2003. In the last years the beam diagnostics tools have been completely renewed and the services for users have been largely improved. We describe here the new transverse beam diagnostics based on new GEM TPC detectors and MEDIPIX Silicon pixel detectors, the renewed DAQ system and the data caching system based on MEMCACHED and the integration of the new sub-systems in the new data-logging. The DAΦNE BTF (beam-test facility) can provide electrons and positrons, tuning at runtime different beam parameters: energy (from about 50 MeV up to 750 MeV for e⁻ and 540 MeV for e+), intensity (from single particle up to 10¹⁰/bunch) and pulse length (in the range 1.5-40 ns) up to 49 Hz, depending on the operations of the DAΦNE collider. The beam spot and divergence can be adjusted, down to sub-mm sizes and 2 mrad (downstream of the vacuum beam-pipe exit window), matching the user needs. We describe of the BTF beam transverse monitor systems based on FitPIX detectors, operating in bus synchronization mode externally timed to the BTF beam. We also describe our custom software allowing the acquisition and synchronization of the beam diagnostics with the users data, using TCP/IP calls to MEMCACHED. In the last 11 years, the Beam-Test Facility (BTF) of the DAΦNE accelerator complex, in the Frascati laboratory, has gained an important role in the EU infrastructures devoted to the development of particle detectors. The facility can provide runtime tuneable electrons and positrons beams in a range of different parameters: energy (up to 750 MeV for e⁻ and 540 MeV for e+), charge ( up to 10¹⁰ e /bunch) and pulse length (1.4-40 ns). The bunch delivering rate is up to 49 Hz and the beam spot and divergence can be adjusted, down to sub-mm sizes and 2 mrad, in order to achieve user needs. In these paper we are going to describe the new implementation of the secondary BTF beam transverse monitor systems based on WIDEPIX FITPIX detectors, operating in bus synchronization mode externally timed to BTF beams. Our software layout includes a data producer, a live-data display consumer and a MEMCACHED caching server. This configuration offers to BTF users a vary fast approach to the transverse data using TCP/IP calls to MEMCACHED with an easy and fast software integration on users DAQ. The PADME experiment* proposes a search for the dark photon (A') in the e⁺e⁻ -> gamma A' process in a positron-on-target experiment, exploiting the positron beam of the DAΦNE linac at the Frascati National Laboratory. The linac could provide a number of positrons as high as 10⁹/pulse in a 200 ns pulse but the number of positrons for PADME is limited below 10⁵/pulse in order to keep the pile-up probability in the calorimeter low enough. The PADME experiment is indeed limited by the low duty factor (10e-5=200ns/20ms). An alternative proposal to use the DAΦNE positron ring as a linac pulse stretcher, by injecting each pulse into the ring and extracting it by a slow resonant extraction using the m/3 resonance, is described in this paper. This allows to distribute the positrons of a linac pulse in a much longer pulse (0.2 - 0.5 ms) increasing the duty factor up to ~ 2%. The required modifications of the DAΦNE positron transfer line and main ring are presented. A dedicate lattice for the ring has been designed and tracking of the positrons in the ring has been performed to optimize extraction parameters and give a preliminary estimate of the extracted beam characteristics., Proceedings of the 9th Int. The DAΦNE Beam Test Facility (BTF) is operational in Frascati since 2003. In the last years the beam diagnostics tools have been completely renewed and the services for users have been largely improved. A synthesis of the “!CHAOS: a cloud of controls” project and its application to accelerators and large experiments will be presented. We will describe here how the !CHAOS project has evolved from a candidate for the SuperB accelerator control system to a facility for IT distributed infrastructures. !CHAOS is currently, not only suitable for accelerators and large High Energy Physics (HEP) experiments, but is also applicable to other contexts, such as social and industrial applications. A new electron gun system has been developed for DAΦNE LINAC, and put into operation since January 2014. Several elements of the system were upgraded, including a new grid pulser, an improved bias voltage system and a renewed cathode socket. The new LINAC gun has now a wider range of parameters, i.e. the emission pulse length spans from 1.4ns up to 40ns, while the better control of the grid and bias voltage allows a maximum peak current of 5A with a pulse repetition rate of 50 Hz. This paper describes the details of the pulser, the power supply, the socket, all the service components of the upgraded gun and its integration in the main LINAC control system. The LINAC of the DAΦNE complex is in operation since 1996, both as injector of the e⁺ e⁻ phi-factory, and, since 2003, for the extraction of electron beam to the Beam Test Facility. In the last years, many improvements has been developed in different sub-systems of the LINAC, aiming at a wider, tunable range of beam parameters, in particular the pulse time width and the pulse charge. A long term measurement campaign has been recently started to characterize the LINAC performance after that many sub-systems has been overhauled and improved, starting from RF power (i.e. klystron substitution, modulator re-newing, RF driver layout, SLED tuning) as well as the timing system, magnets, cooling, vacuum, control system and energy/position diagnostics. The DAΦNE Beam Test Facility delivers electron and positron beam with a wide spread of parameters in charge, energy, transverse dimensions and time width. Thanks to the recent improvements of the diagnostics, all the beam parameters have been measured and optimized. In particular we report here some results on beam transverse size, divergence, and position stability for different energy and intensity configurations. In the first six months of 2013 the KLOE detector has been upgraded inserting new detector layers in the inner part of the apparatus, around the interaction region. The long shutdown has been used to undertake a general consolidation program aimed at improving the Φ-Factory operation stability and reliability and, in turn, the collider uptime. In this context several systems have been revised and upgraded, new diagnostic elements have been installed, some critical components have been modified and the interaction region mechanical support structure design has been developed to improve its mechanical stability and to deal with the weight added by the new detector layers., Proceedings of the 5th Int. The transfer lines of the DAΦNE accelerator complex have been revised and optimized in view of the forthcoming KLOE-2 physics run. The transfer lines consolidation activities involved low level systems, diagnostics tools and control system hardware modifications for the magnetic element switching polarity during the injection procedure. Transfer lines optics has been reviewed and optimized as well by a systematic study based on a MAD-X model. The work done determined a substantial improvement in the transfer lines stability and reproducibility, speeded up the injection procedure with a considerable reduction on the background hitting the experimental detector during the beam injection process., Proceedings of the 5th Int.
