A quantum network provides an infrastructure connecting quantum devices with revolutionary computing, sensing, and communication capabilities. As the best-known application of a quantum network, quantum key distribution (QKD) shares secure keys guaranteed by the laws of quantum mechanics. A quantum satellite constellation offers a solution to facilitate the quantum network on a global scale. The Micius satellite has verified the feasibility of satellite quantum communications, however, scaling up quantum satellite constellations is challenging, requiring small lightweight satellites, portable ground stations and real-time secure key exchange. Here we tackle these challenges and report the development of a quantum microsatellite capable of performing space-to-ground QKD using portable ground stations. The quantum microsatellite features a payload weighing approximately 23 kg, while the portable ground station weighs about 100 kg. These weights represent reductions by more than an order and two orders of magnitude, respectively, compared to the Micius satellite. Additionally, we multiplex bidirectional satellite-ground optical communication with quantum communication, enabling key distillation and secure communication in real-time. Using the microsatellite and the portable ground stations, we demonstrate satellite-based QKD with multiple ground stations and achieve the sharing of up to 0.59 million bits of secure keys during a single satellite pass. We present here the CP asymmetries in the decay rate and angular distributions of $\tau\to K_S\pi\nu_\tau$ decays in the Standard Model (SM) and beyond (BSM). The CP asymmetries in the SM are induced by the CP violation in $K^0-\bar{K}^0$ mixing. To investigate the BSM CP-violating (CPV) effects, a model-independent analysis is performed by using the low-energy effective field theory (LEFT) framework at $\mu=2$~GeV. If one further assumes the BSM physics to stem from above the electroweak scale, the LEFT shall then be matched onto the SM effective field theory (SMEFT), the operators of which contributing to $\tau\to K_S\pi\nu_\tau$ decays will also contribute to the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) and $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixing. The stringent bounds from the latter suggest that no remarkable CPV effects can be observed in either the decay rate or the angular distributions. In this work, we make a study of the $\tau^- \to \omega\pi^-\nu_\tau$ decay in the framework of low-energy effective field theory. The $J^{\mathcal{P}G}$ decompositions of the quark currents and the $\omega\pi$ final state show that, besides the Standard Model vector interaction, only the non-standard tensor interaction can have a non-zero contribution to the decay. To discuss its effect, a reliable calculation of the $\omega\pi$ tensor form factors is necessary. After constructing the Lagrangian of resonance chiral theory with external tensor sources, we calculate both the vector and tensor form factors with the relevant resonance couplings determined by combining the QCD short-distance constraints, the fit to the spectral function of $\tau^- \to \omega\pi^-\nu_\tau$ decay, as well as the matching between the $\mathcal{O}(p^4)$ odd-intrinsic-parity operators after integrating out the vector resonances and the $\mathcal{O}(p^6)$ operators of chiral perturbation theory. The new physics effect is then investigated in the distributions of the spectral function and the forward-backward asymmetry of $\tau^- \to \omega\pi^-\nu_\tau$ decay. We find that the spectral function is dominated by the Standard Model, and the non-standard tensor contribution is negligible. However, since the forward-backward asymmetry can be only generated with a non-zero tensor interaction, the observable is quite sensitive to this kind of new physics. A future measurement of the observable at the Belle II experiment as well as at the proposed Tera-Z and STCF facilities is, therefore, strongly called for to check the existence of such a non-standard tensor interaction., Comment: 27 pages, 4 tables, and 2 figures; minor modification, final version published in the journal

The recent measurement of $\mathcal{B}(B^+\to K^+\nu\bar{\nu})$ by Belle-II reveals a $2.8~\sigma$ deviation from the Standard Model (SM) prediction. Combining this with a prior Belle measurement of $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\to K^{\ast0}\nu\bar{\nu})$, the upper bound of the ratio $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\to K^{\ast0}\nu\bar{\nu})/\mathcal{B}(B^+\to K^+\nu\bar{\nu})$ is notably smaller than the SM prediction. In this work, tensions are solved within the framework of Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). Flavor observables, described by Low-Energy Effective Field Theory (LEFT) operators, are interconnected by SMEFT at the electroweak scale. Utilizing a set