"Centrifugal pumps are most commonly used pumping devices in industry their being fit for pumping water. There are several types of centrifugal pumps, their differences in construction is due to their size and how cloggy the pumped water is. In the paper it was simulated a 2D centrifugal pump of small size used in daily activities. The simulation, performed with CFD (ANSYS-Fluent), was made for different inlet velocities of water. Different parameters, such as inlet pressure, outlet pressure, maximum velocity and flow rate, were calculated and graphically represented against inlet velocity. In this paper there are analyzed ecosystem status characteristics, pressures and impacts, risk matrix for a marine ecosystem . The methodology is a new tool for assessing the state of the environment [1], [2]. The results are descriptive indicators of the analyzed ecosystems, wich were calculated by classical methods and computer applications [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. Using information about these descriptive indicators, the ecological status of the marine ecosystem was assessed, calculating the risk matrix [5], [6]. Finally, it can observed that in the marine environment, the reconfigurations will have a tailor-made impact. The most affected will be the Black Sea fauna.

In this paper we want to present the details of new project about floating liquid natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal based on conversion of an existing LNG carrier . LNG is sent from the tanks to the regasification skid fwd. The regasification skid essentially comprises booster pumps and vaporizers This project can boost both transport and economy sector of Central European countries by introducing a less expensive fuel, more environmental friendly and with a good perspective in the future. The project consists in building a LNG import terminal in Constanta, harbor from where the merchandise (LNG in this situation) can easily be delivered on Danube’s basin and reach central European countries.

A The novelty of this study consists in the fact that, at the same time as the monitoring and acquisition of data of the air quality (from inside and outside), a monitoring and acquisition of data of the real-time biometric measurements of subjects exposed directly to the needle will be made. Medium by means of a bracelet attached to the subject's arm. This bracelet is designed to perform biometric measurements without creating discomfort to the subjects analyzed in the activities in which they are involved. This measurement is carried out with 9 different sensors for: pulse, oxygen in the blood, air flow (breathing), body temperature, electrocardiogram, galvanic skin response, blood pressure, the patient's position/movement, and the status of muscle (electromyography sensor). The data thus obtained will be focused on a PC and subsequently analyzed. The results of monitoring the health parameters of the subjects analyzed find application in the maritime field, to ships, especially in the engine room, where the air suffers quality transformations. The crew's return to the workplace may decrease due to the degradation of the air quality in the premises.

A smart solution for assessing the consequences of pollution on the coast, on flora and fauna but also by accounting for the total costs of the equipment used in the response to pollution is a system for assessing, coordinating and simulating the risk situation with the help of a mathematical model implemented on a simulator. The mathematical model for the simulation of the event of pollution is the latest generation and take into account all the meteorological factors of the sea and air, as well as all the physico-chemical parameters of the substances involved (dispersion, surface tension). The simulator is used for the realistic modeling of a crisis situation and it is useful for both marine officers and emergency situation officials. The simulator will be used as an educational instrument enabling the interactive study of the different emergency situations. In this paper we present the simulation of incident and the creation of response resources. The scenario incident is for KAPTAN M cruise ship that left the tourist port of TOMIS Constanta, Romania, having on board 20 passengers and a number of 15 crew members, and which collided with the oil ship EVIA Oil FIVE, having on board the quantity of 4200 MT crude oil. As a result of the collision, the passenger ship suffered a breach (water hole), on the starboard board, breach by which the ship began to ambarce sea water and in the car compartment a fire was produced. Containment and recovery of an oil spill during the exercise will be simulated through activation and control of response resources. The resources involved in the operations are divided into: platforms, equipment and personnel. The results of simulation is the list of response resources specified in the scenario together with their parameters, which can be exported into a text file. With this simulation tools you can efficiently appreciate the cost of resources in due time, avoiding material and human damage.

Nowadays maritime transportation develops environmental pollution issues. On 1st of January 2020 “International Maritime Organization (IMO)” give a new amendment which limits the sulphur content in the fuel oil used on board ships operating outside designated emissions control area (ECA) to 0.50% m/m – a significant reduction from previous limit of 3.5 %. In ECA the sulphur content in the fuel must be maximum 0.10% m/m. In order to comply with the new regulation maritime industry has to search for new methods of reducing the SOx emissions. This article major points are: environmental pollution due to maritime transportation nowadays; methods for shipping industry to comply with IMO 2020 amendment; the use of an EGCS (Exhaust Gas Cleaning System) in order to reduce the output of SOx; discharge washwater chemistry; titration curve and dilution requirement; use CFD modeling in order to determine the expected flow and mixing profiles for the discharge washwater of an acidic effluent waste stream from ship into the ocean; comparison between the manufacturer system specification and the CFD modeling results; conclusions.

