O planejamento e desenvolvimento de urbanização, bem como de áreas para a agricultura, devem considerar as estimativas probabilísticas de chuvas fundamentais, para prever eventos raros ou extremos, que possuem grandes relevâncias climatológicas, hidrológicas e sociais. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a probabilidade de ocorrência de chuvas extremas, e com esses dados saber se a precipitação segue um padrão ao longo dos anos e se sofre grandes variações (anomalias). O estudo foi realizado no IFSULDEMINAS–Campus Inconfidentes, utilizando os dados coletados na estação fluviométrica instalada nas margens do rio Mogi-Guaçu e que é mantida pela Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA) e operada pela Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais (CPRM). Os dados obtidos correspondem aos anos de 1967 a 2015 e foi adotado um método simples de calcular probabilidade de ocorrência de chuva a partir de uma sequência de valores medidos, baseando-se na ordenação decrescente dos valores. A média anual de precipitação para Inconfidentes-MG foi de 1471,6 mm e analisando a série histórica não observa-se tendências de aumento ou redução nas precipitações médias mensais, nem modificação no perfil de distribuição das chuvas ao longo dos anos estudados. Verificou-se que a probabilidade de ocorrência de chuvas extremas para Inconfidentes-MG é variável para cada mês, sendo os eventos mais críticos ocorridos nos meses de janeiro, fevereiro e outubro, com a probabilidade de 4,4%, 2,2% e 6,7%, respectivamente, de ocorrer chuvas com mais de 90 mm diários e menor incidência nos meses de junho e julho com probabilidade de aproximadamente 0%. Sabendo a disponibilidade hídrica, a probabilidade de ocorrência de eventos extremos e o período de retorno pode-se fazer um planejamento otimizado, em diversas áreas desde projetos ambientais a projetos de construções civis.

Devido à dificuldade energética no meio rural e à necessidade de irrigação, mesmo em pequenas propriedades, tem aumentado o uso do carneiro hidráulico, o qual por meio do princípio do golpe de aríete bombeia água sem o uso de energia elétrica. Contudo, seu rendimento em função da altura bombeada não é tão eficiente. Por meio deste estudo, objetivou-se com a adição de uma válvula retentora na entrada do carneiro ter um ganho de eficiência. A válvula tem a função de formar uma barreira física para a água que retorna, após seu golpe, com a válvula de sucção. O projeto foi desenvolvido com delineamento em blocos casualisados, com 4 blocos. Foram instalados 1 carneiro hidráulico de PVC (convencional) e 1 carneiro hidráulico com retentor que foram avaliados ao mesmo tempo. A altura de queda foi a mesma, variando 1 metro da altura bombeada a cada 4 dias. Foram realizadas 4 repetições para cada altura analisada e avaliou-se a vazão de saída por meio de hidrômetros, pressão de entrada e saída do sistema, vazão de entrada, volume de água perdida e número de batidas por minuto, sendo possível medir sua eficiência. O carneiro hidráulico com válvula apresentou um rendimento inferior na maioria das alturas estudadas, o bombeamento foi superior ao convencional somente aos 9 metros de altura, o que prejudica a relação custo-benefício.

The higher heating value (HHV) of sugarcane biomass components has been well documented; however, the effect of different soil water levels (abiotic stress) during the growing season on HHV has not been assessed for this energy crop. Drip irrigation in sugarcane production presents a potential to be a disruptive technology for sugarcane mills in terms of water-energy-nexus, making this inextricable relationship more efficient. The objective of this article was to quantify the higher heating value and useful energy from biomass partitions of different sugarcane varieties (Saccharum spp.) drip irrigated at four water levels and four maturation processes (drying off intensity prior to harvesting time); this information is not available in literature to date. The contribution of this article to the state of the art of knowledge are: a) the heating values for sugarcane partitions: bagasse, leaves and pointers did not vary significantly for varieties, water stress levels under drip irrigation and maturation processes; conversely, the heating value for the sheath biomass partition vary significantly for varieties. The average heating values for all treatments for the bagasse, sheaths, leaves and pointers were 18.16, 17.21, 17.64 and 17.84 MJ kg−1 respectively; b) the useful energy in sugarcane is almost totally dependent on the biomass produced per unit of area; drip irrigation levels and sugarcane variety traits are important in establishing the bioenergy productivity per area; the average value obtained for all treatments was 660.29 GJ ha−1 year−1 (36.90 Mg dry mass ha−1 year−1). Drip irrigated sugarcane crops at higher water levels in the soil, resulted a higher intensive land use and less deforestation pressure at sugarcane bioenergy production areas.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the water productivity into biomass and into sugar for 23 sugarcane varieties (second ratoon crop) under two levels of drip irrigation. Two experiments were conducted in a greenhouse. Experiment 1 comprised nine sugarcane varieties grown in a clay soil and Experiment 2 was composed of 14 varieties in a sandy-loam soil. Moreover, two irrigation treatments were adopted: T100 - full irrigation with 100% crop evapotranspiration replacement, maintaining soil moisture near field capacity for each variety; and T70 - irrigation with 70% T100 water depth. Water productivity was evaluated in terms of stem fresh biomass (WPFB) and sugar (WPGSY). The results showed that WPFB ranged from 11.45 to 18.45 kg m-3. The highest values were observed for varieties CTC14, CTC6, RB867515, and SP81-3250 (in T100) and for the varieties CTC6 and CTC14 (in T70). The WPGSY values ranged from 1.68 to 2.22 kg m-3, with emphasis placed on CTC6, RB9675-15, SP81-3250, and RB925211 (in T100) and on CTC6, CTC14, and SP81-3250 (in T70). RESUMO Objetivou-se, neste estudo, avaliar a produtividade da água em biomassa e açúcar de 23 variedades de cana-de-açúcar (segunda soqueira) irrigada por gotejamento sob dois níveis de irrigação. Dois experimentos foram instalados e conduzidos em casa de vegetação. Experimento 1: nove variedades em um solo argiloso e Experimento 2: 14 variedades em um solo franco-arenoso. Dois tratamentos de irrigação foram adotados: T100 - plenamente irrigado com reposição de 100% da evapotranspiração de cada variedade, mantendo a umidade do solo próximo à capacidade de campo; e T70 - irrigação com 70% da lâmina aplicada no tratamento T100. Avaliaram-se a produtividade da água em biomassa fresca de colmo (PABFC) e a produtividade da água em açúcar (PARBA). Houve variação na PABFC de 11,45 a 18,45 kg m-3. Observaram-se os maiores valores nas variedades CTC14, CTC6, RB867515 e SP81-3250 (T100) e nas variedades CTC6 e CTC14 (T70). A PARBA variou de 1,68 a 2,22 kg m-3, destaque para as variedades CTC6, RB967515, SP81-3250 e RB925211 em T100 e CTC6, CTC14 e SP81-3250 em T70.

