Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the functional outcome of dynamic condylar screw (DCS) fixation in the treatment of unstable proximal femoral fractures in adults. Study Place and Duration: This descriptive study was done from March 2021 to November 2022 at MTI Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Methods: A descriptive study, employing dynamic condylar screws to treat proximal femur fractures in all adult patients who met the inclusion criteria, was utilized in this in-depth examination (DCS). The Harris Hip Score was used to determine post-surgery mobility. Results: The average age of patients was 63 having standard deviation of 14. Fracture union took 14.3 +/- 3.8 weeks on the average. At 24 months, the typical HHS was 85.2 +/-12.3, and 78.1% of patients reported adequate or outstanding functional performance. Nonunion, malunion, or hardware failure occurred in 13.3% of patients. Complications were unaffected by age, gender, or fracture type. Conclusion: Dynamic condylar screw therapy has demonstrated promising functional and radiological benefits with few adverse effects in people with unstable proximal femoral fractures. DCS fixation, an efficient treatment for such fractures, is one of the best treatment for such fractures.

Background and Aim: Recurrent shoulder dislocations can be treated with a variety of surgical procedures. However, soft-tissue repair appears to be ineffective in all cases of recurrent shoulder dislocation. The present study aimed to determine the Latar jet technique functional outcome for recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation. Patients and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 42 recurrent shoulder dislocation patients at the MTI Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar from January 2019 to December 2022. All the eligible patients were operated with open Latar jet procedure. Constant-Murley shoulder score was used for the assessment of functional outcome at 6th months. SPSS version 27 was used for data analysis. Results: Of the total 42 patients, there were 40 (95.2%) male and 2 (4.8%) female. The overall mean age was 46.8±8.4 years. The right and left-side involvement was found in 32 (76.2%) and 12 (23.8%) respectively. The incidence of poor, fair, good, and very good outcomes was 3 (7.1%), 4 (9.5%), 12 (28.6%), and 23 (54.8%) respectively. There was significant improvement in shoulder motion and reduction in pain after 6th month's follow-up.

Objective: To identify the causes of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) failure and assess the functional results of patients who received revision TKA. Study Design: Descriptive Study Place and Duration: Orthopedic department of Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar in the duration from 1st June, 2022 to 30 November, 2022 Methods: The study included all patients who had undergone initial TKA and subsequently underwent revision TKA. Functional outcomes following revision TKA were assessed at six months using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) questionnaire, and the revision arthroplasty criteria were validated. Statistical significance was determined using a t-test that compared patients' WOMAC scores before and after surgery. Results: A total of 312 revision TKAs were performed on 200 patients in the study, with 89.6% of them transferred to our center. Sixty-nine percent of patients who underwent TKA required a further revision procedure. Over four fifths (73.7%) of all revisions were made after the event. 122 (38.1%) of the cases had been resolved in some fashion. The most common reason for a second surgery after an initial replacement was infection (36.1%), followed by aseptic loosening (21.9%) and periprosthetic fracture (13.7%). The majority of our patients who underwent a second arthroplasty were happy with the functional outcomes. Conclusion: The three most common reasons for a TKA to fail are infection, periprosthetic fracture, and aseptic loosening. Significant improvements in functional outcomes were seen with revision TKA, albeit a sizable proportion of patients still suffered or required additional intervention. Objective: The purpose of this research is to evaluate the efficacy of closed versus open interlocking nails in treating femur shaft fractures. Study Design: Retrospective cohort study Place and Duration: This Retrospective cohort study was conducted at MTI Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar in the duration from 1st March, 2022 to 31 August, 2022. Methods: This research involved 108 cases with age 20-72-year had femoral shaft fracture were included. After informed written consent, age, sex, body mass index, and fracture reason were computed. Patients were equally divided in two groups. Group I utilized open interlocking nails, whereas group II used closed. Post-operative radiological and surgical results were evaluated for union, non-union, and delayed union. Calculated infection prevalence for both groups.
