The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of meditation on anxiety and quality of life in sexual and gender minorities. This is a randomized clinical trial, 23 individuals participated in the experimental group and 19 in the control. There was a decrease in the averages of state anxiety, when comparing the pre-test (51.87±10.20) with the 4th week (42.70±12.85) and the 8th week of meditation (41.12±14, 02) in the experimental group (ρ = 0.015). There was no statistically significant effect of meditation on quality of life, although this mean increased during practice. Meditation can be a nurse mental health care strategy.
