Tramvayın modern bir ulaşım aracı olarak İstanbul halkının hayatına girmesi, kimi davranış kalıplarının değişimini de beraberinde getirmiştir. Osmanlı başkentinde yan yana zengin fakir aynı mahallelerde birlikte yaşayan ahali, mevkili tramvay kullanımıyla ekonomik durumlarına göre sınıflandırıldıkları yeni bir tüketim davranışıyla karşı karşıya kalmıştır. Daha fazla para ödeyerek birinci mevkide seyahat etmenin sağladığı ayrıcalık, toplum kesimlerinin ekonomi temelli ayrışmasında öncü rol oynamıştır. Mevkilerine göre seyahatin dağılımının analizi ve semtler arası farklılıkların karşılaştırılması, dönemin toplum yapısı ve ekonomik durumu hakkında çok değerli veriler sunmaktadır. Birinci ve ikinci mevki tramvay araçlarının, İstanbul toplu ulaşımının ana omurgasını teşkil ettiği 1920-1930 yıları arasına ait Tramvay Şirketi’nin performansı, yolcuların mevkilerine göre farklılaşan konforlarının sınırlarını belirlemektedir. Çalışma dönemi boyunca ana güzergâhları oluşturan tramvay hatlarının her birinin grafikleri kendi özelinde değerlendirilerek, analizleri karşılaştırmalı olarak yapılmıştır. The introducion of the tram into the lives of the people of İstanbul as a modern form of transportation has generated a change in some behavioral patterns. The use of local trams have caused the people living together in the same neighborhoods, rich and poor, side by side in the Ottoman Capital to be faced with a new consumption behavior in which they were classified according to their economic status. The privilege of traveling in first class by paying more has played an important role in the economic based separation of parts of society. The analysis of the distribution of tram travels according to the passengers classes and the comparison of the differences between the districts provided substantial data about the social structure and economic conditions of the period. Between the years of 1920-1930, when first and second class trams were formed the backbone of public transportation in İstanbul, the performance of the Tram Company was determined by the comfort standards of passengers which were differed according to their classes. The trams which constituted the main routes of İstanbul throughout their working period, were evaluated separately and were analyzed comperatively. The issues such as the tram lines that were repeatedly opened and closed, the routes where the first class vehicles were insistently removed and the question of whether the use of first class vehicles were used by preference or by necessity have been examined in the light of documents and data.

A first year introductory internet and digital media module, taught as an in- and out-service across two Schools and covering a wide range of music courses, resulted in attendance and completion problems on a yearly basis. Students ranged from technical/programmers through to musicians and performers. Keeping them all engaged, motivated and appreciative of the learning materials was a challenge. The Flipped Classroom approach of front-loading weekly learning materials on to the VLE and providing more time for structured tutorial and computer lab work provided a distinct improvement in student marks and satisfaction scores. This Chapter assesses student marks against attendance and VLE engagement from this approach over one academic year. The learning materials provided a broad richness of weekly-themed resources including: screencasts; text; PowerPoint slides; screencasts of slideshows; scholarly articles; blog posts; web articles; and embedded YouTube videos. Students were encouraged to read broadly and assimilate as much as possible from the varying formats of presentation whilst having weekly structured tutorial content. The weekly content creation/linkages were designed to provide additional materials for those on the technical spectrum and additional content for the creatives. Student marks are compared against attendance and also against VLE engagement over the year. Whilst both indicate a benefit with increasing attendance and VLE engagement, there is a greater parity with the latter—attendance in class is less important than perusing the weekly resources. Students were able to perform to first class standards whilst engaging fully with the VLE and having a less-than 50% attendance in class. A broad section of students engaged with materials before the weekly lab sessions and some engaged with hardly any tutorial work at all. VLE access data also shows many students engaged to the early hours of the morning. The Flipped Classroom approach resulted in better module results as well as an improved classroom experience: greater focus on the learning materials and tutorial exercises; much less time surfing and social networking in class; and more time in class for one-to-one assistance.