Soil water availability is the main cause of reduced productivity, and the early development period most sensitive to water deficit. This study aimed to evaluate the drought resistance of the varieties of sugar-cane RB867515 and SP81-3250 during the early development using different levels of water deficit on four soil depths. The experiment was conducted at the Department of Biosystems at Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ/USP) in a greenhouse in soil classified as Oxisol, sandy loam texture (Series "Sertãozinho"). Once exhausted the level of available water in the soil, the dry strength of the studied strains are relatively low. Water balance with values less than -13 mm cause a significant decrease in the final population of plants, regardless of the variety, and values below -35 mm, leads to the death of all plants. A disponibilidade hídrica é a principal causa da redução da produtividade, sendo o início do desenvolvimento o período mais sensível ao déficit hídrico. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a resistência à seca das variedades de cana-de-açúcar RB867515 e SP81-3250 durante o início do desenvolvimento, utilizando diferentes níveis de déficit hídrico, em quatro profundidades de solo. O experimento foi realizado no Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas da Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ/USP), em estufa, em solo classificado como Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo, textura francoarenosa (Série "Sertãozinho"). Uma vez esgotado o nível de água disponível do solo, a resistência à seca das variedades estudadas é relativamente baixa. Balanços hídricos com valores menores que -13 mm causam queda significativa na população final de plantas, independentemente da variedade, e valores abaixo de -35 mm, levam à morte o total de plantas.

O setor sucroenergético enfrenta atualmente uma crise industrial e agrícola, carecendo de pesquisas para reverter este quadro, dependendo de matéria-prima a custos competitivos, e isso, passa obrigatoriamente pelo aumento de produtividade no campo. A irrigação é uma das alternativas para o aumento de produtividade, mas exige investimentos consideráveis para se irrigar de forma profissional. Além disso, a crescente demanda por alimentos e a competição por recursos hídricos em todo o mundo são uma realidade que impulsiona o uso mais eficiente da água em todos os setores, principalmente na agricultura. Assim, com a hipótese de que, para cada variedade de cana-de-açúcar, existe uma combinação mais adequada entre a lâmina de irrigação e a intensidade do déficit hídrico na fase de maturação, de modo a maximizar a produtividade, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de quatro lâminas de irrigação e quatro intensidades de déficit hídrico na fase de maturação, para oito variedades de cana-deaçúcar irrigadas por gotejamento, analisando as variáveis relacionadas à qualidade e à produtividade por unidade de área, bem como, quantificando a produtividade por unidade de água (evapo)transpirada (produtividade da água). O experimento foi conduzido em estufa na Escola Superior de Agricultura \"Luiz de Queiroz\" (USP), em Piracicaba-SP. Os tratamentos foram distribuídos em esquema fatorial (4x4x8) com parcelas sub-subdivididas com 3 repetições, totalizando-se 128 tratamentos e 384 parcelas experimentais, sendo as parcelas experimentais compostas de um vaso com aproximadamente 330 litros de solo contendo duas plantas. As lâminas avaliadas (L50, L75 L100 e L125) foram variações na fração aplicada ao longo do tempo tomando como referência o tratamento L100, em que se manteve a umidade do solo próxima à capacidade de campo (θcc) ao longo de todo experimento. Cada variedade testada teve sua própria referência L100. As intensidades do déficit hídrico para maturação avaliadas foram M1 (déficit hídrico moderado de longa duração), M2 (déficit hídrico intensivo de longa duração), M3 (sem déficit hídrico) e M4 (déficit hídrico severo de curta duração). A produtividade de colmos (TCH) foi favorecida pela combinação L100 e M3, independente da variedade estudada, com valor médio estimado de 232,2 t ha-1. Entre as variedades, a V4 apresentou a maior TCH, com média de 250,4 t ha-1 para L100. O rendimento bruto de açúcar (RBA) está diretamente ligado à produtividade de colmos, sendo igualmente favorecido pela combinação de L100 e M3, com valor médio de 23,4 t ha-1. As variedades V1, V2, V4 e V6, na lâmina L100, não diferiram significativamente entre si para RBA e tiveram a maior média, 23,9 t ha-1. A produtividade da água em açúcar e biomassa foi diferenciada em 4 e 2 grupos de variedades, respectivamente, e foi independente da lâmina de irrigação e do manejo para maturação adotados. Este resultado para a produtividade da água é característico da irrigação por gotejamento, onde as perdas por evaporação são minimizadas e a retenção de água nas folhas inexiste. Desta maneira, recomenda-se a irrigação plena de cana-de-açúcar caso a opção econômica seja pelo sistema de gotejamento. The sugarcane industry is currently facing an industrial and agricultural crisis, lacking research to reverse this situation, depending on the raw material at competitive costs, and this inevitably entails the increase in productivity in the field. The use of irrigation systems is imposed as an alternative, but requires considerable investments to irrigate professionally. In addition, the growing demand for food and competition for water resources worldwide, are a reality that drives the more efficient water use in all sectors, especially in agriculture. Thus, with the hypothesis that there is for each variety of sugar sugarcane, a more appropriate mix between irrigation depth and intensity water deficit during ripening, in order to maximize productivity, the aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of four irrigation depths and four levels of water stress during ripening, for eight drip irrigated sugarcane varieties, analyzing the variables related to quality and productivity per area unit, as well as quantifying productivity per unit of evapotranspired water (water productivity). The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the \"Luiz de Queiroz\" College of Agriculture (USP) in Piracicaba-SP. Treatments were arranged in a factorial design (4x4x8) with split-split-plot with three replicates, totaling 128 treatments and 384 plots, and the plots consist of a box with about 330 liters of soil containing two plants. The evaluated irrigation depths (L50, L75 and L100 L125) were variations in the fraction applied over time, relative to the treatment L100, where soil moisture remained close to field capacity (θcc) throughout the experiment. Each tested variety had its own reference L100. The intensities of water deficit during maturation were evaluated for M1 (moderate water deficit of long duration), M2 (intensive water deficit of long duration), M3 (no water deficit) and M4 (severe water deficit of short duration). The sugarcane yield (TCH) was favored by the combination L100 and M3, regardless of the studied variety, with an estimated average value of 232.2 t ha-1. Among the varieties, V4 had the highest TCH, with average of averaging 250.4 t ha-1 for L100. Sugar yield (RBA) is directly linked to sugarcane yield and is also favored by the combination of L100 and M3, with an average value of 23.4 t ha-1. The V1, V2, V4 and V6 varieties, for irrigation depth L100, did not differ significantly for RBA and had the highest average, 23.9 t ha-1. The water productivity in sugar and biomass differed in 4 and 2 variety groups, respectively, and was independent of the adopted irrigation depth and maturation management. The result for water productivity is characteristic of drip irrigation, where losses by evaporation are minimized and water retention in the leaves does not exist. Thus, one should consider the possibility of full drip irrigation, instead of the deficit one, for sugarcane.

