Purpose: What is happening in the perceived world of young people who have non-suicidal self-injury? The answer to this question explains many quantitative research findings in the field of NSSI. The current qualitative research design is Husserl's descriptive phenomenology. Design/methodology/approach: The participants included 17-29-year-old youths with self-injury and were selected with a targeted sampling approach and a conspicuous sampling method based on the theoretical saturation criterion of 21 people. Data were collected in a semi-structured interview and analyzed in the MAXQDA2022 software using the Attride-Stirling (2001) method. Validation of data was done by the method of simultaneous review of colleagues and simultaneous review of participants. Findings: The themes emerging from the analysis of the findings are the three organizing themes of "vulnerable temperament" which includes height and head, high pain sensitivity threshold and desire for nothingness, "traumatic family" which includes disorganization, crisis and devaluation in the family and "developmental injuries" that are associated with physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. The content of these themes seriously harms a person's self-perception through the emotions of fear, shame, anger and despair and is integrated into the overarching theme of "damaged self". Originality/value: "Damaged Self" provides causal explanations related to the formation of self-injurious behaviors and these behaviors are in harmony with the damage that a person observes in his perception of himself.

Purpose: Traditionally, bilateral urolithiasis treatment involved staged interventions due to safety concerns. Recent studies have shown that same-sitting bilateral retrograde intrarenal surgery (SSB-RIRS) is effective, with acceptable complication rates. However, there’s no clear data on the optimum laser for the procedure. This study aimed to assess outcomes of SSB-RIRS comparing thulium fiber laser (TFL) and high-power holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser in a multicenter real-world practice. Materials and Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on patients undergoing SSB-RIRS from January 2015 to June 2022 across 21 centers worldwide. Three months perioperative and postoperative outcomes were recorded, focusing on complications and stone-free rates (SFR). Results: A total of 733 patients were included, with 415 in group 1 (Ho:YAG) and 318 in group 2 (TFL). Both groups have similar demographic and stone characteristics. The peaceful transformation of the Republic of the United States of Indonesia (RIS) into the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) stands as a pivotal moment in the nation's history. This momentous event was orchestrated by a prominent Islamic figure, Mohammad Natsir, who spearheaded the Integral Motion. Through this motion, Natsir skillfully lobbied RIS and states leaders to reunite under NKRI. Employing historical analysis, this research delves into the political and diplomatic strategies implemented by Natsir. Additionally, the research explores the motivations and moral commitments that underpinned Natsir's actions. A qualitative approach grounded in social-scientific history is utilized in this study. The research integrates historical analysis with socio-political science theories, particularly structuralism. This approach facilitates a deeper understanding of the internal and external challenges faced by Indonesia during that era. The findings of the research underscore Natsir's dual role. He not only served as a political leader but also as an architect of the integrative movement. In this capacity, Natsir effectively addressed both internal and external conflicts that arose during the reunification process. Natsir's unwavering efforts ultimately paved the way for Indonesia's transition towards political stability and national unity in the aftermath of independence.

Intrusion Detection System and SMS controller with Snort using SMS Gateway on public networks. The need for an attack detection system that can assist administrators in monitoring the network, so that administrators can cope with threats quickly and the network can operate optimally again, the purpose of this study is to facilitate network administrators in preventing and detecting attacks. this has been tested against ping of death attacks, sql injection, sysflooding attacks and port scanning. From the results of testing the system that has been tested, the system has been able to detect and prevent it quickly via SMS controller integrated with gammu as an sms gateway, as for information sent to the network administrator in the form of attack alerts in real time via SMS, the result of attack detection in the form of 4 (four) types of information, namely attack time, attack type, destination IP, and source IP. Blocking attacks is done by sending blocking commands via an sms controller that is integrated with php scripts, bash scripting and iptables, blocking attacks successfully executed after the gammu server receives an SMS reply from the network administrator in an average period of 40 seconds.

Abstract Background The prevalence of medication nonadherence among Malaysian older adults is approximately 60%. However, there is a lack of studies assessing the factors associated with medication nonadherence among this population. This research aims to explore the association between medication regimen complexity (MRC), treatment satisfaction and medication adherence among Malaysian older adults. Method A cross-sectional study was conducted in outpatient clinics of a teaching hospital in Pahang, Malaysia, between April 2023 and September 2023. MRC Index (MRCI), Treatment Satisfaction for Medication version II (TSQM v.II), and the Malaysian Medication Adherence Assessment Tool (MyMAAT) were used. Multivariate linear and logistic regression models were performed to test the factors affecting treatment satisfaction and medication adherence. Mediator analysis was implemented to assess the mediating role of treatment satisfaction. Result The study involved 429 Malaysian older adult patients, with a prevalence of nonadherence of 51.0% (n = 219) and an MRCI mean score of 17.37 (SD = 7.07). The mean overall treatment satisfaction score was 73.91 (SD = 15.23). Multivariate logistic regression analysis expressed four significant predictors associated with nonadherence: MRC (AOR = 1.179, p = 0.002), overall treatment satisfaction (AOR = 0.847, p

