Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major medical challenge due to its high incidence and poor prognosis. 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), although extensively studied in the treatment of HCC and other solid tumors, has limited application as a first-line therapy for HCC due to its resistance and significant inter-patient variability. To address these issues, researchers have explored drug repurposing. One of our key findings in this endeavour was the potent anti-HCC effect of the natural product Salidroside (Sal) when co-administered with 5-FU. Sal was found to inhibit mitosis and promote cellular senescence in HCC cells via a mechanism distinct from 5-FU, specifically by inducing excessive mitophagy that led to cellular mitochondrial dysfunction. Importantly, YIPF5 was confirmed as a potential molecular target of Sal. This natural product modulated YIPF5-induced mitophagy and influenced both mitosis and senescence in HCC cells. The combination of Sal and 5-FU demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in a mouse HCC model. In conclusion, our study was not only in line with the innovative strategy of drug repurposing, but also important for drug design and natural product screening targeting the relevant pathways.

Abstract As the main reservoir of coalbed gas in southeastern Sichuan, the mudstone of the Permian Longtan Formation has been drilled to obtain industrial gas, but the level of exploration and development is low. The researches on the types of lithological assemblages, reservoir characteristics, and gas-bearing properties are poor, which limits the evaluation and selection of the sweet point area for the marine-continental transitional shale gas. In this paper, by comparing the differential of different lithological distribution in the well L3, multiple discriminant functions and logging interpretation models for different lithology are established to determine the classification criteria of lithological assemblage types of shale formations. Based on the experimental results of high-temperature and high-pressure isothermal adsorption, the reservoir space distribution and gas-bearing characteristics of mudstone in different lithological assemblages are compared and analyzed. It is indicated that the four lithological assemblage types are found in the Permian Longtan Formation, including thick mudstone with the interlayer of coalbed (Type I), rich mudstone with the interlayer of sandstone and thin coalbed (Type II), sandstone interbedded with mudstone with the interlayer of coalbed (Type III), and limestone interbedded with sandstone with the interlayer of mudstone (Type IV), which are superimposed with each other. The different pore structure characteristics of mudstone in different lithological assemblages is the main influencing factor of differential gas-bearing property. The dominant lithological assemblages are Type I and Type II. Coalbed and carbonaceous mudstone are the source rock and primary storage space of adsorbed gas. Moreover, with low porosity and permeability, high breakthrough pressure and the strong sealing capacity of regional mudstone, it is easy to form the “microtrap” to store the natural gas. The sealing capacity of mudstone provides a favorable condition for gas preserve. Under the dynamic condition of hydrocarbon generation, the pressure storage box is formed, accompanied with the fine reservoir spaces and gas-bearing contents.

Abstract MeV temperature electrons are typically generated at laser intensities of 1018 W cm−2. Their generation at non-relativistic intensities (~1016 W cm−2) with high repetition rate lasers is cardinal for the realization of compact, ultra-fast electron sources. Here we report a technique of dynamic target structuring of micro-droplets using a 1 kHz, 25 fs, millijoule class laser, that uses two collinear laser pulses; the first to create a concave surface in the liquid drop and the second, to dynamically-drive electrostatic plasma waves that accelerate electrons to MeV energies. The acceleration mechanism, identified as two plasmon decay instability, is shown to generate two beams of electrons with hot electron temperature components of 200 keV and 1 MeV, respectively, at an intensity of 4 × 1016 Wcm−2, only. The electron beams are demonstrated to be ideal for single shot high resolution (tens of μm) electron radiography.

Fluorescent biosensor, which has the characteristics of high sensitivity, specificity, and low cost, can be directly detected in physiological fluids such as blood and serum. Therefore, the development of fluorescence sensor platforms for miRNA detection has a positive effect on the prevention and treatment of various diseases. In this paper, miR-34a was selected as a biological indicator of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We designed a circular single-stranded DNA (CSSD) biosensor, which uses two unmodified single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) with complementary ends, DNAa and DNAb, to form CSSD by DNA sequence pairing to improve thermal stability and achieve signal amplification. At the same time, CSSD can react with miR-34a, and then the DNA of the DNA–RNA chain is hydrolyzed by duplex-specific nuclease (DSN enzyme). Finally, miR-34a is released to partake in the subsequent step, thus realizing cycle amplification. By evaluating the change in fluorescence signal under the optimized conditions, we discovered that this approach exhibits impressive sensitivity, with a detection threshold reaching as low as 0.36 nM. This surpasses the performance of numerous preceding miRNA detection biosensors. Furthermore, the system displays excellent detection capabilities even in intricate settings like serum, showcasing a strong ability to differentiate and choose effectively. In summary, this is a signal-off fluorescent biosensor, which realizes the purpose of double amplification of biosensor signal by using CSSD and enzyme assistance so that it can be used as a valuable tool for early diagnosis of diseases.