Objetivou-se estudar os efeitos de diferentes níveis de salinidade do solo sobre as variáveis fenológicas e de produção da berinjela, cultivada em vasos e em ambiente protegido. O estudo foi conduzido na área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas da ESALQ/USP, Piracicaba, SP. Os tratamentos foram compostos da combinação de dois fatores: 6 níveis de salinidade inicial do solo (S1 = 1,3; S2 = 2,4; S3 = 3,6; S4 = 4,5; S5 = 5,6 e S6 = 6,4 dS m-1) e dois manejos de fertirrigação: com controle da condutividade elétrica da solução do solo (M1), e o tradicional (M2), obedecendo a curva de absorção de nutrientes da cultura. O delineamento estatístico adotado foi o de blocos casualizados completos, com quatro repetições, arranjados no esquema fatorial 6 x 2. Os resultados revelaram que os níveis de salinidade do solo afetaram diretamente as variáveis, produção de matéria seca, produção de frutos e índice de área foliar das plantas. Verificou-se que a redução média na produção da cultura da berinjela, em estufa, foi da ordem de 8,65% para o incremento de 1 dS m-1 na salinidade do solo, acima da salinidade limiar, que foi de 1,71 dS m-1. The objective was to study the effects of different levels of soil salinity on the phenological variables and production of the eggplant when grown in pots in a protected environment. The study was carried out at the experimental site of the Department of Biosystems Engineering ESALQ/USP in Piracicaba, São Paulo. The treatments consisted of a combination of two factors: six initial levels of soil salinity (S1 = 1.3, S2 = 2.4, S3 = 3.6, S4 = 4.5, S5 = 5.6 and S6 = 6.4 dS m-1) and two fertigation management: with the electrical conductivity of the soil solution being controlled (M1) and traditional (M2), following the absorption curve of nutrients from the culture. The statistical design adopted was a randomized complete-block design with four replications, arranged in a 6 x 2 factorial. The results showed that the levels of soil salinity directly affected the variables of dry-matter production, fruit production and leaf-area index of the plants. It was found that the average reduction in yield of the eggplant crop in a greenhouse, was approximately 8.65% for an increase of 1 dS m-1 in the salinity of the soil above the threshold salinity of 1.71 dS m-1.

A cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum spp.) é uma cultura de grande importância social, econômica e ambiental para o Brasil, ocupa 7,1 milhões de hectares, com produção de aproximadamente 570 milhões de toneladas. A disponibilidade hídrica é a principal causa da redução da produtividade, sendo o início do desenvolvimento o período mais sensível a déficit hídrico. São necessárias mais pesquisas para entender claramente os mecanismos de resposta da cultura ao déficit hídrico. Assim, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o desenvolvimento vegetativo e resistência à seca de duas variedades da cultura de cana-de-açúcar (RB867515 e SP81-3250) durante a fase inicial de desenvolvimento quando submetidas a diferentes níveis de estresse hídrico para quatro profundidades de solo. O experimento foi realizado na área de pesquisa do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas na Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ/USP) em ambiente protegido (casa de vegetação), o solo utilizado foi classificado como Latossolo Vermelho Amarelo, textura franco arenosa, denominado Série Sertãozinho. Utilizaram-se caixas dágua de 100 litros preenchidas com diferentes camadas de pedra brita nº 02, e solo, compondo camadas de 40, 30, 20 e 10 cm. Os níveis de déficit hídrico (N) foram aplicados interrompendo-se as irrigações por diferentes períodos, sendo que a evapotranspiração de referência acumulada (EToAc) foi de 0, 21, 38 e 58 mm até o tratamento ser novamente irrigado para N1, N2, N3 e N4 respectivamente. O sistema de irrigação utilizado foi por gotejamento e o manejo realizado com base em dados de umidade do solo obtidos a partir de leituras de tensiômetros. O delineamento foi em blocos ao acaso (DBC) em esquema fatorial 2 x 4 x 4 com os tratamentos dispostos em faixas, totalizando 32 tratamentos, sendo a parcela experimental representada por uma caixa contendo quatro touceiras de cana-de-açúcar. Observou-se que as plantas cultivadas em solo com profundidade de 10 cm apresentaram redução significativa na extensão máxima do colmo primário, massa de folhas do colmo primário, massa de folhas e bainha+colmo dos perfilhos, mesmo não tendo restrição hídrica. Para solos rasos, a variedade SP81-3250 foi mais sensível ao déficit hídrico, com grande redução na massa seca de folhas e bainha+colmo dos perfilhos. O desenvolvimento das plantas em solos de 30 e 40 cm de profundidade não apresentou diferença de sensibilidade ao déficit hídrico entre as variedades. Uma vez que o nível de água disponível do solo seja esgotado, a tolerância à seca das variedades estudadas é relativamente baixa. Balanços hídricos com valores menores que -13 mm causam queda significativa na população final de plantas, independentemente da variedade, sendo que, a partir de um valor acumulado de -35 mm, nenhuma planta sobreviveu. Sugar cane (Saccharum spp.) is an important crop from social, economic and environmental points of view for Brazil. It occupies 7,1 million hectares, producing approximately 570 million tons per year. Total available water in the soil (TWA) is the main cause of low productivity of certain areas, and the early development period it is one of most sensitive to water deficit. More research is needed to clearly understand mechanisms of crop response to drought, so this study aimed to evaluate plant growth and drought resistance of two varieties of the crop of sugar cane (RB867515 and SP81- 3250) during the initial phase of development, under different water stress levels for different soil depths. The experiment was conducted at the Biosystems Engineering Department at the School of Agriculture \"Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ/USP) under greenhouse conditions; the soil used was classified as Typic Yellow, sandy loam, called Series Sertãozinho. Fiber cement containers were used, filled with 100 liters of different gravel layers and soil, forming layers 40, 30, 20 and 10 cm of soil. The levels of water deficit (N) were applied interrupting the irrigation for different periods of cumulative reference evapotranspiration (EToAc): 0, 21, 38 and 58 mm, before reirrigated treatment for N1, N2, N3 and N4 respectively. Irrigation management was carried out based on a drip irrigation system and tensiometer readings. The design was a randomized block design (RBD) in factorial 2 x 4 x 4 with treatments arranged in bands, totalizing 32 treatments (containers), presenting four clumps of sugar cane per recipient. It was observed that plants growing in 10 cm soil depths showed a significant reduction to the fullest extent of the primary stem, leaf mass of primary stem, leaf mass and stem sheath of tillers, although not differing under water restriction. For shallow soils the variety SP81-3250 was more sensitive to drought, with a large reduction in dry weight of leaves and stalks + sheath of the tillers. The development of plants in soils 30 and 40 cm soil depths showed no difference in sensitivity to water deficit among varieties. The percentage of plants alive correlated very well with the value of climatic water balance, and the treatments with climatic water balance more negative than -13 mm had a significant reduction in final plant population, without difference among varieties; after - 35 mm of water deficit, 100% of the plants died.