of only four SMEFT operators, the FCNC process $b\to s\nu\bar{\nu}$ is correlated with $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$, $b\to u_i\ell\bar{\nu}$, $u_j\to s\ell\bar{\nu}$, $u_j\to u_i\nu\bar{\nu}$, and $u_j\to u_i\ell^+\ell^-$. Subsequently, we obtain the latest ranges of Wilson coefficients for these four operators through a global fit that accommodates flavor anomalies such as $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$, $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$, and $\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(\ast)}\nu\bar{\nu})$. Our findings reveal that predictions for $\mathcal{B}(B^+\to \tau^+\nu_\tau)$ and $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to \tau^+\nu_\tau)$ align well with measured values from Belle and BESIII, based on the fitted coefficients. The predicted branching fraction for $B^0\to K^{\ast0}\nu\bar{\nu}$ is $(1.42\pm 0.74)\times 10^{-5}$, closely approaching the current experimental upper limit. Kuiper's $V_n$ statistic, a measure for comparing the difference of ideal distribution and empirical distribution, is of great significance in the goodness-of-fit test. However, Kuiper's formulae for computing the cumulative distribution function, false positive probability and the upper tail quantile of $V_n$can not be applied to the case of small sample capacity $n$ since the approximation error is $\mathcal{O}(n^{-1})$. In this work, our contributions lie in three perspectives: firstly the approximation error is reduced to $\mathcal{O}(n^{-(k+1)/2})$ where $k$ is the expansion order with the \textit{high order expansion} (HOE) for the exponent of differential operator; secondly, a novel high order formula with approximation error $\mathcal{O}(n^{-3})$ is obtained by massive calculations; thirdly, the fixed-point algorithms are designed for solving the Kuiper pair of critical values and upper tail quantiles based on the novel formula. The high order expansion method for Kuiper's $V_n$-statistic is applicable for various applications where there are more than $5$ samples of data. The Hurst exponent is a significant indicator for characterizing the self-similarity and long-term memory properties of time sequences. It has wide applications in physics, technologies, engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, psychology and so on. Currently, available methods for estimating the Hurst exponent of time sequences can be divided into different categories: time-domain methods and spectrum-domain methods based on the representation of time sequence, linear regression methods and Bayesian methods based on parameter estimation methods. Although various methods are discussed in literature, there are still some deficiencies: the descriptions of the estimation algorithms are just mathematics-oriented and the pseudo-codes are missing; the effectiveness and accuracy of the estimation algorithms are not clear; the classification of estimation methods is not considered and there is a lack of guidance for selecting the estimation methods. In this work, the emphasis is put on thirteen dominant methods for estimating the Hurst exponent. For the purpose of decreasing the difficulty of implementing the estimation methods with computer programs, the mathematical principles are discussed briefly and the pseudo-codes of algorithms are presented with necessary details. Zernike radial polynomials (ZRP) play a significant role in application areas such as optics design, imaging systems, and image processing systems. Currently, there are two kinds of numerical schemes for computing the ZRP automatically with computer programs: one is based on the definition in which the factorial operations may lead to the overflow problem and the high order derivatives are troublesome, and the other is based on recursion which is either unstable or with high computational complexity. In this paper, our emphasis is focused on exploring the balanced binary tree (BBT) schemes for computing the ZRP: firstly an elegant formulae for computation is established; secondly the recursive and iterative algorithms based-on BBT are proposed; thirdly the computational complexity of the algorithms are analyzed rigorously; finally the performance of BBT schemes by testing the running time is verified and validated. Theoretical analysis shows that the computational complexity of balanced binary tree recursive algorithm (BBRTA) and iterative algorithm are exponential and quadratic respectively, which coincides with the running time test very well. Experiments show that the time consumption is about $1\sim 10$ microseconds with different computation platforms for the balanced binary tree iterative algorithm (BBTIA), which is stable and efficient for real-time applications. In the sense of STEM education, the connection of the BBT and ZRP exhibits the beauty and applications of discrete mathematical structure behind the engineering problem, which is worthy of introducing to the college students, computer programmers and optics engineers., Comment: 17 pages, 4 figures