Introduction: Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), as a main type of malignant kidney cancers, has a poor prognosis. Epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) exerts indispensable role in tumor progression and metastasis, including in KIRC. This study aimed to mine more EMT related details and build prognostic signature for KIRC.Methods: The KIRC scRNA-seq data and bulk data were downloaded from GEO and TCGA databases, respectively. The cell composition in KIRC was calculated using CIBERSORT. Univariate Cox regression analysis and LASSO Cox regression analysis were combined to determine the prognostic genes. Gene set variation analysis and cell-cell communication analysis were conducted to obtain more functional information. Additionally, functional analyses were conducted to determine the biological roles of si-LGALS1 in vitro.Results: We totally identified 2,249 significant differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in KIRC samples, meanwhile a significant distinct expression pattern was found in KIRC, involving Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition pathway. Among all cell types, significantly higher proportion of epithelial cells were observed in KIRC, and 289 DEGs were identified in epithelial cells. After cross analysis of all DEGs and 970 EMT related genes, SPARC, TMSB10, LGALS1, and VEGFA were optimal to build prognostic model. Our EMT related showed good predictive performance in KIRC. Remarkably, si-LGALS1 could inhibit migration and invasion ability of KIRC cells, which might be involved in suppressing EMT process.Conclusion: A novel powerful EMT related prognostic signature was built for KIRC patients, based on SPARC, TMSB10, LGALS1, and VEGFA. Of which, si-LGALS1 could inhibit migration and invasion ability of KIRC cells, which might be involved in suppressing EMT process.

Abstract Background Biliary tract cancers (BTCs) are a series of heterogeneous malignancies that are broadly grouped based on the anatomical site where they arise into subtypes including intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ECC), gallbladder cancer (GBC), and ampulla of Vater cancer (AVC). Methods and Results The present study provides an overview of the epidemiology of the various BTCs based on data from the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database from 2000 to 2018. Distinct differences in both incidence and mortality rates were observed for these BTCs as a function of age, sex, ethnicity, and calendar year. In 2018, BTCs emerged as the fifth most prevalent form of alimentary tract cancer in the USA. While the incidence and mortality of ICC appear to be increasing, the incidence rates of GBC, ECC, and AVC have remained stable, as have the corresponding mortality rates. The most common and deadliest BTCs in 2018 were ICC and GBC among males and females, respectively. The ethnic groups exhibiting the highest incidence rates of these different BTCs were American Indians and Alaska Natives for GBC, and Asian and Pacific Islanders for ICC, ECC, and AVC. The incidence of all of these forms of BTC rose with age. There were some variations in BTCs in terms of staging, locoregional surgical treatments, adjuvant therapies, and prognostic outcomes from 2000 to 2018. Conclusions The epidemiological characteristics, staging, locoregional surgical treatments, adjuvant therapies, and prognostic outcomes were distinct for each of these BTCs.

When offshore-island renewable distribution systems (OIRDSs) encounter multiple failures in case of extreme weather, the battery charging–swapping system (BCSS) is a promising solution to reduce the power outage loss and enhance resilience of OIRDSs. However, extreme weather (such as heavy rain) may affect the logistic speed, resulting in a non-integer-hour battery schedule time among stations. Although rounding the time as integer hours could match the scheduling step size, large errors would be caused. To solve the problem, a novel OIRDS resilience enhancement strategy is proposed. First, the impacts of the rainfall, solar radiation, and wind speed on the renewable generation and battery transfer time are analyzed. On this basis, a dual unit commitment method is presented to coordinate the scheduling step and non-integer-hour battery transfer time. Moreover, an optimal OIRDS resilience enhancement model integrating decisions of the battery schedule and network reconfiguration is presented based on a 1-hour scheduling step. This model is converted into a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) problem and solved efficiently. Simulation studies on an IEEE-11 node distribution network indicate the proposed strategy is effective and beneficial.