1 RESUMO O objetivo neste trabalho foi estudar o efeito do estresse hidrico e da fracao de area molhada (100% e 12,5%) na area foliar da laranjeira Valencia, sob dois tipos solo e porta enxertos de citrumelo Swingle e limao Cravo. O experimento foi conduzido na area de pesquisa do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas na Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz” (ESALQ/USP) em ambiente protegido. Foi utilizado o delineamento em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 com os tratamentos dispostos em faixas, totalizando 16 tratamentos, constituidos da combinacao de dois tipos de solos (argiloso e franco-arenoso), dois porta-enxertos (limoeiro ‘Cravo’ e citrumelo ‘Swingle’), duas fracoes de area molhada (100% e 12,5%) e dois niveis de deficiencia hidrica: 1) Estresse Hidrico Continuo (suspensao da irrigacao por 30 dias) 2) Estresse Hidrico Intermitente (sub-lâmina) - aplicacao de 30% da ET0. Determinou-se simultaneamente o conteudo de agua no solo e o crescimento das plantas. Em termos de area foliar, o estresse continuo promoveu uma maior desfolha das plantas, sendo significativa a diferenca entre os tipos de solo, as condicoes de estresses e a interacao tipo de solo e porta-enxertos. It was used as design factorial a 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 with treatments arranged in bands, totaling 16 treatments, the combination of two types of soils (clayey and sandy loam), two-door grafts (Rangpur lime and Swingle 'Swingle'), two fractions of wetted area (100% and 12.5%) and two levels of water stress: 1) Continuous water Stress (withholding water for 30 days) 2) Stress Intermittent water (sub-blade) - application of 30% of ET0. Was determined by both the water content in the soil and the growing plants. In terms of leaf area, the continuous stress promoted a greater defoliation of plants, with a significant difference between soil types, conditions of stress and the interaction soil type and rootstock. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the water productivity (PA) into biomass, sugar and energy for 24 brazilian sugarcane varieties under drip irrigation, subjected to full and deficit irrigation treatments during growing stage. Two experiments were established under greenhouse conditions at the Biosystems Engineering Department, ESALQ/USP, Piracicaba, SP. Experiment 1: ten varieties on a clay soil (RB835054, RB855453, RB855536, RB925211, RB867515, SP89-1115, SP81-3250, CTC14, CTC8 e CTC6) and Experiment 2: fourteen varieties on a sandy-loam soil (RB925345, RB855156, RB966928, RB72454, RB92579, IACSP95-5000, Caiana, SP83-2847, SP90-3414, SP79-1011, CTC17, CTC15, CTC9 e CTC2). In both experiments it was adopted two irrigation treatments: T100 - full irrigation with 100% crop evapotranspiration replacement, maintaining soil moisture near field capacity, and T70 - irrigation with 70% of water depth applied to T100 treatment. Irrigation treatments were initiated at 101 days of crop cycle, corresponding to the end of tillering and the beginning of intense stalk growth phase (first ratoon). It was observed variation in the water productivity into fresh stalk biomass (PABFC) from 16.22 to 29.21 kg m-3, according of the varieties and irrigation treatments applied. The highest values were observed for varieties CTC6, CTC14, RB867515, SP81-3250 and RB92579, under full irrigation treatment (T100), and CTC6, CTC14 and SP90-3414, under deficit irrigation treatment (T70). Water productivity into sugar (PABATR) ranged from 1.95 to 3.84 kg m-3, highest values were observed for varieties CTC6 and RB92579 (T100), as well as RB835054 e RB966928 (T70). Water productivity into total energy (PAETOT) varied from 101.17 to 174.65 MJ m-3, with highest values for varieties:SP81-3250, CTC6, CTC17 and RB92579 (T100 treatment), as well as SP90-3414, SP81-3250 and CTC6 (T70 treatment).

O pivô central está entre um dos sistemas de irrigação mais populares utilizados na agricultura irrigada em geral. Em 2018, estudos mostraram uma área de 6.023.087 hectares irrigados no Brasil por diferentes métodos de irrigação, um aumento de 3,45% da área em relação ao ano de 2017, espera-se 10,09 milhões de hectares até 2030. No dimensionamento econômico do equipamento pivô central aconselha-se um estudo que viabilize o melhor diâmetro da tubulação em contrapartida à escolha do conjunto motobomba, diminuindo assim os investimentos em execução e manutenção do equipamento. O trabalho teve como objetivo a determinação do design econômico, fornecendo uma melhor relação custo-benefício de um pivô central dimensionado para três diferentes regiões do país: Unaí (MG), Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA) e Cristalina (GO), para quatro diferentes tamanhos de áreas irrigadas. A vazão do equipamento foi calculada de acordo com a ETo de cada uma das regiões para as probabilidades de ocorrência em 50 e 80% da demanda atmosférica. O pivô central mais econômico foi determinado por diferentes combinações entre diâmetros e comprimentos de tubulação da linha lateral e o consumo energético segundo às diferentes tarifas energéticas e descontos por região. As combinações com vãos de diâmetros menores apresentam um menor custo fixo, mas consequentemente um maior custo operacional e vice-versa. Os resultados com os cálculos realizados para áreas irrigadas de 50 ha, mostraram para 67% das simulações, mais acessível o equipamento com diâmetro único 6 5/8\" (PC1), o qual apresentou-se como a opção mais cara em 100% das áreas de 125 ha. Para a área irrigada de 80 ha a combinação PC23 foi consiserada como a opção mais barata, a qual apresentou 63% da linha lateral com diâmetro 6 5/8\". Para as áreas de 100 e 125 ha, as combinações mais acessíveis foram referentes a tubulação da linha lateral com 76 e 86,7% com o diâmetro 8 5/8\", PC26 e PC 17, respectivamente. Recomenda-se uma análise do peso da tubulação da linha lateral (pressão do rodado sobre o solo) caso as opções apresentem custo total semelhante entre as opções de diâmetros analisados. The central pivot is among the most popular irrigation systems used in irrigated agriculture in general. In 2018, studies showed an area of 6,023,087 hectares irrigated in Brazil by different irrigation methods, an increase of 3.45% in the area compared to 2017, and 10.09 million hectares are expected by 2030. In the economic sizing of the central pivot equipment, a study is recommended to enable the best pipe diameter in return for the choice of the motor pump set, thus reducing investments in equipment execution and maintenance. The work aimed to determine the economic design, providing a better cost- benefit ratio of a central pivot sized for three different regions of the country: Unaí (MG), Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA) and Cristalina (GO), for four different sizes of irrigated areas. The flow of the equipment was calculated according to the ETo of each of the regions for the probabilities of occurrence in 50 and 80% of the atmospheric demand. The most economical central pivot was determined by different combinations of diameters and pipe lengths of the lateral line and energy consumption according to the different energy tariffs and discounts per region. The combinations with smaller diameter spans present a lower fixed cost, but consequently a higher operational cost and vice versa. The results with the calculations performed for irrigated areas of 50 ha showed that for 67% of the simulations, the equipment with a single diameter of 6 5/8\" (PC1) was more accessible, which was presented as the most expensive option in 100% of the areas of 125 ha. For the irrigated area of 80 ha the combination PC23 was considered the cheapest option, which presented 63% of the lateral line with diameter 6 5/8\". For the areas of 100 and 125 ha, the most accessible combinations were for 76 and 86.7% sideline piping with 8 5/8\" diameter, PC26 and PC 17, respectively. It is recommended to analyze the weight of the lateral line piping (pressure of the wheels on the ground) if the options present similar total cost among the options of diameters analyzed.

