House Republicans pulled out the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Amendments Act from the House floor. The controversial amendment is being sought by Federal Express Corp. The bipartisan bill will modestly increase the unemployment benefits of rail workers to keep up with inflation. GOP representatives are seeking to restore language to the Railway Labor Act which was removed from federal law by the Interstate Commerce Commission Termination Act.
