Background: Intestinal nematode parasites of equines have emerged as a pressing and urgent challenge due to their significant impact on the health and performance of these animals worldwide; therefore, implementing a deworming regimen has become vital to keeping a horse's parasite load at an acceptable level. Thus, the current study aimed to estimate the prevalence of nematodes infection , associated risk factors and evaluate the chemotherapeutic efficacy of different anthelmintic drugs by enrolling 195 fecal matter samples of working equines using flotation concentration techniques. Equines treatment were divided into four groups; Group 1 standard treatment (Albendazole orally), Group 2 intervention treatment (Doramectin injection), Group 3 intervention treatment (combination of Albendazole and Doramectin), and Group 4 was left untreated as a positive control. Results: The overall prevalence of intestinal nematode parasites in working equines was 70.25%. The recovered nematodes were Strongylus species, with 87.17% followed by Parascaris equorum 30.76%, and Oxyuris equi was 12.82%. Concerning treatment efficacy, the highest cure rate was among Group 3 (77.14%), followed by Group 2 (68.57%) and Group 1 (40%), but the difference between Groups 2 and 3 is statistically insignificant. Interestingly, the effect of Doramectin injection is highly significant than other, especially for the reduction of Strongylus spp. and Parascaris equorum eggs according to Cohen's D test. Conclusions: Translating such a potent combination of drugs into endemic areas will provide significant support for deworming and control programs against intestinal parasites of equines, especially those in the migratory phase, more than Albendazole alone, which has poor absorption as it requires a full stomach during administration.

To review and represent three different mandibular reconstruction modalities following surgical treatment of massive mandibular fibrous Dysplasia (MMFD). The present retrospective case series study was conducted on 24 patients who had MMFD and treated via resection and immediate reconstruction at Al-Azhar University Hospitals, Egypt. Patients were divided into three groups according to the grafting procedure. Group I patients were grafted with iliac bone graft (IBG), group II patients were grafted with IBG and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), while group III patients were grafted with free vascularized fibula graft (FVFG). Postoperative clinical and radiographic assessments were performed immediately, at 6 months, 12 months and 2 years to evaluate lesion recurrence and bone graft resorption. Other study variables included assessment of postoperative wound dehiscence, infection rate, amount of edema, and facial bone contour. The parameters of the clinical analysis showed non-statistically significant differences among all groups. Postoperative wound healing was clinically uneventful in all groups, except for two cases of wound dehiscence in group I (8.3%) and one case in group III (4.2%). Most patients had appropriate postoperative facial contour, and adequate facial symmetry. The radiographic measurements revealed a highly statistically significant difference between group I and II at 12 months, and two years, without any statistically significant difference between group II and III. MMFD surgical defect should be repaired for function and cosmetics aims especially in young adult patients. The findings of the present study have shown that when compared to traditional IBG alone or FVFG, the use of autogenous IBG with BMAC injection produces a favorable outcome with few difficulties.

Purpose: The present study was carried out to evaluate and compare the clinical effect in a short term of three conservative treatment methods for myofascial pain disorder syndrome (MPD): pharmacotherapy, inter occlusal splint and low level laser therapy (LLLT). Subjects and Methods: The present study was applied on thirty (n=30) females patients which suffered from myofascial pain disorder syndrome (MPD).They were selected for this study with age ranged from 17-45 years. Patients were divided equally and randomly into three groups; Group I : were treated by LLLT, Group II were treated by oral appliance therapy and Group III were treated by pharmacotherapy. The outcome variables were pain score and the maximum interincisal opening (MIO). Pain score was assessed by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS); both variables were assessed preoperatively, postoperatively at the first month weekly, three months, and six months. Results: VAS scores decreased and MIO increased gradually throughout the follow up durations at first, third, and six months after treatment in all groups (P < 0.05). Although there was a difference between groups I, II and III, however, the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusions: low level laser therapy can be considered as a suitable and non-invasive treatment alternative for MPD. Also it was effective, had showing promising results and can be used as treatment of MP. LLLT shows its effects in a short term duration so it can be considered as a treatment of choice.

Purpose This study compared piezoelectric (PE) and conventional drills (CD) for maxillary aesthetic zone implant insertion. Material and methods This was a prospective split-mouth study. Implants were divided into two groups. Beds were prepared with CDs in group I and PE in group II. The implant stability quotient (ISQ) of the mechanical implant stability (MIS) was measured intraoperatively. The ISQ of the biological implant stability (BIS) was recorded at postoperative second and fourth months. Marginal bone loss (MBL) and bone density (BMD) were measured in the first and second years after prosthetic loading. The osteotomy time was also documented for both techniques. P values Results Sixty implants in 30 patients were included. PE provided a significantly higher ISQ. All values were above 70 throughout the follow-up period. The mean of the ISQ for MIS was 63.78 ± 1.03 and 73.89 ± 1.05 in group I and group II, respectively (p = 0.003). PE needed significantly longer osteotomy time with a mean of 11.99 ± 0.839 min. The BIS quality had high stability in group II and medium stability in group I throughout the study period. Its values decreased in both groups. Group II had a lesser percentage of decrease. However, it was significant only at time intervals between intraoperative and two months' postoperative (p = 0.004). MBL and BMD demonstrated insignificant results. Conclusion The implant site preparation with PE devices should be preferred to CDs whenever possible, because they seem to enhance implant stability and osseointegration, especially at the initial stages of healing.

Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate and compare the efficiency of piezoelectric device for implant site preparation clinically and radiographically. Materials and methods: The study included 12 patients divided into two groups. The group A received implants prepared with the conventional drills (CDs), while, group B, the piezoelectric devices (PEDs) were used. The stability of implant was measured, immediately, at 2 months, and 4 months after the implant insertion. Also, the drilling time was recorded. While, the Marginal bone loss (MBL) and Bone mineral density (BMD) were recorded immediately, at 3, and 6 months after implant insertion. Results: Group B had a significant higher ISQ values all over the follow up periods. The drilling time of ISP was significantly higher in group B. Regarding the MBL, there was no a statistical significant difference. The BMD increased significantly in group B immediately, and at 3 month. Conclusion: The osseointegration of implants prepared with PED was significantly greater than that of implants which prepared with the CDs all over the time points, but the PEDs need significantly longer surgical time than the CDs

In Egypt, there is a scarcity of recent data on trichinellosis in pigs and humans. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the epidemiological profile and risk factors associated withData were collected on 33812 pigs slaughtered during a year at the Al-Basateen abattoir, Cairo Governorate, Egypt. The slaughtered pigs had already been examined by trichinoscope in the abattoir. The diagnostic effectiveness technique was randomly conducted on 170 pork muscle samples, which were examined using the digestion technique. Furthermore, 90 serum samples from high-risk individuals in Qena and Sohag Governorates, Upper Egypt, were analyzed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The investigation revealed that the overall prevalence was 1.06% in pigs by trichinoscope. Of the examined 170 samples, 2.35% and 3.35% were found to harborOur findings are intended to serve as a starting point for developing effective preventive and control measures for trichinellosis (as application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) in pig farms, stop feeding pigs on garbage as well as, preventing illegal slaughter of pigs outside the slaughterhouses). It also fortifies the establishment of the digestion technique because of its high specificity and sensitivity, although it is difficult to apply to a large number of samples.

Purpose: A prospective consecutive case series study was performed during the period between December 2014 and July 2017, aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of injectable platelet rich fibrin (PRF) in the treatment of tempromandibular joint hypermobility. Patients and methods: Twelve patients suffering from TMJ hypermobility were treated by PRF intra articular injection twice with one month interval. Patients underwent clinical investigation with complete assessment of pain, frequency of dislocation, range of motion and TMJ sounds, this was preformed pretreatment then on first, third, sixth, and ninth months post treatment. Pre and post radiological CBCT was performed to assess the degree of capsular and ligamental laxity (DCLL), and the Condylar position (CP) at maximum range of motion. Results: The results of the study showed that PRF had a highly significant positive effect on the clinical signs and symptoms of TMJ hypermobility over the first 6 months postoperatively, but at 9 months, the results were not sustained on the same clinical improvement level. Conclusion: The injection of PRF is an effective, minimally invasive method that could be used for treatment of TMJ hypermobility by improving capsular and ligamental integrity. Additionally, it significantly improves all signs and symptoms up to 6 months since the TMJ injection, so it is recommended to repeat the procedure yearly.

Purpose this study was conducted between 2015 and 2017 at the faculty of Veterinary Medicine Cairo University and aimed to histologically compare between the effect of processed and unprocessed bone marrow aspirate on the quantity and quality of the newly formed bone. Material and methods 72 Adult male white New Zealand rabbits were used in this study and were divided equally into 2 groups A and B. Bone defects were created at the medial upper extremity of right and left tibia of all rabbits down to bone using trephine bur measuring 4 mm diameter to 5 mm depth. The bone defects were treated with whole bone marrow loaded on gel foam in group A right tibias and using mononuclear cell layer obtained through centrifuging bone marrow loaded on gel foam in group B right tibias. Bone defects in the left tibias in all rabbits treated with gel foam only. Scarification was done 3,6,12 weeks postoperative. Histological evaluation was done using H and E and Masson’s trichrome stain. Results the results showed that group A right tibial defects had better healing results than group B right tibial defects all over the follow-up period, but the differences were not statically significant. Conclusion the study findings indicate that the centrifugal concentration techniques provide better therapeutic outcomes over the whole BMA, but it is statistically insignificant.

In order to preserve the original ridge dimensions following tooth extraction and promote bone regeneration of the residual alveolar socket, various bone grafts and substitutes were used. Among these grafting materials, bovine bone xenograft was used in order to promote bone regeneration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectof bovine bone graft on the preservation of buccal plate of bone of extracted socket.Twelve patients with non-restorable maxillary tooth or remaining root were included in this study. They were divided equally into two groups. Group A: augmentation with bovine xenograft was performed after extraction. Group B: Extraction was performed without grafting. Delayed-immediate implants were placed for all patients at eight weeks after extraction. There was no significant difference in buccal cortical plate thickness between the two groups with. There was a significant increase in bone density of the study group at six months postoperatively. It was concluded that buccal plateaugmentation by the “pouch technique” is not enough to compensate the bone loss that occurs in the buccal wall after extraction.
