The study explores the safety and efficacy of preemptive treatment with high-dose fluticasone in reducing the severity of recurrent virus-induced wheezing in children aged 1 to 6 years. Evidence suggests preemptive treatment with fluticasone, in comparison with placebo, reduces the use of rescue oral corticosteroids, but long-term use is associated with smaller gains in height and weight.