Introduction: Infection prevention and control (IPC) is a crucial component of the healthcare system that demands adherence to standards to avoid and reduce the risk of infectious diseases spreading among patients, staff members, and visitors to healthcare institutions. The aim of this study was to assess IPC knowledge among undergraduate health sciences students and to identify the critical IPC components that need to be addressed. Methods: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted among 235 final-year health science students at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), involving five faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Health Science. A 45-item questionnaire was used to collect participants’ sociodemographics (5 items) and explore their knowledge about IPC across six aspects (40 items). A score of > 24 (62%) indicates satisfactory knowledge. Results: The majority of the participants were female (74.9%), and 34% were from the Faculty of Pharmacy. Medicine students had the highest level of IPC knowledge with a mean score of 29.3 (n = 52), which was significantly different from Allied Health Science students (M = 25.6, n =55, p < 0.001). Other faculties students had similar IPC knowledge with no significant differences (Pharmacy: M = 27.5, n = 80; Nursing: M = 27.4, n = 29; Dentistry: M = 27.2, n = 19). IPC components that need to be improved are knowledge about sharp disposals and sharp injuries, as well as respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette. Conclusion: IPC knowledge was adequate among health science students at IIUM, although certain IPC components still require improvement. Additional IPC educational materials and workshops should be added to all faculties' syllabi to address this issue.

Abstract Background Effective communication is the key to a successful relationship between doctors and their patients. Empathy facilitates effective communication, but physicians vary in their ability to empathize with patients. Listening styles are a potential source of this difference. We aimed to assess empathy and listening styles among medical students and whether students with certain listening styles are more empathetic. Methods In this cross-sectional study, 97 medical students completed the Jefferson scale of Empathy (JSE) and the revised version of the Listening Styles Profile (LSP-R). The relationship between empathy and listening styles was assessed by comparing JSE scores across different listening styles using ANOVA in SPSS software. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results Overall, the students showed a mean empathy score of 103 ± 14 on JSE. Empathy scores were lower among clinical students compared to preclinical students. Most of the medical students preferred the analytical listening style. The proportion of students who preferred the relational listening style was lower among clinical students compared to preclinical students. There was no significant relationship between any of the listening styles with empathy. Conclusion Our results do not support an association between any particular listening style with medical students’ empathic ability. We propose that students who have better empathetic skills might shift between listening styles flexibly rather than sticking to a specific listening style.

Suicide notes are messages left by individuals who commit suicide or who intend to commit suicide. These written messages express the victims' feelings that were not expressed when they were alive. And thus, this qualitative study intends to investigate the characteristics of linguistic features of suicide notes written by eleven male well-known individuals. The approach to this study is qualitative content analysis. Data were obtained from suicide notes written by eleven male well-known individuals. These notes were retrievable online. The researchers read, classified, and described the data based on the five characteristics of linguistic features of suicide notes, they are clear reasoning, expressing emotion, structure text, grammar, punctuation. The results showed that all of the characteristics of linguistic features were found in the well-known individuals' suicide notes. The characteristics of clear reasoning took place as the most frequent one to occur since it tells the readers of the victims' point of view about the problems that they were facing that led them to suicide. While the absence of doubt and form of address took place as rare. In the end, the result of this research can provide more information in research regarding the study of suicide notes in forensic linguistics, an application of linguistic on analyzing data or legal issues.

BackgroundThis study unveils the intricate functional association between cyclic di-3’,5’-adenylic acid (c-di-AMP) signaling, cellular bioenergetics, and the regulation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) profile in Porphyromonas gingivalis, a Gram-negative obligate anaerobe considered as a keystone pathogen involved in the pathogenesis of chronic periodontitis. Previous research has identified variations in P. gingivalis LPS profile as a major virulence factor, yet the underlying mechanism of its modulation has remained elusive.MethodsWe employed a comprehensive methodological approach, combining two mutants exhibiting varying levels of c-di-AMP compared to the wild type, alongside an optimized analytical methodology that combines conventional mass spectrometry techniques with a novel approach known as FLATn.ResultsWe demonstrate that c-di-AMP acts as a metabolic nexus, connecting bioenergetic status to nuanced shifts in fatty acid and glycosyl profiles within P. gingivalis LPS. Notably, the predicted regulator gene cdaR, serving as a potent regulator of c-di-AMP synthesis, was found essential for producing N-acetylgalactosamine and an unidentified glycolipid class associated with the LPS profile.ConclusionThe multifaceted roles of c-di-AMP in bacterial physiology are underscored, emphasizing its significance in orchestrating adaptive responses to stimuli. Furthermore, our findings illuminate the significance of LPS variations and c-di-AMP signaling in determining the biological activities and immunostimulatory potential of P. gingivalis LPS, promoting a pathoadaptive strategy. The study expands the understanding of c-di-AMP pathways in Gram-negative species, laying a foundation for future investigations into the mechanisms governing variations in LPS structure at the molecular level and their implications for host-pathogen interactions.