A cana-de-açúcar não só é importante para a produção de açúcar, mas também por ser uma fonte alternativa potencial para os biocombustíveis. O Brasil tem a maior área cultivada de cana-de-açúcar no mundo, porém a àrea de expansão esta sendo realizada em regiões marginais, representando o estigaem uns dos principais problemas nestas novas áreas. O papel potencial de silício (Si) no fornecimento de tolerância contra estresses ambientais, sugere que o teor de Si em plantas pode ser uma abordagem viável para aumentar a resistência das plantas a vários fatores. Varios experimentos conduzidos no Brasil tem demostrado o efeito do Si sob a produção da cana. Diversas pesquisas relatam a interação entre o nitrogênio (N) e o Si, embora, para a cana-de-açúcar esta relação ainda não está clara, por um lado tem-se estudos que observaram que a interação não afetou o estado nutricional da cultura; por outro lado varias pesquisas reportam que a interação promove melhorias no crescimento da cana. Assim, com a hipótese de que, deve existir uma dose de N e Si que propicia a maior produtividade da água, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o efeito do nitrogênio e do silício na produtividade da água, em biomassa e energia, para a cana-de-açúcar, analisando as variaveis relacionadas à biometria, à qualidade, e á produtividade da água. O experimento foi conduzido em uma casa de vegetação instalada na área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas (LEB) da Escola Superior de Agricultura \"Luiz de Queiroz\" (ESALQ/USP) em Piracicaba-SP, o delineamento experimental adotado foi de 4 blocos; os tratamentos foram arranjados em esquema fatorial N x Si (4 x 3 + 2), sendo quatro doses de N, 25N, 50N, 100N e 150N (15, 30, 60 e 90 kg ha-1 respetivamente), três doses Si, 50Si, 100Si e 150Si (175, 350 e 525 kg ha-1 respetivamante). O N foi aplicado em forma de nitrato de amônio, entretanto o Si foi usado AgrosilícioPlus®. As irrigações foram realizadas por gotejamento, sendo adotado o manejo via solo através do uso de tensiômetros instalados a três profundidades no solo. Os resultados encontrados indicaram que o Si teve efeito sob a clorofila, sendo o melhor tratamento 60 kg de N ha-1 175 kg de Si ha-1. Os tratamentos de N e Si não apresentaram efeitos significativos sob as variáveis da qualidade tecnológica da cana-de-açúcar. Os indicadores de produtividade da água foram influenciados pelas baixas doses de N; o Si apresentou efeito em todas as dosagens, assim os maiores valores médios foram observados no tratamento 30 kg de N ha-1 350 kg de Si ha-1 para a produtividade da água em açúcar, já para a produtividade da água em biomassa e energia foi o tratamento 15 kg de N ha-1 350 kg de Si ha-1. Sugarcane is not only important for sugar production, but also because it is an alternative source of bioenergy. Brazil has the largest cultivated area of sugarcane in the world, but the expansion area is being carried out in marginal regions, representing the water deficit one of the main problems in these new areas. The potential role of silicon (Si) in providing tolerance against environmental stresses suggests that Si content in plants may be a viable approach to increasing plant resistance to various factors. Some experiments conducted in Brazil have shown the effect of Si in the production of sugarcane. In addition, several studies report the interaction between nitrogen (N) and Si, although for sugar cane this relationship is still not clear, on the one hand there are studies that observed that the interaction did not affect the nutritional status of the crop; On the other hand, several surveys report that the interaction promotes improvements in the growth of sugarcane. Thus, with the hypothesis that there must be a dose of N and Si that provides the highest productivity of water, the objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of N and Si on water productivity, biomass and energy, for sugarcane sugar analysis, analyzing the variables related to biometrics, quality, and water productivity. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the \"Luiz de Queiroz\" College of Agriculture (ESALQ / USP) Piracicaba, SP, Brazil. Treatments were arranged in factorial scheme (4 x 3 + 2), four doses of N, 25N, 50N, 100N and 150N (15, 30, 60 and 90 kg ha-1 respectively), three doses Si, 50 Si, 100 Si and 150 Si (175, 350 and 525 kg ha-1 respectively). The N was applied in the form of ammonium nitrate, and for Si was used AgrosilicioPlus®. Irrigations were performed by drip irrigation, and water management was adopted through the use of tensiometers installed at three soil depths. The results indicated that the leaf area responds to Si, therefore, the highest values are in the 60 kg of N ha-1 175 kg of Si ha-1 dossages. N and Si treatments did not show significant effects under the technological quality variables of sugarcane. The water productivity indicators were influenced by the low doses of N; o Si presented an effect at all dosages, so the highest mean values were observed in the treatment 30 kg of N ha-1 350 kg of Si ha-1 for sugar water productivity, as well as for water productivity in biomass and energy was the treatment 15 kg of N ha-1 350 kg of Si ha-1.

