Little is known about how adolescent mothers use social media and the Internet, especially to access health information.In this cross-sectional, descriptive study, adolescent mothers were recruited from an academic medical center after the birth of their child (n = 94) or from a state-funded, home visitation program during the first year after birth (n = 91). They completed the Pew Internet Survey: 37 questions related to use of social media and Internet, particularly in regard to obtaining health information.All adolescent mothers used a computer and almost all went online. Most accessed the Internet by cell phone (67.4%) and used social media. The health topics searched most frequently were pregnancy/birth control (85.8%), sexually transmitted diseases (n = 134, 72.6%) and HIV (66.3%). Response to survey questions differed between the two groups (adolescent mothers surveyed after birth from academic medical center and adolescent mothers surveyed in the first postpartum year in the community).Adolescent mothers spend significant time on the Internet including searching for health information. Cell phones are their preferred methods for accessing the Internet, and they use social media. Thus, social media and the Internet are potentially feasible and acceptable vehicles to deliver health interventions to adolescent mothers.? 2014

Fusarium graminearum is one of the main causal agents of fusarium head blight (FHB) of wheat. F. graminearum population can be divided into two chemotypes based on the production of the trichothecenes deoxynivalenol (DON) and nivalenol (NIV). DON-producing isolates can be further distinguished on the basis of the predominant acetyl DON derivative that produce: 3-acetyl DON (3-AcDON) or 15-acetyl DON (15-AcDON). In this investigation, the isolates, collected between 2006 and 2007 from symptomatic spikes of durum wheat in several fields located in North of Italy, around Bologna (Emilia-Romagna region), were tested with a multiplex version of the chemotype-specific PCR proposed by Ward et al., 2002. We observed, during our studies, all the three chemotypes in particular 79% of the 66 isolates belonged to the 15-AcDON chemotype, 15 % to the 3-AcDON and 6% to NIV. 15-AcDON chemotype was the most representative. This is the first time that a population of F. graminearum, exclusively isolated from durum wheat from the area under investigation, was examined for chemotype. Taking into consideration the variability of Italian environmental characteristics, it is interesting to monitore fields from all over the country, especially where the durum wheat is more cultivated, to better understand the distribution of the chemotypes in Italy.

La verticillosi dell'olivo ha avuto in questi anni un'incidenza via via crescente negli areali vocati a questa coltivazione. Nel biennio 2003-2004, si è ritenuto importante, quindi, effettuare un monitoraggio preliminare per valutare la presenza di Verticillium dahliae anche in aree olivicole marginali. In generale, negli isolamenti effettuati è stata evidenziata una micoflora di tipo saprofitario e solo nel materiale vegetale proveniente dalle Marche sono state identificate colonie fungine riferibili a V. dahliae Kleb.

Nel biennio 2003-04 si è ritenuto importante effettuare un monitoraggio per valutare la presenza di Verticillium dahliae in aree olivicole marginali. Il reperimento di V. dahliae è risultato negativo da piante deperienti del Trentino e della Romagna, mentre si fa segnalazione del primo ritrovamento di V. dahliae nelle Marche, nella zona di Offida.

This paper presents the results of the Clean Sky ERaCLE project regarding the experimental investigation of a pusher propeller configuration installed on a wing. Experiments were conducted in the acoustically treated open section Pininfarina Wind Tunnel in Italy. Aerodynamic and aeroacoustic tests were carried out on a wide range of airframe configurations, changing the relative distance between the propeller axes, the distance with respect to the wing and the relative phasing. The influence of the incidence angle was also investigated. Different noise emissions from the installed inboard and outboard propellers were reported. The thrust influence on the installed inboard propeller was also studied, varying the blade pitch angle. The polar directivity is reported for emission angles from 40° to 140°. The directivity pattern is mainly influenced by the scattering from the wing, with the propeller contribution limited around the disc area and downstream. Furthermore, a beamforming source localization technique is applied to identify the dominant sound sources, found to be located at the propeller tips, in the areas where they interact with the wing.