IntroductionBurnout, resilience, and thriving significantly impact academics, particularly in health professions, where responsibilities are extensive. This study aimed to explore these constructs among academic health professionals, examining sociodemographic and work-related factors influencing these outcomes.MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted among academic health professionals via web-based professional networks from August 2022 to February 2023. Validated tools were used, and descriptive and inferential statistics were applied.Results505 participants were included, predominantly female (63%), with a mean age of 38.15 ± 9.6 years. High burnout was reported by 10.9%, 13.7% experienced exhaustion, and 6.3% were disengaged. Resilience and thriving were moderate at 59.2 and 51.9%, respectively. Age correlated negatively with burnout (r = −0.131, p = 0.003) but positively with resilience (r = 0.178, p

This research aims to determine the influence of the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model on the mathematical reasoning and problem solving abilities of Mts Ja-Alhaq students in Bengkulu City. This research uses the Quasi Experiment method. Data collection was carried out through tests. Data analysis used the Ancova test. The sample for this research was MTs Ja-alHaq students in Bengkulu City. The results of the research show that: (1) There is a linear influence of covariates on students' mathematical problem reasoning abilities in learning the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) with an influence of 50,7%. (2) There is a linear influence of covariates on students' mathematical problem solving in Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning with a large influence of 14.6%. (3) There is an influence of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning on students' mathematical problem reasoning abilities with an influence of 78 %. (4) There is an influence of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning on students' mathematical problem solving abilities with an influence of 55,5%. (5) Students' achievement of mathematical problem reasoning abilities in Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning is better than those taught through conventional learning. Abstract Background Infection prevention measures are the gold standard for preventing the spread of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). COVID-19 pandemic caused major disruptions in infection prevention measures, and this has implications on the rate of HAIs. This study assessed the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the rate and the types of HAIs at Sultan Ahmed Shah Hospital. Method This is a retrospective cohort study that compared the rate of HAIs from April to October 2019 (pre COVID period) and April to October 2020 (during COVID period). Data was collected through the review of patients’ electronic medical records. Results There were a total of 578 patients included in the selected wards during the pre- and during the pandemic. Thirty-nine episodes (12.1%) of HAIs were report in the pre COVID period and 29 (11.3%) during COVID-19. In both periods, hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) was the most frequent HAI among the patients. There was a rise in catheter-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) (0.8%) and ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) (1.1%) during the COVID-19 period. The most common bacteria were methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) (28.2%) and Enterococcus faecalis (17.9%) in the Pre COVID-19 period, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (27.6%) and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (6.9%) during COVID-19. Conclusion Our research concluded that the rates of HAIs during the COVID-19 pandemic were not significantly impacted by the improved in-hospital infection prevention efforts to control the pandemic. There is need for further efforts to promote adherence to preventive practices.

Participatory conservation is an activity to mitigate and adapt to forest and land fires through field farmer school (FFS) activity which forest farmer groups (FFG), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and academics attend. This research aims to provide an innovative approach to conservation activities with the community, especially on Mount Arjuno, which often experiences forest fires. The results show that local stakeholders and authorities must support community participation in forest conservation. This study shows that FFS (Field Farmer School) activities can facilitate the community in identifying problems and generating ideas for conservation activities through the agroforestry system, mitigation and adaptation of forest and land fires, and edu-ecotourism. Conservation designs and community participation strategic plans are outputs of forest fire mitigation and adaptation activities. The FFS as the methodology used is adequate for knowing what the farmer needs relating to conservation that stakeholders will program. Moreover, generating the conservation activity must be combined with activities to increase the FFG income. So, the FFG will have good welfare.