For the support engineering of the deep and large foundation pit (DLFP) due to tomb protection, there are still no clear standards. The construction of DLFP will introduce large-range transverse and longitudinal disturbance on the stratum; therefore, it should be reinforced. In this paper, the reinforcement of the deep and large foundation pit of a national first-class key tomb protection project is studied. By comparing the existing supporting scheme and the stress conditions of the reinforced tomb, the combination reinforcement scheme by bored pile and pile slab retaining wall is found to be safe and feasible. Furthermore, according to the simulated bending moment, displacement, and axial force of the tomb by numerical analysis, an economic and reasonable mixed anchor support scheme is selected. In order to ensure the stability of the tomb during the supporting process of the foundation pit, a maximum value of 10 mm for the overall settlement of the tomb can be treated as the control benchmark based on the support and anchorage schemes in each specification and the in-site measured settlement values of the tomb. The determined support, anchorage schemes, and the control benchmark can provide certain technique guidance and research significance for the protection of similar ancient buildings in the future.

Twenty years ago, the American sociologist and feminist Barrie Thorne (1987) wrote a classic article entitled: ‘Re-visioning Women and Social Change: Where are the Children?’ In this article, Thorne argues that, even if feminist scholars have ‘revisioned women as active subjects in knowledge by granting them agency and diversity and by challenging diversions like public versus private’ (Thorne 1987: 85), both feminist and traditional knowledge remain deeply and unreflectively centered around the experiences of adults. Her point was that, in addition to the re-visioning of women, we need a similar revisioning of children – children’s lives, agency and their experiences. Simply put, she was arguing that more studies should focus on children’s perspectives. Thorne’s article was on my reading list when I took my first class in family sociology many years ago, and it is one of those articles that have followed me even since. While the COVID-19 pandemic has led to many disruptions in industrial value chains, the adoption of circular economy (CE) principles appears to be a commendable solution for more robust, resilient, and sustainable industrial supply chains. In this study, the standpoints and visions of two consecutive classes of engineering students – following the course “Circular Economy & Industrial Systems” at the Universite Paris-Saclay – are given on how they value CE strategies to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on industrial practices. Capturing and understanding the viewpoints of the engineers of tomorrow on such a pressing issue is key to train and provide them with the suitable methods and tools to build a more circular and sustainable society. At the end of their eight-week training class, including theoretical background on industrial ecology tools, workshops, and a hands-on project, part of the final exam included a one-hour essay in which the students had to argue their position on the following questions: (i) “Circular Economy as an answer to the COVID-19 crisis?” for the class of 2020, and (ii) “Circular Economy as an answer for green recovery and value chain resiliency in the COVID-19 context?” for the class of 2021. Interestingly, the evolution of viewpoints between the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis (exam conducted in May 2020 for the first class) and one year after (exam conducted in Mars 2021 for the second class) is discussed and illustrated. Also, the answers and insights provided by engineering students on these questions are positioned within the state-of-the-art literature on the topic. Last but not least, key recommendations and challenges on how CE could alleviate COVID-related disruptions and production shortages are synthesized in a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities) diagram.

This paper explores the micro-geographies of water access in the context of a first-class residential neighborhood of Accra served by the city’s networked infrastructure. We focus our analyses on how water is accessed and supplied to six kiosk compounds—privately owned, walled plots of land provisionally inhabited by urban dwellers living in kiosk-like structures with the (tacit) knowledge of the plot-owners. We document how kiosk inhabitants access pipe-born water, despite not being directly connected to the city’s network, through diverse configurations of actors, practices, and material set ups. Our findings suggest more attention should be paid to the micro-geographies of water distribution in networked neighborhoods as this contributes to more nuanced understandings of the uneven and diverse ways through which water is distributed in the context of Accra’s incremental urbanization. To analyze this diversity, we suggest combining the heuristic of heterogenous infrastructure configurations with the concept of water bricolage and using the plot as a unit of analysis. In order to better serve the construction and development of museum websites in developing countries, and based on the user's online experience perspective, an analytic hierarchy process suitable for the construction of a museum website for developing counties utility index evaluation system was used to measure the official websites of 115 national first-class museums in China, and reflect the level of museum website construction and service levels. The results revealed the following: there were obvious differences in the level of a Chinese museum construction sites, showing an overall Rugby-type distribution situation; content completeness and update speed are the most important factors that affect the measurement of the museum website's utility index, which fully reflects the importance of the comprehensiveness, accuracy and timeliness of the website information in the construction of a museum website; the influence is that museum websites are generally weak, with limited spread and power, and fails to form a large positive social influence; the construction problems are mainly concentrated in the two aspects of technology and operation. The display, safety and security technology of the museum website content is relatively backward, and most of the website backgrounds rarely have professionals for daily visitor interaction and operation, and maintenance. The results of the index measured by this system not only allows museum personnel to clearly understand the gaps in the development of museum websites, but also provides more clear requirements for future personnel to design, build and improve the overall usefulness of the website or a single utility index in a targeted manner, which has important guiding significance and practical value.

