This research uses Autodesk Moldflow Insight (AMI) software to simulate the injection moulding process (IMP) parameters setting in order to reduce shrinkage. To examine the shrinkage value of the flat part, this study employed certain process factors, including packing pressure, cooling time, packing time, and melt temperature. Additionally, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is used in the flat part that has been chosen for study. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to analyse the combination of the process parameters, and response surface methodology is used to get the optimal value (RSM). The shrinkage value was reduced by using the RSM in the Design Expert software. The ideal combinations of packing pressure, cooling time, packing time and melt temperature for RSM are 60.62MPa, 9.208s, 15.4s, and 220℃, respectively. The effective processing parameter determined by RSM reduced shrinkage in melt flow direction and parallel melt flow direction from 0.68% and 0.60% in the simulation result to 0.60% and 0.53% after optimization, respectively. Wheelchairs have been used widely as the one of the vehicles that are designated purposely to help the disabled patient to easily move around. However, the standard wheelchairs currently available in the market are mostly fit to patients which have average size and can only accommodate the patient with maximum body mass up to 100kg. When a big size or extra-large (XL) patient with body mass more than 100 kg uses this standard wheelchair, they may feel discomfort, cramped as well as restricted movement. Furthermore, the structure of standard wheelchairs may not be safe enough to hold the load of big size patient weight. Therefore, this project is focused to study the appropriate an ergonomic body sizes and dimensions of big patients that body mass ranging from minimum 100kg to maximum 150kg. The investigation is focused on the customer needs as well as anthropometry body measurements. The data was collected from the questionnaires and direct interview among 30 personnel with the body mass in target range. This study reports the optimization of heating rate on the microwave sintered Fe-Cr-Al2O3 metal matrix composite (MMC). The heating rate was selected between 10°C/min to 60°C/min with increment of 10°C/min respectively. The samples were fabricated via PM route and microwave sintering was carried out in a tubular microwave furnace HAMiLab-V3 in N2 atmosphere purposely to avoid any oxidation and chemical reaction to samples. The microstructure of sintered samples was evaluated using SEM and bulk density and porosity were determined based on ASTM B962 – 17 and the microhardness were determined based on ASTM E384. The optimized heating rate of the sample was selected based on the micro hardness value and total porosity percentage as well as based on SEM microstructure analysis. The results revealed that the optimum heating rate occurred at 20°C/min due to the highest value of hardness achieved which is about 119.28 HV with at the highest bulk density about 6.07 g/cm3 and at the lowest total porosity about 14.55%. SEM micrographs also showed that the diffusion was mostly effective at 20°C/min heating rate compared to others, indicated that significant grain boundary diffusion of Fe matrix into Al2O3 particle was occurred. This paper aims to develop an improved general mathematical model by focusing on human factors variables that related to the product defect in the manufacturing production line. This is because many studies found that almost 40% of total defects resulted from the operator error and the defects are usually not obvious and neglected. The objective to have defect prediction mathematical model to satisfy as early quality indicator of the manufacturing flow production line and assist the quality control team in manufacturing industries. Thus, the human factor variables will be investigate thoroughly and final model can be used to predict product defect on the line to improve product quality. Product defects quantity are identified and analyzed to determine the potential predictors for developing the mathematical model. A case study is offered that illustrates in a spice packaging semi-automated production line the effect that complexity variables have on assembly quality. By using Minitab, Multiple Regression analysis is conducted to model the relationship between the input variables towards response variables. From the analysis, the predicted data showed reasonable correlation with the observed data improved with adjusted R-Sq from 2.6% to 7.9%. This study reports on the effect of Al2O3 particles on the density of Fe-Cr metal matrix composite (MMCs) produced through PM route then sintered under hybrid microwave energy. The sample was prepared by mixing the Al2O3 particle in 3D-tubular shaker at six different weight percentage of Fe-Cr matrix started from 5 wt.% to 30 wt.% with 5% in increment. The sintering process was performed under controlled N2 atmosphere in a tubular microwave furnace. Determination of bulk density and porosity was done according to Standard Test Method ASTM B962 – 17, while ASTM E384 was used to determine the microhardness. Assessment of the sample was based on density, porosity, hardness and microstructure evaluation. The result show that incorporating the Al2O3 particle were significantly increase the microhardness, decrease the bulk density and increase the porosity of the in Fe-Cr composite. This paper reports on case studies of safety incidents in chemical factories in Malaysia. The processes used for identifying and evaluating both existing and potential hazards in a palm-oil work site and the way of controlling it is hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control or known as HIRARC. Many that have already done risk assessments have recorded successful changes to their working procedures, and conditions of work in establishing and taking the appropriate effective actions. An ergonomic, physical and chemical hazards is a main factor in occurred in this study that could cause damage to humans, systems and environments. The assessment was done in estate area, involving the process of oil palm harvesting and collecting operation, oil palm manuring, and oil palm field upkeep and maintenance. The overall methodologies in this study consist of fishbone concept, HIRARC and PARETO analysis towards the working procedures at loading ramp station in palm factory. This paper reports a case study of accidents or incident analysis in the power press machine at a press machine area in a manufacturing company. Hazard identification, cause and effect, risk level and solutions was assessed. There are total of seven hazards identified in the power press machine. These seven hazards consist of six medium level of risk and one low level of risk respectively. These listed hazards in the workplace will directly affect the worker in the view of safety and health. However, there are some solutions regarding these hazards had been proposed. By carry out some discussion, certain solution is suggested to solve the hazard in the workplace. The suggested solution shown in the HIRARC analysis can be said as simple solution which the company can conduct it successfully. It can help to reduce or solve the hazards that will protect their workers well. This will also increase their worker's productivity and comfortability in work. Pareto analysis had shown clearly with the higher risk hazards consist in the workplace that can let the company to solve the hazards with priority according to the analysis shown. This paper reports on case studies of safety incidents in Malaysia. In line with the efforts to reduce accidents at construction sites in Malaysia, the objective of this study is to analyze on workplace hazard, risk and safety and proposes a recommended actions on the case analyzed. A total of five case studies were conducted, in which the cases are scope to be on construction sites in Malaysia. Five hazards are identified from the case studies, which are equipment or machine falls from height, defective sockets or electrical equipment, high unfenced and unguarded working area, sharp objects or cutting blades, and noise pollution. The effects of these hazard are studied and Fishbone diagram is used to identified the root causes that lead to the effect. HIRARC is then used for further study of the hazard identified into risk analysis and risk control. Through risk analysis in HIRARC, the risk scores of each hazard are calculated, and the risk scores are analysed into a Pareto Chart. The purpose of Pareto Chart is to study on the priority of hazards to be focus on. Control measures are suggested based on descending order of priority: defective sockets or electrical equipment, high unfenced and unguarded working area, equipment or machine falls from height, noise pollution, and lastly sharp objects or cutting blades. The production of activated carbon using heat from microwave processing for activation time was successfully conducted and its performance in treating textile dye effluent was observed through various factors such as phosphoric acid loading used, contact time, dosage of activated carbon and pH. Activated carbon with phosphoric acid loading of 60% shown highest BET surface area that was 213.52 m2/g however, it obtained least thermal stability. The result indicated that about 97.11% of dye from textile effluent can be removed in only 90 minutes of contact time at pH 3 with the use of 2.0 g of produced activated carbon. The production of activated carbon using microwave processing can be an alternative way for activation process using conventional furnace heating. The used of rubber wood sawdust as the raw material for activated carbon production can solve the waste issue from sawmill as an example. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