Abstract A validated open-source deep-learning algorithm called Sybil can accurately predict long-term lung cancer risk from a single low-dose chest computed tomography (LDCT). However, Sybil was trained on a majority-male cohort. Use of artificial intelligence algorithms trained on imbalanced cohorts may lead to inequitable outcomes in real-world settings. We aimed to study whether Sybil predicts lung cancer risk equally regardless of sex. We analyzed 10,573 LDCTs from 6127 consecutive lung cancer screening participants across a health system between 2015 and 2021. Sybil achieved AUCs of 0.89 (95% CI: 0.85–0.93) for females and 0.89 (95% CI: 0.85–0.94) for males at 1 year, p = 0.92. At 6 years, the AUC was 0.87 (95% CI: 0.83–0.93) for females and 0.79 (95% CI: 0.72–0.86) for males, p = 0.01. In conclusion, Sybil can accurately predict future lung cancer risk in females and males in a real-world setting and performs better in females than in males for predicting 6-year lung cancer risk.

In recent years, much of the emphasis for transformation of introductory STEM courses has focused on "active learning", and while this approach has been shown to produce more equitable outcomes for students, the construct of "active learning" is somewhat ill-defined and is often used as a "catch-all" that can encompass a wide range of pedagogical techniques. Here we present an alternative approach for how to think about the transformation of STEM courses that focuses instead on what students should know and what they can do with that knowledge. This approach, known as three-dimensional learning (3DL), emerged from the National Academy's "A Framework for K-12 Science Education", which describes a vision for science education that centers the role of constructing productive causal accounts for phenomena. Over the past 10 years, we have collected data from introductory biology, chemistry, and physics courses to assess the impact of such a transformation on higher education courses. Here we report on an analysis of video data of class sessions that allows us to characterize these sessions as active, 3D, neither, or both 3D and active. We find that 3D classes are likely to also involve student engagement (i.e. be active), but the reverse is not necessarily true. That is, focusing on transformations involving 3DL also tends to increase student engagement, whereas focusing solely on student engagement might result in courses where students are engaged in activities that do not involve meaningful engagement with core ideas of the discipline.

Introduction: Bromine has been newly discovered in human milk but its importance in the growth and development of infants is unclear. Only a few studies have reported the concentration of bromine in human milk and considered it as an essential element, whereas others highlighted its toxicity of bromism in humans. This study aimed to determine the concentration of bromine as an essential trace element in human milk using a validated acid digestion method and discuss its variation over lactation stages. Method: Human milk samples were collected from three postpartum mothers and analysed using inductively coupled plasma mass-spectrometry (ICP-MS). The concentration of bromine was determined over a certain postpartum period, analysed using Microsoft Excel 2016, and reported descriptively. Results: Method validation parameters for bromine showed good linearity (R² > 0.999), limit of detection (0.003 µg/L), limit of quantification (0.01 µg/L), accuracy (96%), inter-day (3.76%RSD) and intra-day (3.35%RSD) repeatability. The median concentration of bromine in human milk decreased over six months of lactation, in µg/L: 1210, 674, 722, 671, 511 and 538. At later lactation months which were 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 21st, the median bromine concentration was in µg/L: 780, 815, 645, 846, 910, respectively. Conclusion: The acid digestion method by ICP-MS was robust and accurate in determining bromine concentration in human milk. The consistent variation of bromine in human milk over lactation stages may indicate its importance in supporting infant development in the first two years of age. Future research should explore the role of bromine in infants’ development, its chronobiological importance, and the risk of deficiency or toxicity.

The problem of elderly hypertension is very complex, especially the problem of a low-salt diet. Non-compliance with hypertension will have a negative impact on the elderly and will cause many complications. This research is a descriptive study that aims to see the adherence to a low-salt diet in hypertensive elderly people. The population in this study were hypertensive elderly at the Srikandi elderly Posyandu and Brontoseno Elderly Posyandu in the Working Area of the Sananwetan Health Center, Gedog Village, Sananwetan District, Blitar City as many as 60 people. The sample in this study is based on the formula for calculating the number of samples, namely as many as 50 people. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The tools in this study were a respondent characteristics questionnaire and a low-salt diet adherence questionnaire that the researchers made themselves based on references. This research was conducted from April to May 2023. General data in this study included gender, marital status, last education, length of time suffering from hypertension and routine internal pressure control. While the specific data in this study is the adherence diet of hypertensive elderly. The results of this study indicate that almost half of the respondents are less compliant with the low-salt diet, namely 46% (23 respondents) and a small proportion of the respondents are compliant with the low-salt diet, 14% (7 respondents). Based on the results of this study, more in-depth interventions are still needed, especially to increase adherence to a low-salt diet in elderly hypertension