In this paper we treat metasequents—objects which stand to sequents as sequents stand to formulas—as first class logical citizens. To this end we provide a metasequent calculus, a sequent calculus which allows us to directly manipulate metasequents. We show that the various metasequent calculi we consider are sound and complete w.r.t. appropriate classes of tetravaluations where validity is understood locally. Finally we use our metasequent calculus to give direct syntactic proofs of various collapse results, closing a problem left open in French (Ergo, 3(5), 113–131 2016).

Despite the great success of inferring and programming with universal types, their dual—existential types—are much harder to work with. Existential types are useful in building abstract types, working with indexed types, and providing first-class support for refinement types. This paper, set in the context of Haskell, presents a bidirectional type-inference algorithm that infers where to introduce and eliminate existentials without any annotations in terms, along with an explicitly typed, type-safe core language usable as a compilation target. This approach is backward compatible. The key ingredient is to use strong existentials, which support (lazily) projecting out the encapsulated data, not weak existentials accessible only by pattern-matching.

Human capital has been acknowledged as a key driver for innovation, thereby promoting regional economic development in the knowledge era. University graduates from China’s “first-class” universities—the top 42 universities, included in the “double first-class” initiative, are considered highly educated human capital. Their migration patterns will exert profound impacts on regional development in China, however, little is known about the migration of these elite university graduates and its underlying driving forces. Using data from the 2018 Graduate Employment Reports, this study reveals that the uneven distribution of “first-class” universities and regional differentials largely shaped the migration of graduates from the university to work. Graduates were found aggregating in eastern first-tier cities, even though appealing talent-orientated policies aimed at attracting human capital had been launched in recent years by second-tier cities. Employing negative binomial models, this study investigates how the characteristics of the city of university and destinations affect the intensity of flows of graduates between them. The results showed that both jobs and urban amenities in the university city and destination city exert impacts on the inflow volume of graduates; whereas talent attraction policies introduced by many second-tier cities are found not to exert positive effects on attracting “first-class” university graduates presently. The trend of human capital migration worth a follow-up investigation, particularly given ongoing policy dynamics, and would shed light on the regional development disparities in China.

O objetivo do presente trabalho é relatar a experiência de elaboração do curso de Capacitação Docente em Ensino Digital. Em função da adesão ao Ensino Remoto Emergencial, precipitado pela pandemia de Covid-19, discentes do Grupo de Estudo em Didática Aplicada ao Aprendizado de Medicina propuseram-se a elaborar o curso com base na mentoria reversa. Após avaliação da demanda docente, foi elaborado um curso autoinstrucional, organizado em módulos no Google Classroom. Inscreveram-se no curso 572 docentes, que foram alocados por turmas, sendo a primeira composta por 138 professores. Apesar da alta demanda, a taxa de finalização da primeira turma foi baixa (3,6%). Sugere-se que o curto espaço de tempo entre o estudo e o início das atividades didáticas, a sobrecarga do professor e o maior interesse no funcionamento das plataformas a despeito de aspectos relacionados à didática tenham refletido nesta taxa. A mentoria reversa mostrou-se profícua para aquisição de habilidades e competências.

This research paper studies trends and hotspots of management internationalization in the sphere of higher education. The survey is based on CiteSpace visualization technology and on the corpus approach to studying keywords and annotations for 2010–2021 publications in 25 major higher education journals. Keywords analysis by CiteSpace showed that the hotspots of the management internationalization research are focused on postgraduate education management, on the projects «Double First Class University Plan», «Greater Bay Area», «Cooperation in Running Schools», etc. The future possible areas of investigation are the «local internationalization» of university management, the internationa lization of management in terms of international-level specialties and first-class universities’ nationalization, as well as the contradiction of the «spillover effect» between university management and cross-university cooperation. The corpus-based analysis showed that over the past 12 years the studies of internationalization of higher education and its mana gement have been carried out within the large-scale project «One Belt – One Road» and economic globalization. These studies include the modules of universities’ development, university education, academic research, school management strategy, etc. To effectively address the challenges faced by higher education internationalization management, the aut hors propose to take advantage of consistent teaching quality and to leverage regional and local resources, so as to create a multidimensional platform that would interconnect talents and ways to use them. Of no less importance, when summarizing such experience, is it to take into account the historical background, so that this platform, certainly engaging state policy, would allow a reform of higher education globalization for its further development.

