Background Type 2 diabetes is a major public health problem that jeopardizes the health of the population in China. The prediabetic state population is a huge reserve force for diabetes, for which appropriate intervention can prevent or delay diabetes, but community health management is ineffective at this stage. Objective To investigate the problems and influencing factors in community health management practice in prediabetic state, and propose systematic and operable strategies and recommendations on health management measures. Methods A systematic search was conducted from March to April 2023 to retrieve literature related to community health management of prediabetes in CNKI, Wanfang Data, CQVIP, PubMed, and Web of Science. The key informant interviews based on multiple perspectives were conducted from April to May 2023 in Shanghai communities, hospitals, and CDCs, which included 20 community health service center staff, health administrators, clinical endocrinologists, CDC health management staff, diabetes patients or prediabetes and their family members, and people with diabetes risk factors. The interviews content covered the current status of community health management of prediabetes, related attitudes and perceptions of prediabetes, and acceptance of relevant services. Fishbone diagram analysis were used for data analysis to sort out the hierarchy between the problems related to community health management of prediabetes. Results 14 relevant literature were eventually included to summarize 22 existing problems in community health management of prediabetic state based on literature and interviews, derive the problems in 4 dimension: patients, intervention scope, service ability and information system, and propose 8 influencing factors: disease risk perception level, self-management skill level, funding budget, work experience, workload, service accessibility, electronic health record construction level and information sharing scope level. Conclusion The prediabetic state population is an important target of community health management, and the process of policy change reflects the strengthening of attached to the them, but multiple sources of evidence prove that it is still a weak link at present. In view of the problems in the current practice, it is necessary to improve the knowledge, skills and other management capabilities of community health service personnel, optimize the information system platform based on the medical treatment combination, and further develop a more feasible and continuous health management model for prediabetic state integrating screening, management and intervention.

Background: Zinc finger MIZ-type containing 2 (ZMIZ2) can function as a coactivator and participate in the progression of certain malignant tumors; however, its expression and underlying molecular mechanism in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unknown. In this study, we aim to analyze the expression of ZMIZ2 and its tumorigenic function in NSCLC, identifying its related factors. Methods: ZMIZ2 expression in NSCLC tissue samples and cell lines was examined using immunohistochemistry and western blotting; its biological role was investigated using in vivo and in vitro assays. The association between ZMIZ2 and NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) was demonstrated using mass spectrometry and immunoprecipitation experiments. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes Pathway (KEGG)-based enrichment analysis, luciferase reporter assay, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT–qPCR) were conducted to verify the impact of ZMIZ2–SIRT1 combination on Hippo/Wnt pathways. Results: ZMIZ2 was highly expressed in NSCLC and positively associated with advanced pTNM staging, lymph node metastasis, and poor overall survival. Functional experiments revealed that ZMIZ2 promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasiveness of lung cancer cells—establishing its role as a promoter of oncogenes. Molecular mechanism studies identified SIRT1 as an assisted key factor interacting with ZMIZ2. KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that ZMIZ2 is closely related to Wnt/Hippo pathways; ZMIZ2–SIRT1 interaction enhanced SIRT1 deacetylase activity. Direct downregulation of intranuclear β-catenin and yes-associated protein (YAP) acetylation levels occurred independently of upstream proteins in Wnt/Hippo pathways; transcriptional activities of β-catenin-transcription factor 4 (TCF4) and YAP–TEA domain family transcription factors (TEADs) were amplified. Conclusions: ZMIZ2 promotes the malignant phenotype of lung cancer by regulating Wnt/Hippo pathways through SIRT1, providing an experimental basis for discovering novel biomarkers and developing tumor-targeted drugs. The remediation of dyes in wastewater using activated carbon produced from sewage sludge pyrolysis char (PYC) is an environmentally friendly and sustainable process. However, traditional activators can cause corrosion of the processing facility, thereby increasing the costs of waste disposal. Here, activated carbons were prepared from sewage sludge PYC, and the effects of activation conditions (different activators, temperature and time, and char:activator mass ratio) on their specific surface areas and adsorption of iodine and methylene blue (MB; model dye) were studied. The results showed that a value of 952 m2/g could be attained for the specific surface area and values of 882 and 162 mg/g for the adsorption of iodine and MB, respectively, by heating PYC with KHCO3 (PYC- KHCO3: 1:2 w/w) for 60 min at 800 ℃. Compared with activation by KOH, the adsorption of MB using PYC-KHCO3 was slightly lower but the yield was 13.7% higher. Optimization of the activation process using surface response modelling indicated that sensitivity of three key factors to the adsorption of iodine and MB followed the order: Mass ratio > temperature > time. Systematic investigation of the effects of time, pH and temperature on the removal of MB by the activated carbon revealed that adsorption conformed to the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetics. The proposed mechanisms of MB adsorption involved ion exchange, functional group complexation and physical/π-π interactions. This study provides a basis for the efficient remediation of dyes in wastewater using activated carbon prepared from sustainable sewage sludge PYC and green chemistry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