A floricultura é uma atividade altamente rentável e exerce um papel importante no agronegócio brasileiro, se destacando cada vez mais em relação ao seu faturamento anual. Dentre as flores mais cultivadas e comercializadas, as gérberas (Gerbera jamesonii) são conhecidas pela grande quantidade de cores de suas inflorescências. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o desenvolvimento e a produtividade da cultura da gérbera em ambiente protegido associado a malhas vermelha, azul e preta de sombreamentos e fertirrigadas com cinco soluções nutritivas de fertirrigação, elaboradas a partir da diluição (25%, 50%, 75%) e concentração (125%) da solução proposta por Hoagland e Arnon (1950) (solução padrão, 100%), sobre as características que conferem a qualidade da planta para comercialização em vasos. A malha azul associada à fertirrigação com concentração de 25% dos nutrientes da solução padrão proporcionaram maior massa fresca e seca de capítulos florais, hastes e total das gérberas e, ainda, maior massa seca das folhas. Os tratamentos aplicados não ifluenciaram o número de capítulos e de folhas e a classificação segundo os padrões qualidade. O diâmetro do capítulo floral não foi afetado pelos tratamentos de fertirrigação e sombreamento; entretanto, o diâmetro e a altura das hastes das gérberas foram reduzidos com a apliacação da solução mais concentrada (125%). Oíndice de estresse hídrico (CWSI) da cultura foi mais próximo de 1, nas três malhas coloridas, nos horários próximos ao meio do dia e aos 58 DAT foi verificado maior estresse das plantas sombreadas pelas malhas vermelhas. O índice de clorofila total (índice Falker) aos 59 e 99 DAT foi menor na malha vermelha, o que pode indicar maior eficiência das plantas sob esta malha, uma vez que não houve redução da produtividade das gérberas neste ambiente. Os teores de antocianina foram muito semelhantes nas folhas das gérberas cultivadas sob as malhas coloridas, sendo observada uma maior média do pigmento nas gérberas cultivadas sob a malha azul. The flower culture is a highly profitable activity and plays a major role in agribusiness, increasingly standing out in terms of annual sales. One of the most cultivated and marketed flowers, gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii), is known for its abundance of colors of its inflorescences. This work aimed to evaluate development and productivity of gerbera culture in protected environment associated to shading meshes of red, blue and black under fertirrigation with five nutritional solutions elaborated from the dilution ( 25%, 50%, 75%) and concentration (125%) of the solution proposed by Hoagland and Arnon (1950) (standard solution, 100%) on the characteristics that confer quality to the plant for marketing in pots. The blue mesh associated with fertigation of 25% of nutrient concentration of the standard solution provided fresh and dry mass of inflorescence, stems and total of gerbera, as well as greater dry mass of leaves. The treatments applied did not influence the number of inflorescences and leaves, as well as the classification of quality standards. The diameter of inflorescences was not affected by fertigation and shading; however, stem diameter of gerbera was reduced with the application of concentrated solution (125%). The crop water stress index (CWSI) was closer to 1, in the three colored meshes, at times near the middle of the day, and at 58 DAT, greater stress was verified in plants shaded by red meshes. The index of total chlorophyll (Falker index) at 59 and 99 DAT was smaller in red fabric, which may indicate greater efficiency of plants under this mesh, since there was no reduction in the productivity of gerbera in this environment. The contents of anthocyanin were very similar in leaves of gerbera grown under colored meshes, being observed a grater average of the pigment in gerbera grown under the blue fabric.

As respostas das plantas medicinais as diversas técnicas de manejo da irrigação são pouco conhecidas. Os efeitos da irrigação complementar e suplementar na produtividade das plantas medicinais é de interesse para a industria farmacéutica. A flora brasileira é uma das mais ricas da Terra e neste conjunto de plantas existem espécies medicinais de alto valor com aptidão farmacêutica e bioquímica. Dentre elas está a carqueja, uma planta brasileira conhecida popularmente pelo seu chá com efeito emagrecedor. O objetivo do trabalho foi verificar as respostas da carqueja frente ao manejo da irrigação via clima em ambiente protegido. Em casa de vegetação, foram realizados dois experimentos em vasos de 11 L. O primeiro ensaio foi realizado no período primavera/verão de 2015/2016 e o segundo ensaio no outono/inverno de 2016. Foi adotado o delineamento em blocos casualizados composto por seis níveis de reposição hídrica (25, 50, 75, 100, 125 e 150% da ETo) e 6 repetições, totalizando 36 parcelas. Foi adotado o sistema de irrigação localizada por gotejamento. O conteúdo de água no solo foi monitorado por meio da refletectometria no domínio do tempo. O monitoramento meteorológico foi realizado por meio de uma estação meteorológica automática com datalogger. Após o transplantio das mudas foram realizadas três colheitas, realizando a avaliação das plantas cultivadas, por meio da determinação da biomassa, biometria, produtividade da água e teor do óleo essencial extraído por hidrodestilação. A cultura da carqueja (Baccharis crispa Spreng.) apresentou uma resposta diferencial aos níveis de reposição hídrica, nas diferentes colheitas, no período primavera/verão. O maior aumento da biomassa se obervou no ciclo primavera/verão aos 95 dias após o transplantio (DAT). A deficiência hídrica afetou em menor proporção às plantas submetidas ao nível de reposição hídrica de 75% em ambos ciclos. A maior produção de biomassa seca foi obtda aos 95 DAT no ciclo primavera/verão e o teor de óleo essencial no tratamento 75% de reposição hídrica no ciclo primavera/verão aos 205 DAT. The responses of medicinal plants to the various techniques of irrigation management are little known. The effects of supplementary and supplemental irrigation on the productivity of medicinal plants is of interest to the pharmaceutical industry. The Brazilian flora is one of the richest on Earth and in this set of plants has high value as medicinal species with pharmaceutical and biochemical aptitude. Among them is the carqueja, a Brazilian plant popularly known for its tea with a slimming effect. The objective of the study was to verify the responses of the carqueja to the management of irrigation through climate in a protected environment. In the greenhouse, two experiments were carried out in 11 L pots. The first test was performed in the spring / summer of 2015/2016 and the second in the fall / winter of 2016. A randomized block design was adopted, consisting of six water replacement level (25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150% of ETo) and 6 replicates, totaling 36 plots in the greenhouse. Drip irrigation system was adopted. The water content in the soil was monitored by time domain reflectectometry and the meteorological monitoring will be done by means of an automatic weather station with datalogger. After the transplanting of the seedlings, three harvests were carried out evaluating the cultivated plants, through determination of the biomass, biometry, water productivity and essential oil content extracted by hydrodistillation. The Baccharis crispa Spreng. presented a differential response to water replacement levels, in the different harvests, in the spring/summer period. The greatest development of the crop was observed in the summer spring cycle at 95 DAP. The water deficiency affected to a lesser extent the plants submitted to the water replacement level of 75% in both cycles. The highest dry biomass production at 95 DAP in the spring/summer cycle and the essential oil content in the treatment 75% of water replacement in the spring / summer cycle at 205 DAP.