Introduction: Circumcision is a minor surgical operation that cuts the foreskin at the tip of the penis. Pain and anxiety are problems that all children who undergo surgery experience. This study aimed to review virtual reality game interventions to reduce pain and anxiety from pre, intra, and post-circumcision in children. Methods: Literature study using four databases (Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar) using quantitative research with RCT and quasi-experimental designs, using virtual reality, audio-visual and game interventions which were limited from 2018 to 2022 according to combination of keywords and using English. The framework investigation using PICOT, guidance protocol with PRISMA, and accessing the eligibility of articles systematically by checking for duplicates, titles, and abstracts and determining the eligibility of the full text according to the study of the goals. Results: Thirteen articles met the inclusion criteria. Of the thirteen articles, 1074 children were circumcised. Circumcision causes pain and anxiety in children, so non-pharmacological interventions are needed to overcome it. Virtual reality games are a distraction technique to reduce circumcision pain by diverting the child’s attention and reducing anxiety by providing interventions that children like using audio-visual media and games, with virtual reality or not. Conclusions: Virtual reality games intervention is a distraction technique to reduce pain and anxiety in circumcised children. The combination of interventions using traditional games or the latest technology must be considered to improve service quality. Abstract The National Research Council’s Framework for K-12 Science Education and the subsequent Next Generation Science Standards have provided a widespread common language for science education reform over the last decade. These efforts have naturally been targeted at the K-12 levels, but we have argued that the three dimensions outlined in these documents—scientific practices, disciplinary core ideas, and crosscutting concepts (together termed three-dimensional learning)—are also a productive route for reform in college-level science courses. However, how and why college-level faculty might be motivated to incorporate three-dimensional learning into their courses is not well understood. Here, we report a mixed-methods study of participants in an interdisciplinary professional development program designed to support faculty in developing assessments and instruction aligned with three-dimensional learning. One cohort of faculty (N = 8) was interviewed, and four cohorts of faculty (N = 33) were surveyed. Using expectancy-value theory as an organizational framework, we identified themes of perceived values and costs that participants discussed in implementing three-dimensional learning. Based on a cluster analysis of all survey participants’ motivational profiles, we propose that these themes apply to the broader population of participants in this program. We recommend specific interventions to improve faculty motivation for implementing three-dimensional learning: emphasizing the utility value of three-dimensional learning in effecting positive learning gains for students; drawing connections between the dimensions of three-dimensional learning and faculty’s disciplinary identities; highlighting scientific practices as a key leverage point for faculty ability beliefs; minimizing cognitive dissonance for faculty in understanding the similarities and differences between the three dimensions; focusing on assessment writing as a keystone professional development activity; and aligning local evaluation practices and promotion policies with the 3DL framework.

Asam fenofibrat adalah antihiperlipidemia yang termasuk dalam kelas II Sistem Klasifikasi Biofarmasetik dengan kelarutan yang rendah dan permeabilitas dalam gastrointestinal yang tinggi. Disolusi asam fenofibrat berjalan lambat dan membatasi absorpsinya sehingga bioavailabilitasnya sulit diprediksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan formulasi tablet asam fenofibrat untuk meningkatkan disolusinya dengan sistem likuisolid. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan mendispersikan asam fenofibrat dalam pelarut propilenglikol kemudian diadsorpsi menggunakan beberapa adsorben seperti Avicel PH 101, Avicel PH 102, Neusilin dan Starch 1500 sehingga terbentuk serbuk. Sistem likuisolid yang terbentuk dikompresi menjadi tablet dan dievaluasi karakteristiknya termasuk analisis dengan FTIR dan XRD untuk mengetahui adanya interaksi antar partikel dalam sistem likuisolid. Hasil pengembangan formula menunjukkan bahwa tablet likuisolid asam fenofibrat dengan berbagai adsorben yang digunakan memenuhi kriteria tablet yang tercantum dalam kompendia. Disolusi asam fenofibrat dari tablet likuisolid meningkat dibandingkan tablet konvensional yang dibuat tanpa pembentukan sistem likuisolid. Karakterisasi dengan XRD dan FTIR menunjukkan tidak terjadi perubahan kimia asam fenofibrat pada sistem likuisolid yang terbentuk.

Root system mechanical reinforcement through root-soil cohesion on slope stability is important. However, the root cohesion of Tectona grandis, Maesopsis eminii, and shrubs (Chromolaena odorata) on slope stability is rarely studied and modelled. This study aimed to model the mechanical effect of vegetation through root cohesion, namely teak (Tectona grandis), Maesopsis eminii, and shrubs (Chromolaena odorata). The study was conducted in a simultaneous landslide on January 1, 2020, that dominantly occurred on vegetated slopes of Sukajaya District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The Wu model's root cohesion (CR) was modelled on slope stability using a modified Bishop model. The modelling used the data from field and laboratory-measured. The study found that the presence of a root system increases slope stability's factor of safety (FOS). The root system of young Maesopsiss eminii produces the largest effect of FOS compared to the root system of shrubs, teak, and old Maesopsis eminii. The slope stability of vegetated slopes is a function of the CR and the effective root zone depth. The highest total CR of vegetation was teak with 0.398 kPa, followed by shrubs, young Maesopsis eminii, and old Maesopsis eminii with 0.202 kPa, 0.191 kPa, and 0.087 kPa, respectively. The effective root zone of teak, young Maesopsis eminii, and shrub were 500, 230, 140, and 66 cm, respectively.

