Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that usually cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses, like the common cold. They were named according to the shape of glycoprotein spikes present on the viral surface and resembling to the solar corona. The first coronaviruses identified in human were HCoV 229E and the HCoV OC43, known also as β-coronavirus. This virus family has become increasingly important and received more attention within scientific community in the past two decades because of three new viruses that can cause serious, even fatal, disease. These are SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV), which emerged in November 2002 and caused severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS); Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) caused by the MERS coronavirus (MERS-CoV), identified in September 2012 and continues to cause sporadic and localized outbreaks. The third novel coronavirus to emerge in this century is called SARS-CoV-2. This chapter will describe the history of the coronavirus family discovery, emergence, and classification of the main coronaviruses.

Argania spinosa plays an important socioeconomic and ecologic role in different contrast situations like the arid zone located in the midwestern Morocco. This tree is used as a food and feed and as a resource for both pharmaceutical and cosmetic compounds. In the last decades, this genetic resource has faced significant threats from climate change, environmental factors, and human overexploitation. Argane tree genetics and genomics knowledge will help in counteracting these challenges. Studies have been undertaken to determine the Argane tree’s genetic diversity and depict ecological and sustainability concerns using morphological, biological, biochemical, and standardized molecular marker techniques. The development of affordable next-generation sequencing technologies allowed the sequencing and assembly of the A. spinosa genome using a hybrid de novo assembly approach combining short (Illumina) and long (PacBio) sequencing reads. The final draft genome comprises 75,327 scaffolds totaling 671 Mb. The 158,848 bp full genome of A. spinosa chloroplast (cp) was also assembled and annotated. This Argania spinosa reference genome constitutes a first initiative of the International Argania Genome Consortium toward a global integrative omics approach to bring insight into the biology and evolution of the Argane tree. Metabolic profiling studies on Argania fruit extracts have been conducted to extend the limit of biochemical detection. Prospective research will focus on transcriptome analysis for the sake of improving the prediction-based structural annotation of the genome and to understand the regulation of the genome expression. These genomics studies will facilitate efficient conservation of this endangered endemic tree and may enable genome-assisted cultivar breeding for genetic improvement and adaptation.

Recently, a large plantation has been established in Morocco, to reduce water and wind erosion, rangeland degradation, sand movement and to enhance the restoration of the vegetation cover. However, this plant material has unknown genetic characterization. In addition, several local classifications and morphological descriptions were used. The objective of this study was to analyze the genetic diversity using RAPD markers in a collection of 13 provenances of Moroccan Opuntia ficus indica (L.). Based on 13 random primers, the result showed that the level of diversity (h) and polymorphism varied according to the provenance. A high genetic differentiation was found between the provenances (Gst = 0.29), thus some loci were characteristic of certain provenances. These results can be used to characterize genetic resources of Morocco cactus pear, and to initiate a program of genetic improvement and selection.

Pengentasan kemiskinan merupakan salah satu dari 17 tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Upaya mengurangi jumlah pengangguran merupakan salah satu cara dalam pengentasan kemiskinan. Namun disisi lain pengurangan karyawan masih sering terjadi, beberapa perusahaan masih menggunakan pengurangan karyawan sebagai pilihan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah kondisi keuangan perusahaan berhubungan dengan pengurangan karyawan dan bagaimana implikasi pengurangan karyawan tersebut terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan populasi penelitian adalah seluruh perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia selama tahun 2015 sampai dengan tahun 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis uji analisis regresi berganda dan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari kondisi keuangan dan perubahan strategi perusahaan secara bersama-sama terhadap pengurangan karyawan. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya juga menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh dari pengurangan karyawan terhadap peningkatan kinerja keuangan perusahaan masih ambigu dan tidak jelas. Meskipun begitu hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pilihan efisiensi yang dilakukan dengan pengurangan karyawan tidaklah selamanya meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Perusahaan yang tidak melakukan pengurangan karyawan akan mengurangi angka pengangguran, yang dalam hal ini angka kemiskinan juga diharapkan dapat berkurang. Estimation of genetic parameters at SSR loci can be applied for assessing the differences between cultivars or populations, either for variety distinction or the management of genetic resources. In this study, 13 Opuntia ficus-indica cultivars were analyzed using 10 SSR markers selected for studying the genetic diversity among these chosen cultivars. Over the 10 SSR markers, a total of 45 reproducible bands were scored with an average of 4.5 alleles/locus, while the observed heterozygosity (Ho) values of amplified loci ranged from 0.15 (SSR1) to 0.92 (SSR2 and SSR 11). Genetic distance analysis of the 13 cultivars showed a large genetic differentiation (GST = 0.47) and high number of different groups. Most of the accessions were not found to be clustered according to their eco-geographical origin. In addition, each cultivar was characterized by its own multiallelic combination between loci. The results revealed the usefulness of SSR in understanding of genetic diversity in Moroccans Barbary fig cultivars, thus being helpful to set up rational decisions concerning the establishment of a national reference collection.

Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dan verifikatif, yaitu: mengumpulkan, menyajikan, menganalisis, dan melakukan pengujian hipotesis, serta membuat kesimpulan dan saran. Sampel dikumpulkan menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling menggunakan 24 data keuangan dari laporan keuangan PT. Lippo Cikarang, Tbk dari selama periode 2014-2019. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik Analisis Regresi Linier Berganda dan Analisis Koefisien Determinasi. Adapun hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa CR, DER dan ROE berpengaruh terhadap Harga Saham PT. Lippo Cikarang, Tbk selama periode 2014-2019 sebesar 61,8%.

In recent years, the organic sector has put significant efforts in the development of clear definitions for gentle and quality oriented processing of plant based foodstuffs to supplement existing regulations. Concrete quality standards for different types of processing are under development in several CoreOrganic Plus projects. However, there is still a significant need for development of a Code of Practice. Quality of a product and sustainability of production depend on the cumulative impacts of each processing step in the food chain, as well as the quality of the raw material. With increasing demands by the consumers who expect high quality foods produced sustainably and preferably regionally (SusOrganic consumer survey), pressure on the producers is growing as this requires skilled and qualified agri-food practitioners, professionals and manufacturers to be able to deliver the best quality at affordable prices and the lowest environmental impact possible.

Asuransi jiwa yaitu suatu upaya yang dilakukan manusia untuk mengurangi dampak kerugian finansial akibat terjadinya peristiwa yang tidak diinginkan seperti meninggal dunia, kecelakaan, bencana dan lain-lain. Asuransi jiwa gabungan merupakan asuransi jiwa yang diikuti oleh lebih dari satu peserta asuransi yang namanya berada dalam satu kontrak (joint life). Asuransi jiwa dibeli dengan pembayaran premi. Diantara jenis-jenis asuransi jiwa, kebanyakan peserta asuransi memilih asuransi jiwa berjangka karena premi asuransi jiwa berjangka paling rendah/murah diantara premi asuransi jiwa lainnya. Sebagian premi harus dicadangkan oleh perusahaan asuransi yang disebut dengan cadangan premi. Cadangan premi diperlukan untuk menutupi klaim peserta asuransi yang dapat terjadi sewaktu-waktu. Cadangan dapat dihitung dengan menggunakan asumsi premi bersih (premi netto) dan premi kotor (premi bruto). Perhitungan cadangan premi dengan menggunakan premi bersih dihitung dengan metode retrospektif dan metode prospektif. Dalam kenyataannya perusahaan asuransi memerlukan biaya manajemen agar tetap bisa beroperasi. Dari semua metode perhitungan cadangan premi, metode premium sufficiency menjelaskan secara rinci cadangan premi yang harus disediakan oleh perusahaan asuransi karena metode ini memperhitungkan biaya manajemen perusahaan asuransi. The aim of this study is to examine the variability of yield and fatty acid composition of argan seed oil (Argania spinosa L.) in four provenances, and to find the relationship between fatty acid composition and environmental conditions. Twenty genotypes were preselected and evaluated for fatty acids composition during 3 years (2008–2010). The oil was extracted by a Soxhlet and the fatty acids composition was determined using gas chromatography. The results revealed a variation in seed oil content (51.83–57.50 %). Total saturated fatty acids content (C14:0; C16:0; C18:0; C20:0) ranged from 19.53 to 20.29 %, with lower content in Had Dra and Biougra than other provenances. However, the concentration of total unsaturated fatty acids ranged from 79.56 to 80.29 %, with a higher percentage of monounsaturated fatty acid (C16:1; C18:1; C20:1) (47.60 %) in Aoulouz and a higher percentage of polyunsaturated fatty acid (C18:2; C18:3) (35.53 %) in Biougra provenance. No correlation between oil content and fatty acid compositions with the morphological data (mother tree, fruit and seed forms) was found. The geographical localization and fatty acid content were not correlated with oil content. The study proved a significant contribution of environmental conditions to the variation in fatty acid composition. We conclude that there is a highly significant variation both in oil content and fatty acid composition in the argan provenances that can be used for its improvement.

