Scoping review according to PRISMA on knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes of health professionals towards baby led weaning.

Dissertação de mestrado em Optometria Avançada, A amplitude de acomodação e a flexibilidade acomodativa dependem das condições de luminosidade e são indicativos da capacidade acomodativa de um sujeito. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi medir as duas variáveis sob três níveis de iluminância (30 lux, 100 lux e 170 lux). Foi usada uma pupila artificial limitadora do diâmetro pupilar, de modo a determinar qual a variação da capacidade acomodativa com a variação da iluminância, não podendo esta ser justificada por uma variação do diâmetro pupilar e, consequentemente, da profundidade de foco, visto que a pupila dos participantes era maior do que a pupila artificial a 170 lux. Foram incluídos neste estudo experimental 42 estudantes universitários, com idade média de 21,88 ± 2,8 anos, tendo os procedimentos sido realizados no Gabinete de Optometria do Departamento de Física da Universidade do Minho. Para a variável amplitude de acomodação, o valor medido aumentou significativamente com o aumento do nível de iluminância até aos 170 lux, ao contrário da flexibilidade acomodativa, cujo valor se manteve estatisticamente constante a partir dos 100 lux. Quando analisado o impacto do erro refrativo nestas diferenças, foram verificadas algumas desigualdades na forma como os grupos refrativos beneficiavam do aumento da iluminância sob os valores medidos . A disparidade nos resultados pode ter como justificação questões relacionadas com a fotofobia, com o contraste do alvo ou com a iluminância retiniana, sendo que uma maior visibilidade permite que haja um menor esforço para focar, assim como uma acomodação mais eficaz. A determinação das condições ergonómicas ideais permite maximizar a visão do paciente, uma vez que tem em conta o nível de iluminância para o qual o paciente obtém uma melhor performance, satisfação e desempenho visual., The amplitude of accommodation and the accommodating flexibility depend on the lighting conditions and can identify the accommodating ability of a subject. The objective of the present study was to measure the two variables under three different levels of illuminance (30 lux, 100 lux and 170 lux). An artificial pupil limiting the pupil diameter was used in order to determine the variation of the accommodative amplitude with the illuminance, which cannot be justified by a variation of the pupil diameter, since the pupil of the patients was larger than the artificial pupil at 170 lux. There were included in this experimental study 42 university students with a mean age of 21,88 ± 2,8 years, and the procedures were performed in the Optometry Office of the Physics Department of the University of Minho. For the amplitude of accommodation, the measured value increased significantly with the increase of the illuminance level until the illuminance of 170 lux, in contrast to the accommodative flexibility, whose value remained statistically constant from 100 lux to higher levels. When analyzing the impact of the refractive error on these differences, some discrepancies were found in the way that the refractive groups benefited from the increase in the illuminance under the measured values. The disparity in the results may be justified by issues related to photophobia, target contrast or retinal illuminance, since greater visibility allows for less effort to focus, as well as an effective accommodation. Determining the ideal ergonomic conditions allows to maximize the patient's vision, as it takes into account the illuminance level for which the patient obtains satisfaction and a better visual performance.

It has been evaluated the capacity of several phosphate-based acid catalysts of transition metals such as vanadium and niobium in the synthesis of carbon dots (CDs) via a hydrothermal process. For this purpose, two sources of carbohydrates have been used: commercial xylose and liqueur of xylose obtained from the treatment of olive pits. Catalysts were characterized by means of NH3-TPD, DTA/TG, XRD and XPS. The reaction was carried out at 180 °C and reaction time was varied between 2 and 4h. The properties and characteristics of CDs nanoparticles were analysed confirming the existence of such nanoparticles irrespective the carbohydrate source. In terms of CDs quality, both syntheses produced comparable results. At the same time, N doped CDs with enhanced fluorescence were also synthesized following a kindred hydrothermal process and the photocatalytic activity was studied. With the aim of evaluating the environmental impact of the synthesis from commercial xylose versus the synthesis from biomass, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis was carried out for both syntheses. It showed that the most sustainable synthesis route is the one that uses commercial xylose as carbonaceous feedstock. Furthermore, while electricity is the main contributor to all impact categories in both synthesis routes, the main differences that determine their relative sustainability are associated with the identity of the carbon precursor. A Infeção Associada aos Cuidados de Saúde (IACS) ou infeção nosocomial é reconhecida mundialmente como um grave problema de saúde pública. Segundo o Grupo Coordenação do Programa de Prevenção e Controlo de Infeções e de Resistência aos Antimicrobianos (GCPPCIRA) em 2017, Portugal apresentou 7,8% de doentes com IACS (GCPPCIRA, 2018). Na Região Autónoma da Madeira (RAM), a taxa de prevalência de infeção hospitalar em 2017, era de 8,3%, sendo que 26,9%, correspondem a prevalência da infeção do trato respiratório inferior. A pneumonia nosocomial não associada à ventilação mecânica, tem vindo a ser referenciada como uma causa importante de mortalidade. O objetivo deste projeto é reduzir este tipo de pneumonia em 50% na RAM, num período de quatro anos. A intervenção projetada, vai ao encontro das medidas preventivas – bundles, preconizadas internacionalmente, recorrendo há estratégia de planeamento, implementação e coordenação, focado na formação e sensibilização dos profissionais de saúde envolvidos, e no acompanhamento contínuo, com vista à obtenção dos resultados Health Care Associated Infection (HAI) or nosocomial infection is recognized worldwide as a serious public health problem. In Portugal, the percentage of patients with HAI was 7.8% in 2017, according to the Coordination Group of the Program for the Prevention and Control of Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (GCPPCIRA, 2018). In the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), the prevalence rate of hospital infection was 8.3%, with 26.9% corresponding to the prevalence of lower respiratory tract infection. Lately, an increasing significance has been attributed to the prevention of nosocomial pneumonia not associated with mechanical ventilation, which is an important cause of mortality. The aim of this project is to reduce this type of pneumonia by 50% in RAM, over the course of four year.