This library research uses qualitative method and historical approach, and focuses on examining the distinctive characteristics of each school of Islamic philosophical thought by emphasizing its epistemological aspects. This article shows that philosophy in Islamic world is very dynamic and not in a single character. In each period, the Islamic philosophy reveals a variety of patterns. To facilitate the discussion, this article is elaborated on a series of times and examines the distinctive patterns of epistemology that developed in each epoch. Although ontologically they are similar, there are epistemic differences in the philosophy developed by Muslim philosophers: Peripateticism, which dominated during the classical Islamic period (850-1250); 'Irfânâyah and two schools of wisdom (al-h}ikmah al-ishraqîyah/illumination theosophy and al-h}ikmah al-muta'âlîyah/transcendent theosophy), which dominated in the medieval Islamic period (1250-1850); and the school of al-h}ikmat al-ladunîyah/perennialist theosophy and al-'aqalîyah in the contemporary Islamic period (1850-present). This diversity emerged as a response to different challenges and adaptations to local situations.

Abstract Only praziquantel is available for treating schistosomiasis, a disease affecting more than 200 million people. Praziquantel-resistant worms have been selected for in the lab and low cure rates from mass drug administration programs suggest that resistance is evolving in the field. Thioredoxin glutathione reductase (TGR) is essential for schistosome survival and a validated drug target. TGR inhibitors identified to date are irreversible and/or covalent inhibitors with unacceptable off-target effects. In this work, we identify noncovalent TGR inhibitors with efficacy against schistosome infections in mice, meeting the criteria for lead progression indicated by WHO. Comparisons with previous in vivo studies with praziquantel suggests that these inhibitors outperform the drug of choice for schistosomiasis against juvenile worms.

The concepts of floating, flying, and sinking object have been studied since junior high school. However, we still often find students' misconceptions regarding the concept, especially of flying objects, even at the university level. This work aims to propose a clarification of the concept of a flying object in the fluid to be correctly described the condition for the flying object. We used eggs, water, and salt solutions to demonstrate sinking, rising, and floating objects in the fluids. The results showed that when the density of the object is the same as the density of the fluid, the position of the object is still at the bottom of the fluid since it was not flying in the middle of the depth of the fluid. But the object does not touch the bottom of the container so that the object's height is zero. This is because the object has not had a driving force (Fd = 0) that pushes the object upward towards the surface of the fluid to float. When the density of the fluid slightly exceeds the density of the object, the object immediately moves upward to the fluid surface - floating phenomenon is started. The greater the difference between the density of the fluid and the density of the object, the faster the object moves towards the surface. The object cannot stay at any position between the bottom and the surface of the fluid. A stable position is reached when the object reaches the surface of the fluid to float. This work is expected to increase students' understanding of flying objects in fluids.

Introduction: In ischemic stroke, the cerebral cortex suffers from hypoxia-ischemia, leading to inflammation and oxidative stress. Green tea extract has an anti-inflammation effect and antioxidant. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of green tea extract for adjuvant treatment of acute ischemic stroke in non-thrombolysis patients. Methods: A double-blind randomised controlled trial was conducted in November 2020-November 2021. The subjects were all acute ischemic stroke patients who presented to the Emergency Room during recruitment, randomised into control (n=13) and intervention groups (n=18); the intervention groups were given green tea extract 350 mg. Abstract: The purpose of this study is to prove whether there is an influence of religiosity, social care, and income on interest in tithing through BAZNAS and to prove the knowledge’s role of zakat as an intervening variable. This research was conducted on Bogor City residents who pay Zakat Maal and Zakat Fitrah at BAZNAS Bogor City. This research used a mixed method and used questionnaires and interviews as the data collection. By using SEM-PLS as data processing, the results showed that religiosity and income variables had no effect while social care and knowledge of zakat had an influence on interest in zakat through BAZNAS, and knowledge of zakat could mediate the effect of social concern and income but it could not mediate the effect of religiosity interest in zakat through BAZNAS. The Dialectics of Text and Context in the Hadith Understanding Framework The position of the Prophet Muhammad as a human being on the one hand and also as a messenger who received revelations has become an important concern among ‘Ulama and Muslim scholars in understanding his hadiths. For those who see him from the human side, an understanding that is too contextual will emerge and lead to the loss of the sacredness of hadith. On the other hand, for those who put forward the Prophet side, it creates an understanding that is too textual untill leading to be more rigid and irrelevant to apply. This study is as a framework in understanding hadith proportionally, when to be textual and when to be contextual. Through a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach, there some conclusions are derived from this study. Firstly, too contextual understanding of hadith tends to be practiced by liberals, while too textual understanding tends to be practiced by Zhahiriyah school. Secondly, there needs to be a clear separating line between hadith tasyri' and ghairu tasyri' so as not to fall into a contextual or textual understanding only. Thirdly, there must be limitations related to contextual and textual understanding. In regards to the boundaries that should not be influenced by the context, six categories are presented, namely, matters of faith, basic acts of worship, legal foundations, morals, sunnatullah, and special characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad. Meanwhile, there are four categories of text boundaries that can be changed, namely, branches of worship, the prophet's orders regarding the leader's policies, what comes from the prophet in the form of research or custom, and the acts of the prophet in the form of human habits.