Abstract A biohybrid therapeutic system, consisting of responsive materials and living microorganisms with inter‐cooperative effects, is designed and investigated for tumor treatment. In this biohybrid system, S2O32−‐intercalated CoFe layered double hydroxides (LDH) are integrated at the surface of Baker's yeasts. Under the tumor microenvironment, functional interactions between yeast and LDH are effectively triggered, resulting in S2O32− release, H2S production, and in‐situ generation of highly catalytic agents. Meanwhile, the degradation of LDH in the tumor microenvironment induces the exposure of the surface antigen of yeast, leading to effective immune activation at the tumor site. By virtue of the inter‐cooperative phenomena, this biohybrid system exhibits significant efficacy in tumor ablation and strong inhibition of recurrence. This study has potentially offered an alternative concept by utilizing the metabolism of living microorganisms and materials in exploring effective tumor therapeutics.

Objective The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to investigate whether glucocorticoid might be beneficial after hepatectomy.Design Systematic review and meta-analysis.Data sources PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science.Eligibility criteria We included studies assessing the efficacy of perioperative glucocorticoid administration in patients undergoing liver surgery.Data extraction and synthesis Four data bases were retrieved for all randomised controlled trials. We considered postoperative complications, hospital stay and postoperative chemistry evaluations as outcomes. Pooled effects of dichotomic variables were expressed as relative risk (RR) with a 95% CI. The mean difference was used for continuous variables and an inverse variance statistical method was adopted.Results Fourteen studies with 1205 patients were included. Lower risk of overall complications was associated with glucocorticoid (RR, 0.77; 95% CI 0.64 to 0.92), while no difference was found in hospital stay (RR, 0.02; 95% CI −0.47 to 0.51). There were also improvements in postoperative chemistry evaluations including interleukin 6 on day 1 and 3, C reactive protein on day 1, 2 and 3, international normalised ratio on day 2, total bilirubin on day 1, 2, 3 and 5, albumin on day 1.Conclusion Current evidence indicated that perioperative glucocorticoid administration for patients undergoing hepatectomy reduced the risk of overall complications with inhibited postoperative inflammatory response and improved postoperative liver function.PROSPERO registration number CRD42022307533.

Laser plasma electron acceleration from the interaction of an intense femtosecond laser pulse with an isolated microparticle surrounded by a low-density gas is studied here. Experiments presented here show that optimized plasma tailoring by introducing a pre-pulse boosts parametric instabilities to produce MeV electron energies and generates electron temperatures as large as 200 keV with the total charge being as high as 350 fC/shot/sr, even at a laser intensity of a few times 10 ^16 Wcm ^−2 . Corroborated by particle-in-cell simulations, these measurements reveal that two plasmon decay in the vicinity of the microparticle is the main contributor to hot electron generation.

Background: The prognosis of gallbladder cancer (GBC) is dismal. This study aimed to compare the outcomes of adjuvant chemoradiotherapy (ACR) with those of surgery alone (S) and adjuvant chemotherapy (AC). Method: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program database was used to identify patients diagnosed with GBC and undergoing surgery between 2004 and 2015. The patients were divided into the S, AC, and ACR groups according to their treatment. Categorical variables were compared by Pearson’s chi-square test, and a 1:1:1 propensity score matching analysis (PSM) was performed. Overall survival was assessed by Kaplan-Meier curves with log-rank tests. Subgroup analyses were conducted. Result: A total of 5451 patients were identified in the SEER database. After PSM, the two-year survival among patients who received S, AC, and ACR was 36%, 39%, and 45%, respectively. BackgroundThe purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of lymph node dissection in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC).MethodsThe literature from January 2009 to December 2021 was searched to determine the comparative study of lymph node dissection and non-lymph node dissection in patients with ICC.ResultsSeventeen studies were included in the analysis. There were no significant differences in 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival (OR = 0.80, p = 0.10; OR = 0.93, p = 0.71; OR = 0.80, p = 0.21) and 1-, 3-, and 5-year disease-free survival (OR = 0.89, p = 0.73; OR = 0.92, p = 0.81; OR = 0.85, p = 0.62).ConclusionsLymph node dissection does not seem to have a positive effect on the overall survival and disease-free survival.

