A set of mobile robots is placed at arbitrary points of an infinite line. The robots are equipped with GPS devices and they may communicate their positions on the line to a central authority. The collection contains an unknown subset of "spies", i.e., byzantine robots, which are indistinguishable from the non-faulty ones. The set of the non-faulty robots needs to rendezvous in the shortest possible time in order to perform some task, while the byzantine robots may try to delay their rendezvous for as long as possible. The problem facing a central authority is to determine trajectories for all robots so as to minimize the time until all the non-faulty robots have met. The trajectories must be determined without knowledge of which robots are faulty. Our goal is to minimize the competitive ratio between the time required to achieve the first rendezvous of the non-faulty robots and the time required for such a rendezvous to occur under the assumption that the faulty robots are known at the start. In this paper, we give rendezvous algorithms with bounded competitive ratio, where the central authority is informed only of the set of initial robot positions, without knowing which ones or how many of them are faulty. In general, regardless of the number of faults f ≤ n − 2 it can be shown that there is an algorithm with bounded competitive ratio. Further, we are able to give a rendezvous algorithm with optimal competitive ratio provided that the number f of faults is strictly less than ⌈ n / 2 ⌉. Note, however, that in general this algorithm does not give an estimate on the actual value of the competitive ratio. However, when an upper bound on the number of byzantine robots is known to the central authority, we can provide algorithms with constant competitive ratios and in some instances we are able to show that these algorithms are optimal. Moreover, in the cases where the number of faults is either f = 1 or f = 2 we are able to compute the competitive ratio of an optimal rendezvous algorithm, for a small number of robots. In this paper, we demonstrate a high-throughput technique for screening carbon nanotube (CNT) circuits using radio frequency (RF) heating. It has become increasingly common to integrate carbon nanotubes into electronic devices because of their superior electrical and mechanical properties, and CNT-based circuits can be screen printed in mass quantities. Currently, the process for screening the quality of these circuits requires that the 2-point resistance of every circuit be measured individually; this metric is tedious, slow, and prone to false positives. We recently reported that CNTs experience heating when exposed to RF fields. Since the heating response is correlated with the conductivity of the printed structure, RF heating and thermal imaging allows us to quickly assess circuit quality. This new technique screens CNT circuits ten times faster than conventional methods, and it identifies faulty circuits more reliably. This process is not limited to CNT-based circuits, and it can be used to rapidly image any 2D structure made from an RF responsive material. Image 1 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

8. The Barriers and Facilitators for Nurse Educators Using Telehealth for Education.

Telehealth is available world-wide and in addition to clinical uses, it can also be used to provide education for health professionals, supporting e-Networking. However, within New Zealand the uptake and widespread use of telehealth remains low, and why telehealth is not used more is not understood. This study describes nurse educators use of telehealth for education and identifies barriers and facilitators to increase the uptake of telehealth amongst nurse educators. An on-line survey administered using Survey Monkey had a response rate of 57% (n=19). Equipment that was not user friendly and a lack of initial training were recognised as barriers to their uptake of telehealth. Telehealth training and support, and local champions were identified facilitators to increase the uptake of telehealth. Recommendations include the need for early adopting nurse educators to be recognised and encouraged, to role model good practice in telehealth, and mentor and support others. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to determine the perspective of faculty and students on the significance of offering Filipino subjects in tertiary education in the implementation of the K-12 Curriculum. The study respondents were the thirty Faculty and 103 BSED Students from 1st Year to 4th Year of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), Batad Campus. A researcher-made questionnaire checked by the adviser and professors who were experts in validating and refining items was used to gather the data needed in the study. The descriptive statistics like mean and standard deviation were used to describe the data in finding the significant differences between the variables such as National Identity, Preservation of Culture, Emblem of Independence, Proof of Nationalism & Patriotism, Inculcate Unity & Progress, value system, beliefs, Tradition, Culture were determined using the T-Test test set at .05 level of confidence. Findings revealed that no significant differences existed between Faculty and Students regarding National Identity, Preservation of Culture, the Emblem of Independence, Proof of Nationalism & Patriotism, value system, Beliefs, Traditions, and Culture. However, significant differences were observed between Faculty and Students to Inculcate Unity & Progress. Instead of the findings, it was recommended that along with the advocacy and pursuit of the Filipino subjects in the tertiary education, there shall always have value integration that Filipino is that as Filipinos, it is what binds us as countrymen of the Philippines. It teaches us to be good at speaking in Filipino, but it also showcases Filipino as a common language and Filipino as a culture. Thus, this also means that being knowledgeable in Filipino also determines that you are a true Filipino, keeping the true essence of nationalism.