Opuntia is one of the most widespread cacti, primarily due to their edible fruit and vegetable mass used as feed. The high demand for young plants of Opuntia made it necessary to find a rapid method of multiplication of the cactus, the safest method consisting in vitro micropropagation of species belonging to this genus. With aim of large production of plant material, a propagation system of three important prickly pear cactus cultivar (Opuntia ficus-indica) in Morocco was developed. Segments of healthy young cladode (containing one areole) were cultivated in Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) containing adenine sulfate (40 mg/1), monosodium phosphate (50 mg/l), sucrose (50 g/l), phytagel (0.3%) and benzyladenine (BA) at 22.2 μM, to start the process of micropropagation. In vitro-developed shoots from areoles were used as secondary explants to induce shoot development in the MS medium with 5 mg/l of BA. All of the three studied cultivars showed an important multiplication rate in this medium. ‘Sidi Ifni M’ (‘Moussa’) cultivar shows the greatest number of shoots followed by ‘Sidi Ifni A’ (‘Aissa’) and ‘Delahia’ 17.26, 14.12 and 12.13 respectively. Rooting of in vitro-generated shoots was achieved most efficiently on half-strength MS basal medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) or IAA. Rooting frequencies were in the range from 95 to 100% and the highest mean number of root (19.1) was obtained with IBA for ‘Delahia’ cultivar. All micropropagated plants were transferred to greenhouse and all of them survived acclimatization process and showed good overall growth.

Introduction : Les troubles de l’équilibre et l’augmentation du risque de chutes constituent une problématique majeure chez les patients atteints de sclérose en plaques. Les traitements de physiothérapie visent notamment à maintenir de bonnes réactions d’équilibre. La réalité virtuelle est de plus en plus utilisée en rééducation neurologique. L’objectif de ce travail est de déterminer si la réalité virtuelle est efficace dans le traitement de l’équilibre chez les patients atteints de sclérose en plaques. Méthodologie : Nous avons effectué une recherche de littérature dans les principales bases de données en ne retenant que les RCT afin d’effectuer une méta-analyse. Les articles que nous avons sélectionnés se référaient soit à la Wii, soit à la Kinect et aux outils d’évaluation de l’équilibre. Résultat : Nous avons retenu cinq articles et extrait leurs données. Les résultats montrent une amélioration statistiquement significative en faveur de la réalité virtuelle. Discussion : Aucun des résultats n’atteint le seuil clinique statistiquement significatif. Plus l’outil se réfère à l’équilibre dynamique, plus les effets obtenus sont faibles. Cela laisse penser que la réalité virtuelle améliore surtout l’équilibre statique. Conclusion : Bien que présentant des résultats statistiquement significatifs en faveur de la réalité virtuelle, il est difficile de tirer de plus amples conclusions sur l’efficacité de la réalité virtuelle tant la littérature est encore pauvre. De plus amples recherches sont nécessaires afin de déterminer quel dispositif est le plus utilisable et quelle est la dose nécessaire pour obtenir des résultats cliniques significatifs.