Background: Bilateral kidney stones are commonly treated in staged procedures. Objective: To evaluate outcomes after same-sitting bilateral retrograde intrarenal surgery (SSB-RIRS) for renal stones. Design, setting, and participants: Data from adults who underwent bilateral RIRS in 21 centers were retrospectively reviewed (from January 2015 to June 2022). The inclusion criteria were unilateral/bilateral symptomatic bilateral stone(s) of any size/location in both kidneys and bilateral stones on follow-up with symptom/stone progression. Stone-free rate (SFR) was defined as absence of any fragment >3 mm at 3 mo. Outcome measurements and statistical analysis: Continuous variables are presented as medians and 25–75th percentiles. A multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate independent predictors of sepsis and bilateral SFR. Results and limitations: A total of 1250 patients were included. The median age was 48.0 (36–61) yr. Of the patients, 58.2% were prestented. The median stone diameter was 10 mm on both sides. Multiple stones were present in 45.3% and 47.9% of the left and right kidneys, respectively. Surgery was stopped in 6.8% of cases. The median surgical time was 75.0 (55–90) min. Complications were transient fever (10.7%), fever/infection needing prolonged stay (5.5%), sepsis (2%), and blood transfusion (1.3%). Bilateral and unilateral SFRs were 73.0% and 17.4%, respectively. Introdução: objetivou identificar as consequências desencadeadas pelos influenciadores digitais na autoestima de mulheres adultas. Materiais e Métodos: foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva, quantitativa e transversal. Compuseram a amostra 135 mulheres com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos, todas usuárias de redes sociais e seguidoras de influenciadores digitais. Na avaliação da autoestima foi utilizada a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg, como também um questionário semiestruturado com perguntas sobre tipos dieta, quais perfis costumam seguir e tempo nas redes sociais. Resultados: os resultados demonstraram que a maioria (48,9%) das participantes apresentaram autoestima média, e uma grande parte das pesquisadas (54,1%) informaram não seguir nenhum tipo de dieta. Discussão e conclusão: Parece existir uma influência dos influenciadores digitais na percepção da própria imagem e, consequentemente, na autoestima das mulheres avaliadas.

With the availability of mobile devices and Web 2.0 technologies, various networking apps have become essential to English language learning (ELL). TikTok, a global app similar to YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter, is becoming increasingly popular. TikTok is a video-sharing app that allows users to produce and share content while discovering material from other users. TikTok has yet to be thoroughly researched for educational purposes. However, some research suggests that social media can help language learners. This study evaluated Islamic school students' perspectives on using TikTok to learn English to enhance four English skills. In this study, 55 high school students from an Islamic country participated in an online quantitative research survey. The information was gathered using a Google Forms questionnaire. According to the research, students were enthusiastic about utilizing TikTok as a visual aid in enhancing their English skills. Writing was discovered to be the least likely of the four English skills to develop using TikTok Apps. Besides, students also stated a high preference for watching native English channels rather than local channels when learning English. As a result, TikTok has the potential to affect pupils' English proficiency positively. As a result, students and teachers can mix social networking apps to enhance English teaching and learning. Further research may be performed to look at students' voices, in the future teachers' views, and an experimental classroom design.