A self-homodyne coherent (SHC) transmission system that has a good prospect in terms of short-reach interconnections can simplify digital signal processing (DSP) and reduce the power consumption of laser diodes. However, the polarization control of the carrier becomes a pivotal part of these systems, and different from the traditional polarization control on a certain state of polarization (SOP), it only needs to lock the two polarization lights after the polarization beam splitter (PBS) in a state of equal power. Half-wave plates or Mach–Zehnder interferometers can accomplish the above goals. In order to evaluate the performance of these polarization control structures in the SHC system, we modeled them on the basis of theoretical analysis. Furthermore, a variable-step greedy linear descent (GLD) algorithm is proposed to solve the power fluctuation problem caused by the accelerated change of SOP near the pole of the Poincaré sphere. The simulation results indicate that the variable-step GLD algorithm can effectively improve the tracking ability of the polarization control loop up to approximately 1.5 times of the GLD algorithm and the gradient descent (GD) algorithm.

Streptococcus suis is a significant zoonotic pathogen that is a great threat not only to the swine industry but also to human health, causing arthritis, meningitis, and even streptococcal toxic shock-like syndrome. Owing to its many serotypes and high geographic variability, an efficacious cross-protective S. suis vaccine is not readily available. Therefore, this study aimed to design a universal multi-epitope vaccine (MVHP6) that involved three highly immunogenic proteins of S. suis, namely, the surface antigen containing a glycosaminoglycan binding domain (HP0197), endopeptidase (PepO), and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGD). Forecasted T-cell and B-cell epitopes with high antigenic properties and a suitable adjuvant were linked to construct a multi-epitope vaccine. In silico analysis showed that the selected epitopes were conserved in highly susceptible serotypes for humans. Thereafter, we evaluated the different parameters of MVHP6 and showed that MVHP6 was highly antigenic, non-toxic, and non-allergenic. To verify whether the vaccine could display appropriate epitopes and maintain high stability, the MVHP6 tertiary structure was modeled, refined, and validated. Molecular docking studies revealed a strong binding interaction between the vaccine and the toll-like receptor (TLR4), whereas molecular dynamics simulations demonstrated the vaccine’s compatibility, binding stability, and structural compactness. Moreover, the in silico analysis showed that MVHP6 could evoke strong immune responses and enable worldwide population coverage. Moreover, MVHP6 was cloned into the pET28a (+) vector in silico to ensure the credibility, validation, and proper expression of the vaccine construct. The findings suggested that the proposed multi-epitope vaccine can provide cross-protection against S. suis infections.

To overcome the inherent bandwidth limitation of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) ultraviolet communication (UVC) channel, a novel space division multiplexing (SDM) framework based on non-coplanar rotation angle is established. The influence of SDM structure parameters on inter-channel interference (ICI) is studied to obtain the optimal antenna configuration. And a Gaussian approximate distribution (GAD) signal detection model is presented, which simplifies the calculation of the Bit error rate (BER) of the Photon multiplier tube (PMT) reception and is suitable for complex ICI analysis. Furthermore, a low ICI scheme based on the relationship between BER and the interference factor is proposed to increase the data transmission rate or reduce the alignment configuration. As a result, the maximum data rate increases to 34 Mbps, or the alignment demand decreases by 33.33% at most. Moreover, these analysis results and techniques can be applied to other NLOS scattering optical wireless communication systems.

Single crystals of the perovskite nickelate NdNiO3 with dimensions of up to 50 μm on edge have been successfully grown using the flux method at a temperature of 400 °C and oxygen pressure of 200 bar. The crystals were investigated by a combination of techniques, including high-resolution synchrotron X-ray single-crystal and powder diffraction and physical property measurements such as magnetic susceptibility and resistivity. Resistivity measurements revealed a metal-insulator transition (MIT) at TMIT~180 K with apparent thermal hysteresis; however, no superlattice peaks or peak splitting below TMIT, which corresponds to a structural transition from Pbnm to P21/n, was observed. The successful growth of NdNiO3 crystals at relatively low temperatures and oxygen pressure provides an alternative approach for preparing single crystals of interesting perovskites such as RNiO3 (R = Sm-Lu) and parent phases of superconducting square planar nickelates.