To assess the attitudes of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and midwives toward complementary medicine (CM) at a Swiss academic hospital and toward its use for treating chronic pain.The cross-sectional survey took place from October to December 2013.An e-mail sent to 4925 healthcare professionals (1969 physicians, 2372 nurses, 145 physical therapists, and 111 midwives) working at Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland, invited them to answer a web-based questionnaire.The questionnaire was answered by 1247 healthcare professionals (response rate: 25.3%). Of these, 96.1% strongly agreed or agreed that CM could be useful for the treatment of chronic pain, with more nurses (96.7%) and midwives (100%) than physicians (93.8%) agreeing that CM could be useful (P.001 for both comparisons). Women had more positive attitude toward CM than men (97.8% versus 91.2%; P.001). Of the respondents, 96.9% were strongly in favor or in favor of offering CM, especially hypnosis (89.8%), osteopathy (85.5%), and acupuncture (83.4%), at the hospital for treating chronic pain. Respondents listed migraine (74.7%), tension headaches (70.6%), and low back pain (70.1%) as three main conditions for which they would refer patients for acupuncture. The three therapies with which respondents were the most unfamiliar were neuraltherapy (57.2%), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) (54.1%), and biofeedback (51.9%). Over half of respondents, 58.3%, had never referred a patient to a CM practitioner. A total of 84.3% of the respondents felt that they lacked the knowledge to inform their patients about CM.

Taman sebagai ruang publik harus memenuhi standar yang baik terutama dalam hal perancangan kota dan ketersedian fasilitas. Penyediaan fasilitas tersebut juga perlu disesuaikan terhadap jenis taman dan peninjauan terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat. Dalam hal ini, analisis yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk melakukan penataan taman yaitu dengan menggunakan metode kuantitaf dengan teknik analisa deskriptif. Teknik tersebut berdasarkan pada aspek pengukuran secara objektif terhadap fenomena sosial. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk mengolah data yaitu analisis karakteristik pengunjung, aspek pendukung taman, serta analisis perancangaan. Selain itu, data yang perlu diperhatikan yaitu tentang jenis fasilitas publik yang relevan, serta data mengenai persepsi masyarakat akan kebutuhan ruang publik. Rencana konsep penataan yang akan diterapkan pada taman Tirto Agung ini yaitu “Banyumanik Green Park”. Konsep tersebut menjelaskan tentang suatu taman di Banyumanik yang mempertimbangkan aspek hijau/ lingkungan. Dalam kegiatan penataan pada taman Tirto Agung ini, disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat terkait fungsi ekologi, fungsi estetika, fungsi kesehatan, fungsi rekreasi dan fungsi ekonomi dari ruang terbuka hijau, sehingga taman ini dapat digunakan sebagai wadah bagi aktivitas masyarakat kota yang dapat dinikmati oleh semua kelompok umur dengan penataan lansekap yang dapat meningkatkan nilai estetika dari suatu kawasan taman.

Rusunawa Kaligawe merupakan salah satu hunian vertikal yang dibangun di wilayah timur Kota Semarang. Perubahan pola permukiman dari horisontal (kampung) ke arah vertikal (rumah susun) membatasi pergerakan masyarakat dalam bersosialisasi. Rumah susun sebagai bentukan baru dari hunian seharusnya dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan sosial masyarakat yaitu untuk berkumpul dan berinteraksi dengan sesama. Ruang publikdi dalam suatu hunian rumah susun seharusnya yang dapat menampung pergaulan masyarakat sehingga meningkatkan kebersamaan di antara penghuni. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola pemanfaatan ruang-ruang bersama yang ada di Rusunawa Kaligawe sebagai wadah interaksi sosial dan faktor apa sajakah yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan ruang-ruang bersama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis faktor dengan sampel 126 unit rumah tangga. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik analisis dekriptif komparatif. Pola pemanfaatan ruang bersama menunjukkan bahwa ruang yang dekat dengan hunian warga, seperti selasar depan hunian (koridor) lebih sering dikunjungi dan digunakan untuk berinteraksi sedangkan ruang bersama yang terletak di lantai dasar kurang diminati. Pemanfaatan ruang bersama di Rusunawa Kaligawe tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor fisik ruang, tetapi juga faktor nonfisik yaitu karakteristik masyarakat sebagai pengguna dari ruang tersebut.
