This study investigates the social and spatial dimensions of mental health spaces, specifically focusing on the Bakırköy Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital. The aim of the research is to comprehend how the hospital space is transformed into a living space and carry social significance through the experiences and perspectives of healthcare personnel. The research was conducted using a phenomenological design. The study sample comprised 10 participants, including nurses, medical secretary, staff member, psychiatrists and social worker. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a semistructured interview form developed by the researchers. The content and details of the interviews were analysed using MAXQDA software through content analysis. The study highlights that mental health spaces are complex and involve a range of stories. It also emphasizes the importance of a sociological perspective in hospitals, where mental health and spaces are in constant interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sinema ve felsefe bağlamına odaklanıldığında filmler, nitelikli düşünme sürecinin önemli bir formu olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Sinemanın felsefenin bazı kavram ve yöntemlerini yorumlamada güçlü yanları bulunduğu varsayımına dayanan yalın sav üzerine kurulu bu nitel çalışmada fenomenolojik yöntemin romantik bakışla kesiştiği durumlar, bir film üzerinden analiz edilmektedir. Romantik bakışın görmenin fragmanlaşmasıyla çakışan serüveni, fenomenolojinin özne-nesne ilişkisi bağlamında ele alınmaktadır. Görme engelli bir öğretmenin kendisi gibi görme engelli öğrencilere verdiği hayal kurma derslerini içeren Imagine (2012) filmi, kapsam ve sınırlılık ekseninde amaçlı örneklem tekniği ile bu çalışmanın araştırma nesnesi ve örneklemi olarak seçildi. Yapılan çözümlemeden ve analizden hareketle, kuramsal çerçeve ve ele alınan filmsel metin arasındaki ilişki ekseninde sinema ve felsefe ilişkisi içerisinde hayal âleminin bir benzerini üreten bir form olarak sinemanın felsefe yapılacak bir zemin olarak güçlü olduğu değerlendirmesini yapmak ve iddia etmek mümkündür. Dahası varlıkbilim zemininde fenomenolojik yöntemin askıya alma ve transandantal deneyim gibi tekniklerin, film-düşünme pratiğinde somutlaştırılabildiği yapılan çalışma sonucunda görülmektedir.

Bu çalışma, yeti yitimi yaşayan bireylerin sakatlık deneyimlerini fenomenolojik bir bakışla ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Yeti yitiminin getirdiği bedensel değişimler çalışmanın ortaya koymaya çalıştığı hususların başında gelmektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışmada ortopedik ve görme engellerine sahip kişilerin sakatlığı bedenselleştirme durumları araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada ortopedik ve görme yeti yitimlerine sahip sakat kişilerin sakatlık algıları, sakatlık deneyimleri, gündelik hayat pratikleri, sakatlık algısının biçimleri, sakatlığı bedenselleştirme durumları incelenmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenolojik desen kullanılmıştır. Saha çalışmasında ortopedik ve görme yeti yitimlerine sahip 40 katılımcıyla derinlemesine görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, sakatlığın farklılığın farkındalığı ile başladığı gözlemlenmiştir. Bu farkındalık kişileri sosyal yaşamdan uzaklaştırmaktadır. Bu uzaklaşma sakat bireylerin yaşam seyrini değiştirmektedir. Ancak tüm bunlara karşın sakatlığın bir süre sonra normalliğe evrildiği görülmüştür. Sakatlık, zaman içerisinde bir normalliğe evrilse de toplumda bir dışlama biçimi olarak var olmaya devam etmektedir. Bu çerçevede sakatların bedensel deneyimleri fiziki beden, yaşanan beden, yaşam dünyası ve algılanan öteki başlıkları üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda yedi temaya ulaşılmıştır. Bunlar; farklılığın farkındalığı, yaşam dünyası ve sakatlık, stratejik davranışın bedenselleştirilmesi, sakatlık ve teknolojiyle yaşam, sakat bedende yaşam seyri, bedenin yeni normalliği ve sakatlığın sıradanlığıdır. Sonuç olarak sakatlığın bedensel bilginin yönetim stratejileriyle alakalı olduğu görülmüştür.

