Unbalanced drying air and temperature distribution in a dryer is among the major cause of non-uniformity in moisture content of dried food. Thus, the distribution of air and temperature in corner-ended, corner-ended with deflector, curved-ended, and curved-ended with defectors were investigated. Velocities used were 2 m/s, 4 m/s, and 6 m/s while temperatures ranged from 40-60 ° C. The design with lowest deviations in simulated and actual drying parameters was fabricated to dry mushrooms. Results showed that adding deflectors improved drying air and temperature distribution. The corner-ended with deflector dryer configuration was superior to other designs, with 6 m/s and 60 °C being optimal. A mass transfer simulation of the corner-ended with deflectors configuration had moisture evaporate from 1.00-0.11 in 2000 seconds. A comparison of moisture ratios in the two dryers gave R2 = 0.9965, which was acceptable. Drying at 55-60 °C gave the best Lentinan content and rehydration ratio for mushrooms. ABSTRACT In this study, a functionalized magnetic powder complex porous carbon derived from ZIF‐8 (ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C)) was prepared and applied for the waste liquid containing MB, TC, and Cu2+ adsorption removal. The ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) perfectly inherited the feature of parent ZIF‐8, posed a high specific surface area (SBET = 812.73 m2 g−1), be rich in surface nitrogen functional groups, and resulting in a good dynamic adsorption of the MB, TC, and Cu2+. The ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) exhibited the best adsorption performance of high‐concentration waste liquid containing MB, TC, and Cu2+, with equilibrium adsorption capacity of MB (408 mg g−1), TC (417 mg g−1), and Cu2+ (386 mg g−1), respectively. The acetone and toluene adsorption were spontaneously and exothermic, given the negative values of free energy (ΔG) and enthalpy (ΔH). The difference of MB, TC, and Cu2+ adsorption on ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) attributed to the affinity difference (polarity and molecular diameter) and the nitrogen‐containing functional groups (π‐π interaction and electrostatic attraction). Therefore, it was found that ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) could effectively adsorb MB, TC, and Cu2+, and ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) could remove more than 70% of the above pollutants after repeated use for four times; it has a good application prospect. In an effort to exploit the bioactive natural scaffold 3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2 H )-one for plant disease management, 59 derivatives of this scaffold were synthesized using the Castagnoli-Cushman reaction. The results of bioassay indicated that their antioomycete activity against Pythium recalcitrans was superior to the antifungal activity against the other 6 phytopathogens. Compound I23 showed the highest in vitro potency against P. recalcitrans with an EC 50 value of 14 μM, which was higher than that of the commercial hymexazol (37.7 μM). Moreover, I23 exhibited in vivo preventive efficacy of 75.4% at the dose of 2.0 mg/pot, which did not show significant differences compared with those of hymexazol treatments (63.9%). When the dose was 5.0 mg per pot, I23 achieved a preventive efficacy of 96.5%. The results of the physiological and biochemical analysis, the ultrastructural observation and lipidomics analysis suggested that the mode of action of I23 might be the disruption of the biological membrane systems of P. recalcitrans . In addition, the established CoMFA and CoMSIA models with reasonable statistics in the three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) study revealed the necessity of the C4-carboxyl group and other structural requirements for activity. Overall, the above results would help us to better understand the mode of action and the SAR of these derivatives, and provide crucial information for further design and development of more potent 3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2 H )-one derivatives as antioomycete agents against P. recalcitrans ., Competing Interests: The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest., (This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry.)