Pollution caused by ships is a great threat to the environment nowadays. This article is about methods of reducing pollution caused by shipping industry. By reading the article the reader will discover an calculation of how much some green energy sources like modern Flettner rotor and Flettner balloon, which are using wind renewable energy, together with an electrical engine can reduce pollution for a route during ocean passage and how much are the costs of installation, of green energy resources system and the investment mitigation time. This article major points are: calculation of the fuel consumption for a container ship on a route during ocean passage, calculation of the pollution made by the ship if he uses fossil fuel and calculation of pollution if the ship is using green energy resources and an electrical motor, costs of the investment for transforming a fossil fuel eating container ship into a green one during ocean passage.

In this article we propose a feasibility study about the use of an optimization electrical energy program for a container ship in order to make the best choice of making a hybrid system. In order to design and choose the best components of a hybrid system formed from some conventional sources of energy and one unconventional source1, we used an optimization software called HOMER2. In this study, the average energy consumption of the ship per hour was taken by approximating the measurements recorded over a period of several days. As a potential source of green energy, we used the Flettner balloon. Flettner balloon is a generator of electric power, filled with helium that rotates around his own horizontal ax and sends the electricity using some cables. It rotates around his own horizontal ax in response to the wind, effectively generating clean, renewable electricity. The article shows how to select the best elements of the hybrid system, for a configuration which uses conventional sources of energy and one renewable energy source, taking into account the current prices of the necessary equipment. HOMER simulates thousands of different system configurations, or combinations of components, optimizes the cost during operation and generates analysis results on all input data, graphs with variations in time (day/month/year) of the various sizes involved in the system: generated power, load, accumulators.

The negative consequences of polluting factors has created in the society a culturalization of the population in this direction. Real-time knowledge of indoor and outdoor air quality, water quality, noise pollution level, or electromagnetic radiation level, all these are requirements of today's society. The demand for devices to monitor these polluting factors has increased substantially in recent years. The devices for monitoring electromagnetic radiation are also part of the increasingly requested devices. The current market offers such devices, which have a high cost price, which can usually only indicate the presence of electromagnetic radiation but does not indicate the volume, or area of the radiation origin, nor does it integrate their amount 1, 2. Thus the need arose to develop a universal device for the monitoring of electromagnetic radiation called Electro-Magnetic Radiation-Monitoring Universal Device (EMR-MUD). It complements the family of universal devices for monitoring Indoor Air Quality Universal Device (IAQ-MUD) 3 and Outdoor Air Quality Monitoring Universal Device (OAQ-MUD) 4 improving the image of polluting factors. Through this paper we present how we designed the electronic scheme of the device, then how we built this device and finally, how we purchased the data through the "Tdera Term" programm, which offers the possibility of accessing data both on a serial local communication and accessing it. data via the Internet. This device is able to monitor several areas of interest in the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, being built for indoor and outdoor spaces 5.

In order to reduce the emissions produced by the operational flow of a wastewater treatment plant, regardless of whether they are located in urban or rural areas, the quality of air must be analyzed. For this reason, the Constanta Nord treatment plant was chosen as a study location. This is near the Mamaia resort and does not fall within the recommended sanitary protection norms, according to NP-032-1999 (at least 300 m from the last house). Therefore, it was necessary to take measures to reduce the repellent gases generated in the neighborhood of wastewater treatment plants. The solution is in attention of all wastewater treatment plants from the world because this depend on operational flux management and health of population.The research consists of: description of the technological flow of the treatment plant and in particular of the deodorizing installation of the contaminated air, choosing a work scenario for a day with 2 shifts per hour, respectively 6 shifts per hour, the air flow needed to treat the vitiated air (the deodorization plant components) and the efficiency of the regulation system from the point of view of energy consumption. Also, possible leakage of dangerous gases into the atmospheric air was monitored (H2S, Cl2, CO), taking into account the fact that in the immediate vicinity there is the Mamaia resort, the student housing and rural locations Palazu and Mamaia village.

Atmospheric pollution limitation has evolved and evolves continuously, depending on the better knowledge of the harmful effects of the different atmospheric pollutants. The main elements that have led and lead to the continuous revision of the norms are the climatic changes and acid rain associated with atmospheric pollutants. In this context, the paper presents the following aspects: two monitoring regimes aims to evaluate and prevent air pollution in urban areas; was chosen as a monitoring location Constanta city, with strategic points exposed to the risk of pollution. For the monitoring of emissions in these locations, a selfemployed emission analyzer was used. Where there are risk areas, exists a risk analisys with vulnerable locations and values of emissions’s concentrations. There are monitoring CO, CO2, NO2, SO2 emissions and PM2.5 and PM10 in air of urban sites which are exposed to the risk of pollution. Finally, the recorded values are below the maximum permissible limit. The conclusion is that pollution in urban sites can also be a danger to neighboring rural settlements, if there is no strict monitoring thereof.

