Background The cause of early-accelerated atherosclerosis development observed in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is not fully understood. The determination of the relationship between the serum or blood levels of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF 23) and carotid artery intima media thicknesses (CIMT) and development of endothelial dysfunction lend support to the possibility that FGF-23 plays a role in the development of atherosclerosis in CKD. Aim of Work To assess the circulating FGF23 as a marker of vascular stiffness in children with CKD on conservative treatment regardless the etiology and to correlate its level with carotid artery intima media thickness as detected by ultrasonography. Patients and Methods This is a prospective case control study was done on forty cases with CKD on conservative treatment (stage II - III and IV) regardless the etiology. Also twenty apparently healthy children age and sex matched with cases were included as a control group. After complete clinical evaluation of cases and controls including weight, height, body mass index, blood pressure and all body systems, FGF23 was measured in serum and carotid artery intima media thicknesses (CIMT) was measured as a marker of atherosclerosis using ultrasonography. Results CIMT measurements and FGF-23 levels were significantly higher in patients than controls. There was a positive correlation between FGF23 and both CIMT, CKD stage. On the other hand there was a negative correlation between FGF23 and the level of glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Conclusion FGF-23 may be used as a sensitive and non-invasive indicator of subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with chronic kidney disease where our results showed a positive correlation between FGF23 and CIMT.

Aims: The objective of the present study was to investigate the phytochemical constituents and antibacterial activity of ginger extracts against some pathogenic bacteria responsible for Urinary tract infection. Study Design: A total of 35 samples were collected from patients with UTIs and wound infections. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted at 2 hospitals in Baghdad from1/7/2017 to 1/9/2017 Methodology: The urine sample was collected using a sterile container, while a swap from the infected wound was also taken. The classical methods for diagnosis pathogenic bacteria in urine and wound are based on culture on different microbiological media including. Blood agar, nutrient agar, then incubated at 37°C for 24 hrs. The diagnostic procedures consisted of direct microscopy observation, Gram staining, Biochemical tests, Catalase and coagulase tests. Results: Results show that 30.55%, 38.8%, 19.46% and 11.11% isolates gave typical morphological characteristics and biochemical test for Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonae and Staphylococcus aureus respectively. Antibiotic susceptibility test reveals that Escherichia coli isolates were 100% sensitive to gentamicin, tetracycline, streptomycine. Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates reveal that 100% of them were sensitive to gentamicin, Imipenem, ampicillin and streptomycine. Staphylococcus aureus isolates reveal that 100% of them were sensitive to Gentamycine, tetracycline and streptomycine. Klebsiella pneumonae isolates reveal that 100% of them were sensitive to nitrofurantoin and Imipenem. Ginger roots extract at high concentration (250,500 mg/ml) have strong antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonae). Conclusion: This study has shown that ginger extracts possess medicinal properties, antibacterial activity and that the inhibition of bacterial growth was dose dependent. The results of the present study show that ginger extracts are more effective against all tested bacterial strains. The results of present study have provided the justification for therapeutic potential of ginger and also used as dietary supplement for food preservation.

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore how Big-4 companies use the balanced scorecard to manage the operations in comparison to smaller competitors in the same field. Method - The study is of a qualitative nature and is based on an inductive approach. The empirical data has been collected through Conclusion - The results show that the use of BSC differs not only between Big-4 and Non-big 4 bureaus but also within the groups. In addition, there is no link between the size of the bureau, belonging to The Big 4 or not, on the one hand, and the use of BSC on the other hand. Some bureaus within the Big-4 use the card more extensively than others within the block. At the same time there are some smaller bureaus that focus on more perspectives of the card, compared to some Big-4 bureaus. This leads to the conclusion that the extent to which the card is used differs drastically between all bureaus. Syfte - syftet med denna uppsats är att utforska hur Big-4 byråerna använder det balanserade styrkortet för att styra verksamheten i jämförelse med mindre konkurrenter i samma fält. Metod - Studien är av kvalitativ karaktär och har utgått från en induktiv ansats. Empirin har samlats in genom dokument samt litteratur innehållsanalys. Slutsats - Resultaten visar att användningen av BSC skiljer sig inte bara mellan Big 4 och Non-big 4 utan även inom grupperna, samtidigt som det inte förekommer någon koppling mellan byråns storlek, att tillhöra Big 4 eller inte och användningen av BSC. Vissa byråer inom Big-4 använder kortet mer omfattande än dem andra inom blocket. Samtidigt som vissa Non-big 4 byråer tar hänsyn till fler perspektiv av kortet, jämfört med andra byråer inom Big-4. Detta leder till slutsatsen att användning av kortet skiljer sig mellan samtliga ingående byråerna.