This study aims to establish a semiological approach to the gestural aspects, movements, and embodiment found in Sufi dance, commonly known as sama, which is typically categorized as a non-theatrical form of dance. However, it is essential to pay attention when employing the term non-theatrical, as it possesses both vague and connotative qualities. Therefore, its usage should be justified and approached with careful consideration. The objective of this research is to demonstrate that gestures within dance should no longer be regarded solely as corporeal and spontaneous accompaniments to speech, but rather as the primary mode of communication, akin to protolanguage. Subsequently, this study will explore the relationship between Sama and ancient Greek philosophy, as well as Heideggerian phenomenology, to delve into the philosophical and phenomenological dimensions of the Sufi dance. It will specifically investigate the notions of transcendence and presence within the context of Sama, drawing upon insights from these philosophical and phenomenological frameworks. In his later works, the great logician and mathematician Kurt Gödel concentrated his focus on philosophical problems such as the implications of set theory, the grammar and philosophy of language, objectivity and relativity, the ontological proof of God's existence, and phenomenology as an exact method. This essay explores how Gödel read the philosophy (of logic and mathematics) of his time and why he turned his attention to Husserl's phenomenology to describe the foundations of mathematics. To begin with, Gödel employs Husserl's significant distinction between Weltanschauung (worldview) philosophy and philosophy as rigorous science: According to the Weltanschauung philosophy, the spirit of time constantly changes so that the ideas discussed and goals attempted are meant to be temporal, and not for the sake of eternal truths, but for that of their own perfection; philosophy as rigorous science, on the other hand, is supratemporal so that its aim is to discover absolute and timeless values. As for the worldview of his time, Gödel saw the development of philosophy, and mathematics leaned toward skepticism, pessimism, and positivism. For instance, the antinomies of set theory have shaken the grounds on which mathematics and logic are founded. Gödel also used these paradoxes in his incompleteness theorems to prove that there are some statements that can neither be proven nor disproved within a system. This also means that arithmetic is not sufficient to prove consistency. From this, however, Gödel does not come to a conclusion for a nihilism in mathematics and logic: These mere antinomies of set theory do not "necessarily" lead us to logical positivism, and neither to such a materialism, nor to any kind of pessimistic theory of knowledge. The incompleteness theorems assert that there are arithmetical propositions that are true but neither provable nor unprovable within their own calculus, so that arithmetic is intrinsically incomplete. However, instead of Alfred Tarski's pathological view of examining the detections within the faulty system and then reforming the system all together, Gödel holds that we need to change our methods to find new patterns that describe the antinomies pointing to the unrecoverable reality of the mathematical world. Thus, Gödel does not follow any variation of the Weltanschauung philosophy of his time, either attempting to reduce mathematical realities to mathematical proofs in order to get rid of antinomies, or endeavoring to rescue a complete system of truths by a closed formal system, both Weltanschauung philosophies fail to set forth a realistic method. In this context, Gödel finds the task of phenomenology analogous to what he pursues, in terms of a systematic framework for the foundations of mathematics. Husserl's phenomenology, in Gödel's account, proliferates the intuition of (mathematical) essences and clarifies the meaning of undefinable concepts such as the antinomies of set theory. Applying phenomenological reduction to the objective reality of the mathematical world, Gödel believes that one obtains a clear experiential reality of the essential characteristics of (mathematical and logical) concepts. Briefly, what Gödel finds in Husserl's phenomenology that corresponds to his way of mathematical realism is a thoroughly designated method that gives us mathematical essences back again. Yönetim bilimi, insan odaklıdır ve yönetim alanını içeren birçok konu tıpkı insan hayatında olduğu gibi