A total of 240 1-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers were randomly divided into five dietary treatments (control feed (CON), supplemented with 75 mg/kg aureomycin (ANT), supplemented with 7.5 × 108 CFU/kg (Ba1) and 2.5 × 109 CFU/kg (Ba1), and 7.5 × 109 CFU/kg (Ba3) Bacillus amyloliquefaciens TL106, respectively) to investigate the probiotic effect of TL106 instead of antibiotics in broilers. On days 1–21, the average daily gain of broilers in the Ba groups was increased compared with the CON group (p < 0.05). In addition, the feed/gain ratio of broilers in the Ba groups was lower than that of broilers in the CON and ANT groups on days 22–42 and days 1–42 (p < 0.05). Compared with the CON group, dietary TL106 increased the digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein (p < 0.05), and the effect was similar to that of the ANT group. The levels of IL-1β, IFN-γ, and IL-6 in serum, jejunum, and ileum of broilers fed TL106 were decreased compared with the control group (p < 0.05). The mRNA expression of tight junction proteins in broilers of ANT and Ba groups was higher than the control group (p < 0.05). After 21 days, villus height and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth of duodenum and jejunum of broilers fed TL106 were higher than the control group (p < 0.05). The concentrations of short-chain fatty acids such as lactate, acetate, propionate, and butyrate in cecal digesta of broilers dietary TL106 were higher than the control group (p < 0.05). The supplementation with TL106 altered the compositions and diversity of the cecal microbiota of broilers. Moreover, supplementation with TL106 improved the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes and decreased the relative abundance of Proteobacteria on days 21 and 28, while the abundance of Peptostreptococcaceae, Ruminococcaceae and Lactobacillaceae was increased. On days 35 and 42, broilers fed TL106 had an increased total abundance of Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes and decreased abundances of Lactobacillaceae, while the abundance of Barnesiellaceae was increased. In conclusion, dietary supplementation with TL106 improved the broiler’s growth performance, immune response capacity, gut health, modulated development, and composition of the gut microbiota in broilers. It is suggested that Bacillus amyloliquefaciens TL106 may be a suitable alternative to in-feed antibiotics to improve broiler health and performance.

BackgroundThe aim of this study was to analyze the psychological status of and its influencing factors in health care workers (HCWs) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak so as to provide sufficient theory and scientific basis for the formulation and implementation of relevant policies and measures in improving the psychological status of HCWs.MethodDuring February 1 to February 20, 2020, 1,002 members of the HCWs from Xi’an and Wuhan completed a 12-item questionnaire regarding pressure about the COVID-19 influenza pandemic, along with the 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). The GHQ-12 scale was divided by three points. The positive group was scored more than 3. All data were analyzed by SPSS.ResultsMore than half of the participants (61.1%) reported psychological distress. The HCWs have sufficient information about the COVID-19 symptoms, prognosis, treatment, infection route, and preventive measures (medians ranged from 6/9 to 8/9). Female, engaged in clinic work less than 7 years, married person, and working in Wuhan were risk factors affecting the psychological status of HCWs (P < 0.05).ConclusionPsychological distress is common in HCWs during the COVID-19 outbreak. Hospitals and relevant departments should provide psychological support to HCWs, and strict infection control measures should be developed.

Bacteria can modify their morphology in response to environmental stimuli for survival or host defense evasion. The rich glucose in vivo or in the Luria–Bertani (LB) medium shortened the cell length of Klebsiella pneumoniae. The environmental glucose decreased the levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and the transcription of crp, which declined the cAMP–cAMP receptor protein (cAMP-CRP) activity. The cell length of crp deletion mutant was significantly shorter than that of the wild type (0.981 ± 0.057 μm vs. 2.415 ± 0.075 μm, P < 0.001). These results indicated that the high environmental glucose alters the bacterial morphology to a round form through regulating the activity of cAMP-CRP complex. Comparative proteomics analysis showed increased expression of 10 proteins involved in cell division or cell wall biosynthesis in the crp deletion strain. Five of them (ompA, tolB, ybgC, ftsI, and rcsF) were selected to verify their expression in the high-glucose environment, and overexpression of tolB or rcsF shortened the bacterial length similar to that of the crp deletion strain. Electrophoretic mobility shift assay indicated that CRP directly negatively regulates the transcription of tolB and rcsF by binding to the promoter regions. This study first proved the role and partial regulation mechanism of CRP in altering cell morphology during infection and provided a theoretical basis for elucidating the mechanism in diabetes mellitus susceptible to K. pneumoniae.