Nasriya oil field is located at the Southern part of Iraq, this field is a giant and prolific, so it take a special are from the Oil Exploration Company for development purposes by using 3D seismic reflection. The primary objective of this thesis is to obtain reservoir properties and enhance the method of getting precise information about subsurface reservoir characterizations by improving the estimation of petrophysical properties (effective porosity, P-wave, water saturation and poisson's ratio). There are five wells in the study area penetrated the required reservoirs within Yammam Formation. The Synthetic seismogram of Nasriya wells were created to conduct well tie with seismic data. These well tie was very good matching with seismic section using best average statistical wavelet. Five main horizons were picked from the reflectors by using synthetic seismogram for wells then converted to structural maps in depth domain by using average velocity of five wells. By using petrel program TWT maps have been constructed from the picked horizons, Average velocity maps calculated from the wells velocities survey data and the sonic log information and Depth maps construction was drawn using Direct time-depth conversion and the general trend of these map was NW-SE. The model of low frequency was created from the low frequency contents from well data and the five main horizons were picked. The seismic inversion technique was performed on post-stack three dimensions (3D) seismic data in Nasriya oil field.

Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is one of the most used controllers in the local generations, primarily it aimed to suppress local mode of oscillations. On the other hand, the Unified Power Flow Controllers (UPFC) the most versatile member of flexible alternating current transmission system devices to simultaneously control real and reactive power flows on transmission lines, as well as regulate selected bus voltage. Each of these controllers, on their own, can show satisfactory performance to enhance power system stability. However, when they utilized together, their dynamic performance can degrade due to controller interaction, that should be strategically optimized. In this paper, the coordinated design of pss's and upfc is realized to damp inter-area oscillations in two-area power system using particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. The simulated cases in Matlab environment show that the interaction of pss's and upfc can be optimized, so the inter-area oscillations can be effectively mitigated following after fault, the simulation results of the uncoordinated design are also presented.

Fractional order PID (FOPID) controller is a special kind of PID controller whose derivative and integral order are fractional rather than integer which has five parameters to be tuned. This paper presents study of the implementation of tuning method and performance enhancement of the closed loop system by use of the fractional order PID (PIλDμ) controller utilizing a MATLAB/Simulink. The tuning methods for these type controllers have many mixed tools of the available optimization methods and update artificial optimization methods in the design. In this paper particle swarm optimization has been implemented to design FOPID controller in which the unknown parameters are determined minimizing a given integral of time weighted absolute error (ITAE). The main specification of this paper is that the all five parameters of (PIλDμ) have been found directly without spreading the steps. It has been shown that the response and performance of the closed loop system with FOPID controller is much better than integer order PID controller for the same system and with better robustness.

The study has been carried out during the period from 15/9/2010 to 21/12/2010 in a alshalalat farm 15km from Mosul center. 200 chickens of 1day age have been used in which were divided into two parts. The first one takes the ordinary water while the second takes the magnetized water having the magnetic field of 500 Gauss. The results as follow:- There are highly significant increases P≤0.01 in second treatment that used Magnetized water in live body weight, body weight gain improved the feed conversion efficiency, water intake, blood pH, packed cells value, number of red and white cells, hemoglobin and total serum protein, and highly significant decrease P≤0.01 in cholesterol, glucose and uriacid in blood serum compared with first. There are significant differences between the second treatment in weight of (carcass, breast , thigh, wings and neck) and first treatment, this difference was not significant in weight of back and edible viscera between the two treatment. There is a significant correlation P≤0.01 in the first treatment between the weight of carcass and the components of the carcass except the weight of the carcass and the weight of viscera consumed at a level of P ≤ 0.05 for both treatments but the weight of breast in the second treatment there are no significant differences with the weight of carcass and parts of the carcass. The analysis of the path coefficient for the first treatment that the neck is the limiting factor of direct and indirect link and suites at the second treatment is the key determinant of direct and indirect link between the parts of the carcass.