11. Faulty Stimulus Control and Reduced Treatment Integrity: An Analysis of Position Biases

When learning conditional discriminations, it is possible that faulty sources of control develop and interfere with acquisition. In 2021, Bergmann et al. reported the effects of different integrity levels (i.e., to what degree an intervention is implemented correctly) on undergraduate students' mastery of an arbitrary matching to sample task. They found that participants in the reduced integrity conditions at or below 80% were more likely to show stimulus biases (i.e., selecting a particular incorrect stimulus in the presence of a sample stimulus) than participants in integrity conditions at or above 85%. Bergmann et al. did not investigate whether participants were likely to show responding that was biased by position. A position bias is a type of faulty stimulus control that involves allocating more responses to one or a few positions (e.g., first, second, middle, left). We conducted a secondary analysis of data from Bergmann et al., and we used a chi-square goodness of fit test to identify which participants showed a position bias. We found 25 participants out of 168 with potential position biases. We used a chi-square test of independence to analyze the distribution of participants with biased responding by condition and did not find a statistically significant difference. We discussed potential explanations for these findings and describe connections to behavior-analytic practice.

[ES] El presente proyecto desarrolla el diseño de un sistema que, mediante monitorización de las principales magnitudes eléctricas de un aerogenerador, es capaz de detectar y prevenir averías del mismo. El sistema está proyectado para su uso en aerogeneradores de pequeña potencia, del orden de 3kW, por lo que resulta crucial su diferenciación con respecto a otras soluciones existentes en la industria en el aspecto económico. El objetivo es conseguir un equipo de coste muy contenido que justifique su incorporación en sistemas de generación eólica con coste de instalación relativamente bajo, de forma que la mejora de productividad asociada a un diagnóstico sencillo, pero fiable, permita justificar su implantación. El alcance de este trabajo incluye un completo conjunto de aspectos todos ellos coordinados, de los que destacan los más importantes: el diseño de los sensores eléctricos, el diseño del sistema de muestreo y captura de las señales proporcionadas por los sensores, todos los algoritmos de cálculo de las diferentes variables de interés desde el punto de vista eléctrico, el diseño del sistema de registro de comportamiento sano del aerogenerador (que se ejecutará en la primera puesta en marcha) y, por último, el sistema de detección de fallos por comparación de los valores continuamente monitorizados con el mapa de funcionamiento sano. La energía eólica produjo durante el año 2018 el 19,2 % de toda la energía generada en España, hasta un total de 47 TWh. The objective is to achieve a very low equipment that justifies its incorporation into wind power generation systems with relatively low installation costs, so that the productivity improvement associated with a simple but reliable diagnosis, allows its implementation to be justified. The scope of this work includes a complete set of aspects, all of them coordinated, of which the most important stand out: the design of the electrical sensors, the design of the sampling system and capture of the signals provided by the sensors, all the algorithms of calculation of the different variables of interest from the electrical point of view, the design of the wind turbine's healthy behavior recording system (which will be executed on the first start-up) and, finally, the system for detecting failures by comparing the values continuously monitored with the healthy functioning map. Wind energy produced 19.2% of all the energy generated in Spain in 2018, up to a total of 47 TWh. It has now become a fully mature renewable technology, both technically and economically, a fact that increases the interest of this project.

