General or case II interval‐censored data are commonly encountered in practice. We develop methods for model‐checking and goodness‐of‐fit testing for the additive hazards model with case II interval‐censored data. We propose test statistics based on the supremum of the stochastic processes derived from the cumulative sum of martingale‐based residuals over time and covariates. We approximate the distribution of the stochastic process via a simulation technique to conduct a class of graphical and numerical techniques for various purposes of model‐fitting evaluations. Clustered current status data are frequently encountered in biomedical research and other areas that require survival analysis. This paper proposes graphical and formal model assessment procedures to evaluate the goodness of fit of the additive hazards model to clustered current status data. The test statistics proposed are based on sums of martingale-based residuals. Relevant asymptotic properties are established, and empirical distributions of the test statistics can be simulated utilizing Gaussian multipliers. Extensive simulation studies confirmed that the proposed test procedures work well for practical scenarios. This proposed method applies when failure times within the same cluster are correlated, and in particular, when cluster sizes can be informative about intra-cluster correlations. This article discusses regression analysis of multivariate current status failure time data for which the observation time may be related to the underlying survival time. A local partial likelihood technique is used to estimate the varying coefficient covariate effect functions under the additive hazards frailty model. The asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are established. An extensive simulation study is conducted for the evaluation of the proposed procedure, the results of which indicate that the proposed method works well in practice. Clustered current status data frequently occur in many fields of survival studies. Some potential factors related to the hazards of interest cannot be directly observed but are characterized through multiple correlated observable surrogates. In this article, we propose a joint modeling method for regression analysis of clustered current status data with latent variables and potentially informative cluster sizes. The proposed models consist of a factor analysis model to characterize latent variables through their multiple surrogates and an additive hazards frailty model to investigate covariate effects on the failure time and incorporate intra-cluster correlations. We develop an estimation procedure that combines the expectation-maximization algorithm and the weighted estimating equations. The consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimators are established. The finite-sample performance of the proposed method is assessed via a series of simulation studies. This procedure is applied to analyze clustered current status data from the National Toxicology Program on a tumorigenicity study given by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Regression analysis of multivariate interval-censored failure time data has been discussed by many authors1-6. For most of the existing methods, however, one limitation is that they only apply to the situation where the censoring is non-informative or the failure time of interest is independent of the censoring mechanism. It is apparent that this may not be true sometimes and as pointed out by some authors, the analysis that does not take the dependent censoring into account could lead to biased or misleading results7,8. In this study, we consider regression analysis of multivariate interval-censored data arising from the additive hazards model and propose an estimating equation-based approach that allows for the informative censoring. The method can be easily implemented and the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimator of regression parameters are established. Also we perform a simulation study for the evaluation of the proposed method and it suggests that the method works well for practical situations. The additive hazards model is one of the commonly used models for failure time data analysis and many authors have discussed its estimation under various situations. In this paper, we consider the same problem but under some inequality constraints when one faces current status data, for which it does not seem to exist an established estimation procedure due to the difficulties involved. In particular, the restricted maximum likelihood estimation approach is derived and the asymptotic properties of the resulting estimator of regression parameters are established with the use of some optimization methods. Simulation studies are conducted to assess the finite-sample performance of the proposed method and suggest that it works well for practical situations. The gap time between recurrent events is often of primary interest in many fields such as medical studies, and in this article, we discuss regression analysis of the gap times arising from a general class of additive transformation models. For the problem, we propose two estimation procedures, the modified within-cluster resampling (MWCR) method and the weighted risk-set (WRS) method, and the proposed estimators are shown to be consistent and asymptotically follow the normal distribution. In particular, the estimators have closed forms and can be easily determined, and the methods have the advantage of leaving the correlation among gap times arbitrary. A simulation study is conducted for assessing the finite sample performance of the presented methods and suggests that they work well in practical situations. This article studies the absolute penalized convex function estimator in sparse and high-dimensional additive hazards model. Under such model, we assume that the failure time data are interval-censored and the number of time-dependent covariates can be larger than the sample size. We establish oracle inequalities based on some natural extensions of the compatibility and cone invertibility factors of the Hessian matrix at the true parameters in the model. Some similar inequalities based on an extension of the restricted eigenvalue are also established. Under mild conditions, we prove that the compatibility and cone invertibility factors and the restricted eigenvalues are bounded from below by positive constants for time-dependent covariates.