O crescimento da população mundial associado ao aumento da competição pelos recursos hídricos, desafiam a humanidade a buscar alternativas para solucionar os problemas de abastecimento de água e oferta de alimentos. Isso exige de pesquisadores e institutos de pesquisa soluções para aumentar a eficiência na produção de alimentos e na eficiência no uso dos recursos hídricos. O milheto (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) pode ser uma alternativa viável para a produção de biomassa e forragem com maior eficiência no uso da água. Deste modo, levanta-se a hipótese de que a diminuição na oferta de água aumenta a produtividade da água na cultura; o objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar o incremento de produtividade da água da cultura, associado à diminuição na oferta de água, bem como, o padrão de resposta termal da cultura em função do déficit hídrico. O estudo foi conduzido em um ambiente protegido na área de pesquisa do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas da Escola Superior de Agricultura -Luiz de Queiroz? entre novembro de 2016 e janeiro de 2017. A variedade utilizada neste trabalho foi a BRS-1501, desenvolvida pela EMBRAPA, o delineamento experimental adotado foi o de blocos casualizados com quatro blocos e quatro níveis de reposição hídrica, sendo eles: (L40, L70, L100 e L130).O nível de reposição hídrica de referência (L100) foi mantido ao longo do experimento próximo à capacidade de campo (θcc). A unidade experimental considerada foi de uma caixa com uma área de 0,261 m2, com um volume de solo aproximado de 100 litros contendo seis plantas. Foram avaliados o potencial de água na folha, a temperatura foliar, para o cálculo do CWSI, e, na colheita, foi medido o índice de área foliar (IAF), e a produção de biomassa da parte aérea, para estimativa de produtividade de biomassa da parte aérea, e de água para a cultura. Os tratamentos foram aplicados aos 15 dias após a semeadura (DAS) e se seguiram até a colheita. As variáveis avaliadas apresentaram relações significativas com os tratamentos que foram impostos. O CWSI calculado para a cultura foi representativo e apresentou boa correlação com o potencial de água na folha no modelo linear. O índice de área foliar oscilou entre 5,9m2 m-2 e 9,4 m2 m-2, em valores médios, entre os tratamentos de irrigação. O valor máximo de produtividade de biomassa seca da parte aérea se deu no tratamento L130, com valor médio de 12,1 Mg ha-1, e o menor valor de produtividade de biomassa se deu no tratamento L40, com valor médio de 5,15 Mg ha-1. Os valores médios de produtividade de água foram expressivos para o tratamento de reposição L40, com valor aproximado de 9,1 kg m-3 de biomassa produzida, evidenciando a grande eficiência no uso da água pela cultura. The growth of the world population associated with increased competition for water resources challenges humanity to seek alternatives to solve the problems of water supply and food supply. This requires researchers and research institutes to increase their efficiency in food production and the efficiency of their use of water resources. The millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) can be a viable alternative for the production of biomass and forage with greater efficiency in the use of water. Thus, it is hypothesized that the decrease in water supply increases the productivity of water in the crop; the objective of this work was to investigate the increase of crop water productivity, associated with the decrease in water supply, as well as the thermal response pattern of the crop as a function of the water deficit. The study was conducted in a protected environment in the research area of the Department of Biosystems Engineering of the \"Luiz de Queiroz\" School of Agriculture between November 2016 and January 2017. The variety used in this work was BRS-1501, developed by EMBRAPA, the experimental design was a randomized block design with four blocks and four water replenishment levels: (L40, L70, L100 and L130). The reference water replenishment level (L100) was maintained throughout the experiment close to the field capacity (θcc).The experimental unit considered was a box with 0.261 m2 containing six plants. Leaf water potential, leaf temperature, for the CWSI calculation, leaf area index (LAI) and leaf biomass production were estimated for estimating biomass productivity of aerial part, and of water for the culture. The treatments were applied at 15 days after seeding (DAS) and were followed until harvest. The evaluated variables presented significant relationships with the treatments that were imposed. The CWSI calculated for the crop was representative and showed good correlation with the leaf water potential in the linear model. The leaf area index ranged from 5.9 m2 m-2 to 9.4 m2 m-2, in average values, between irrigation treatments. The maximum productivity of dry biomass of aerial part was given in the treatment L130, with average value of 12.1 Mg ha-1, and the lowest value of biomass productivity occurred in the treatment L40, with an average value of 5,15 Mg ha-1. The mean values of water productivity were significant for the L40 replacement treatment, with an approximate value of 9.1 kg m-3 of biomass produced, evidencing the great efficiency in the use of crop water.

O amendoim é a quarta oleaginosa mais cultivada no mundo. Sua importância está relacionada à diversidade de usos de seus grãos, sendo este rico em óleo, calorias, proteínas e vitaminas. Já é sabido que, com o uso da irrigação, pode-se duplicar seu rendimento. Porém, a técnica da irrigação deve buscar atingir a máxima produtividade com o menor consumo de água. O objetivo deste trabalho foi o de avaliar o efeito de diferentes lâminas de irrigação e épocas de colheita sobre o crescimento e a produção de grãos da cultivar de amendoim Runner IAC 886, em dois ciclos de cultivo. O experimento foi instalado sob um delineamento experimental em blocos aleatorizados, usando o esquema fatorial 4 x 2 x 2, uma vez que foi possível a realização da análise conjunta dos ciclos, para todas as variáveis resposta avaliadas. Os tratamentos foram compostos por quatro frações da lâmina de irrigação necessária para elevar a umidade do solo próximo da capacidade de campo (L1 = 50%, L2 = 75%, L3 = 100% e L4 = 125%), duas épocas de colheita (EC1 = 118 dias após a emergência, EC2 = 140 dias após a emergência), e dois ciclos de cultivo (C1 = cultivo entre 23 de janeiro a 24 de junho de 2015, C2 = cultivo entre 02 de setembro a 09 de janeiro de 2016). A unidade experimental foi constituída por uma caixa contendo 5 mudas de amendoim, espaçadas a 8 cm. O sistema de irrigação utilizado foi por gotejamento e o manejo foi realizado com base em dados de umidade do solo obtidos a partir de leituras de tensiômetros. As lâminas de irrigação influenciaram todas as variáveis de crescimento e de produção, encontrando-se na lâmina de 125% os maiores valores. O fator época de colheita teve efeito significativo sobre a massa seca da parte aérea e a produtividade de grãos, sendo que a época de colheita 2 teve os maiores valores de massa seca da parte aérea (70,05 g) e de produtividade de grãos (5.578,97 kg ha-1). O fator ciclo promoveu efeito em todas as variáveis de crescimento, produção e qualidade do grão, dos quais, no ciclo 1, se observou os maiores valores para as variáveis de produção e qualidade de grão, e no ciclo 2 se verificou os maiores valores para as variáveis de crescimento. The peanut is the fourth oleaginous most cultivated in the world. Its importance is associated to the diversity of use of its kernels, which are rich in oil, calories, proteins and vitamins. It is already known that using irrigation is possible to double its yield. However, the technique of irrigation must reach the maximum productivity with the least water consumption. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of different irrigation dephts and harvest dates on growth and kernel production of the peanut cultivar Runner IAC 886 in two cultivation cycles. The experiment was conducted under randomized blocks experimental design, in factorial scheme 4 x 2 x 2, since it was possible to perform the joint analysis of cycles, for all characteristics evaluated. The treatments were consisting of four fractions of irrigation depths needed to raise the humidity from the soil to field capacity (L1 = 50%, L2 = 75%, L3 = 100% e L4 = 125%), two harvest dates (EC1 = 118 days after emergence, EC2 = 140 days after emergence), and two cultivation cycles (C1= from January 23 to June 24, 2015; C2= from September 02, 2015 to January 09, 2016). The experimental unit was constituted by a box containing 5 peanut seedlings, spaced by 8 cm. The irrigation system used was dripping and the irrigation management was carried out based on tensiometer readings. The irrigation dephts have influenced all variables of growth and production, being that in the irrigation depht of 125% the highest values were found. The factor harvest date had significant effect on shoots dry weight and kernels productivity of peanut, in which the harvest date 2 showed the highest values of shoot dry weight (70.05 g) and peanut productivity (5,578.97 kg ha-1). The factor cycle affected all variables of growth, yield and kernel quality, which in the cycle 1 was observed the highest values for the variables of production and kernel quality, and in the cycle 2 the highest values for the variables of growth.