Various solutions, which consist of numerous techniques, technologies and planning measures, are testing for reduction shoreline erosion, precisely for protection shore against waves attack. These methods may affect the site's geology and geomorphology, involving changes of the habitats in the site. Coastal defense projects and ideas must take into account the structure and functions of protected natural areas and their conservation objectives in order to avoid threatening the species and/or habitats on the site. The ecological impacts expected from coast protection structures on short-term are mostly negative, may disturbance the birds from their habitat, and destruct the marine coastal habitats with their own flora and fauna. In this study, we are indicating the effects of coastal protection measures on the ecosystem. Therefore, we present a part of methods applied or which will be apply on the Romanian shoreline and the effects that have an impact on the species and/or habitats on the site. The methods referred to “hard” methods so to harder the shore with fixed structure (bulkhead, seawall, revetment, breakwaters, sills or groins) or “soft” methods like beach nourishment that is not a sustainable method in time. The protection structures like breakwaters and groins trap or add sand and will change the beach geometry this means that can introduce new artificial material, which is extensively and rapidly colonized by algae and marine animals. In the cases of beach nourishment, under water sand nourishment and mudflat recharge, there are impacts both at the borrow site (the sediment source) and the target site. In the zone of extraction of borrow, sediments appear a damage and mortality to the benthos. Finally, it can conclude that some of the effects are beneficial for socio-economic aspect, but it is important also, the environment, which can bring bad consequences for earth landscape and make the ecosystem, be unbalanced.

In this paper is studying multi-phase fluid flow simulation in a blending tank, which involve air and water. It aims to use a model of the turbulence of the fluid, addicted to set different options for each fluid turbulence. It used for simulation the equations and tools from program ANSYS 13.0. The system is composed of a tank, a pipe of air injection, four baffles, a rotor, and a vertical shaft passing through the vessel. Data entry: the rotation frequency of the rotor on axis Ox (89 rotations/min(rpm)), the speed of the air which is injected into the container (5 m/s ), diameter pipe at entry (0.0248 m).The study assumptions are: a) the temperature of the water and the air remain constant (25 °C) and that the air is incompressible, with a density equal to that at 25 0 C and 1 Pa; b) the bubbles have 3 mm diameter. The mixture requires two domains: a domain for rotor and stationary tank area. Both areas contain water as a continuous phase and air as the dispersion phase. The fields will shape buoyancy, turbulence and the forces of the fluid. In the paper are presented the details of flow analysis for: dispersed fluid in the impeller region of mixing device and of continuous fluid in the same region, with corresponding parameters, after this for tank and the boundary conditions for each studied assumptions. Flow simulation in blending tank help to optimize the shape of tank and reducing the hydraulic losses due to fouling the solid borders.

In this paper are presented the process of measuring parameters of marine waves with performed devices which permit to obtain the values of the speed and current division marine wave amplitude and direction of the wave at each measurement, the number of measurements, date, hour, minute and second of measurement. This monitoring, which comprises the period of one year including, reveals an amplitude an annual average of the wave of hmed=1.53 m, obtained by taking maximum envelope appeared in a measurement range of 120 seconds. The value is unexpectedly high, taking into account of the fact that on the coastline it was found of: hmed =0.467 m at Constanta Station and hmed =0.23 m at Mangalia Station. These results reveal that there is a energy potential that exceeds expectations, much larger in the area of off shore, that is to say, in more than 12 Mm off shore, in front of the coastal zone. These measurements were applied with two devices-one device for measuring hidrostatic amplitude test and other device, ADV(Advanced Doppler velocymmeter).

We present data obtained after a 2 years period of monitoring the wave’s parameters in an off-shore location. We have used the location of a working petroleum platform situated at: N44031’, E29034’ at 50 km from land and 80 km NE from Constanta Harbor, in the Romanian Black Sea waters. We describe monitoring systems used.and their solution. The Advanced Doppler Velocymeter (ADV) for parameters of marine waves is based on Doppler effect and it is composed of a transmitter at a frequency of 10 MHz and of 3 receivers which are equidistant from 1200. Data storage on the HDD PC, with the possibility of take-over and normal review (ASCII file). We can get the values of the speed and current division marine tide amplitude and direction of the wave at each measurement, the number of measurements, date, hour, minute and second of measurement, as well as other parameters, both as numeric values and a graph having abscissa registration number. This monitoring, which comprises the period of one year including, reveals an amplitude an annual average of the wave of hmed=1.53 m, obtained by taking maximum envelope appeared in a measurement range of 120 seconds. We compare these off-shore values with the coastal ones and we conclude that the wave’s energetic off-shore potential is unexpectedly bigger that in the coastal region.