The recent experimental results including $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$, $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$, $(g-2)_\mu$ and $W$ mass show deviations from the standard model (SM) predictions, implying the clues of new physics (NP). In this work, we investigate the explanations of these anomalies in the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (RPV-MSSM) extended with the inverse seesaw mechanism. The non-unitarity extent $\eta_{ee}$ and the loop corrections from the interaction $\lambda'\hat L \hat Q \hat D$ are utilized to raise the prediction of $W$ mass through muon decays. We also find that the interaction $\lambda'\hat L \hat Q \hat D$ involved with right-handed (RH)/singlet (s)neutrinos can explain the $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ anomalies simultaneously when considering nonzero $\lambda'_{1jk}$. For nonzero $\lambda'_{2jk}$, this model fulfills the whole $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ fit but cannot be accordant with $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ measurements. The explanations in both cases are also favored by $(g-2)_\mu$ data, neutrino oscillation data and the relevant constraints we scrutinized. In this paper, we calculate the QCD nonperturbative contributions of the neutrino-quark tensor operators to the neutrino magnetic moments by matching onto the chiral perturbation theory at low energies. These nonperturbative contributions can be compared to the perturbative ones, which are induced from one-loop mixing when performing the renormalization group evolutions from $\mu=m_W$ down to $\mu=2~\mathrm{GeV}$. We then constrain the dipole and tensor Wilson coefficients of the low-energy neutrino effective field theory (LNEFT) separately from the neutrino-electron scattering with Borexino data and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$\nu$NS) with COHERENT data to show the competition between these two contributions, at the renormalization scales $\mu=2~\mathrm{GeV}$ and $\mu=m_W$ in the $\bar{\mathrm{MS}}$ scheme. In the neutrino-electron scattering, it is found that the nonperturbative contributions dominate for the coefficients involving up and down quarks, while they are expected to be of the same order of magnitude as the perturbative contributions for the coefficients involving strange quark. As for constraints in the CE$\nu$NS, the tensor operators can contribute to the process through either direct or indirect way. As a result, the indirect contributions including nonperturbative and perturbative parts for all couplings become negligible in comparison with the direct ones. As the nonperturbative contributions crucially depend on the value of $c_T$, its inputs will affect the extraction of limits on the tensor LNEFT Wilson coefficients. Quantum key distribution (QKD) uses the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics to share unconditionally secure keys between distant users. Previous works based on the quantum science satellite "Micius" have initially demonstrated the feasibility of a global QKD network. However, the practical applications of space-based QKD still face many technical problems, such as the huge size and weight of ground stations required to receive quantum signals. Here, we report space-to-ground QKD demonstrations based on portable receiving ground stations. The weight of the portable ground station is less than 100 kg, the space required is less than 1 m$^{3}$ and the installation time requires no more than 12 hours, all of the weight, required space and deployment time are about two orders of magnitude lower than those for the previous systems. Moreover, the equipment is easy to handle and can be placed on the roof of buildings in a metropolis. Secure keys have been successfully generated from the "Micius" satellite to these portable ground stations at six different places in China, and an average final secure key length is around 50 kb can be obtained during one passage. Our results pave the way for, and greatly accelerate the practical application of, space-based QKD.

Inspired by the astonishing $7\sigma$ discrepancy between the recent CDF-II measurement and the standard model prediction on the mass of $W$-boson, we investigate the $\lambda'$-corrections to the vertex of $\mu\to\nu_\mu e\bar{\nu_e}$ decay in the context of the $R$-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model. These corrections can raise the $W$-boson mass independently. Combined with recent $Z$-pole and kaon decay measurements, $m_W \lesssim 80.37$ GeV can be reached. We find that these vertex corrections cannot explain the CDF result entirely at the $2\sigma$ and even $3\sigma$ levels.