A irrigação quando bem manejada, pode minimizar os riscos econômicos da atividade sucroalcooleira, particularmente em safras com presença de instabilidade climática onde a restrição hídrica, promovida pela diminuição no volume de chuvas, pode reduzir a produtividade dos canaviais. Dentre as ferramentas disponíveis para a gestão eficiente da água na agricultura irrigada, a técnica de irrigação sob déficit pode se tornar uma escolha acertada para a cana-de-açúcar, desde que sejam identificadas as fases fenológicas e épocas de cultivo onde a limitação da oferta de água não implique em reduções antieconômicas no rendimento da cultura. Diante disso, a hipótese que norteia essa pesquisa, é a de que existe uma estratégia de irrigação sob déficit, que associada a uma variedade com características específicas, possibilite a expressão de indicadores de produtividade tão satisfatórios quanto os obtidos em condições de irrigação plena. Nessa linha, os objetivos da pesquisa envolveram o estudo da dinâmica foliar, acúmulo e particionamento de biomassa e ainda, índices de produtividade da água para biomassa, açúcar e etanol de 1ª e 2ª geração de oito variedade de cana-de-açúcar, submetidas a diferentes condições de disponibilidade hídrica no solo em dois ciclos de cultivo (cana-planta e cana-soca). A pesquisa foi realizada na Escola Superior de Agricultura \"Luiz de Queiroz\", em Piracicaba/SP, onde foram estudados os dois primeiros ciclos de cultivo da cana-de-açúcar, sendo estes abordados nesta tese como Experimento 1 (cana-planta) e Experimento 2 (cana-soca). O delineamento experimental adotado para ambos os ciclos foi o de blocos casualizados, com três blocos completos. Os tratamentos foram compostos por três fatores em esquema de parcelas sub-subdivididas. Estas parcelas foram formadas por duas plantas (touceiras) alocadas em um vaso com aproximadamente 330 litros de solo. No Experimento 1, foram estudados três fatores, sendo o primeiro e segundo com quatro níveis e o terceiro com oito (4x4x8), totalizando assim 128 tratamentos, sendo eles: quatro níveis de irrigação ao longo do ciclo (125, 100, 75 e 50% da ETc); oito variedades comerciais de cana-de-açúcar e quatro procedimentos de maturação, impostos por meio de variações na intensidade do déficit hídrico aplicado. Para o Experimento 2, substitui-se o fator Maturação por Épocas de Corte, o qual consistiu em colheitas de um quarto do experimento a cada 90 dias. Os resultados encontrados apontaram que a área foliar responde positivamente a maior disponibilidade hídrica no solo, tendo sido verificado uma relação proporcional entre estes. Quanto ao acúmulo de biomassa, verificou-se que para as oito variedades estudadas houve incremento de biomassa a medida em que se aumentou o volume de água disponibilizado às variedades. No tocante ao particionamento, as folhas foram os drenos principais de fotoassimilados da planta até os 100 dias de cultivo, sendo que após este período, os colmos ocuparam o lugar de dreno preferencial. Os indicadores de produtividade da água apresentaram diferenças significativas para o fator lâmina, o que indica a existência de cultivares de cana-de-açúcar mais eficientes no uso da água. Por fim, observou-se que a produtividade da água para etanol total apresentou valores expressivos, com média para essa variável igual a 1,81 L m-3, o que denota o potencial de rendimento de etanol (1G + 2G) a partir da cana-de-açúcar quando é adotado o aproveitamento integral das plantas. Irrigation when managed, can minimize the economic risks of sugarcane activity, particularly in crops with the presence of climatic instability where water restriction, promoted by the decrease in rainfall, can reduce the productivity of sugarcane fields. Among the tools available to effectively irrigation manage, under deficit irrigation technique can become a right choice for sugarcane, provided they are investigated phenological stages and growing seasons where the limitation of the supply of water does not lead to uneconomical reductions in crop yield. Therefore, the hypothesis that guides this work is that there is a strategy of deficit irrigation, which associated with a cultivar with specific characteristics, enables the expression of productivity indicators as satisfactory as those obtained in full irrigation conditions. In this context, the objectives of this research involves the study of leaf dynamics, biomass accumulation and partitioning and also the water productivity indices for biomass, sugar and ethanol from 1st and 2nd generation of eight variety of sugarcane, subject to different conditions of soil water availability in two crop cycles (cane plant and ratoon crop). The research was conducted at the College of Agriculture \"Luiz de Queiroz\", Piracicaba-SP, Brazil. The research was conducted in the first two cycles of cultivation of sugarcane, which are named in this thesis as Experiment 1 (plant crop) and Experiment 2 (ratoon crop). The experimental design adopted for both cycles was blocks randomized, with three complete blocks. The treatments were three factors in scheme of sub-split plot. These plots were formed by two plants (clumps) placed in a pot with about 330 liters of soil. In Experiment 1, three factors were studied, the first and second with four levels and the third with eight (4x4x8), totalizing 128 treatments, as follows: four levels of irrigation throughout the cycle (125, 100, 75 and 50% ETc); eight commercial varieties of sugarcane and four maturity procedures imposed by means of variations in the intensity of water deficit applied. For Experiment 2, the maturation factor was replace for Seasons Court, which consisted in harvests of a quarter of the experiment every 90 days. The results showed that the leaf area responds positively to greater soil water availability, having been verified a proportional relationship between these variables. For the biomass accumulation, it was found, for the eight varieties studied, an increment of biomass while was increase the volume of water available for the varieties. Regarding the partitioning, the leaves were the preferred structures of the plant until the 100 days of cultivation, and after this period, the stems took the place of preferred drain. Water productivity indicators showed significant differences for the irrigation depth factor, which indicates the existence of sugarcane cultivars water use more efficient. Finally, it was observed that the total water productivity to ethanol showed significant values, with a mean for that variable equal to 1.81 L m-3, which shows the ethanol yield potential (1G + 2G) from sugarcane when it adopted the overall use of plants.
