Banking plays a crucial role as the most significant financial intermediary, and the effectiveness of its diversification strategy aimed at reducing individual bank systemic risk is a significant topic in both theory and practice. In this study, we investigate the impact of cross-industry loan diversification on bank systemic risk using data from listed banks, and reveal a significant positive correlation, indicating a clear'diversification systemic risk' effect. This effect remains robust across a series of robustness tests. Further research reveals the influence of cross-industry loan diversification on bank systemic risk operates primarily through the channel of interbank asset similarity. Additionally, we find the'diversification systemic risk' effect is particularly prominent among joint-stock banks, those with high interbank deposits，and those with high real estate loans. Drawing on prior studies regarding the use of peers for investment decisions and compensation practices and the recent reports which suggest that firms use peer information for audit pricing, we examine the effect of peer groups on the audit pricing process under high information asymmetry environment. Using observations from the emerging markets of China, we find that peer group information is used in audit pricing with peer groups defined as the Industry, Industry/Region, Industry/Big4, Industry/Size, and Industry/Region/Big4. This is consistent with above complementary theories. We also find evidence that peer group information is more likely to be used by firms from low-technology industries, less developed regions, and firms audited by non-Big 4 CPA firms than those from high-technology industries, more developed regions, and firms audited by Big 4 CPA firms. Also, peer group information is more likely to be used in clients firms with shorter auditor tenure and with lower analyst following compared with their counterparts. Finally, we find that clients with lower audit fees than their peer groups in the previous period are more likely to increase audit fees in the current period. Our results are qualitatively the same regardless of whether we use an overall sample across different industries or for each industry separately. These results are consistent with the peer group literature and also indicate that peer group information is more likely to be used in conditions when information asymmetry is high. We examine how US mutual funds that invest domestically make portfolio adjustments by incorporating US‐listed foreign stocks (cross‐listed stocks) when faced with US market economic policy uncertainty. We document a positive association between US economic policy uncertainty and US mutual funds' weight of cross‐listed stocks, and find that the effect is concentrated in funds that mainly invest in the US domestic market. The findings are not sensitive to the instrumental variable approach, model specification, sampling, variable definition, and controlling for macro characteristics. Funds with higher weight of cross‐listed foreign stocks when US economic policy uncertainty increases outperform other funds, indicating the rationality of such an investment strategy. A long‐short portfolio generates 3.4% annualized abnormal return in the immediate following quarter. Our study shields light not only on the international diversification benefit of US‐listed foreign stocks but also on the importance of capital market openness for domestic investors. Ternary heterojunctions g-C3N4/ZnS/CuS with different morphologies were constructed. The g-C3N4/ZnS/CuS (hexagonal-nanosheets) exhibited the largest photocurrent, the best photocatalytic and electrochemical activity, which revealed the influence discipline of different morphologies on photoconductivity, photo/electro-catalytic activity. Manuscript Type Empirical Research Question/Issue This paper investigates the influence of CEO compensation on voluntary turnover and the moderating role of the managerial labor market. It explores how institutional contingencies related to labor market transparency, mobility, and competitiveness shape supply and demand conditions of the managerial labor market, and consequently affect the relationship between CEO underpayment and turnover. Research Findings/Insights Using a sample of Chinese listed firms between 2002 and 2011, we document that underpaid CEOs are associated with a larger likelihood of voluntary turnover in China. Importantly, we find that CEO underpayment will increase the likelihood of voluntary turnover to a greater extent when executive compensation disclosure is mandatory, when regional labor mobility is higher, and when industry growth rate is larger. Overall, our study demonstrates that underpayment below the market rate motivates CEOs to exit their organizations and such a reaction is more likely to materialize when managerial labor market conditions are favorable enough to create a strong pull force. Theoretical/Academic Implications This study adopts an interdisciplinary perspective built on institutional theory, organizational psychology, and labor economics to examine the role of the managerial labor market during institutional transition. It integrates the social psychological explanation of turnover with the perspective of labor economics by linking both pull side and push side drivers of organizational participation with demand and supply conditions of the managerial labor market. Practitioner/Policy Implications This study suggests that the design of executive compensation should consider the ongoing labor market rate for retention and motivation reasons, especially when managerial talent is under tight supply and strong demand. Manuscript Type: Empirical. Research Question/Issue: This study investigates the moderating role of CEO overpayment on the relationship between firm performance and CEO dismissal. We also examine how contextual factors, including compensation disclosure regulation, firm index status, and firm age, influence board attention and attribution, and consequently affect the sensitivity of CEOdismissal to firm performance. Research Findings/Insights: Using a sample of Chinese listed firms between 2002 and 2011, we find that overpaid CEOs are associated with a larger likelihood of dismissal in case of poor firm performance compared to their underpaid counterparts. In addition, CEO overpayment has a larger influence on the turnover-performance relationship when executive compensation disclosure is mandatory, when a firm is index-included, or younger. Theoretical/Academic Implications: This study provides empirical support for attribution theory and the attention-based view. Built on the concept of bounded rationality, it demonstrates that board sense-making and causal attributions affect the CEO dismissal decision. Our study also sheds light on the influence of situational cues on shaping board attention and subsequent corporate governance decisions. Practitioner/Policy Implications: This study offers insights to policymakers interested in enhancing the design of corporate governance mechanisms by paying attention to cognitive processes in the boardroom.