A wealth of technology has evolved around relational databases over decades that has been successfully tried and tested in many settings and use cases. Yet, the majority of it remains overlooked in the pursuit of performance (e.g., NoSQL) or new functionality (e.g., graph data or machine learning). In this paper, we argue that a wide range of techniques readily available in databases are crucial to tackling the challenges the IT industry faces in terms of hardware trends management, growing workloads, and the overall complexity of a rapidly changing application and platform landscape. However, to be truly useful, these techniques must be freed from the legacy component of database engines: relational operators. Therefore, we argue that to make databases more flexible as platforms and to extend their functionality to new data types and operations requires exposing a lower level of abstraction: instead of working with SQL it would be desirable for database engines to compile, optimize, and run a collection of sub-operators for manipulating and managing data, offering them as an external interface. In this paper, we discuss the advantages of this, provide an initial list of such sub-operators, and show how they can be used in practice.

A study based on discrete choice experiments is conducted to investigate how bioecological attributes of birding sites enter the utility functions of specialized birders and affect their travel intentions. Estimates are based on generalized multinomial and scales-adjusted latent class models. We find that the probability of observing a rare or a new bird species, and the numerosity of species significantly affect birders’ choice destination. We also find that individual preferences among attributes are correlated and affected by scale and taste heterogeneity. We identify two latent classes of birders. In the first class fall birders attaching a strong interest in qualitative aspects of sites and low importance on distance from home. Class 2 groups birders addicted both on all qualitative and quantitative bioecological attributes of sites as well as on the distance. In general, we assess that the majority of birders prefer to travel short distances, also when the goal is viewing rare or new birds. Finally, we estimate marginal welfare changes in biological attributes of sites in terms of willingness to travel.

This research objectives are to analyze the students cooperative learning group Investigation model and three-phase technique; To analyze the visual students and auditory students; To analyze the interaction between group investigation model and students learning styles. This is a true-experimental research. The sample selection was done by random class technique as much as two classes, where the first class was taught by group investigation model and second class with three-phase technique. The instruments used are validated conceptual test and questionnaires. The data in this research were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the students using cooperative learning group investigation model was better than three-phase technique. Visual students shows better results than auditory students. There is an interaction between group Investigation model and students learning styles. This interaction shows visual students is dominant in group investigation model.

A common belief among students is that computing is a boring subject that lacks a connection to the real world. The first class (one 80-minute session) in an introductory computer science course may be an appropriate instance to combat such a belief. Previous studies have used coursewide interventions, e.g., games and physical/tangible devices to improve students’ motivation. However, although other approaches help motivate students, they may lack real-world context or have a high cost of deployment. This article proposes a novel real-world based approach to introduce programming concepts in the first class of the introductory computer science course. This approach, called Protobject based, is applicable to courses with over 100 students, has a low deployment entry barrier, requires low investment, and may be used creatively to implement different experiences. Furthermore, the Protobject-based approach has an equivalent motivational effect—at least in the short-term—to a Game-based approach even if it is entirely focused on the real world. The low requirements of the approach make it especially suitable for an 80-minute first class in an introductory computer science course. The Protobject-based approach has been preliminarily validated and compared to a pure game-based approach with a study with 376 participants, and we present the analysis of motivation questionnaires, a pre-test and post-test, and a homework assignment given to the students. We posit that more research into initiatives such as this one—that can show students how computer science can impact the real world around them—is warranted.

Curriculum is the basis of vocational training, its development level and teaching efficiency determine the realization of vocational training objectives, as well as the quality and level of major vocational academic training. Therefore, the development of curriculum is an important issue. And affect the school’s teaching capacity building. The analysis of the latest developments in the main courses shows that there are some deviations or irrationalities in the curriculum in some colleges and universities, and the general problems of understanding the latest courses, such as lack of solid foundation in curriculum setting, unclear direction of objectives, unclear reform ideas, inadequate and systematic construction measures, lack of attention to the quality of education. This paper explains the rules for the establishment of first-level courses, clarifies the ideas and priorities of architecture, and explores strategies for building university-level courses using knowledge of artificial intelligence and neural network algorithms in order to gain experience from them.