La direttiva 2015/2302/UE del 25 novembre 2015 relativa ai pacchetti turistici e ai servizi turistici collegati modifica il Regolamento C.E. n. 2006/2004 sulla cooperazione tra le Autorità nazionali per la tutela dei consumatori e la direttiva 2011/83/UE sui diritti dei consumatori e abroga la direttiva 90/314/CEE sui viaggi, le vacanze ed i circuiti tutto compreso. L’analisi della normativa consente di affermare che il legislatore comunitario sia riuscito nell'intento di rafforzare i diritti dei viaggiatori, sia quando essi utilizzano i canali di acquisto tradizionali, sia quando effettuano le loro scelte attraverso Internet; sia se si determinano all'acquisto di pacchetti preconfezionati dai professionisti, sia quando decidono da soli la combinazione dei servizi che meglio rispondono alle loro reali esigenze. Il sistema di tutela appare rafforzato anche tenuto conto dall'enfasi conferita alla fase precontrattuale, con la previsione di obblighi informativi vincolanti, la cui mancanza, in continuità con la direttiva sui diritti dei consumatori (2011/83/UE) condiziona l’esistenza del contratto.

La prospettiva storica relativa alla tutela dell'aderente, a partire dalla disciplina che il Codice civile dedica alle condizioni generali di contratto fino all'odierna prospettiva consumeristica, viene ripercorsa attraverso l'analisi ragionata del contributo che in materia è stato offerto dalle pubblicazioni del prof. Vito Rizzo.

Un'indagine sulla struttura "complessa" del rapporto obbligatorio, condotta sulla base del sistema delle Schutzpflichten e delle Nebenpflichten, finalmente riconosciuto e codificato con la Schuldrechtsreform del 2002. Il saggio esamina i principali problemi che il tema dell'obbligazione pone anche con riferimento alla responsabilità civile, riflettendo su quegli istituti, nati in alcuni diritti eurocontinentali (obblighi di protezione e di prestazione, obbligazioni di sécurité “di mezzi” e “di risultato”, obbligazione senza obbligo primario di prestazione, contatto sociale o negoziale, culpa in contrahendo, contratto con effetti di protezione per terzi e stipulation pour autrui tacite, ecc.), ma in parte recepiti anche dal diritto italiano, al fine di verificare la correttezza del trapianto e di individuare la disciplina applicabile, sulla base degli attuali rapporti tra le responsabilità delittuale e contrattuale.

Sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) cultivation has increased in Italy and ≈30,000 ha are now in production. In the spring of 2006, a disease survey was conducted in orchards of central Italy. Decline symptoms of Prunus avium ‘Durone’ grafted on wild rootstocks of Prunus avium consisted of reduced tree vigor, yellowing of leaves, and development of root and collar rot. A reddish brown discoloration of the inner bark and wood was observed on symptomatic trees. Symptoms were recorded in three cherry orchards seasonally submitted to soil saturation conditions. In one orchard, symptoms were observed on approximately 30% of 170 surveyed trees. A Phytophthora species was consistently isolated on PARPH-V8 medium (2) from collar lesions of five cherry trees over nine trees randomly chosen among symptomatic trees in the three orchards. Colonies (20) were isolated and all appeared fluffy on potato dextrose agar and did not grow at 35°C. The morphological characteristics fit the descriptions of Phytophthora cryptogea Pethybr. & Lafferty (1). Sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacers region of isolates shared 100% homology with P. cryptogea (GenBank Accession Nos. EF418948.1, EF418943.1, and EF153671.1). Pathogenicity of two P. cryptogea isolates (AN1 and AN2, Accession Nos. EF661576 and EF661577, respectively) was tested by soil infestation in a growth chamber at 22°C using 15 1-year-old rooted seedlings of wild rootstock of Prunus avium for each isolate. Noninoculated seedlings (15) were used as negative controls. The inoculum was produced by growing isolates on autoclaved millet grains moistened with V8 juice for 4 weeks. Each plant was inoculated with 30 cm3 of inoculum per liter of soil. Each seedling was randomly assigned to isolates AN1, AN2, or the noninoculated control and arranged in a complete random design. All plants were flooded for 24 h every 2 weeks for 8 weeks. At the end of the experiment, all inoculated seedlings showed crown wilting and root rot. Control plants showed no symptoms. Percentage of necrotic lateral roots expressed as dry weight (±SE) was 19.9 ± 0.6, 17.5 ± 0.2, and 4.4 ± 0.5, respectively, for seedlings inoculated with isolates AN1, AN2, and controls (analysis of variance F = 7.48, P < 0.01). Values of inoculated seedlings were significantly different from the control plants with the Tukey Post-Hoc test. No difference in virulence was observed between the two isolates. P. cryptogea was always reisolated from the roots of inoculated plants. Although pathogenicity of P. cryptogea on sweet cherry has been reported in the United States and other European countries (3,4), to our knowledge, this is the first record of P. cryptogea on sweet cherry orchards in Italy. The presence of P. cryptogea in cherry orchards is of significant concern because of its aggressiveness to this host and woody hosts such as apple, apricot, peach, walnut, and kiwi.