istatistiksel olarak irdelenemeyen oluşumları barındırır. Bu doğrultuda fenomenoloji kavramı yönetim alanında algısal bakış açısıyla anlamlandırmaya rehberlik eder. Fenomenoloji, bir felsefe, bir araştırma paradigması, bir metodoloji olarak tanımlanmış ve nitel araştırma ile eş tutulmuş bir terimdir. Araştırmanın amacı, fenomenolojiyi felsefi bir kavram olarak yönetim alanında yapılmış çalışmalar odağında yapılan bilimsel yayınların içerik analizini yaparak ilgili literatüre katkı sağlamaktır. Bu doğrultuda, araştırmada öncelikle Web of Science veri tabanı kullanılarak fenomenoloji konusunda yapılan 398 bilimsel yayın bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi ile irdelenmiş, ardından elde edilen veriler VOSviewer yazılım programı kullanılarak görselleştirilmiştir. Bilimsel yayınlar üzerinde atıf analizi, anahtar kelime, ortak yazar atıf analizi gibi bibliyometrik yöntemler kullanılmıştır. Bibliyometrik yöntemleri kullanarak, alanın dinamiklerine ilişkin kapsamlı bir görüş sunarak ve temel çalışmaları, ülkeleri, dergileri ve yazarları belirleyerek yönetim alanında fenomenoloji kavramına ilişkin literatürün gelişimi haritalandırılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda ulaşılan bulguların yönetim alanında fenomenoloji konusunda gelecekteki çalışmalara kaynak sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Çalışmada yaşlı bireylerin huzurevi yaşamına bakışı ele alınmaktadır. Huzurevleri toplum açısından düşkün ve kimsesiz kişilerin yaşadığı yerler gibi görülür. Yaşlanmayla birlikte ortaya çıkan sosyal, psikolojik ve ekonomik vb. değişimler birçok dezavantaja neden olmaktadır. Huzurevleri ile yaşlıların karşılaştıkları dezavantajların ve sorunların en aza indirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Özellikle barınma, beslenme ve güvenlik gibi ihtiyaçların karşılanmasında ortaya çıkan dezavantajların giderilmesinde huzurevlerinin pek çok katkısının olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu konuda araştırmalar yapılmasına karşın huzurevi sakinlerinin huzurevi yaşamı hakkındaki düşünceleri akademik açıdan yeterli ilgiyi görmemektedir. Bu çalışmada sakinlerin gözünden huzurevi yaşamının özünün anlaşılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla katılımcıları huzurevi yaşamını tercihe götüren nedenlere ve huzurevi yaşamındaki deneyimlerine odaklanılmıştır. Araştırmada fenomenolojik nitel araştırma deseni benimsenmiştir. 2019 yılı Mayıs ve Haziran aylarında 21 katılımcı ile 30-60 dakika süren derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Verilerin analiz edilmesi sonucunda huzurevi sakinlerinin huzurevi yaşamını tercih etme sebepleri olarak ekonomik yetersizlik, sosyal destek ihtiyacı, huzur ve özgürlük arayışı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca sakinler huzurevi yaşamını gündelik ihtiyaçlarını rahatlıkla karşılayabildikleri konforlu bir yaşam olarak tanımlamaktadır. Ancak sakinlerin gözünde huzurevi yaşamının ailenin sağladığı sosyal ve psikolojik destekten yoksun bir yaşam olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bu temalar çerçevesinde huzurevi yaşamının özünün zorunluluk, konfor ve özlem kavramlarıyla tanımlanabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, hemşirelik öğrencilerin ameliyathane deneyimlerini anlamayı ve yorumlamayı amaçlamaktır. Yöntem: Araştırma nitel araştırma düzeninde yer alan fenomenoloji desende tamamlandı. Bu desende bir olguya ilişkin bireylerin deneyimleri ve bu deneyime yükledikleri anlamlar ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Araştırmaya hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören ve kendi istekleri ile ameliyathane uygulaması yapan on son sınıf öğrencisi dahil edildi. Araştırma verileri öğrencilerle yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme ile toplanı ve fenomenolojik olarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: Araştırma verileri çözümlendiğinde; ameliyathaneden ürkme, ekibin bir parçası olduğunu düşünme ve ameliyathanede daha çok zaman geçirme isteği şeklinde üç ana kategori belirlendi. Ayrıca ürkme ana temasının altında soğuk boşluğa ve umuda yürüme şeklinde alt temalar saptandı. Ameliyathaneyi ürkütücü olarak tanımlayan öğrencinin yanında diğer klinik ortamlardan farklılıklarının güzel etkilerini ifade eden öğrencilere rastlandı. Sonuçlar hemşirelik öğrencilerinin klinik uygulamaların deneyimlerine etkilerinin görülmesine ve mesleki algılarının tanımlanmasına katkı sağlayacaktır. Araştırma sonuçları hemşirelik eğitiminde klinik uygulamaların planlanmasına katkı sağlayabilir.