O objetivo deste estudo é analisar as percepções sobre o conceito de inclusão que estudantes participantes da primeira turma do curso de pós-graduação em Educação Física Escolar na Perspectiva Inclusiva apresentavam em suas justificativas de ingresso no curso. Partiu-se de uma perspectiva teórica que entende inclusão como um conceito processual, amplo, infindável e dialético em relação à exclusão, considerada como proposta de plena participação de todos e todas dentro do contexto social e educacional, contemplando suas singularidades e diversos caminhos para a aprendizagem. Metodologicamente, foi adotada a abordagem de análise documental e de conteúdo, numa pesquisa quali-quantitativa, analisando as justificativas de 30 estudantes participantes do curso.Foi observado que uma significativa parcela dos estudantes pesquisados não possuíam uma visão ampla sobre a inclusão; além disso, as respostas evidenciam o objetivo de formação para a melhoria das práticas, como oportunizador de qualidade profissional, especialmente possível num curso gratuito. Concluiu-se com esse estudo que é fundamental o incentivo a formação continuada e a luta pela valorização de cursos de pós-graduação gratuitos, democráticos e de qualidade nas Universidades públicas.

We classify all convex polygons whose area-bisecting deltoids or perimeter-bisecting deltoids are similar to those for a triangle, that is, they are tri-cusped and tri-concave-out closed curves. The additional condition that these two kinds of deltoids are segment-free makes no difference to the first classification and restricts the second to one that is much more similar to the first. We show that, up to similarity, the restricted second class is a complete system of representatives for the first class modulo affine equivalence.

We consider two classes of multiserver retrial queueing systems. For the first class, the rate of retrial requests depends on the number of customers on the orbit, and for the second class, the rate is constant. The input flow is assumed to be a regenerative one and the service time has an arbitrary distribution. Based on the synchronization of the input flow and an auxiliary service process, we establish necessary and sufficient stability conditions for models of both classes.

The sample in this study was selected by total sampling of two classes. The first class (first group) was treated by applying the RME approach based on ethnomatics with a sample size of 25 students and the second class (second group) was treated with conventional learning with a sample size of 25 students. The data in this study were analyzed using 2-way ANOVA. Due to social distance, a measure taken to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic from advancing, public and private schools went through a period of adaptation to maintain education through a hybrid system or just remote classes. With this in mind, the Geogebra course for teachers was created, with the aim of instructing and encouraging teachers of mathematics to make their classes more interactive and attractive to their students with the use of Geogebra. Die Digitalisierung durchdringt das ganze Unternehmen. Es braucht daher neue Modelle zur Erfolgsmessung von Infor­mationssystemen (IS), die über die bekannten Ansätze aus den 80/90er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts hinausgehen. Wie aber definiert man solche Modelle? Mit einem Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Projekt als Referenz, ist unser neues Triple „E“ Rating auf die Erfolgsmessung digitaler Technologien ausgerichtet und bringt dazu Effizienz-, Effektivitäts- und Erfahrungskriterien in einem Modell zusammen.

In this article, we present a research carried out with graduates of the Graduate Program of the Amazon Network of Education in Science and Mathematics (REAMEC). The objective was to analyze the perceptions of PhD graduated in the first group about the contributions of this training to their professional trajectory. A survey of the profile of 29 graduates using the Lattes curriculum of the graduates of the first class and interviews with eleven of them. The study showed that the doctoral training contributed to the inclusion in master's programs in the area of Science and Mathematics Education, for a significant increase in scientific production, and that new masters were constituted with the training of first class PhD. And, in spite of the network formation, the majority of the graduates remain isolated and do not keep the works and researches in network, demonstrating that the formation by itself is not determinant factor for such configuration., Neste artigo, apresentamos uma pesquisa realizada com egressos do Programa de Pós-Graduação da Rede Amazônica de Educação em Ciências e Matemática (REAMEC). O objetivo era analisar as percepções de doutores titulados na primeira turma sobre as contribuições desta formação para sua trajetória profissional. Foi realizado um levantamento do perfil de 29 egressos por meio de consultas aos currículos Lattes dos egressos e entrevista com onze deles. O estudo mostrou que a formação doutoral contribuiu para a inserção em programas de mestrado na área de Educação em Ciências e Matemática, para um significativo aumento da produção científica, e que novos mestrados foram constituídos com a formação dos doutores da primeira turma. E, apesar da formação em rede, em sua maioria, os egressos continuam isolados e não mantém os trabalhos e pesquisas em rede, demonstrando que a formação por si só não é fator determinante para tal configuração.

