MAPT (Microtubule Associated Protein Tau) is a Protein Coding gene. Aberrant expression of MAPT has been reported to be associated with several types of tumors, such as gastric, breast, and colorectal cancer, and so on. However, the role of MAPT in HCC (Hepatic carcinoma) is still poorly understood. In our research, MAPT-related data mining and analyzing were used publicly-available data from TCGA, GEO, Oncomine, and HPA databases. The survival curve was shown and analyzed by using Kaplan Meier Plotter. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), TIMER, STRING, and R package were used to explore the function and potential mechanism of MAPT in HCC. The results show that MAPT is overexpressed in HCC samples and is correlated with worse prognosis of patients with HCC. Bioinformatics analysis showed that MAPT contributed to the development of tumors through a variety of mechanisms. In conclusion, the Up-regulation of MAPT was significantly linked to poor prognosis in HCC patients, and it could be a new therapeutic target for HCC therapy.

Aquatic plant, Scirpus triqueter, uptake of PAHs was investigated with test time for periods of 336h. The effect of APG, an environment-friendly surfactant, on the plant uptake and distribution characteristics of PAHs in root and shoot of the plant were detected. Concentrations of phenanthrene and pyrene in the Scirpus triqueter root increased sharply at the early stage and reached the peak at 16 h, but in shoots elevated significantly and reached the peak at 48h. APG did not show any apparent phytotoxity toward the growth of Scirpus triqueter in the test concentration range. APG(≤30 mg L-1) can enhance the root uptake and root concentration factors (RCF) of phenanthrene in plant, whereas APG(>30 mg L-1) may inhibit the PAHs uptake by the plant. Results indicate that the APG would be a preferred selection for the application of surfactant-enhanced phytoremediation and optimal concentration should be determined before the application of APG.

Two efficient anthracene-degrading strains are isolated from pollution sludge collected from sewage treatment plant and identified by sequencing their 16S rDNA genes, one is Pseudomonas nitroreducens and the other is Bacillus sp.. The proper growth conditions of each bacterium was measured and presented for anthracene-degrading. The optimum growth condition is pH 7.5, 30°C. Biodegradation assays revealed that the degradation rates of two bacterial strains are 82.3% and 80.7% in 7 days. Respectively, the two bacteria had played important roles in the degradation of anthracene.