Diagnosing the quality of components in fault-tolerant computer systems often requires numerous tests with limited resources. It is usually the case that repeated tests on a selected, limited number of components are performed and the results are taken into account so as to infer a diagnostic property of the computer system as a whole. In this paper we abstract fault-tolerant testing as the following problem concerning the color of the majority in a set of colored balls. Given a set of balls each colored with one of two colors, the majority problem is to determine whether or not there is a majority in one of the two colors. In case there is such a majority, the aim is to output a ball of the majority color, otherwise to declare that there is no majority. We propose algorithms for solving the majority problem by repeatedly testing only k-tuple queries. Namely, successive answers of an oracle (which accepts as input only k-tuples) to a sequence of k-tuple queries are assembled so as to determine whether or not the majority problem has a solution. An issue is to design an algorithm which minimizes the number of k-tuple queries needed in order to solve the majority problem on any possible input of n balls. In this paper we consider three querying models: Output, Counting, and General, reflecting the amount and type of information provided by the oracle on each test for a k-tuple. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anglès: This thesis faces the study of the Saint Barbara Church, which is located in Kutná Hora. In the first part of the work, a research on the historical background was carried out including the development of the city and the construction steps of the church. To understand the current state of the church it was vital to revise the historical intervention as well as the current ones. The second part of the thesis focused on the structural behavior of the church. Basically, the aim of the study was to analyze the buttresses since the stability of Saint Barbara strongly depends on them. Due to the location of the church and its damage pattern, special attention was paid to the temperature effect in the structure, particularly in the flying arches. To study the buttresses two non linear models were prepared using finite elements. The first model consisted on the buttress in its original shape and the second one considered the strengthened system. In order to define the materials in the numerical model, compression and tensile test were carried out on the laboratory. The models were run under four different load combinations, each of them include selfweight and one temperature load case. In that way it was possible to evaluate the behavior of the structure under possible extreme temperature situations and to compare between the responses of the two models. Supported on the results of the models and the visual survey, it was concluded that at the present the structure has a good static situation. It is remarkable that the current restoration follow the modern conservation criteria, being completely respectful of the structure. Some possible further interventions aiming to maintain the achieved state of conservation are also suggested., Castellà: Esta tesis afronta al estudio de la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara que esta localizada en Kutná Hora. En la primera parte de este trabajo, se realizó una investigación sobre los antecedentes históricos incluyendo el desarrollo de la ciudad y las etapas constructivas de la iglesia. Para poder entender el estado actual de la iglesia fue necesario revisar tanto las intervenciones históricas como las actuales. La segunda parte de esta tesis se focaliza en el comportamiento estructural de la iglesia. Básicamente, el objetivo del estudio fue analizar los contrafuertes ya que la estabilidad de Santa Bárbara depende fuertemente de ellos. Debido a la ubicación de la iglesia y a su patrón de daños, se debió prestar especial atención al efecto de la temperatura en la estructura, particularmente en los arbotantes. Para estudiar los contrafuertes se prepararon dos modelos no lineares usando elementos finitos. El primer modelo consiste en los contrafuertes en su forma original y el segundo considera el sistema reforzado. Con el fin de definir los materiales en el modelo numérico se realizaron pruebas de compresión y tracción en el laboratorio. Los modelos fueron ejecutados bajo cuatro combinaciones de cargas diferentes, cada una de ellas incluye peso propio y un estado de carga de temperatura. De este modo fue posible evaluar el comportamiento de la estructura bajo situaciones de temperaturas extremas y a su vez comparar las respuestas de los modelos. Basándose en los resultados de los modelos y la inspección visual se pudo concluir que la estructura presenta actualmente una buena situación estática. Es destacable que la restauración actual sigue los criterios de conservación vigentes siendo totalmente respetuosa de la estructura. Se sugieren algunas intervenciones complementarias con el objetivo de mantener el estado de conservación alcanzado.

Basically, the aim of the study was to analyze the buttresses since the stability of Saint Barbara strongly depends on them. Due to the location of the church and its damage pattern, special attention was paid to the temperature effect in the structure, particularly in the flying arches. To study the buttresses two non linear models were prepared using finite elements. The first model consisted on the buttress in its original shape and the second one considered the strengthened system. In order to define the materials in the numerical model, compression and tensile test were carried out on the laboratory. The models were run under four different load combinations, each of them include selfweight and one temperature load case. In that way it was possible to evaluate the behavior of the structure under possible extreme temperature situations and to compare between the responses of the two models. Supported on the results of the models and the visual survey, it was concluded that at the present the structure has a good static situation. It is remarkable that the current restoration follow the modern conservation criteria, being completely respectful of the structure. Some possible further interventions aiming to maintain the achieved state of conservation are also suggested. Castellà: Esta tesis afronta al estudio de la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara que esta localizada en Kutná Hora. En la primera parte de este trabajo, se realizó una investigación sobre los antecedentes históricos incluyendo el desarrollo de la ciudad y las etapas constructivas de la iglesia. Para poder entender el estado actual de la iglesia fue necesario revisar tanto las intervenciones históricas como las actuales. La segunda parte de esta tesis se focaliza en el comportamiento estructural de la iglesia. Básicamente, el objetivo del estudio fue analizar los contrafuertes ya que la estabilidad de Santa Bárbara depende fuertemente de ellos. Debido a la ubicación de la iglesia y a su patrón de daños, se debió prestar especial atención al efecto de la temperatura en la estructura, particularmente en los arbotantes. Para estudiar los contrafuertes se prepararon dos modelos no lineares usando elementos finitos. El primer modelo consiste en los contrafuertes en su forma original y el segundo considera el sistema reforzado. Con el fin de definir los materiales en el modelo numérico se realizaron pruebas de compresión y tracción en el laboratorio. Los modelos fueron ejecutados bajo cuatro combinaciones de cargas diferentes, cada una de ellas incluye peso propio y un estado de carga de temperatura. De este modo fue posible evaluar el comportamiento de la estructura bajo situaciones de temperaturas extremas y a su vez comparar las respuestas de los modelos. Basándose en los resultados de los modelos y la inspección visual se pudo concluir que la estructura presenta actualmente una buena situación estática. Es destacable que la restauración actual sigue los criterios de conservación vigentes siendo totalmente respetuosa de la estructura. Se sugieren algunas intervenciones complementarias con el objetivo de mantener el estado de conservación alcanzado.