During the pandemic, the learning process in schools was considered less effective. The lack of involvement of students in the learning process makes learning activities only focus on the teacher. This happens because students need to adapt to the online learning process at home. Therefore, the government issued a policy for schools to implement a blended learning learning system as an effort to maximize learning, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons during the ongoing pandemic. The purpose of carrying out this research was to explore information related to the implementation of blended learning in improving the character of students through PAI subjects and direct it with library research. This research process was also carried out by exploring various kinds of data sourced from material in relevant journals in various media on the internet. This study describes the results that blended learning has been successfully used as an effective solution to optimize the PAI learning process and can overcome the deficiencies that exist in captivating and courageous learning to develop students' character. The conclusions of this study are 1) there is an effect of blended learning on optimal PAI learning objectives, 2) the need for various types of media designed in the implementation of blended learning as a form of effort to shape the character of students and learning can be achieved as well as possible. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan kepada sekolah untuk menerapkan sistem pembelajaran blended learning sebagai upaya untuk memaksimalkan pembelajaran termasuk pada pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) saat masa pandemi berlangsung. Tujuan dari dilaksanakannya penelitian ini ialah untuk menggali informasi yang berkaitan dengan implementasi blended learning dalam meningkatkan karakter peserta didik melalui mata pelajaran PAI dan dilangsungkan dengan studi pustaka (library research). Proses penelitian ini dilakukan juga dengan menggali berbagai macam data yang bersumber dari materi pada jurnal-jurnal yang relevan di dalam berbagai media dalam internet. Penelitian ini memaparkan hasil bahwasannya blanded learning berhasil digunakan sebagai solusi efektif untuk mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran PAI serta dapat mengatasi kekurangan yang ada dalam pembelajaran luring dan daring untuk mengembangkan karakter peserta didik. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah 1) adanya pengaruh blended learning terhadap pencapaian pembelajaran PAI yang optimal, 2) perlunya berbagai macam media yang dirancang dalam pelaksanaan blended learning sebagai bentuk upaya untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik dan pembelajaran dapat tercapai dengan sebaik mungkin. ABSTRACTAims Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) constitutes the primary growth substrate for Porphyromonas gingivalis in vivo. The goal of this work was to evaluate the growth of different strains of P. gingivalis on human serum albumin (HSA), a major constituent of GCF.Methods Growth of five different strains of P. gingivalis in the HSA medium was examined and, surprisingly, three of the strains underwent autolysis within 24 h. Comparative transcriptomic analysis was used to identify genes involved in autolysis.Results Two highly related reference strains (W50 and W83) differed dramatically in their survival when grown on HSA. Strain W83 grew fast and lysed within 24 h, while W50 survived for an additional 20 h. Differential gene expression analysis led us to a gene cluster containing enzymes involved in arginine metabolism and a gene predicted to be a lytic murein transglycosylase, which are known to play a role in autolysis. Deletion of this gene (PG0139) resulted in a mutant that did not lyse, and complementation restored the HSA lysis phenotype, indicating that this enzyme plays a central role in the autolysis of P. gingivalis.Conclusions P. gingivalis undergoes autolysis when provided with HSA as a substrate for growth.

Abstract Thin film electronic devices based on flexible biocompatible substrates are desired in various fields such as implants, soft robotics, and wearables, where stretchability is often necessary. Structure‐enabled stretchability in flexible thin films can be achieved by introducing origami‐inspired folds, thereby storing excess material in the out‐of‐plane direction to unfold upon stress. When using vapor‐deposited substrates such as parylene‐C, folds can be introduced prefabrication using molds patterned in repeated grooves and ridges. Here, this work reports the fabrication and parametrization of 10‐µm‐thick stretchable origami parylene‐C electrodes using 3D printed molds. The molds are printed with a sinusoidal pattern and tunable amplitude and slope, with accurate printing results up to 60° steepness. A 160‐nm‐thick gold layer on top of the folded parylene is patterned via laser ablation following the 3D mold shape. Depending on the design parameters, the resulting electrodes maintain functionality until 40%–100% strain. By 3D printing the molds, this technique can fabricate electrodes with complete control of the designed directions of stretchability in a rapid prototyping approach.

This study aims to analyze the speech acts based on Searle’s classification of illocutionary acts and perlocutionary acts in the teen novel, ‘Dilan, Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990’. This research aims to identify and describe these acts as done by one of the main characters, Dilan. This research used a qualitative method. The data were in the form of a description where all of Dilan’s utterances are identified in the novel and further analyzed. The findings of this research showed that there are five types of illocutionary acts in the novel. They are assertive, directive, commisive, expressive, and declarative. The assertive type is the dominant type used by Dilan rather than the other types. In terms of the perlocutionary act, the effect of Dilan’s utterances tends to persuade his hearers, impress, encourage, convince, amuse, intimidate, inform and surprise them. As a consequence, persuading the hearers is the dominant effect based on Dilan’s utterances. The context of situation determined all the acts performed by this main character. Conclusively, the findings of this study are expected to broaden the context of linguistics, especially of speech acts as a part of pragmatics in linguistics.