Çalışmanın amacı mimarlıkta maddi olmayan meselesinin nasıl ele alındığını göz önüne sermek ve problemin gelişme ufkunu işaret eden eleştirel bir okuma yapmaktır. Çalışmanın kapsamı, ScienceDirect, Web of Science ve Google Scholar veritabanları üzerinden ulaşılan güncel akademik mimarlık literatürüdür. Çalışma, kavramsal inceleme ve düşünümsel tematik analizin birlikte kullanıldığı karma bir nitel araştırma yöntemine dayanmaktadır. Çalışmada, mimarlık literatürünü içine alan akademik veritabanlarında maddi olmayan kavramının, yan anlamlarının ve kavramsal açılımların izinin sürüldüğü bir kelime araması prosedürü takip edilmiştir. Üç tema altında konumlandırılan yaklaşımların pozitivist/materyalist paradigma ve varoluşsal/ontolojik paradigma olarak iki farklı düşünsel paradigma etkisinde şekillendiği gözlenmiştir. Kartezyen özne-nesne ayrımını benimseyen pozitivist/materyalist paradigma içinden gelişen yaklaşımların literatürde sayıca çok olduğu gözlenmiştir. Özne-nesne bütünselliğine dayalı varoluşsal/ontolojik paradigma içinden gelişen yaklaşımların ise maddi olmayanın kelime anlamına tam olarak karşılık vermesine rağmen sayıca az olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu grup yaklaşımın problem ile ilişkisi derinleştirilmeye değer görülmüş ve araştırma, maddi olmayanın metafizik, ontolojik ve varoluşsal kelime anlamlarını içerecek şekilde genişletilmiştir. Materyalist paradigmada fiziksel olmayan etmenler mekânın oluşumunu materyalist bir düzlemde belirlemektedir. Çalışma sonucunda varoluşsal paradigmada ortaya konan ontolojik ilkelerin de mekânın oluşumunu ontolojik düzlemde belirleyen maddi olmayan etmenler olarak ele alınabileceği önermesine ulaşılmıştır.

Generally known for the Maupassant style of short story writing, Turkish writer Ömer Seyfettin does not explicitly provide an in-depth psychological analysis of the characters he constructs in his works. Therefore, this endeavor falls to the readers of his short stories. However, no instance can be expected to produce discourse independent of their real-life experience or socially constructed teachings. Therefore, it is significant that the philosophical and psychological aspects of the literary characters built by the writers be analyzed in-depth. In this study, the actions and discourse of the protagonist Sermet Bey are analyzed through Cartesian doubt besides phenomenological considerations to uncover the psychological aspects of the character in the short story titled “Perili Köşk” by Ömer Seyfettin, in which the social transformation of the era is recounted with an ironic attitude to the superstitions held by the society. It is believed that the method employed in discovering the character’s psyche in this study could guide the methodology of relevant future studies. The analysis reveals the skeptical personality of the protagonist in the short story, with the eyesight and sense of hearing supposed by the protagonist as providing deceptive and misleading perceptions and the sense of touch adopted as the only medium to rely on with a view to indirect experience. It is concluded that the skeptical attitude of the protagonist does not bear a complete loyalty to the Cartesian doubt under mind-body dualism due to the role appointed to the sense of touch as opposed to the sleep-wake analogy of Descartes in which he rejects the reliability of this sense, rather the psyche of the protagonist in this short story could be analyzed through the phenomenological considerations and premises. This study aimed to determine the perspectives of parents towards table tennis and the changes they observed in their children. The research was designed as a qualitative research and a phenomenology pattern was used. In the sample selection of the study, the easily accessible case sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, was adopted. And 15 parents selected through this method were included in the study group. Semi-structured interviews, lasting 30 minutes on average, were conducted with the parents within the scope of 5 questions. Before starting the study, parents were informed ethically, and interviews were recorded after their consent was obtained. Afterwards, the relevant interviews were transcribed, content and descriptive analyses were made. As a result of the analyses made, it was seen that the children started the branch sometimes by being chosen or by chance and sometimes with the support of their parents. Parents stated that they preferred the branch because it could be done in any environment and it did not require contact. They also observed positive changes in their children's health, behaviour and academic field that their children were prepared for life thanks to the branch, and that's why the branch was at the center of their children's lives. It is thought that applying the findings obtained from this study to different branches and designing curricula and leisure time activity areas in terms of holistic development will be beneficial in terms of spreading the gains to the general and making more contributions. The aim of this research is to examine the perceptions of secondary school students towards the concept of prejudice. The phenomenology design, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. 14 secondary school students attending in the eighth grade of a public school participated in the research. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the research. The data of the research were collected by face-to-face interview method. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was seen that secondary school students mostly defined the concept of prejudice in the form of thoughts, comments and judgments and focused on the actual dimension of prejudice towards people. Most of the participants stated that prejudice has personal reasons. It was determined that secondary school students thought that prejudice would cause personal and social problems. It was concluded that the students mostly explained the results of prejudice at the level of individual and interpersonal relations.