In this paper, we take a first step toward the mobile support for nonline-of-sight ultraviolet (UV) links by introducing a mesh UV network framework. Spatial multiplexing noncoplanar multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) UV system architecture is designed geometrically for the mobile mesh network to overcome the data rate bottleneck induced by scattered UV channel. Based on the MIMO UV channel characteristics, we further propose a modified sphere decoding (SD) method to accomplish MIMO signal detection in practical spatial correlated channels at a linear computational complexity. We evaluate mobile MIMO channel responses under various geometric parameters and the feasibility of this system geometry in $2 \times 2$ and $4 \times 4$ cases. Comparison of the bit error rates (BERs) between the modified SD, zero forcing, and SD is also done. Numerical results demonstrate that compared with the traditional linear array system structure, fully multiplexing is much easier via the noncoplanar MIMO geometry under very realistic parameters and the modified SD significantly improves the MIMO signal detection complexity with bit BER performance loss.

BackgroundCarotid atherosclerotic plaque rupture is an important source of ischemic stroke. However, the prevalence of high‐risk plaque (HRP) defined as plaques with luminal surface disruption, a lipid‐rich necrotic core occupying >40% of the wall, or intraplaque hemorrhage in Chinese population remains unclear. This study uses carotid magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) to investigate HRP prevalence in carotid arteries of Chinese patients with cerebrovascular symptoms. Methods and ResultsPatients with cerebral ischemic symptoms in the anterior circulation within 2 weeks and carotid plaque determined by ultrasound were recruited and underwent CMRI. The HRP features were identified and compared between symptomatic and asymptomatic arteries. Receiver‐operating‐characteristic analysis was used to calculate area‐under‐the‐curve (AUC) of stenosis and maximum wall thickness for discriminating presence of HRP. In 1047 recruited subjects, HRP detected by CMRI was nearly 1.5 times more prevalent than severe stenosis (≥50%) in this cohort (28% versus 19%, P

Temperature-dependent threshold voltage (Vth) stability is a significant issue in the practical application of semi-conductor power devices, especially when they are undergoing a repeated high-temperature operation condition. The Vth analytical model and its stability are dependent on high-temperature operations in wide-bandgap gallium nitride (GaN)-based high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) devices that were investigated in this work. The temperature effects on the physical parameters—such as barrier height, conduction band, and polarization charge—were analysed to understand the mechanism of Vth stability. The Vth analytical model under high-temperature operation was then proposed and developed to study the measurement temperatures and repeated rounds dependent on Vth stability. The validity of the model was verified by comparing the theoretical calculation data with the experimental measurement and technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulation results. This work provides an effective theoretical reference on the Vth stability of power devices in practical, high-temperature applications.

Nowadays, pesticides are widely used in preventing and controlling the diseases and pests of crop, but at the same time pesticide residues have brought serious harm to human’s health and the environment. It is an important subject to study microbial degradation of pesticides in soil environment in the field of internationally environmental restoration science and technology. This paper summarized the microbial species in the environment, the study of herbicide and pesticides degrading bacteria and the mechanism and application of pesticide microbial degrading bacteria. Cypermethrin and other pyrethroid pesticides were used widely currently, while they were difficult to be degraded in the natural conditions, and an intermediate metabolite, 3-phenoxy benzoic acid would be produced in the degradation process, causing the secondary pollution of agricultural products and a series of problems. Taking it above as an example, the paper paid attention to the degradation process of microorganism under natural conditions and factors affecting the microbial degradation of pesticide. In addition, the developed trend of the research on microbial degradation of pesticide and some obvious problems that need further solution were put forward.

Stroke is a chronic cerebrovascular disease that carries a high risk. Stroke risk assessment is of great significance in preventing, reversing and reducing the spread and the health hazards caused by stroke. Aiming to objectively predict and identify strokes, this paper proposes a new stroke risk assessment decision-making model named Logistic-AdaBoost (Logistic-AB) based on machine learning. First, the categorical boosting (CatBoost) method is used to perform feature selection for all features of stroke, and 8 main features are selected to form a new index evaluation system to predict the risk of stroke. Second, the borderline synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) algorithm is applied to transform the unbalanced stroke dataset into a balanced dataset. Finally, the stroke risk assessment decision-makingmodel Logistic-AB is constructed, and the overall prediction performance of this new model is evaluated by comparing it with ten other similar models. The comparison results show that the newmodel proposed in this paper performs better than the two single algorithms (logistic regression and AdaBoost) on the four indicators of recall, precision, F1 score, and accuracy, and the overall performance of the proposed model is better than that of common machine learning algorithms.