Esse artigo apresenta e discute os resultados alcançados no ano 2017 por alunos do Curso de Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal da Bahia, nas disciplinas Ateliê I (com alunos ingressantes) e Ateliê II (com alunos de segundo ano), que foram ministradas simultaneamente, compondo a disciplina Ateliê Digital Integrado. Esta atividade é desdobramento do Ateliê Digital (ARQ 016), realizado em 2016, quando foi ofertada a primeira turma desta disciplina para alunos de primeiro ano do curso tendo sido obtidos resultados muito signifi cativos. A proposta pedagógica desenvolvida partiu do pressuposto que o ensino da projetação arquitetônica em ambiente digital pode ser vantajoso desde as séries iniciais, e nesse caso, a oferta das duas turmas de Ateliê Digital (2016 e 2017) adotou a ampla utilização do computador como principal recurso para as pesquisas, desenvolvimento das atividades e a apresentação dos projetos. A metodologia de ensino-aprendizagem ativa buscou estimular o desenvolvimento da criatividade e a independência nos estudantes. Como resultado, foi verificado que o uso do computador potencializou a projetação, fazendo com que houvesse um tempo maior dedicado à discussão sobre a solução do problema arquitetônico, favorecendo o ensino e a aprendizagem. Ao final do Ateliê Digital Integrado (2017), os alunos demonstraram amadurecimento e autonomia na projetação, com propostas bem fundamentadas e bem desenvolvidas. O nível de desenvolvimento dos exercícios projetuais e a representação técnica foi compatível com as exigências do Ateliê I (estudo preliminar) e do Ateliê II (anteprojeto), sem quaisquer prejuízos à exploração da forma ou da criatividade. Este artigo apresenta os resultados, bem como questões relacionadas à operacionalização da atividade, integrando turmas de anos diferentes; discute algumas dificuldades encontradas no processo e como foram superadas, dentre outros aspectos. Com a discussão sobre esta prática inovadora e bem-sucedida, espera-se contribuir para acelerar a adoção de ferramentas computacionais no ensino de projeto em cursos de graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo.

Diante do significativo lugar do PROF-FILO na produção acadêmica para o ensino de filosofia enquanto área de pesquisa filosófica, este artigo objetiva desvelar alguns dos elementos metodológicos de pesquisas realizadas nesse mestrado profissional, elencando contribuições para o ensino de filosofia. Para tal, definimos como pergunta-problema: “o que é isso que se mostra de pesquisas qualitativas nas dissertações do PROF-FILO?”. Estabelecemos sete dissertações, produzidas pela primeira turma do PROF-FILO (2017-2019), como corpus investigativo. O guia de análise, que metaforicamente denominamos de nossa “peneira”, foi a Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). A partir dessas escolhas, três abordagens metodológicas apresentaram-se com significativa recorrência: pesquisa fenomenológica, pesquisa-ação e pesquisa intervenção. Apontamos, como elemento expressivo, a abertura para o interrogar e o compreender o mundo das vivências dos sujeitos envolvidos com o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da filosofia. Cortes de cabelo e brincadeiras temidas por serem potencialmente perigosas têm sido substituídos por ações solidárias e de integração durante a chegada dos novos alunos (calouros) ao ambiente universitário, desde a primeira turma ingressante em cursos de bacharelado tecnológicos da Universidade Federal de Alfenas/MG – Campus Poços de Caldas, no ano de 2009. Essa postura institucional objetiva coibir a cultura violenta e constrangedora da recepção dos calouros de engenharia pelos veteranos. Nesse sentido, o Projeto de Extensão Calouro Cidadão visa incentivar os discentes a participarem de ações de caráter social e educativo que, de forma prazerosa e construtiva, proporcionam momentos de integração e boas-vindas entre os discentes, além de humanizar o trote na universidade, por meio de atividades de cunho social, filantrópico e educativo, visando uma mudança positiva de atitudes entre calouros e veteranos. O projeto tem suas ações concentradas na primeira semana de aula de cada período do ano. Alguns exemplos de ações são palestras informativas sobre o funcionamento da Universidade, mutirão de arrecadação de alimentos e roupas, ida ao Lar São Vicente de Paulo, ida à APAE, ida ao hemocentro, dentre outras. Este projeto está pautado na indissociabilidade do ensino, pesquisa e extensão e, tendo em vista a aceitação e o interesse dos alunos em dar continuidade ao trabalho e de nunca terem ocorrido denúncias de trote violento dentro ou mesmo fora do campus, é possível perceber que o contexto de trote não violento está se enraizando na cultura do campus.
